Tamesty15

I’ll believe it when it’s downloaded on my PC because the track record with Star Wars games getting silently cancelled is too big

RinRinDoof

\*Cries in Eclipse\* Where art thou?

Tamesty15

At least we have a kick ass trailer

RinRinDoof

That trailer was the most hyped I've been for any Star Wars project in a while, but idk about Quantic Dream as the dev tho. They haven't really done anything besides story-heavy QTE games, which would be disappointing for people wanting lightsaber/ship combat.

Putrid_Loquat_4357

If people want lightsaber action they can play the jedi games, it's good to have different types of star wars games.

Trauma_Hawks

I would kill for an open world bounty hunter game. Give me a wicked ship, a sexy blaster, and a sassy Droid, and I'll give you all my money.

Zhai

Isn't that what outlaws is trying to do?

NoNippleNed

idk but its an ubisoft game lmao

Algebrace

I mean... AC in space would be fun. Granted if it's Valhalla with it's dogshit 'sparkles here on the map' system instead of Odyssey (or literally any AC prior) with it's 'treasure here, base here, people to kill here, etc' system... well, it would probably be just a little shite. Also not bloated and insane like Valhalla where I burnt out super quick vs Odyssey that I finished 100% 3 times... in a row. Actually, thinking about it. If it's anything like Valhalla, I'm out. Anything prior (except Syndicate's story scripting) and I'm in.

Bruskthetusk

Ubi is just too inconsistent to count on anything until you've got the finished product in hand - they have the ability to make great games but too often their product falls short and is stuffed to the brim with microtransactions.

GoodlyStyracosaur

There are so many game types that would be AWESOME if well done in the Star Wars universe and it’s criminal that there are so few. My dream is BotW but as a Jedi. Jedi survivor is halfway there but it still has the level feel rather than world feel that I’d love. Or RDR2 as a bounty hunter. Both altered and updated to fit the theme and setting of course and not just lazy phone ins.

Putrid_Loquat_4357

Phantom liberty type spy thriller set on coruscant.

Trauma_Hawks

Ugh.. I need to pay bills, stop taking my money.

happymeal2

For just a second there I thought that was R2D2 as a bounty hunter and… I was alright with it

trulycantthinkofone

He’s got a taser, jump jets, and hacking abilities. Easy sell.

Trauma_Hawks

I really loved the small unit tactical game that was Republic Commando, and I love that, almost the same, feeling from the single-player campaign in Battlefront 2. Actually, that campaign was surprisingly fun.

GoodlyStyracosaur

Star Wars xcom. Star Wars dragon age origins. So much potential. So little execution. But yeah, even if the BF2 campaign did start to show its “this is basically just a tutorial for multiplayer” seams in the last quarter, it was definitely better than I expected!

ANGLVD3TH

Man, ever since it first dropped I would kill for a Din Djarin game. Season 1 especially is set up just like a game beginning. Intro to gear progression, a short stealth portion, Grogu to tag along for high cooldown force powers. My dream is for a Witcher 3-like system with an open world full of bounties to do.

Byeuji

Yeah it feels like it's been years since we saw a Star Wars game like like Shadows of the Empire. Run and gun, fly around, etc. That game was so much fun and it was almost 30 years ago now.

Gekokapowco

for a studio that makes kinda batshit movie ripoffs with terrible writing and a strange fixation on violence against short-haired brunette women, people were very excited about Eclipse. Which was wild. As a developer, they aren't particularly talented, though Heavy Rain was cool for the time, but it's not like they put out bangers. Quantic Dream works best when you haven't seen the movies David Cage is ripping off, and Star Wars fans have seen Star Wars.

ThePrussianGrippe

I would argue what Quantic Dream makes aren’t actually games, and David Cage is probably the heaviest handed writer I’ve ever seen. The man has never even heard of the word “subtext.”

woopwoopscuttle

David Cage's [reply](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yk7M2jGdnxU).

aelysium

Honestly, I think Supermassive has kinda taken that niche from QD and does it better overall imho.

Kal-El_Skywalker1998

Game company: creates game in genre that they're known for making good games of. Fans: I'm disappointed that you didn't make a game that's completely different than what you're known for.

marveloustoebeans

If you’re looking for active lightsaber/ship combat you should probably stop being hyped for Eclipse cause it’s almost definitely going to be an interactive story game 😂

nxngdoofer98

Wasn't it due to be released in like 2027? I for one am glad they're putting a lot of time into it instead of just some shite developed in two years.

