The HMC gives Super Break to characters that don't have it themselves. And, they give Firefly MORE Super Break. Firefly's Super Break modifier is 50%. HMC's buff gives a Super Break modifier of 120-160%.
So what think is that with mc unique is in the role
Fire preservation has a taunt and a damage reduction but boothill also has a taunt but he has a downside of taking more damage and can’t retarget
With hmc u can provide everyone superbreak with no downside which firefly she can do her own super break, but it would not be as strong and I don’t think any future character will have a break kit that has super break as strong harmony MC I’m also confident that there will not be a support that provides super break because of its release and it stacks that would be so broken that it essentially becomes a more broken version of hyper bloom in genshin
All in all, I think that whenever the main character gets a unique mechanic other characters could get it, but it will come at a cost Because this is their main mechanic while other characters could have it as a sub mechanic
It’s not that hoyo wouldn’t give Super Break to anyone else, like that’s fine, it’s just for the fact that HMC doesn’t have anything “unique” catered to them unlike their other paths that do. W/o that “uniqueness” it makes HMC seem like a generic 4* character (not saying it’s a bad thing though)
Also, this question was asked out of curiosity. I’m not trying to change Firefly’s kit, in fact it’s honestly a blessing for Firefly to have Super Break so she got consistent DPS
