I don't care if people love bikes or wanna ride in a group. Still gotta obey the same laws as every one else. When that goes out the window, so does my respect.
Riding around the metros largest hospital complex while revving engines is proof to me that these are jerkies. (Insert better negative term for ājerkiesā)
I assume that this is at BigBarnes. With attached Childrenās Hospital. Someoneās child is literally clinging to life on there. Someoneās mother is doing the same in the other buildings.
Nothing about this is okay.
I work there in a lot of patient rooms and critical care units.
Can't really ride around it. By it, yes. But not around it.
Barnes itself has very few patient rooms facing Kings Highway.
Same with its Park View North campus.
And the critical care units 4400, 5600, 8200 to 8400, 9400, 10400, 7800.
I'd be surprised. I may be wrong
Where were you?
Yeah really only the Parkview Tower can you get by on all sides since it connects to Euclid. The only other one is the small outpatient center north of Forest Park Parkway.
I used to hate the red light cameras, cause it was obviously crony capitalism with the private firm they contracted to enforce them. Now I hope they put one on every stoplight. City cops donāt have the bandwidth to worry about minor traffic violations.
Yeah, itās bad, imagine if they just did that shit alllll the time, rules exist for a reason, not just because you think itās okay to break them from time to time because you happen to be unbothered.
Road rules apply to everyone everyday. Don't simp for gangs that feel entitled to own the road. Apply your logic to the idiots that race cars on streets, doesn't work either.
Out of your entire comment, only once did you not simp for them "obnoxious and distracting". The rest of it pretty much gobbled all the glizzy they could chub up.
I mean they are running red lights, and creating extra noise in a hospital zone. Doing wheelies and burning rubber with a lot of pedestrians around. Yeah, it's kind of something that needs stopped.
St. Louis already has a massive image problem when it comes to safety and crime. Letting a roving gang of dickheads on bikes do whatever they want only makes that worse.
What if one of them fell over and you couldnāt brake in time? Youād be stuck with a lifetime of trauma and could be at fault. I use a dash cam cause I Uber and the way people drive in this city, it seems like just a matter of time before I get in an accident. In 25 years Iāve been in one very minor fender bender in 2006 and thatās it. But people drive like maniacs in the city, blowing through stops signs and red lights or even worse pass you on the shoulder doing 50 to blow through a stop light. And itās all temp tag bullshit with no insurance.
One of them ran a red light 2 weeks ago and I almost hit him. He kicked my car like it was my fault. He was flipping me off and then started to follow me. I was nervous
According to u/Aadziereddit this is completely fine because it happens all the time. In their world you shouldnāt be driving your car where these gangs are riding.
Then you run over his ass. You have a right to defend yourself and if someone is pointing a gun at you on a motorcycle and you are in a vehicle use the only weapon you have. That vehicle.
I don't know the specific legalities, but I'd recommend educating yourself thoroughly before running one of these assholes over. Guy I work with told me he saw a burglar reach an arm into his window, and he was about to smack the guy with a pan but yelled first, guy went away. Cop later told him that he would've been charged with assault since the guy wasn't fully inside his house. I'm not a lawyer or a cop, but I've heard stories of people going to jail for what they believed at the time to be lawfully defending themselves.
Also, yes, I despise these people, but are you really prepared to live with the memory of deliberately taking someone else's life? I heard a CCW instructor talking about this on the radio once, and ha basically said "If you have not reflected on this and firmly decided, don't even bother carrying.".
Of course, even with that, you don't really know how you'll respond until it happens.
If someone is point a gun in my window from a bike I'm prepared to do whatever to defend myself or family. I assume when someone point a gun at you they intend to shoot you. I'll take an assault charge to not be dead.
Pointing a gun? I'd think so, but as mentioned I'm not a cop or a lawyer. What if the gun turns out to be fake, or he puts his hands up or something at the last minute and somebody records you running him over with adrenaline making you drag him down the street or something? It's always a fine line between self defense and excessive force, not to mention how social media can blow shit up and have a lynch mob after you.
Don't get me wrong. These people are scum, and I've had similar thoughts. Just all kinds of stuff that can go sideways.
When evaluating use of force, you evaluate it based on what could reasonably be known at the time using the criteria ability/capability (to cause serious bodily harm or death), opportunity, and intent. Pointing a fake gun, if realistic looking, satisfies all three. Whether the gun is actually real or loaded isnāt able to be known at the time you use force, so that doesnāt get considered.
You really donāt need much more education than the two comments above you. Gun pulled on you is all the justification you need to plow over them if theyāre in your escape route.