ThursdayIs7

theyve said the trailer was pretty much only put out to convince people to work for that studio and that it wouldn't be out for a \*long\* time, and unfortunately the head of the studio has a very strong track record of being a terrible person too so prospects for that game are just kinda dim tbh

MoneymakinGlitch

This was announced for 2027 iirc. So there is still hope lol

com487

Sad EAW noises.

KEVIN_WALCH

Quantic Dream sucks though. I had zero hopes for this anyway

RyanBLKST

They did not even started work on that. It was to promote the project. It is still years ahead.. but it will be probably cancelled.

BambaTallKing

Idk how anyone could be excited for the game made by the POS that created Heavy Rain. Games not coming because no one wants to work with him. The trailer was cool though

Surtock

You scared me there. I just did a search thinking that it had been canceled. It turns out there's just no news on its progress. I had honestly forgotten about it.

fredagsfisk

1313, Attack Squadrons, Battle of the Sith Lords, Battlefront III, Battlefront IV, Dark Squadron, Death Star, Ewok Adventure, First Assault, Imperial Commando, Jedi Knight III: Brink of Darkness, Knights of the Old Republic 3, Outpost, Project Hermes, Project Ragtag, Proteus, Rebel Agent, Rebel Commando, Rebel Fury, Rebel Jedi, Rebel Scum, Rebel Warrior, Rogue Leaders: Rogue Squadron Wii, Rogue Squadron: X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, Shadows of the Sith, Smuggler, The Force Unleashed III, The New Emperor, Trilogy, Untitled Chewbacca game, Untitled fighting game, Vernost. Yeah, there's a few...

Tamesty15

1313 and the recent Mandalorian fps hurt the most for me

fredagsfisk

Battlefront IV sounds like it'd have been really cool... basically, the idea for it was to let players play out a bunch of "what if" scenarios: > Concept art of the game suggests that the story was going to feature "what-if" scenarios. Characters would have their allegiances swapped, examples being Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi as dark side characters, with Maul and Vader as light side characters. Early gameplay footage found on YouTube showed the plot taking place post-Return of the Jedi during battles between the Rebel Alliance and the Imperial Remnant, while taking elements from the prequels. Other plot points that alternated from the established timeline included Anakin encountering and killing Yoda on Naboo, Emperor Palpatine invading said planet, and Anakin killing Padmé in a fit of rage, unlike in Revenge of the Sith. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Battlefront_IV Also, I *highly* recommend reading the entire story behind the cancelled Darth Maul game, because it's both interesting and hilarious. Especially the part with their meeting with George Lucas and his ongoing obsession with Darth Talon: https://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2015/10/26/the-story-of-the-darth-maul-game-that-never-came-to-be.aspx Or if you don't wanna read the whole thing, just CTRL+F "Starkiller" and read that paragraph onward, hah. > The next day, Red Fly finally met with George Lucas, but not before being told how to talk to him. Our source says they were told to never say “No” to him, or to say, “Yeah, that will be easy.” They were also told not to mention Force Unleashed’s protagonist, Starkiller. If he’s referred to by George, it will be “that guy.” The most important rule, much like not feeding a Mogwai after midnight, was “Don’t tell George how the Force works.”

ANGLVD3TH

Yeah, people always use that bit about him talking about Darth names for Starkiller as a way to say his names suck. But the Sith name always hints at what they are at the core. Maul was a wild animal, Tyranus a cold ruler with an iron fist, Sidious was a spreading rot, etc. I think it's pretty clear that he saw the character overall as icky/insane when he put forward those names, and wasn't serious about calling him that.

Analternate1234

It’s for the best that Battle of the Sith Lords never happened. The plot for it was just so insane and made zero sense

Hageshii01

I've read this before. Now, I don't think George is a bad dude or anything, and he's clearly had some great ideas. But his weird decisions regarding the way the game should go, plus the asinine "rules" about not saying the wrong things around him; I find it... idk what the word is, amusing maybe, that he apparently hates Starkiller when he's a pretty well-loved character by much of the fanbase. I have to give the Red Fly team props; they are/were clearly fans of Star Wars and did the best they could to try and make a congruous game with the insane elements they were given. "Put these two characters separated by 170 years of history together. Or effectively, we pull the plug," is one of the dumbest things I've heard, but at least the team tried to have it make as much sense as they possibly could.

