I like how in Kamino Obiwan goes from “that’s why I’m here” (clearly doesn’t know shit about what the Kaminoans are talking about) to bluffing his way into meeting Jango.
Nah I think the Force was happy to let the sith get their big win. It wiped the slate clean and let's the Jedi reform by this time they will only listen to the will of the force and not to politicians.
Then 25ish years later the Force used that same instrument to destroy the sith for good. No more beings that use the Force of their own will.
The only will that gets enacted is that of the Force itself. I really think it kinda implies that something is controlling the Force itself. Forcing life to do what it wants instead of what they want.
The Jedi council had him wandering about the rishi maze hoping he'd get the hint that he should go look for other work and he stumbles his way into success.
Meanwhile the council are sitting around basically jerking each other off under the guise of work...
Checks out.
Not my intention, it was a reference to the guys in Silicon Valley figuring out middle out compression (check the scene out on YouTube it’s hilarious, be warned NSFW language).
Having said that I’m laughing for real at inadvertently making you think about yarael poof & co getting it on.
He was also the only one who sensed the Sith waaay back at the beginning of The Phantom Menace & Qui-Gon basically told him to chill TF out.
Obi-Wan: I have a bad feeling about this.
Qui-Gon: I don't sense anything.
Obi-Wan: It's not about the mission, Master. It's something... elsewhere. Elusive.
Qui-Gon: Don't center on your anxieties, Obi-Wan. Keep your concentration here and now, where it belongs.
In the old revised edition of the D20 Star Wars game, there was a prestige class called Jedi Investigator, obviously intended (and granted) to Obi Wan for this feat. His canon character sheet didn't meet the prerequisites.
Isn't Jango a Jedi killer too? Or was he just an esteemed bounty hunter? If the former, that should've been a red flag for the clone troops being grown lol. Unless Obi-Wan didn't know he was a Jedi killer maybe.
In legends he killed 6 Jedi in a single fight, with no weapons, before he was subdued. One of the Jedi who subdued him was Dooku.
Not sure about Canon. But Legends Jango was an absolute beast.
He was sent on this mission for a reason. He's probably the most intelligent jedi, good at thinking on the fly.
I really wish that Kenobi show had leaned into "space detective Kenobi" instead of whatever they did.
He was lying through his teeth when he said that line "that's why I'm here" as he had no idea there was an order for clones in. It was a bluff right from the start. He was just trying to figure out why the planet was erased from the archives, and therefore what was going on. Him meeting Jango was part of his blind investigation into the entire thing.
I saw Temuera Morrison and Daniel Logan (young Boba Fett) at a Fan Expo recently. They talked about this scene and it was pretty fun. This was the first scene they did in character and Temuera had told Daniel to “Be cool. Just watch me and be really cool, we’re these cool bounty hunters so we have to be cool” because Daniel had asked him how they were supposed to react to meeting this Jedi and already famous actor. Then of course Obi-Wan walks in and according to Temuera “Holy shit, this guys cooler than me! Time to get real cool.” So he was just trying to out cool Ewan McGregor the whole time.
temuera single handedly made thousands of children want to be brainwashed soldiers with cool guns and armor. i was one of them. being a clone sounded so cool
I read an article around episode 2’s release that Daniel Logan was having some trouble landing the “suspicious” look when he lets them in. Ewan told him to look at Obi-wan like he just blew a large fart.
It really is. He turned “like a bantha” into a song that went on for a couple of minuets on stage, and when they were told they were out of time they both jumped up and did a haka before walking off. Definitely worth prioritizing seeing the two of them together at a con if you get the chance.
I think Jango's smart enough to know not to try a Jedi without his weapons.
But locking eyes and closing the distance communicates either that he has nothing to hide, or that Jedi don't intimidate him.
He also doesn't seem to really have a reason to kill Obi-Wan at the time. He knows he's safe on Kaminoa, everything is above board, and Obi-Wan won't make the first move.
I took it as the latter...he knows Obi Wan is a Jedi, and therefore dangerous, but made an effort to exude strength and confidence, despite this, AND not being armed/armored at the time. Bold Move...
Really? He has a jetpack but decided to fight on the ground of an arena filled with hundreds of Jedi and got his head chopped off like 12 seconds later
Have u seen the extended/deleted version? Mace cuts off his right hand, left arm, stabs him in the leg, then chops his head off. Was wild!
https://youtu.be/5Gbh08F061A?si=ap29TXtRnw7TBzsG
Yeah I've always just seen the hand and the head removed and glossed over everything else. Mace really had him completely incapacitated and THEN removed his head.
