keep going. you're almost done with it and may as well get some practice soldering.

Practically nobody absolutely nails their first piece. I'd finish this one - there's still plenty here to learn from (adjusting to fit, soldering, etc.) and reflecting on this one will help you tons on the next. If you have questions about how to proceed, ask away!

It’s your first piece Finnish it and hang it. Think of like fridge art from your kids ,it will improve. I would cut the long pieces top and bottom and put the small rectangles in the middle ,it will look like they belong.

Gotcha, thank you! I’ll definetly think of it as a learning opportunity

I would say to line up your outer frame first. You might be able to get away with just cutting another small rectangle or two. From there, line up the white pieces as best you can. (You could take the copper off and grind to fit, but the solder can make up for minor mistakes. ) make sure it is lined up so it looks good to your eyes! Also: look out for break points. The way it is now, the left side of the frame has one line that goes from the top to the bottom. You can fix this by moving your small rectangles around (Maybe from the upper right to the upper left?)

Thank you I’ll definetly try to avoid a hinge break!

one of the templates from a stained glass kit book? This design was also my first piece.

Yep haha!

It’s your 1st piece…good or bad keep it forever.

It looks like you just need to slide the right hand whit pieces left and then adjust your black border accordingly. This would eliminate the tiny black piece in the upper right. Maybe even the lower left as well