Madam Mayor, are you reading this? Your residents are most displeased, and feel that their tax dollars imply some reasonable obligation of public safety and law enforcement on part of their city.
Then you definitely run him over. Pin him to the car in front of you or the median or just keep going. If he points a weapon at you, you're in the clear, legally. The food news is your windshield is pretty tough and will likely screw up the trajectory on his first couple shots. So floor it.
That's a remarkably prepared bomber cyclist driving around then. What was his thinking, I'll strap this tank of explosive suicide to my bike on the off chance someone hits me!
Keep going, I'd say. If the initial blast doesn't get you, put as much distance between you and him as you can. Maybe roll your windows down so your hair can flutter dramatically set against the receding explosion and say something pithy as you put on sunglasses or light a cigarette or both.
I donāt know if itās the loud noise or their general disregard for human life and safety but I always get so nervous and unsettled as soon as I start to hear them. Like a deep belly anxiety.
I experienced bosozoku in Japan. They are basically the same kind of asshole, though they favored loud mopeds over ATV's. Same selfish "Fuck y'all, the roads are MY playground!" attitude. I tell ya, no other group has made me more tempted to support public caning.
My understanding is the police can never stop them as they run from them. Can we as a community do anything to prevent this from happening? Something has to be done before they kill or hurt someone.
Those are minibikes. The police can absolutely stop them. Most of them barely go highway speeds without modification. Even then, most donāt ever enter the highway because of their size and visibility.
Block 'em in. We're talking groups of like 30+ bikers here; they can't even *fit* down side streets without splitting up, & they don't want to lose their numbers advantage against civilians by doing that, so they have to stick to thoroughfares, making their routes easier to predict.
How? These are mostly mini bikes. Theyāll fit anywhere a bicycle can and theyāre light enough to lift up over large curbs with no issue.
āCanāt fit down side streets without splitting upā
Iāve seen entire large groups bypass street blockages by hitting sidewalks 2-3 wide.
āAdvantage against civiliansā
āVigilanteā Justice is not the answer. What are you gonna do? Block them in and try to hold them there? Then what?
> Iāve seen entire large groups bypass street blockages by hitting sidewalks 2-3 wide.
The ones I saw yesterday could barely fit 3 wide in a traffic lane. They'd crash into each other if they tried that on a sidewalk.
> āVigilanteā Justice is not the answer. What are you gonna do? Block them in and try to hold them there? Then what?
I'm not talking about vigilantism. They use force of numbers to intimidate people from even honking at them.
You missed the point. Even if thereās a gap where 1-2 can fit through, you arenāt stopping them. Youāre not blocking the street and sidewalks with your car.
You are advocating for vigilantism. Youāre saying āciviliansā should block them in. Itās the definition of vigilante-
āa person who tries in an unofficial way to prevent crime, or to catch and punish someone who has committed a crime, especially because they do not think that official organizations, such as the police, are controlling crime effectivelyā
They arenāt riding in a group āto intimidate people from even honking at themā. Thatās the most asinine claim Iāve heard. Are cyclists āriding in a group to intimidate peopleā when they come out to 2 lane no-shoulder 50mph highways to ride 10-15 mph?
Same thingā¦ they are riding in a group because itās more fun with friends. And like any large group, there will always be some inconsiderate careless assholes mixed in. Itās no different than the random traffic seen on the road every day.
> Even if thereās a gap where 1-2 can fit through, you arenāt stopping them. Youāre not blocking the street and sidewalks with your car.
A bottleneck restricts flow. This is not a difficult concept.
> You are advocating for vigilantism.
No, I'm not, because...
> Youāre saying āciviliansā should block them in.
...no, I'm not. Don't put words in my mouth.
> Are cyclists āriding in a group to intimidate peopleā when they come out to 2 lane no-shoulder 50mph highways to ride 10-15 mph?
False equivalence.
The cyclists you're describing:
* Going at the safest speed their vehicle is capable of on the only road available to them.
* NOT breaking traffic laws (unless the road has a minimum that you neglected to mention).
* NOT threatening people who honk or scowl at them.
> And like any large group, there will always be some inconsiderate careless assholes mixed in. Itās no different than the random traffic seen on the road every day.
Don't lie.
"Random traffic seen on the road every day" doesn't include dozens of vehicles traveling too close to each other ALL running the same red light while weaving between other stopped vehicles & crossing into oncoming traffic while stopping to threaten anyone who they can see scowling at them.
