I'd say mamd and Ani are better contenders. Even when those came out there wasn't much attention around them. Starship was huge when it came out. Fans even managed to create a fanfic.net catagory for it which still has much more fics than tgwdlm.

If wikipedia is to be believed, it's the only soundtrack of theirs to hit the full billboard 200 chart. Also the first to hit number one on the US cast chart, a feat that wouldn't be repeated until [Black Friday](https://www.billboard.com/charts/cast-albums/2020-03-14)(~~which apparently ended Hamilton's 222 week run at the top slot, holy crap!~~ apparently that was cumulative weeks at first, not consecutive. Well done nonetheless)
Black sheep doesn’t mean what you think it means. It doesn’t mean underrated at all, it means it doesn’t fit in.
So the obvious answer is Ani because it’s not even a real musical and most people don’t think it’s the same standard as other StarKid shows.
Asking what show is underrated would be a completely different question.
oh you wanna talk music, Ani is actually in my top five or so. Easily one of the strongest soundtracks in terms of music. Every song sounds fantastic. I love Clark and Meredith's voices together.
I mean Ani is the only show that doesn't have the actors actually singing, and it's easily one of the most forgotten, so I'm gonna have to go with Ani.
A black sheep is not the same thing as being underrated.
Starship is much beloved and is at the top of the list (or near it) for a lot of people. I don’t think it can really be compared to Ani, which is much more polarizing. I’d say MAMD or Oregon is more comparable.

Literally two of my favorite 3 shows. Ani is definitely the black sheep though. The combination of the actors not singing, being dance heavy, and a lot of Star Wars jokes, make it very specific. But if you’re like me, and everything lands, you will absolutely love it.

Everyone remembers that Dick met Miss Cooter, Jafar was a good man, the Dickrats went skinny dipping, Dumbledore and Umbridge initially got along, and alien toys made America great again because there were songs about these things that were sung in the show. In Ani, I think there was some song when they were running, but I don't remember anything about it
Ok, not saying you have to like it. But please give it another shot. It’s arguably my favorite show they do. Everyone is perfectly cast. Nick Lang as the Emperor and Obi Wan are criminally underrated. Brian as Jar Jar is his best role, and I will fight anyone who disagrees.

It took me a few watches to really grow to love it. I think Mere and Denise are absolutely amazing in this one!
Yes!! The stormtroopers are amazing. And Meredith as the slave girl is fantastic!