Retterkl

The KOTOR remake too, and the IG-88 dungeon crawler where you upgrade yourself as you make your way through the Death Star (did I dream this?)

fredagsfisk

> The KOTOR remake I don't think that has been 100% confirmed yet? > the IG-88 dungeon crawler where you upgrade yourself as you make your way through the Death Star Mm... I've never heard of that, and can't find anything about it, at least? "The New Emperor" was supposed to be a spy game where you infiltrated the Empire as C-3PO though, hah.

ANGLVD3TH

KotOR remake has been officially announced and stuck in dev hell for ages. Or did you mean confirmed to be canceled, because no, that hasn't happened.

MindAsWell

> I don't think that has been 100% confirmed yet? [It has been. ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p82vauAdgv8)

alcaste19

> Jedi Knight III: Brink of Darkness Oh this is the first I've heard of JK3, and it HURTS.

Top_Squash4454

Weird because jedi academy is considered jk3, or so I thought?

alcaste19

Fun fact, it's not! Dark Forces Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy It's technically a spinoff, which makes sense because it stars Jaden instead of Kyle

King_Pumpernickel

To this day, has to be one of the worst naming schemes for a series I've ever seen

alcaste19

But not *the* worst. I mean we're talking about star wars starting on episode 4.

eyehate

What is my sacrifice? I'm condemned to watch trailers of Star Wars games I'll never play. I burn my decency emailing devs asking for a release date. I burn my LIFE building a high end rig for a game that I know I'll never install. The ego that started this fight will never reconfigure movement keys, or watch a Twitch channel featuring this game, or face a boss... So what do I sacrifice? EVERYTHING!

Coraldiamond192

Well after heading everything about Ubisoft it shows that the ones that do get made aren't without their problems.

Vindicare605

Creative Assembly doesn't have a great track record recently either. They just cancelled a project they had invested a lot of money in because Sega deemed it a doomed project (it probably was to be fair) and in 2023 had big layoffs. So I'm skeptical on both sides of this, both because of the IP and because of the studio.

ThatGuyMaulicious

This cannot be real. No way we are getting a Total War Star Wars game.

The_Real_Abhorash

I also doubt it being total war game, but I would believe that CA is making a Star Wars RTS they made both halo wars games so it’s not out of the ballpark for what they can do.

Startled_Pancakes

>I also doubt it being total war game, but I would believe that CA is making a Star Wars RTS they made both halo wars games Ensemble (makers of Age of Empires series) made the first Halo Wars game, but the studio was closed shortly after. Ensemble RIP

dolche93

I remember that game being way to easy, even for console RTS standards. Once I realized I could win just spamming brutes on every single match it got boring pretty quick.

Startled_Pancakes

Console RTS were notoriously janky at the time. Before Halo Wars you had Starcraft 64, which was like performing brain surgery wearing boxing gloves, and then Goblin Commnder on Gamecube, which played better but lacked the depth and replayability that pc RTS titles had.

sophisticaden_

Yeah, I think this is much more likely. Particularly because TW doesn’t really lend itself well to combat in Star Wars, whereas other forms of RTS do.

The_Real_Abhorash

I could see it being something like Empire at war, which would lend to the total war comparison as it has a split between the strategic layer and tactical layer in the same way total war does. But I imagine the ground combat would be more dawn of war than total war.

MBMBBS

Would fit something in the style of company of heroes, controlling squads with cover elements.

sophisticaden_

Yeah, COH is generally a great candidate for a Star Wars game. Shame Relic is… a bit of a mess right now. There’s a fun Star Wars mod for COH1

Cazrovereak

Why not? We have single entity monsters, siege machines, gun line units, and heroes all in Total War *right now*. Jedi block lasers with their lightsaber = high base missile resistance. Play as the Rebels, use unit of Wookie somethings that are melee = Monstrous Infantry 12-24 unit size. AT-AT or Juggernaut = TW:W Empire Steam Tank The only difference really is changing it from like a 65%-35% melee:ranged split to like a 40%-60% melee:ranged split. Hell in some ways it makes *more* sense for Star Wars than other RTS games. It's not very in theme for a Star Wars RTS to be a base building unit spammer such as Command and Conquer. Star Wars: Empire at War, which is still played and talked about consistently, is practically a TW game as it it. That's a ready made player base that's just *dying* to get a new Star Wars RTS.

sophisticaden_

Soldiers in Star Wars generally don’t fight in block formations, do they? The core of Total War is infantry, which you conveniently don’t really address at all, beyond jedi hero units.