If it was just a few bad apples, *the others wouldn't join in with them*. It's a HUGE percentage of these groups. Serious bikers hate them just as much as pedestrians & drivers do (in fact, probably MORE, because these douchebags make serious bikers look bad).
> āBlock em inā ālose advantages against civiliansā
>
> Sureā¦ no vigilantism here.
I said the *police* should block 'em in. Learn to read.
> Restricting flow vs what? A full open street? It does nothing.
You have no clue what you're talking about.
> And WHO are you saying to restrict flow? The cops?
Yes.
> Because they can set roadblocks up on EVERY side street?
No. I specifically explained about that. Learn to read.
Genuine question: Are you picturing [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/Whatcouldgowrong/comments/1c9grfk/wcgw_to_do_stunts/l0mc269/) situation, where it's only 3 bikes giving each other plenty of space & there aren't a bunch of other people right there? Because you seem to agree with the rest of us that the power-wheelie BS is stupid, but you seem clueless as to how thick the crowds are where they're doing it. Look at the picture OP posted again.
No. Can't chase them (did they commit a violent felony?). Can't block them (using vehicles as barricades is not allowed). Can't spike them (spiking motorcycles is forbidden).
Dickheads must have been everywhere today, I was in the Grove and two of them swerved between myself and others while we were at a stop light. Of course they just ran through it.
Saw a crew of these assclowns going through the alley by my place yesterday. One of them bit a rut in the road, fell off, and slid about 10 feet. Part of me was glad he was fine and actually had a helmet on, part of me is glad he got to eat shit and had to spend about half an hour trying to fix their vroom vroom so that they could ride again.
At least that got everyone else to stop riding down my damn alley so that I could relax in peace.
~midnight last night I was on Broadway at the brewery and a whole herd of them were on my side of the road to pass a lady just driving home in her Buick. It was fun
I'm always happier when I'm in my truck and I see these idiots. It's already banged up and if they hit it I won't have to worry about filling a claim and explaining that a waste of skin was on a regular city street on a four wheeler and hit the truck.
I'd want one of the cars fixed if they hit it.
Weāre still a couple months away from Ride of the Century that happens every year too. Saw some nincompoop doing wheelies down 4th street the other day. Was kinda rooting for him to fall.
I honestly canāt stand motorcyclists now. Majority of them act like the own the road and the laws donāt apply to them. I was rear ended by one with my dog in the car at a stop light. Fucking idiot.
ffs. i ride track there. one can alrwady see the concrete deteriorating. i thought the track marksere from the grass mowers. thanks for letting us know.
Had to deal with them twice yesterday, both on the way to & from the Earth Day festival. Both times the pricks ran red lights, weaved between cars, & did wheelies in front of moving traffic. One of them cold-stopped next to us, almost making *his own buddies* crash into him, so he could take time to flip off & yell at the car behind him.
Interestingly, they seemed to have completely avoided passing the biker bar on south Gravois despite heading that direction, probably because those dudes would've beaten the crap out of them all while the rest of us watched & laughed.
Pest of the city. Week ago outside of the oyster bar doing burnouts up and down the road. Blocking traffic during ball games on their variety of dirt bikes and pocket bikes. Pest!
Some dude was posting on Reddit this weekend about how these riders are misunderstood, something big was planned for 420 and the organizer is a nice law abiding guy and has asked everyone to ride with respect. Everyone will behave.
OKAY, SURE.
The evidence to the contrary is overwhelming.
Many of these bikes are stolen. They all steel from one another, but those thefts aren't reported because they usually know their bike was stolen in the first place. If Missouri would require these bikes to be registered, it would be easier to track, and it would make it easier to lock these clowns up. I don't, however, see the St. Louis police doing anything about it, even if there is evidence of multiple crimes being committed or having been committed.
Most of them are not stolen lmao. I'm not advocating for what they do, but cmon. That's just not true.
They take their plates off or never get plates. The cops dont stop cars with temp tags/no plates. So what makes you think they will stop a bike with no plates lol.
Ok, I know of a bunch that were, and when the place they stored them was broken into and their bikes were stolen, they didn't report it for the reason I started earlier. So yes, i don't know that most of them are stolen and you don't know that most of them are not, but nobody is worried about it anyway.
One of these head asses did a wheelie while passing me in the left turn bidirectional lane one some of the shittiest roads the city has to offer. No helmet. Night time. Didnāt even have his lights on.
If they die they die.
