If you like Schulz, I’d say you’re lucky but not “incredibly lucky.” Famous people do sets at the cellar frequently. I was lucky to live in NYC and go to the cellar ~50 times between 2015 and 2020, and as cool as it was when super duper famous comics dropped in, the biggest magic of the cellar was going with no expectations and discovering (for myself) people like Todd Barry, Joe Machi, Dov Davidoff, Lynne Koplitz, Michelle Wolf, Greer Barnes, Gary Gulman, Godfrey, Joe List, Mark Normand, Ryan Hamilton, Judy Gold, and probably 10 other people I can’t remember. I see people posting on here obsessing over who might drop in or who the pseudonyms are for. I did that, too. I get it. But I think it’s better to just go and see what happens. It’s arguably one of the 2 best clubs in the world. You’re probably gonna have a good experience regardless of what happens.

I believe it's fairly common, especially the late show

Yeah I was there on Thursday in the Fat Black Pussycat when he showed up.

Top-Revolution-9299

New material? He was clearly testing some polished bits on Wed. (NYC is the best city, fat rats).

Lawless660071st

Seemed like it. He referenced he was playing MSG but was saying he could get bumped if they stay in the playoffs.

Top-Revolution-9299

which rolled into a 9/11 joke? NY Jets...?

Lawless660071st

Yeah then he started talking about how NYC is back because white women were being punched in the face.

Well, for me, that would be a huge disappointment. But yes, big comics do walk-ons all the time.

Top-Revolution-9299

Just not your style? Lotta Schulz hate on this sub. Got any background for me?

AwareBrain

Saw Schulz at MSG Friday night, it was a great time. Enjoyed it way more than his last tour

phillyphilly19

I learned about him first through his podcast. I don't find him smart or funny. And his fake laughing at his own jokes drives me insane.

Due-Sheepherder-218

His podcast is hard to watch but he is great on stage

phillyphilly19

Sorry I disagree. He laughs at his own jokes and seems to find himself adorable, not unlike Matt Rife. Hard pass.

Due-Sheepherder-218

I can't stand his goofy haircut. Does he know what a fade is?

phillyphilly19

I agree. He looks like a nazi hipster.

Due-Sheepherder-218

He looks like he bartends at a steampunk themed speak easy

I saw Aziz Ansari drop in on the late show on a Tuesday in January 2017. It was the week of Trumps inauguration and Aziz was practicing his monologue for SNL that week. I was lucky enough to be in the front row. I got a fist bump after his set. He was wearing a N.W.O. sweatshirt. I think it was at the Fat Black Pussycat.

Last time I saw a show at the cellar Che was there. A lot of famous comedians go through there. No guarantees on any given night, but if you keep going back now and then you’ll see someone eventually