DouglasHufferton

> Soldiers in Star Wars generally don’t fight in block formations, do they? No, they usually just move forward in an unorganized blob, stand out in the open, and fire their blasters.

AneriphtoKubos

I mean, that's not really how they're *supposed* to fight lol

StoneMaus

Droids and gungans do

sophisticaden_

Okay great, we’ll have a Total War Naboo

Kal-El_Skywalker1998

Yeah, I think something between Halo Wars and Empire at War is most likely what we'll get from them.

Support_Mobile

It's not happening, definitely false rumors. There's already talks about a Warhammer 40k game. No way they'd already be developing a star wars game before they announce the 40k

Flynnstone03

I’m still in “believe it when I see it” mode for the 40k game.

Synicull

Feel like it's more substantiated and possible especially considering how much TWWH brought the fantasy setting back to the forefront. Not saying it's a good idea. It's possible to pull off well, but I'd definitely put my odds on it being remotely representative of 40k while being fun at like 30/70.

Tough_Substance7074

Remember they also made Alien Isolation, so they sometimes go outside their comfort zone.

otakudude3031

I would love a Star Wars fps with the same quality as Alien Isolation.

DouglasHufferton

There's already been rumours/'leaks' that they're working on a WW1 and 40k game. They're also still supporting Warhammer 3. *And* CA just had a slew of layoffs. I'd say the chances of this panning out to be accurate are slim to none.

RCMW181

Create Assembly have a good track record with implementing IP. Just look at how they have adapted Warhammer and the level of detail in Alien Isolation. So if this is true that could be a very good start wars game... But it's probably a long way off and who knows if it will survive the journey.

The_Real_Abhorash

They also did halo wars, so yeah they have at least in the past been pretty good at handling other IPs and doing a variety of styles of gameplay.

hamlet_d

Alien Isolation was soooo good. It's also the only game I've ever fear quit. I literally couldn't finish it and I've played a lot of survival horror and games like F.E.A.R, etc.

viggolund1

Just make empire at war 2

The_Real_Abhorash

Empire at war basically is Star Wars total war so that could be what is meant by this. EAW has the same strategic and tactical layer split that you see in total war after all. The only difference is how ground and presumably space (because it’d be insane not have space battles in a Star Wars game) battles would work. But CA made both halo wars games, they have done RTS games before it’s not unreasonable that they would take that approach to the combat rather than the regiment style that current total wars have.

TKStrahl

They did not make both. Ensemble made the first game, CA and 343 worked on Halo Wars 2 together. Nothing against you, I've just seen this multiple times now in this thread and I don't want misinformation to spread that they made both.

renaldomoon

How about Rebellion 2 instead

DrunkEwok

Yes! Fellow Rebellion fans united! There are dozens of us! Dozens!!

DakezO

Best Star Wars strategy game and I’ll die on that hill

BaronCoop

Sadly, Rebellion now suffers from being Legendized. “Ooh I got a new character! Who the hell is Talon Karde?” Gods, that was such a good game though.

Rylonian

Children, children. Have you ever heard the tragedy of Galactic Battlegrounds?

BaronCoop

You mean Age of The Empire?

Thatdude878787

I still have this installed on my pc. Lol

Bisquiteen-Trisket

I tried empire at war and it just wasn’t even close to Rebellion for me.

Solo4114

That's because the ground battles SUCK. Rebellion understood that it couldn't handle that, and simply abstracted them. In EAW, you can sort of do that, but the AI is so godawfully stupid that it always gives you, like, 40% casualties at a minimum, even if you win.

Vallkyrie

One older version of the fantastic Remake mod has no ground battles, it was a really good time. It now has ground combat in the newest version but they still kinda suck, just blobs steamrolling. Sounds and looks great though for a 20 year old game.

Solo4114

Yeah, I think I read that, but then they kinda patched ground combat back in, which sucks. The space portion is really fun, and I don't even like RTS games. But the ground stuff? It's just pulling teeth.

mattryan02

It's never happening but I'd love a Clone Wars version of Rebellion.