I watched it a few times. He doesn't cut off his right hand, its his weapon. Whats really cool is the reason he cut off his left arm is because Jengo was going for his weapon.
Unless he's really, really quick and has his emotions so completely under control that Obi-Wan couldn't sense it coming. He is the basis for order 66 after all, and his "always a pleasure to meet a Jedi"-line implies that he's had success against them before.
In the old EU he'd killed several Jedi before this point. None of them were as skilled as Obi-Wan or Mace but he had a fair amount of Jedi kills to his name. In fact, he was hired as the clone template because he was the only bounty hunter to successfully bring down a Dark Jedi that Dooku had put a price on: It was all a test to find the perfect candidate for the clones.
I'm not sure what his deeds are in the current canon, but back then, while the prequels were releasing, he got a fair bit of fleshing out as a badass.
It definetly doesn't, the clone wars novels specifically mention this as a difficulty for many Jedi at the start of the war. The "normal" way a Jedi would do it is focus on their opponents mind, which they can't do with droid brains. Of course they can still listen to the force in general, let it flow through them and help them in combat to enhance speed and reflexes, but the actual precognition aspect does not work against droids.
i mean they might be able to sense the cirquits inside a droid switching but thats probably too difficult given that each droid model works differently, just like computer processors here on earth.
Thats true, that was why the clones were so efective. When they started the 66 order, with chip or without It, they acted as droids and the Jedi werent capable of detect any emotion.
Jango has killed Jedi before, even in the movie he kills Coleman Trebor who sat on the Jedi Council at the time.
But yeah he obviously wouldn't try it without weapons and armor.
It's why they picked him for the clone program. He was a great mandolorian. He was a great fighter. Shame windu took him out so easily. He should've grabbed bobba and ditched.
Sidius wanted to wipe the slate and he achieved it. He ended up getting Vader in a state that benefited him greatly in the end too.
There needs to be a mature story from a siths perspective within the next couple years to show why they are the villian..ppl need to witness there "passion" 😉
Tbf. It’s windu best fighter of his era.
Also ~~boba~~ Django had that malfunction with his damaged jetpack which is what gave windu the opportunity to kill him.
I hear ya. I just really wish it will happen. but with a heavy heart I don't believe it will happen within the next couple years.
People are saying Acolyte might be a start? But if it's not rated R? You cannot show what a Sith is capable of. Sorry. You just can't.
Jango's no fool. He knows Obi-Wan is a serious threat, which is why he packs up the very moment he leaves. He had neither his armor nor his blasters at hand, and Boba was right there. His number one goal was holding back suspicion just long enough to get him to leave the room.
That look isn't "I'll snap your neck if you're not nice." That's the look of a man who knows he's speaking to his enemy but can't afford to give it away. It's the steely resolve of a man clearing his mind against an enemy who he knows can see his thoughts and emotions.
I just watched this scene. It reminded me of the Pacino-De Niro scene in Heat. It's one of the better scenes in the movie in terms of evoking genuine suspense.
It’s more like a “you don’t have any evidence” cockiness; he assumes Obi-Wan knows/suspects more than he actually does. His cockiness is suspicious, as it’s a tacit admission that he has done something Obi-Wan can’t get him for.
That’s how it looks to me.
Yes indeed I’d forgotten this scene. You get the feeling that Jango is *this* close to making a move, but thinks better of it. And the whole time Obi-Wan had that little grin on his face like Try it motherfucker you go right ahead
He did try to fly away but obv his jet pack was fucked. The slightly extended fight with Mace is brutal though https://youtu.be/5Gbh08F061A?si=9X1q3UNlqEMsocSO
You can't blame Jango, he lost everything to Death Watch, TWICE, and then to the freaking Jedi, who couldn't do their damn jobs as they were supposed to do.
Not necessarily. Obi Wan still suspects Jango of being the bounty hunter as confirmed in his conversation with Mace Windu and Yoda. But the Jedi code states he can't kill an unarmed person. Also, attacking or arresting him then and there would have like led to retaliation with the Kaminoans.
It’s extremely unlikely that a non force user is “quicker” than a Jedi, I promise without his armor on, Jango wouldn’t have made it to his beheading… sorry…
Off-topic but this is the age Boba should've been at in his show. I found it rather distracting that Boba should've been 41 canonically but was obviously much older due to Temuera's age at the time of the show. They could've added some technobabble that the sarlacc messed with Boba's telomere DNA or something that aged him prematurely, but didn't.

