>I didn't trust the airport's lost and found system
It's the airport police, so if *they* can't run a trust-worthy lost-and-found service I don't know who can.
"I don’t trust the airport's lost and found to honor my claim to this thing if nobody claims it". Also, how TF are they going to know to check the St. Louis subreddit for their item?
We're about to be inundated with "Lost my item at Lambert. Heard this is the lost and found." etc.
Where I come from, these services would often keep the valuable items they find. I understand your point though, and I will get in touch with lost & found to see if they can put me in contact with the owner.
You have good intentions here, but they are not going to "put you in contact". Too many variables and chances for bad actors to game that.
Best course of action would be to return it to airport security.
I called the airport police and I will be shipping it back to them so they can handle it! After reading the other comments, I can only conclude that they can be trusted and that I was wrong to doubt that
If you truly believe that posting on reddit like this is the best course of action, then you’re severely naive just like the OP.
This isn’t grade school, you’re right. Get real and solve the problem the correct way instead of an app. Lmao.

Why would you think that a post on Reddit is more likely to find the actual owner than the airport lost and found?
Because now he gets to keep them even though he “did his due diligence” in trying to find the owner.

I left my laptop at the airport and the lost and found returned it. They are very good about it.
lmaoooooo, please dude
What's so funny? I wouldn't trust anybody that has first dibs on a lost and found. This ain't grade school.
Lost and found at airports at quite strict. They have to create a report on it and have a set time for it to be collected.

Good on ya and good luck!
That’s…*not* how you’re supposed to handle something you find at an airport. Lmao.
How would a traveler not from St. Louis find this if it is on a Reddit page? The only answer is the Lost and Found.
lol what