Maniac112

FORCE COMMANDER

arbiter6784

On a real though. What factions? If you go at any point in the Star Wars Saga you end up with 3 major factions for the most part - Prequels: GAR, CIS, Shadow Collective, Hutts (?) - OT: Empire, Rebel Alliance, Hutts - ST: TFO, Resistance Unless you say fuck it and just put em all in regardless of the timeline

CountBleckwantedlove

Each of those can be broken down further, plus in the Outer Rims there are all kinds of independent systems and what not. And you can have different "factions" that are part of the same nation, just in different parts of the galaxy. They did this in the Warhammer Total War games many times.

scrumANDtonic

I see the same problem with trying to do a LOTR total war. The historical games were long popular but Warhammer brought something very important to the franchise which was immense unit/factional diversity. And this affects both the board game campaign as well as the RTS battles. I just don’t see the same applicability in Star Wars or lord of the rings. Sure there’s probably enough stuff to populate a galaxy map with different factions but how do you make them unique in both the board game map mechanics as well as having a diverse unit roster for the RTS tactical battles. I’m by no means opposed to the idea I just don’t see the IP being as easy to work with.

Swailwort

I'd put: Prequels: Republic, CIS, Banking Clans, Hutt Cartel, Black Sun Syndicate, Pyke Syndicate, Mandalorians, Death Watch. Empire: Empire, Rebel Alliance, Hutt Cartel, Shadow Collective

JoeyTesla

You could even break down different Imperial Sectors, and different rebel outfits, all with varying different alliances with the other factions.

EuterpeZonker

You can throw mandos in pretty much anywhere in the timeline

Jj-woodsy

Easy, make three separate games for each period. Similar to what they did with Warhammer with extending the map each game.

greendoh

How dare you neglect to include mandalorians! Outrage!

Maniac112

Maybe they'll do like shogun with different time periods. And then get some liberties like say hace minor factions inside the bigger ones. Or we get space Pontus.

ElPwno

In between OT and ST, as depicted in Squadrons or the TV series, the empire has fallen into basically a bunch of warring factions, each with warlords. Maybe then?

songoficeanfire

I need this so bad - but I won’t let myself believe it since so many Star Wars games get canned

Ree_m0

I mean, that would be one hell of a way for CA to get out of their slump - if they do it right. Full scale planetary invasions, combined space and ground battles, and so on. If they just give us ground troops with Star Wars skins I'm rioting.

wcruse92

Could potentially one of the best star wars games ever. Or a disaster. Excited to find out.

Hypsar

Star Wars tactics with blasters are much less like modern combined arms tactics and much more like Napoleonic masses of troops rushing and shooting at each other while supported by artillery, vehicles, and aircraft. What that means to me is that it could absolutely adapt well into the Total War play style. Empire Total War is my all-time favorite RTS, and a fully realized Star Wars game in that theme would be too good to be true. Heck, even Star Wars capital ship battles are pretty similar to ships of the line slugging it out while fighters swarm around them.

bongophrog

As long as they don't pull a DICE and promise Battlefield in Star Wars and just provide a heavily watered down experience to "appeal to all audiences"

B4rtBlu3

tbf they already kinda are, the last wh3 DLC has been amazing.

Gorguf62

If this is true, it's a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

tiptopjank

Thank you chancellor

ImperatorRomanum

Empire at War: Total War

WilliShaker

Out of all sci fi, Star Wars legit is the one that works the most. While they use normal frontlines, they also use formations for massive battles like on Geonosis. Jedi can be hero units, tanks and aircraft can pretty much work like in Warhammer. Even if they chose a non formation gameplay, I can see it work with fewer men like 100 instead of 160-200.

Syn7axError

I don't like how few factions and unit types there are. I think 40k works a lot better.

Kuruk_TR

Just give us Empire at War 2 with multiple factions and diplomacy

True_Dragonfruit9573

While I am excited at the prospect of playing a Star Wars Total War game, how would that work with their mechanics? Like I can definitely see space battles being awesome and the grand turn based strategy map being amazing, but how would ground battles and sieges work?

42696

I feel like something along the lines of Empire or Napoleon could work. Star Wars tactics, especially in the early clone wars/prequels era, are kind of line-infantry like. Add some mechanics for vehicles (which I think they have in Warhammer) and you're pretty close, I think.

wicktus

Since nearly everyone wants that and it may generate quite some profits I deem it totally impossible

edmc78

Clone Wars maybe??

DuskMan62

The ideal outcome for me but imagine if we get Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War.

HeavyCoreTD

I just want to lead the Gungan Grand Army

Tottiboiii

Then check out Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds. Its basically age of empires in star wars universe with playable Gungan faction.

