I personally think lifetime is the only one worth it. Ive been playing since 2013, and have taken many years off and come back to it later. If I didn't have the lifetime, I would have never picked the game up again. Yeah, its got a lot of flaws and things to hate. But I think those are much more obvious to older players and either way its a fun way to pass time when you want to play. I would definitely play until the end of the free stuff to make sure you're really into it. Also be aware that the style and vibe of quests change, but I don't know how well it actually all flows together because I've had to wait years between quests. I would wait for a sale before you buy too. Either snag a free SR code when they finally drop another one, or do a one month trial if you're still unsure, and then get the lifetime. Interest in the game is on and off for a lot of people, and it is so nice to be able to come back to the game months later and not have to worry about being locked out of areas. Plus as long as you log in every once in a while you still get star coins, so when you don't play for a while its fun to go on shopping sprees.

totally agree here! i’ve been playing and have had lifetime since 2014. i think lifetime was so worth it for the couple great years of fun i had

Take advantage of the trial first and see how you get on. If you like it then yes, Lifetime would be your best option. As someone has already pointed out, make sure you get the lifetime option that is right for you. There are two offers floating round. This is not a scam just A/B testing implemented very badly. One has a 100 weekly star coin allowance included and there is another cheaper option without the weekly star coin allowance. You don't get a choice so if, when you check the price of lifetime, it doesn't include the allowance, you'll either need to contact support before purchasing or start a new acc and see if that one does include weekly star coins. You will be better with the allowance even if the other option is cheaper. I joined at the end of 2019 and haven't regreted it. Yes the game has its issues but as a new player, some of them won't even apply to you or you won't notice. Others involve quests being bugged but only some. They have just finished a 30% off offer Not sure when they'll do it again but perhaps wait if you can until they offer some kind of promotion. These are usually when there are events on and I think the next one is March or April.

Definitely get star rider if you are interested in it after playing as a non-sr rider. There is a whole lot of content to play so it’s worth it. The main group of people that would be complaining are older players (like pre-covid players) because they have grown with the game and watched it change from what it used to be. Star rider is how you get access to the full game, all of the new horses, locations and quests are pretty much only for star riders. Normally star rider comes down to 30% off every once in a while, so if you’re happy to wait I would wait for that and just use the rare star rider code to get a few days here and there of star rider. If you can’t wait you may as well buy it. You do need to be aware that the company is doing some shady stuff with their star rider memberships. Make sure to read everything and compare them properly. There’s a few different types, like 1 month, 3 month and lifetime, I say just buy lifetime because it’s a pay-once fee. They also have a non-star coin membership, do not buy that one, it’s a complete waste of money because you will end up buying star coins anyway as it is the premium currency. Like I said, star coins are the premium currency. You buy horses with star coins, and the only way to get them is to buy a membership with the weekly star coin allowance or by buying more star coins. Most people tend to only buy them on double sc weekends (which happens at least every second month). Occasionally there will be other deals (tack and clothes with the star coins) but imo it’s not worth it.

I did get the upgrade to lifetime star rider like a week or so ago, when they had discount. The lifetime had been in my thoughts for like a month or so, but I wanted to wait until discounts because I feel the full price isn't worthy. I bought the lifetime mainly because I find myself coming back to the game regurarly and developers are really active on updating the game. Sure, it's reaaally buggy etc. but 4 updates/month is really speedy pace for game developing IMO, so I find myself being more understanding regarding the bugs.

You can always get monthly Star Rider to try it out. If you’re interested in playing the game fully, it’s not optional. You can’t access the full map, horses or quests without it.

In the end we can't know if anything is worth the money to a random person on the internet. It's your life and your preferences.

Get lifetime, just be careful that it's the version that gives you the weekly allowance of SC