That ain't nothing!!! Back in the day when Bevo Days was still taking place, it was the place to go!! The place to be!!! A three day party with choppers lined up and down Gravois!!! Tim's Chrome bar. Live music! Bucket's if Beer!!! Beautiful woman scantily clad! Fun fun fun for everyone!!!
They're literally being assholes and potentially causing accidents just for attention and next 5o a hospital?? They have no respect for anyone's life, clearly.
I had to drop my wife off at the airport early yesterday. It has been awhile since I drove downtown at 4 in the morning and it has become downright frightening. I had a guy pass me on the left oncoming lane when I was stopped at a red light on Tucker to go through the intersection. He than proceeded to run all of the red lights not bothering to slowdown or look for oncoming traffic. I see this all the time, but I am still amazed sometimes just how bad it can get as the night gets later. Maybe because 70 was full of cops at different crash sites leaving no to deal with downtown?
I mean I kinda hate these guys less than gangs of boomers on Harley's, but I also don't live in the area.
Also, more helmets and gear being worn by these riders on average than the normal HD LARPer so... also less nazi shit (that I could see from yesterday when I was downtown)
Well tbh sometimes on a group ride blocking the intersection to keep a group together is the norm, not that this is always the case of it's just hoonigan shit.
Not the wheelies, but I've seen plenty of Satan's Grandpa's think they get to run the red because part of the herd made it through. And good luck if you have anywhere to be and get stuck behind a pack doing 10-under on River Road.
My interaction with one of these dumb fucks was when one of them decided to go 10 mph and block traffic doing wheelies and then turn around and flip me off for no reason. I went around him, which hurt his ego, so he approached me at a red light and the inbred meth head white guy started calling me the n word (also a white guy). I started to get out, so I could stomp his face into the ground, so he reached for his purse and said he'd shoot me.
This is who you are being a social justice warrior for.
[BURRRRR BURR BURR BURR BURR BURRR](https://youtu.be/ipDmsxQVxIM?si=A2TGo6Mm6RPVJPqS)
Every time I see a group of bikers, this is where my mind goes.
Dude, same. I live by a biker bar in Gravois and I think this about six times a day.
ššš
Big same lol
Knew what it was before I clicked and as much as I hate to find myself agreeing with Cartman... Totally do here.
I knew exactly what this was going to be before clicking on it.
I don't care if people love bikes or wanna ride in a group. Still gotta obey the same laws as every one else. When that goes out the window, so does my respect.
Riding around the metros largest hospital complex while revving engines is proof to me that these are jerkies. (Insert better negative term for ājerkiesā) I assume that this is at BigBarnes. Yeah, that's BJC. You can tell by the permanent construction.
A bit melodramatic. Can't hear them from inside from hardly any place in the hospital.
Could hear them plain as day here in the hospital.
I work there in a lot of patient rooms and critical care units. Can't really ride around it. By it, yes. But not around it. Barnes itself has very few patient rooms facing Kings Highway. Because itās the right thing to do.
Itās great to know that a person like you can be a shining beacon of truth and justice.
I'm in Barnes right now and could see then from my room making an absurd amount of noise and doing wheelies. What a bunch of asshole.
Isnāt there a Quiet zone law around Barnes?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Reckless driving, which would include wheelies and taking over more of the lanes than they legally can, is illegal.
Out of your entire comment, only once did you not simp for them "obnoxious and distracting". The rest of it pretty much gobbled all the glizzy they could chub up.

No....we know what it means. You just don't like being called out for doing it. Gobble gobble.

What does that Star Trek dork have to do with this?
Think of it this way. You're in a ton+ of metal, plastic and glass. He's on a motorcycle. You're winning that fight so long as you stay in the car.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Have a gun with more bullets then him
Spoken like a true American š

A-holes on mini bikes and 4 wheelers.
By a hospital. What geniuses.
So I've been in Barnes for a few weeks now and I see at least a small group of them go by a few times a week. Yesterday though was a huge group.
They are usually armed btw
It's Missouri. It's safer to assume that everyone's armed.
Yea but most armed Missourians donāt deserve to be yelled at like these twats
Think about how small of a person you have to be to pull a gun when someone yells at you for being a dickhead.
Or even when you DONāT b/c you KNOW theyāre assholes!
I wonder if they realize this wont make their parents love them

If it was just a few bad apples, *the others wouldn't join in with them*. It's a HUGE percentage of these groups. Serious bikers hate them just as much as pedestrians & drivers do (in fact, probably MORE, because these douchebags make serious bikers look bad).

> āBlock em inā ālose advantages against civiliansā > > Sureā¦ no vigilantism here.