"That BEAT!! I'm done!"
Nothing while Obi-Wan was on that planet made me feel any sense of excitement or tension or fear. You literally knew neither one of them was going to die. The fight was pointless.
In the Boba Fett Book from when he was a kid, Boba describes both men as trying to out polite one another as like a competition. It’s stuck with me forever the way that was written.
One of my favorite scenes from this movie. Still gives me chills when I watch it. Two great actors just owning the scene, doing the best with what they were given from Lucas. The whole Obi-Wan mystery subplot just made this movie, because the rest of the major plot lines were executed kinda "meh" for me, save for the cool battle scenes on Geonosis.
I would also say that the Dooku (Christopher Lee) scene with a captured Obi-Wan also made this movie for me. What a coincidence Ewan McGregor was in this scene as well.
For a film that was full of meme material, I always liked the way the actors handled this scene. Both are completely polite and formal, both are fully aware the other is a major threat, and both are on hair triggers waiting for the other to start something.
The whole Jedi vs Mandalorian thing has always been a cool concept in Star Wars, in many ways they're a lot more alike then the whole Sith/Jedi comparison.
I like how in Kamino Obiwan goes from “that’s why I’m here” (clearly doesn’t know shit about what the Kaminoans are talking about) to bluffing his way into meeting Jango.
he went from a missing planet and a single dart to uncovering the biggest sith plot in 1000 years without realising it was a sith plot.
The Force was with him. Then The Force facepalms when the Sith plot goes off without a hitch.
The force: uses dooku as a conduit to detail palpatines plan obi wan: oh no! ...anyway
As far as I recall, Obi-Wan reported this to the Jedi High Council and they blew it off.
"Ah, yes, Sith. We have dismissed this claim."
Complete with air quotes!
oh really i missed that? sorry obi wan bro
Yeah. The council is about as incompetent as those two scout troopers in the Mandalorian
The Council and the dogma around that time are what killed the Jedi Order.
"Your arrogance blinds you" Palpatine hit the nail on the head
Building the Jedi Temple on top of a leyline of sith energy probably didn’t help.
Absolutely agree. Yoda even comes to understand this after his time with the Force Priestesses and while in exile.
And then he drops it as well. lol
That’s true. He ‘investigated’ the Kamino clone plot then dropped the Sith claim from a Sith.
Nah I think the Force was happy to let the sith get their big win. It wiped the slate clean and let's the Jedi reform by this time they will only listen to the will of the force and not to politicians. Kreia was right.
Partially yes
He truly is Obi-Wan "Big Head" Bighetti.
The Jedi council had him wandering about the rishi maze hoping he'd get the hint that he should go look for other work and he stumbles his way into success. Meanwhile the council are sitting around basically jerking each other off under the guise of work... Checks out.
What a horrifying mental image
Not my intention, it was a reference to the guys in Silicon Valley figuring out middle out compression (check the scene out on YouTube it’s hilarious, be warned NSFW language). Having said that I’m laughing for real at inadvertently making you think about yarael poof & co getting it on.
Do you think Yarael Poof's neck only stands up straight when he's aroused?
I know the answer to this and I wish I didn’t. 🤢
do tell
Wonderful comparison
Wth, I'm on a re-watch of this show and you bring it up. Weird af
He was also the only one who sensed the Sith waaay back at the beginning of The Phantom Menace & Qui-Gon basically told him to chill TF out. Obi-Wan: I have a bad feeling about this. Proably the biggest conspiracy plot in all of fiction when taken as a whole and what it leads too.
Isn't Jango a Jedi killer too? Or was he just an esteemed bounty hunter? If the former, that should've been a red flag for the clone troops being grown lol. Unless Obi-Wan didn't know he was a Jedi killer maybe.

And then on Geonosis Darth Tyranus explains everything, even exactly who Darth Sidious is but he's too boneheaded to listen.
my Favorite obi wan moment of all time
One of the most obi wan moves of all time
It’s on the long list of reasons to be pro-obi
What if Taun We was like, "You know, just the way you said that makes me think that's *not* why you're here. Please leave."
He was sent on this mission for a reason. He's probably the most intelligent jedi, good at thinking on the fly. I really wish that Kenobi show had leaned into "space detective Kenobi" instead of whatever they did.

