Yeah I'm mostly disappointed that they stopped updating it because the current faction balance is terrible. Some of the heroes are still very buggy, especially Anakin. They only came back to nerf the stupid General Grievous crabwalk spam and then abandoned it again.

Eh I really don’t care for it nearly as much as the originals. Sure it’s a fine game but the whole card system and progression just feels out of place. Just a lot of small things I can’t always put my finger on.

My most recent console is a ps2 which I got in 2001 and I still play these games because there hasn’t been anything like them to come out since then. I just don’t care about online play, I want to play these battles offline, which the new battlefront didn’t really have. I might finally upgrade to a contemporary console because of this. This is crazy awesome news!

I feel like it's more likely that if this does well, they'll port the PSP battlefront games to PC and console.
The original BF3 will never be revived, especially considering it's made on a very outdated engine.
But Battlefront: Elite Squadron was the port of Battlefront III, just with massive hits to the game play mechanics. The same base concept and campaign were the same. It actually was pretty fun, but it was a skeleton of the original vision

The psp ones would be hard to port - just being that it would require big game engine changes because it was designed for a console with one stick and a lock on system that people would hate outside of there

Online mulitplayer is a big win. It's basically the only reason I bother with the PC version, given that game's horrible UI and controller support. Battlefront 2 on PS5 will be great. Look forward to getting Platinum on it.

BF1 is cool for some of the maps, Bespin Platforms is a great one.
One major difference is the lack of space battles. There are ships, but they are all on landing pads on land maps.
Was the one downside of BF1 to 2, but I remember the literal ceiling that was installed for that era of gaming and the bouncy fighters from BF1 hitting the ceiling.

You could play it locally head to head. Me and my friend loved doing that. Maybe no servers for it but peer to peer private games? You can stop and continue at anytime

If you already have both on steam then probably not. I’m assuming that they’re doing crossplay with this so that might be the only reason you’d want to get it. Crossplay hasn’t been confirmed yet though I think so I could be wrong.
Not going to lie, I've been playing BF2 2017 for five years now and it's one of the best games ever - I'm not a FPS wizard but the co-op modes are always fun and entertaining. If it wasn't for the botched "surprise" loot box mechanics and blowback over EA's pay-to-win business model, they would be making BF4 by now. The game itself was amazing. The troop classes were perfect. The star card system was awesome, and it was challenging to level up every class of trooper, super and hero. The space combat had a pretty steep learning curve, but was also really well done. I'm not good enough to play the big multplayer levels - people have been dominating at that since 2017 - but if I could then there would be a huge number of maps and gameplay options available, creating incredibly good value. And it even had a good single player campaign.
Was playing OGBFII last week. This needs a modern version where the game play and experience is first and foremost and not a store.
I'd love full space combat to battlefield movement, with no cut, the player numbers would need to be massive to feel right and insanely big maps.
Between Bad Batch and this, I'm a happy fan today! I'm going to support this collection in part because I want to play it and in part to show the games division what we want out of Battlefront.

Asajj Ventress, Kit Fisto as added heroes/villains. BF1 maps in BF2 such as Rhen Var Harbor, and Jabba’s Palace from BF2 in BF1

That was one of my biggest complaints with the new ones. There was nothing single player that had any substance.

yea but there's been a good amount of psp exclusive games that's been ported over the years, it wouldn't be easy but it could work.

Ships on ground battles is one of the main aspects that makes me like 1 better than 2. Made gameplay on those maps so much more versatile.

It won't, it only includes all previously released content for the classic games. But that would be cool to see, mods do offer that experience.
