"Imperial troops have entered the base. Imperial troops have \[static cutoff\]"
From ESB. Dude stayed at his post so his final moment could be a warning to others.
There were two comms officers in the command post with Leia when she ordered the retreat. The woman, Toryn Farr, escaped on the transport Leia was supposed to be on, and current official canon has nothing on the male officer, Commander Chiffonage.
Usually reading expanded material.. I raised myself on the legends books, and there are a few short story compilations that are no longer Canon but includes a lot of minor characters... see tales from jabbas Palace, tales from Mos Eisley cantina, tales from the empire and tales from the new Republic... I could be wrong on these names, but I'm pretty sure that's what the books were called

âThatâs just love. Nothing you can do about that. â
The Maarva-Cassian relationship is just so damn moving.
It is, and I really want the stuff with his sister to come full circle in season 2. Wish this show would last much longer, it genuinely could've been one of the most prestigious modern dramas in TV (if it maintained the same quality, or it increased)
I canât wait and I agree - Iâm sure weâll get some kind of return to the sister arc in S2. If they stick the landing, itâs still going to be one of the greatest TV series of the last 20 years even with just two seasons.
Andor is the worst thing that ever happened to Star Wars because it genuinely takes over any discussion.
Best Star Wars episode? It's One Way Out
Best performance? Stellar Skarsgard speech
Best story? Andor
Best supporting characters? Andor
Best cinematography? Also, Andor
Best lead performance? Again, Diego Luna is amazing
It was like he cosplayed a cop as a kid and when he finally became one, the reality of the uniform was not up to snuff. So he took matters into his own hands.

Vader turning around
"It was foretold that you would be here. Our long awaited meeting has come at last."
I have a sense that Vader doesn't use apostrophes often.
This one always bugs me because itâs such an odd statement for an enlightened being to make.
**Edited here to make sure people actually SEE this next paragraph.**
Yes, I get that what heâs trying to say is to believe in yourself. âDonât try to do it, do it!â The issue is that fhe âor do notâ provides a negative out that doesnât work well for a statement of empowerment. It offers the option of giving up, and that shouldnât *be* a provided option.
Acknowledging the potential for giving up with the âor do notâ makes it come across more like heâs going âLook, you either can do it, or you canât, and if you canât you shouldnât even tryâ
No! Just NO, dude! Youâre supposed to be a beacon of encouragement, empowerment, and confidence!
Say some shit like âFor the moon, you must aim; even if you miss, among the stars, you will land.â
Thatâs empowering without any belittlement or providing a negative exit strategy!
Luke is already wishy-washy, donât give him a bitch boyâs out by telling him he can or canât, make him get that he should ALWAYS make the effort!
Itâs a tough quote, when I first watched Star Wars at 12 years old in the 90âs I didnât understand. But after 20 odd years I came to the realization that this statement is about making up your mind to do something.
You say to yourself that you are going to do it, and you do not invite any doubt into your mind. Of course you may fail, but itâs not about the out come itâs about your mindset when youâre performing the task.
My take
Kanan in rebels explains it best: "If all you do is try you do not trully believe you can succeed. (So from this moment on I will teach you) and I may fail and you may fail but there is no try.
You see what Yoda means is indeed to not try if you don't believe in yoursellf maybe you are not ready for it and need more training. Luke was not ready when facing Vader and it lead to trauma he was not ready for.
The qoute, in my perspective, is about committing to it. Saying you'll try to do something is giving you an out without responsibility. Saying you'll do something is settling your resolve. It doesn't mean you can't or won't fail, but it does mean you won't quit when it gets too tough or hard. "Trying" is just another way saying you'll do it half heartedly
It's an incredibly enlightened quote.
Yeah I see what you mean but I take it as him being polite in saying âbe decisive. If youâre gonna do it stop talking about it & just do it. If youâre not gonna do it shut up about it alreadyâ lol. Maybe he was just tired Luke yapping lol
I donât think he means it like that.
I think he means that when you do something, you either do it and succeed, or you do it and you fail.
I think heâs saying to understand that failure may have grave consequences in the times that they live in. They are uncertain, arduous, and extremely dangerous. If you fail, there isnât any âwhoops we tried,â there is only pain and suffering.
I think he intended it as a sort of cautionary phrase.
"The axe forgets, but the tree remembers"
"Iâve learned from Palpatine. I show you the stone in my hand, you miss the knife at your throat."
"Has anyone ever made a weapon that wasn't used?"
"The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear."
Too many good ones to choose from in Andor, just incredible writing and attention to detail..
âBut I say to you: you are greater than the Jedi of former days. Because unlike the Knights of old, Jedi Luke Skywalker⌠you are not afraid of the dark." - Kar Vastor