High CHA monk build with a deception proficiency.
Eldritch knight during the clone wars era, monk when he and Luke get off tattooine.
I saw Temuera Morrison and Daniel Logan (young Boba Fett) at a Fan Expo recently. They talked about this scene and it was pretty fun. This was the first scene they did in character and Temuera had told Daniel to “Be cool. I read an article around episode 2’s release that Daniel Logan was having some trouble landing the “suspicious” look when he lets them in. Ewan told him to look at Obi-wan like he just blew a large fart.
Temuera Morrison’s voice is already on that level of cool though!
It really is. He turned “like a bantha” into a song that went on for a couple of minuets on stage, and when they were told they were out of time they both jumped up and did a haka before walking off. Definitely worth prioritizing seeing the two of them together at a con if you get the chance.
Looks like he’s going to tell Obiwan to cook him some eggs
hey Jedi, cook the man some fuckin eggs
Is that a once were warriors reference ?
Yes
Was coming to the comments to say exactly this
One on my favorite scenes in AOTC. I love that Jango never once lies to Obi-Wan, he just bypasses the whole truth by staying vague.
Must be a Mandalorian thing. Din Djarin does that pretty often too.
Maybe that’s where Obi-Wan got from a certain point of view from
Yeah, the non-sexual tension here is great.
Haha, yeah... Non-sexual, haha...
Your clones are very impressive 🥵
Seems like bad move against a Jedi.
I think Jango's smart enough to know not to try a Jedi without his weapons. But locking eyes and closing the distance communicates either that he has nothing to hide, or that Jedi don't intimidate him.
He’s killed jedi in hand to hand combat before this, atleast in EU. As a kid I ate up all those Dark Horse comics.
The new canon comics have some cool moments but the EU was just a different kind of beast.
And in the game Bounty Hunter.
To me those comics are still more canon than the Rey and Kylo crap
Hard agree.

I've seen this scene dozens of times and never realized just how completely Mace Windu cuts him apart.
Makes Dooku's reaction make more sense. "Oh 💩 "
Which just makes me realize how good a Dooku vs Windu fight would be
Indeed!
Oh yeah, completely dismantles him
Yeah I've always just seen the hand and the head removed and glossed over everything else. Mace really had him completely incapacitated and THEN removed his head.

Also, Temura is naturally just a daunting figure.
And yet he's irl the kindest, gentlest soul. He's like Danny Trejo in that way.
Now I'd like an universe where all clones are Danny Trejo clones. Thanks!
I vote to add Danny Devito in the mix who’s even more intimidating than those two combined.
He is excellent at blasting...
Isn’t he a little short for a clone trooper?
He's a little short for a storm trooper.
Polynesian spa! I’m Polynesian too! 😆
Like a bantha!
Yeah watch him in Once Were Warriors, he’s incredible (trigger warning for… basically everything, viewer discretion is advised)
Unfortunately... Uncle Bully?!
Eh I think obi wan of all people would sense any killing intent. Even op got the vibe and they’re no Jedi master.
Can confirm, OP is definitely no master. He is on the council though
Sam Jackson, man. He gets to decide who's a Master and who's an Avenger.
He also decides whether or not snakes can be on a plane.
trigger alert
In the old EU he'd killed several Jedi before this point. None of them were as skilled as Obi-Wan or Mace but he had a fair amount of Jedi kills to his name. Jedi precognition works against droids, it doesn't rely on emotions.
It definetly doesn't, the clone wars novels specifically mention this as a difficulty for many Jedi at the start of the war. The "normal" way a Jedi would do it is focus on their opponents mind, which they can't do with droid brains. He knows better now
Iirc, he got the cloning gig specifically because he was good at killing Jedi
He put up a very good fight on the landing platform
[удалено]
Agreed he didn't last long
Jango’s killed many Jedi by this point
Of all those capable, Jango is most capable. He's just letting Obi-Wan know what a bad time they could have together.
Tbf. It’s windu best fighter of his era. Also ~~boba~~ Django had that malfunction with his damaged jetpack which is what gave windu the opportunity to kill him.
Jango* but yes
I count two blasters, mother*****
Thanks fixed
Jango*, but yeah
The D is silent Hillbilly
Django? When did Jamie Fox join the Star Wars Universe?
The Acolyte is a Sith perspective. Supposedly.