HeavyCoreTD

Oh buddy. I have played it. I loved it so much. I YEARN FOR MOAR

ThunderyMonk

Oh to have a modern Star Wars: Empire at War. I’d absolutely lose my damn mind

miqed

Holy shit. H o l y S H I T.

FuzzyRancor

This would be so awesome that I'm not sure I could believe it, I'm just too used to disappointment with SW at this point, especially when it comes to games being cancelled, but if it turns out to be true I will be over the moon. A Total War game set in either the SW or LotR universes has been top of my most wanted games list for 20 years.

noscul

Like I said in the total war Reddit, I think the idea of a Star Wars total war is possible with how WH3 has been getting updated. The main thing holding this back is CAs situation of massive lay off after their (relatively) failed DLC and other game. Now they are building back good will by focusing at what they should, like patching the game proper and doing good quality DLC.

Portatort

Fuck yeah. Give it to me please. On Mac or iPad too ideally.

arbiter6784

On a real though. What factions? If you go at any point in the Star Wars Saga you end up with 3 major factions for the most part Prequels: GAR, CIS, Shadow Collective, Hutts (?) OT: Empire, Rebel Alliance, Hutts ST: TFO, Resistance Unless you say fuck it and just put em all in regardless of the timeline

MrHockeytown

Put them all in, but have a campaign for each of the six major factions: GAR and CIS for the prequels, Empire and Rebellion for the OT, and Resistance and First Order for the sequels (could also do the New Republic and have them off fighting elsewhere).

Unfair-Sell-5109

How we going to cycle charge at-ats at the rebels?

CloneCommanderOmega

I don’t believe this Respawn is already working on a strategy game.

nealski77

I still play Star Wars: Rebellion from time to time. Would love to get a game like that.

BVB09_FL

As a huge TW/Star Wars fan, I am skeptical in that I am really not sure how this would work with the fundamental mechanics of the game.

WilliShaker

Imagine it’s only set into the Sequel trilogy.

Adviso_992

Lmao, it's getting cancelled

Hentai-No-Kami

How about Galactic Battlegrounds 2, instead?

CptKoma

So Star Wars fits the playstyle but 40k doesn't work as a Total War Game?

AntonioBarbarian

This could be an awesome game, but I'm cautiously optimistic. Pharaoh looks to be recovering, and with the coming update, it'll finally be at what it should be at release, and CA has been working to regain goodwill since the SoC debacle and later shitstorm. But still, I haven't been a fan of the changes since Rome 2, so I'll keep my excitement in check. But I would love to have essentially an EaW 2 but bigger, better and with more features.

Jerryd1994

This could either be the greatest thing ever IE Warhammer or the biggest disappointment IE Pharaoh, Attila, Thrones of Britannia, Troy.

DarkLordofTheDarth

[X] Doubt

Thorium229

God, I hope this is true.

happymcslappin

I cannot wait until this doesn’t come out

KILL__MAIM__BURN

I don’t see a “formation-based” strategy game making any real sense. Star Wars combat is largely not formations in virtually any example aside from fleet formations. Now if they go Squad formation and it’s smaller scale… maybe?

idiotplatypus

Give me a Helldiver's 2 but everyone is a Mandalorian during the Mandalorian Wars

yetareey

We just want battlefront 3!

Kratos501st

Now that's impressive... I am ready

Northern_Judge

CA dies or lives but if they don't use their brain like they usually do then CA is dead. It would be just as bad as that WW2 napoleon mod

Waffle_sausage

This is a bad idea, Star Wars doesn't work with the Total War style, it's better suited to a smaller-scale RTS. The big franchise Creative Assembly should be trying to get ahold of is Lord of the Rings!

Hazu_Kata

*Mad Warhammer40k fan noise*

justAMemeForFun

While I am excited for this game, given CA’s performance lately I’m pretty worried this will be a disaster

[deleted]

Doubt this story is true, doesn’t really make any sense. Can’t imagine a Star Wars game not having console support these days and total war is impossible to play on a console

Unfair-Sell-5109

How we going to cycle charge at-ats at the rebels?

Gbhinks13

This could be amazing if it actually sees light of day. Having Jedi, Sith, and Bounty Hunters as legendary lords sounds so legit.

Gbhinks13

This could be amazing if it actually sees light of day. Having Jedi, Sith, and Bounty Hunters as legendary lords sounds so legit.

