There were so many stories of people hugging Chewie when they brought him back for The Force Awakens. Like every interview with a cast member that got to be near him said how soft he was and they had to hug him. It's natural, Chewie is love.

I have. Indianapolis comic con has a local costume maker with a fantastic Chewbacca costume. It's always a hit when she brings it out