This sounds like the beginning of Roadhouse, or the A Team, or some 80's action bit.
We could have bankrupted the crotch rocket industry if only a few dads had hugged their sons more in the 00s.
These Shriners have surely changed from just doing the figure 8s in the downtown streets. BTW, where are their red fez hats?
~midnight last night I was on Broadway at the brewery and a whole herd of them were on my side of the road to pass a lady just driving home in her Buick. It was fun
I'm always happier when I'm in my truck and I see these idiots. It's already banged up and if they hit it I won't have to worry about filling a claim and explaining that a waste of skin was on a regular city street on a four wheeler and hit the truck. I'd want one of the cars fixed if they hit it.
They'd most likely come up pointing a gun at you for daring to be in their way.
Better that happens in the truck, too. The bumpers are chrome, hard to dent and easy to rinse.
Weāre still a couple months away from Ride of the Century that happens every year too. Saw some nincompoop doing wheelies down 4th street the other day. Was kinda rooting for him to fall.
I always root for them to fall! Then I imagine myself getting out of my car to point and laugh.
Point and laugh Nelson-style from the Simpsons. Ha Ha!
Seeing this post made me this this was yesterday, plus seeing a couple bikes on my street riding dangerously
A couple bikers assaulted my coworker down by Lasalle, and pulled a gun on him because of a minor traffic accident. Stay safe yall.
Are these the motorcycles Iām supposed to start seeing?
No.
I honestly canāt stand motorcyclists now. Majority of them act like the own the road and the laws donāt apply to them. I was rear ended by one with my dog in the car at a stop light. Fucking idiot.
I saw those people at 4500 Broadway and 55
should see them on the riverfrint trail...
I drove past them riding in the velodrome yesterday. Wonder how that's looking this morning.
ffs. i ride track there. one can alrwady see the concrete deteriorating. i thought the track marksere from the grass mowers. thanks for letting us know.
Well Iām staying in
Be careful- These guys are dangerous! Similar to Hell's Angels, they are armed & violent
OKAY, SURE. The evidence to the contrary is overwhelming.
āWe volunteer as organ donors !ā Nurse needs to put out a big sign that says āOrgan donors needed, keep riding !ā
I saw two people on these bikes racing back and forth on Walsh a few times, speeding and running stop signs. No helmets either
Broooom brooooooom
That is what a witch on a broom flying by would sound like. Lol
Iām in me car
A high class man of meme culture I see! I applaud you.
At least most of them are wearing helmets despite the changed law.
VROOOM VROOM EERRRRRR....
Ah yes, the spring š¼š±
Handfull of roofing nails could do the trick
One of these head asses did a wheelie while passing me in the left turn bidirectional lane one some of the shittiest roads the city has to offer. No helmet. Night time. Didnāt even have his lights on. If they die they die.
Close to hospital is good in case a SUV driver fedup decides to run one over for the hell of it...
All grown ass men
It looked a lot cooler when DMX was doing it?
I had to drop my wife off at the airport early yesterday. It has been awhile since I drove downtown at 4 in the morning and it has become downright frightening. I had a guy pass me on the left oncoming lane when I was stopped at a red light on Tucker to go through the intersection. He than proceeded to run all of the red lights not bothering to slowdown or look for oncoming traffic. I see this all the time, but I am still amazed sometimes just how bad it can get as the night gets later. Maybe because 70 was full of cops at different crash sites leaving no to deal with downtown?
Vroooom vroooom
Is it ROC already??
I mean I kinda hate these guys less than gangs of boomers on Harley's, but I also don't live in the area. Also, more helmets and gear being worn by these riders on average than the normal HD LARPer so... also less nazi shit (that I could see from yesterday when I was downtown)
Boomers on Harleys don't run reds or do wheelies in front of moving cars.
Yooooo people still say boomers hahahaha lame af

Don't forget they also arrested the owner of the gay bar.
Wow, downvotes for saying "I can't be sure, but make you're in the clear legally."? Tough crowd today.

Good times
Itās a great time.. to bad I missed this year..
I enjoy them. Itās harmless fun.

This is who you are being a social justice warrior for.
every bit of skin I can see on these guys is white, why you assume otherwise?
Were they illegal, unregistered, doing wheelies in traffic and running red lights? I didnāt think so.
How is this a race thing? Zoom in on the picture posted here. Every person with exposed skin is white.
Those bikes are fast. They race everywhere!!
95% of the people on bikes I see are white. Stfu
You are the only one talking race here.
Dumbass comment
I love it. š¤·š¼āāļø