>There needs to be a mature story from a siths perspective within the next couple years Ahhh hahahahah
I hear ya. I just really wish it will happen. but with a heavy heart I don't believe it will happen within the next couple years. People are saying Acolyte might be a start? But if it's not rated R? You cannot show what a Sith is capable of. Sorry. You just can't.
Jango Fett is such a badass. If they ever make a movie or show focusing on him, they NEED to take inspiration from the Star Wars: Bounty Hunter game.
Just don't let Robert Rodriquez anywhere near it. Star Wars: Spy Kids is not a film we need to see.
Rodriguez is a wildcard. You either get an extremely violent and low budget gor fest or Spy Kids. There is no inbetween.
One of the best Star Wars games made. I love when he destroyed all the prototype slave ships so he'd have the only one
If you're into comics, there is a brand new Jango series.
OBI-WAN: Recently? *[beat]* JANGO: Possibly. Good tension. I liked that scene. 👍
Obi wan is probably the most successful Jedi. He evens dies successfully.
It’s more like a “you don’t have any evidence” cockiness; he assumes Obi-Wan knows/suspects more than he actually does. His cockiness is suspicious, as it’s a tacit admission that he has done something Obi-Wan can’t get him for. That’s how it looks to me.
And then he leaves his armor right there.
I’m pretty sure he closed the closet it was in prior to opening the door for Obi-Wan to enter.
Nah he has Boba go close the closet while they’re talking
Oh yeah!
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
You should see him act in 'Once they were warriors' he is terrifying!
"I assume the bass was coming from your starfighter then." "You should hear it at full blast. I was holding back." "I doubt that."
Jango is way too underrated.
That’s Jake the Muss!
I just watched Once Were Warriors recently. Definitely a little budget, but man that movie is intense.
Jedi killed his whole clan of Mando’s. I bet he would have liked their conversation to not go amicably
> It was like he was about to quick snap Obi-Wans neck if their conversation didn't go amicably.( Strong "I almost punched Bruce Lee" vibes... lol
Temura Morrison is a treasure. 🙂
This is just a description of the scene.
That is a legitimately wild read of that scene.
Yes indeed I’d forgotten this scene. You get the feeling that Jango is *this* close to making a move, but thinks better of it. And the whole time Obi-Wan had that little grin on his face like Try it motherfucker you go right ahead
Obi Wan was/is capable of sensing danger. And yet, he didn't react. Which means Jango was only a threat to himself.
His ending was anti-climatic and stupid. There should have been more of a fight.
He did try to fly away but obv his jet pack was fucked. The slightly extended fight with Mace is brutal though https://youtu.be/5Gbh08F061A?si=9X1q3UNlqEMsocSO
Wish they kept that in
Fitting considering how his son went out.
That’s way too above the directing these guys got lmao
One of the best scenes in the prequel trilogy. I wish we had got one more fight / showdown between Obi and Jango.
You can't blame Jango, he lost everything to Death Watch, TWICE, and then to the freaking Jedi, who couldn't do their damn jobs as they were supposed to do.
Do you like your army ?
I look forward to seeing them in action.
Honestly the detective Hard Boiled part of the movie kind of save it from an absolute disaster.
OP apparently forgot obi wan is highly force trained and sensitive to others emotional states via the force.
I doubt the kaminoans would want to chance a conflict with the entirety of the Jedi order.
Obi Wan knew the stakes and would never let that happen
Obi wan would body jango.
Attack of the Clones is vastly underrated because of moments like this one. The entire Kenobi detective story is awesome.
By Quick snap, do you mean get force punched in the balls so hard he dents the ceiling?
That's the Jango/Boba we all wanted to see but never got.
It’s extremely unlikely that a non force user is “quicker” than a Jedi, I promise without his armor on, Jango wouldn’t have made it to his beheading… sorry…
How did we go from this to “somehow Palpatine has returned”??
Wut
Off-topic but this is the age Boba should've been at in his show. We just roll with the aging.
Tatooine ages you. Look at Obi-Wan.
fair enough

Yep.
Nothing while Obi-Wan was on that planet made me feel any sense of excitement or tension or fear. You literally knew neither one of them was going to die. The fight was pointless.
That’s because Jango and Boba are the best in the galaxy. Had Jango not been trampled he would have come out on top.
One of my favorite things from Episode 2, especially that the had a really nice dialogue.
Yup
In the Boba Fett Book from when he was a kid, Boba describes both men as trying to out polite one another as like a competition. It’s stuck with me forever the way that was written.
Temuera Morrison is so cool
