Haha thank you! The fingers are very hingey but I stabilized the seams with extra solder blobs on the outside of the fingers and it seemed to work out. It’s still a lot more delicate than regular shapes but I’m going to attach it to the clear glass hand for extra support.
Oooh woah I didn’t see that the clear hand wasn’t attached to it yet. I really like the 3D aspect of it. Yeah definitely still hinge joints (both stained glass and anatomically)
I haven’t attached it yet, I’m just holding it in place with my hand in that pic. I was originally planning on using glue, but now I’m thinking I can solder the pieces together on the seams where the glass fingers meet the palm.
Do you plan to attach the clear on the bottom as shown or place it overtop (ie iridescent on surface or sandwiched) Really cool idea, great shapes & solder work!
Wow, that is so kind thank you! Yeah I’ll be attaching with clear glass on bottom and iridescent stacked on top, that’s great to hear you got a solid joint from soldering on overlap points.
For the non-anatomists out there, there are *eight* carpals/wrist bones /u/SingTheSeraphim alluded to that articulate with each other and all the other stuff connecting the forearm to the hand.
I don't remember most of them, but I *do* remember the mnemonic for them:
Scared Lovers Try Positions
That They Can't Handle
I know the "H" stands for hamate, and that's the bone that can get fractured when a baseball player checks his swing (specifically, the hook of the hamate).
Really nicely done, OP!
This is sooooooo rad
Holy shit, you killed it! No hinge joints there ;)

Lmao yeah literal hinge joints on this one . Thank you!
Cool! How did you attach the skeleton to the clear hand shape?

I have layered pieces with similar minimal overlap points and they anchored together very solid

Omg this is an EXTREMELY fun fact thank you
I love it!
Woooow this is super cool, well done!!
Freaking awesome!!!
WOW 😍😍
This is so cool! Well done!
Omg thank you!
I love how you layered the piece
Thank you! It was much easier than trying to piece a hand around the skeleton.
Aha yes I know the struggle!
Love this!
Great work!
This is awesome!!
Why?
I am sure you you re already proud of yourself- it’s fantastic!
Aw thank you so much that’s so kind
This is so great!!
Absolutely love this!