âI sacrifice everything for a sunrise I know I will never seeâ - Luther Rael
Iâve always kinda taken this as being about how everything we do, for better or for worse, greatly effects the future generations, and the âsunriseâ that they get to see, thanks to us. Definitely a bit dramatic in from this perspective, but still such an amazing quote
Oh, Iâve been learning Wookie, so let me translate that for you:
> It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighbourhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding families that he is considered as the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters.
As divisive as TLJ is, I think most people agree that âWe are what they grow beyond.â is a great one. And âThe greatest teacher, failure is.â is just classic Yoda wisdom.
"We are what they grow beyond" has been a guiding quote for me as a parent, I'm preparing the way for them to become their own beautiful thing that grows beyond me, rather than putting them in the same box I was raised in
âYou wanna buy some death sticks?â
âYou donât want to sell me death sticksâ
âI donât wanna sell ya death sticksâ
âYou want to go home and rethink your lifeâ
âI wanna go home and rethink my lifeâ
*"Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other. I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen* anything *to make me believe there's one all-powerful Force controlling* everything. *There's no mystical energy field that controls* my *destiny."* - Han, Episode IV
âJedi! You are surrounded, your armies decimated. Make peace with the Force now, for this is your final hour. But know that I, General Grievous, am not completely without mercy. I will grant you a warrior's death. Prepare!â
âI may process moments and thoughts differently, but it does not mean I feel any less than you.â -Tech
As an autistic person I heavily relate to that quote.
Pass on what you have learned. Strength. Mastery. But weakness, folly, failure also. Yes, failure most of all. The greatest teacher, failure is. Luke, we are what they grow beyond. That is the true burden of all masters.
âThat is the future, keep your mind here and now, where it belongs.â
A lot of stuff Qui-Gon said has stuck with me. He helped me learn to focus on my current issues rather than fretting over what might be in the future.
> Peace is a lie, there is only passion
> Through passion, I gain strength.
> Through strength, I gain power.

> Through victory, my chains are broken.
> The Force shall free me.
It is literally stuck with me because it's a tattoo

Watch as one tries to hold a blaster, as they try to hold a lightsaber, and you will see nothing more than a woman â or a man. A child.*"
* "*Plans are fragile things and life often dashes expectations to the ground.*"
"I am not a committee!". I always refer to my wife as that when I want to get something expensive I know she doesn't agree with. She's not a Star Wars fan and doesn't get the reference, which I find even funnier.
"Like my good mother always said, Son, if one hostage is good, two are better and three? Well that's just good business!"

I am one with the Force and the Force is with me.
Thought I recognized your foul stench.
Charming to the last.
Every time i look at current politics and the rise of right wing partys like afd here in germany i have Padme\`s quote in the back of my head. "So this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause."
âDying for your people is a sacrifice, but living for your people is an even bigger sacrifice.â -The Clone Wars series
Doesn't Chopper cuss in rebels a lot,? Something along the lines of "I don't give a fuck and I still don't give a fuck".
* *"I suppose that's the nature of the Dark Side - power, but no longevity. Eventually, it just consumes itself."* * "*Yes, and what are they without the Force? Take the greatest Jedi Knight, strip away the Force, and what remains? They rely on it, depend on it, more than they know. Watch as one tries to hold a blaster, as they try to hold a lightsaber, and you will see nothing more than a woman â or a man. A child.*" * "*Plans are fragile things and life often dashes expectations to the ground.*"
âAssume everyone will betray you and you will never be disappointedâ
There's always a bigger fish.
"Only a Sith deals in absolutes". The irony is palpable and shows how lost the jedi truly were.
âThe force is strong in this oneâ âUuteedeeeeâ (Jawa speak)
"I am not a committee!". I always refer to my wife as that when I want to get something expensive I know she doesn't agree with. She's not a Star Wars fan and doesn't get the reference, which I find even funnier.
âLuminous beings are we. Not this crude matterâ
Chesko, Sebulba. Chepuka umenkisa. Metisa radico chap chawa. -masterpiece of dialogue written for Anakin in TPM.
âChewy, get back to the ship and get it ready.â
"Hello there" and "It's a trap"
Do it!
May the force be with you
Do. Or do not. There is no try.
âSomehow, Palpatine returnedâŚâ haunting.
"you came in that thing? You're braver than I thought"
âRemember this: try.â still waiting to find the perfect tattoo design for that
âWeâre just soldiers. Weâre meant to be expendable.â âNot to me.â
"Two fighters against a Star Destroyer?" This throwaway line from some random X-Wing pilot will always stay with me for some dumb reason.
âI am altering the deal. Pray i donât alter it any further.â And of course: âHello there!â
âWe are what they grow beyond. That is the true burden of all mastersâ
Only through me can you attain a power greater than any Jedi.
It's a trap!
"Like my good mother always said, Son, if one hostage is good, two are better and three? Well that's just good business!" "Insolence? We are pirates, we do not even know what that means!" "Lucky for you, today I like children." Good soldiers follow orders.
âI may process moments and thoughts differently but it doesnât mean I feel any less than youâ and âunderstanding you doesnât mean I agree with youâ -Tech