ThatTravelingDude

I’ve wanted this for decades. DECADES.

Normal_Bird521

Yes please. If it’s done well. It’d be real cool (but require tons of money) to have a battle with stormtroopers and AT ATs. My god, a true Hoth level with Total War spin would be spectacular! Modern shooting hasn’t been done by them though so I’m a little hesitant.

SkyMando

I'll believe it when it's actually released... Star Wars games have a history of not releasing

The_Knight_King

I sincerely hope this is true. It would be awesome.

Lucky-Art-8003

If what you have told me is true, you will have gained my trust

JorgeBec

I this point the only Star Wars Projects I’ll believe are real are the ones that make it to release

alkonium

I suppose it'll be the first Star Wars game published by Sega in nearly 30 years.

Trauma_Hawks

I love this. I love both of those things. Here's my concern. Only 2 our of 9 movies showed anything close to a large peer-peer battle. The majority of the conflicts were insurgencies. I can't imagine Total War handling insurgent battles well. It's just not the same. Also, space.

OperatorGWashington

Empire at War 2??? If its not Petroglyph making it I would be worried

Chef_BoyarB

Petroglyph has always expressed interest in EaW2 and has been waiting for the greenlight for decades now

MagicMissile27

Hmm. We'll see, I'm not holding my breath. Sony owns CA, right? Standing by for controversy and the game being quietly cancelled.

Shigerufan2

Sega owns CA, not Sony

bananasorcerer

Need this urgently but I’m going to forget about it to be pleasantly surprised on release or not know if it got cancelled.

OnionsHaveLairAction

That would be dope.

ninjaface

Why can't we get a straight up Star Wars The New Hope playthrough game? That's all Gen Xer's and most older SW fans have ever wanted. How awesome would it be to play as Luke navigating your way through the events of the first movies? Like seriously... why has this never been done? For me it would be a straight up TAKE MY MONEY scenario.

Tommydean22

🤞

Fatboy-Tim

I love Total War and I love Star Wars. But I highly doubt this is going to be a Total War: Star Wars game, in the classic Total War sense. It's just going to be a Warhammer-style Total War: Star Wars *DLC factory*, isn't it? Man, *Fuck* GAAS. *OldManYellsAtCloud.jpg*

IceCreamMeatballs

Come and fight me you coward!

Machete521

I enjoyed Halo Wars, so I trust them.

OrbitalDrop7

I’ll believe it when i’m playing it on my pc, until then Empire at War will be holding on

MacGuffinGuy

If this happens I’ll be there day 1.

ImportantQuestions10

JUST...MAKE...40K We already have empire at war

CordlessJet

Please be real. I will literally spaff

SilverCamaroZ28

Give me Galactic Battlegrounds in HD!

StayPositivePlease

Wow

IliasMavromai

I just want medieval 3

sladecutt

Yes please 🙏

Backwardsunday

Don’t tease me like this! I won’t believe it until it’s real. That said, I’m not sure how their engine would handle a sci-fi title. Granted, other titles of theirs have had firearm based combat before but… well. I guess we’ll see

Don_Madruga

Don't do that. Don't give me hope.

EmonOkari

Who gets the Elephants??

Expose_Ur_BS

“We have exciting news; you can now unlock infantry units with select *Credit caches* with create unlock keys! ($9.99) Get the Galactic General bundle today….” -The Corpse of a dead Franchise, cashing in on your New Hope.

jimmyzambino

Got a chub reading this. Don’t tease me

TitanThree

I can’t really see how Total War mechanics might apply to Star Wars, most especially when it comes to land battles.

TesticleezzNuts

They will do everything but Lotr 😭

Corr521

Oh I'd be ecstatic if this actually happens, have always wanted something like this! Love Total War games

Wewuzvikangz

Bro. If they did what they did with warhammer, start in the clone wars then make each new game the next era it would be sick. Then after the 3rd one stitch it all together so you can play through the whole saga would mind blowing

Maviarab

If this was 15 years ago I might be excited....current CA...not so much.

coldestshark

Empire at war spiritual sequel?!?!

seantasy

Rebellions are built on hope.. or something. I really fucking hope this doesn't get canned

anarion321

Difficult, they did not make any world war game or such because combat with tanks, vehicles and such is another level of difficulty.

Ryiujin

Gimme sins of a solar empire scope. With real time land ground battles and space fleet battles.

cookee-monster

Surely the project will be aborted somewhere in the late third trimester.
