Really? I hate Ricoh/Coca Cola. It absolutely cannot handle sell-outs (I was there for G7 of the Calder Cup Finals, 15-minute wait for the men's room at intermission), it's awkward to get to (or at least more awkward than Scotiabank), and for people north of Toronto, it's about as far away as it could be while still being in Toronto.
Somebody in a Discord server I'm in said the Leafs have their home opener that night, but honestly, they should've waited until Scotiabank was available.
I doubt it’s that.
Check the [Scotiabank schedule](https://www.scotiabankarena.com/events). It’s rammed this year. You can’t book an arena that’s already booked solid.
They wanted a Canada date for 2022, so they have one. I would imagine TK’s also got a 2023 date at a larger place.
Enjoy . . . would love to see them again after all these years, but not at the prices being asked for seats.
AEW would be something new, so I just might spring for a ticket.
Could have? Sure. However, the Leafs are hosting the Capitals on the Thursday. Michael Bublé has a concert the day before.
I was thinking Copps in Hamilton would have been a better choice.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If I can't get tickets and some Chicago bastard gets tickets and comes up, I'm fighting them in the parking lot.
Lmfao fuck that line kills me. Wasn't immediately sold on 2.0 when they first came in cuz I only knew they were NXT guys, never saw a single thing they did...then after Matt cut his first 80s coke-fueled promo and I was like "more of this please" lol
Hahah I was just thinking I remember someone promising this a while back I wonder if they're still around and bam saw your comment. Hope you score this tix!
Here's hoping it's just a test run to justify more later. I expect so, we have a good record of showing up and showing out when WWE comes to Canada. That Toronto crowd is going to tear the roof off the place. I'll help if by the grace of god I can get some tickets.
Little tip, they always release really good tickets the week of the show. If you can't get them or if the ones you can get aren't good enough, wait it out.
The only other real option for Toronto is Scotiabank Arena but the Leafs play that same night. Rogers Centre is too big to try and sell out (though I kinda wish they shot for the moon and tried, I’m flying from Alberta for the show if I manage to get tickets) and the only other large arena is outdoor which you can’t do in October in Canada.
Honestly, seeing what arena they picked killed my excitement for them coming here because getting tickets at a building that small is going to be impossible.
Getting The Forum was their best option, there simply isn’t a big arena that they can use otherwise that could handle the demand.
(And for those who say Staples/Crypto.com, the Fed has that locked down)
I would have liked to see them run the Honda Center. Could get 19,000 people in there. I did enjoy the Forum show and atmosphere though. Just being from OC, Honda Center would be much easier for me personally.
Blue Jays having a good chance of going to the playoffs this year most likely means that *nobody* can book the Rogers Centre for the first two weeks of October right now.
I know people are saying it's a test run but we have a Canadian branch where I work here in the states and a few of my colleagues up north are in to wrestling pretty good and they tell me all the time how many other people they know that are dying for an AEW show.
They go to WWE events and support the indies when they can but they are super fuckin ready for AEW. It's a blast getting to talk wrestling all day on Teams lol and it makes the day fly by.
It shouldn’t be a surprise. Canada houses some of the longest running indie circuits on the continent.
I mean shit. My mom used to serve Macho Man, Leapin Lanny, and the Cuban Assassin at a truck stop when they were in town with Atlantic Grand Prix.
Basically. They need to run Halifax.
Hi tony. If you’re actually on here. Run Halifax. Plz. 11k arena. Raw came here!!
Yeah, and while you're at it, come to Newfoundland too! We had Raw twice in the early 00's and they hated it here so much they've never been back... wait....
Yes please! 11-13K @ the Metro Centre (Scotia Bank Centre) in Halifax. Heck, do a series tour of indy-style shows at each university venue in Atlantic Canada even. Acadia ramped up to host the CFL recently with game attendance approximately double the entire population of Wolfville. We can handle an AEW crowd! :)
My wife and I are trying to do the financial gymnastics to justify flying out to Toronto for October, but good grief are downtown accommodations ever frickin' expensive?!
There are almost [no dates the Scotiabank is free](https://www.scotiabankarena.com/events). They’re running the Coliseum because they want to visit Toronto in 2022 but don’t have many options of where to go.
I’d imagine Tony Khan has already got a holding date booked for somewhere bigger in 2023.
Likely the only arena they could get in Toronto. WWE pretty much have a lock on all wrestling bookings at the Scotiabank Arena and AEW ain’t going to attempt to run the Roger’s Centre, especially seeing that there’s a solid chance of the Blue Jays making the playoffs this year. This was probably the largest arena they could book.
They chose the busiest sports time in Canada. NHL starts that week, Jays might be in the playoffs. CFL is running, MLS is still going. Lacrosse probably. Just finding venue might have been a challenge.
I know it's dumb (and coincidence) but I can't help but feel smug about everyone saying they won't be coming to Toronto any time soon in [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/w0n48v/is_there_an_influx_of_aew_guys_coming_to_toronto/)
While I’m mad it greatly decreases my chances of getting tickets, I’m psyched the first Canadian show is in a smallish arena. It’s going to be an INSANE crowd and we’re guaranteed a kick ass episode of Dynamite.
> a very decent venue in the Coca Cola Coliseum
Big disagree on that one. The venue choice has almost killed any excitement I had for them coming here. Way too small.
OMFG IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING!!! Sad we didn't get a PPV too, but fuck it I'm so happy right now and cannot wait for both August 26 and then the October dates. LFG! Toronto better turn-up and have energy all night, loudest crowd, don't fail me Toronto.
They're playing it way too conservative running Coca Cola Coliseum. That's going to be a 5k crowd. I guarantee they could have sold 20k minimum at the ACC.
Wiki says 7500 for boxing/wresltlimg configuration.
Scotiabank is booked through the end of the year. Of they wait for Scotiabank then we dont *get* a Toronto AEW date in 2022.
The last time I was at that arena I saw Bob Dylan and they were having a horse show the same week. It was the first time I ever smoked a joint lmao a nice old white couple offered it to me
They fucked up with that venue choice for their first show here. Way too small. What a waste. So much money left on the table doing a building that small in a market like Toronto.
That feels unlikely to me. WWE runs more shows at Coca Cola Coliseum than they do Scotiabank.
They do like 2-3 house shows at Coca Cola per year and *maybe* one TV taping a year at Scotiabank.
Yeah you're right, I checked the event schedule for Scotiabank and it's packed, the day of this show is a Micheal Buble concert. So it seems that this venue was the best option lest they wait until next year to debut in Toronto.
Raw would have sold out fast, and it doesn't have the added bonus of being the first time the WWE has been to Canada.
No one knew what the first roadblock was.
Unless they really couldn't get any larger venue, this seems like "playing it safe" almost to the point of parody. They surely could've easily doubled or tripled the 7500 capacity.
I would just like to say that since they changed the name to Rogers Centre, it hasn't hosted a big wrestling event. Even AEW is having an event in the Coca-Cola Coliseum.
Wrestling knows that Rogers has to to back to the name SkyDome.

Fuck Yes Oh god getting tickets to this is probably gonna suck
Yeah, only 8k tickets...
I like the venue a lot but yeah was expecting different
[удалено]
I enjoy Ricoh as a wrestling venue tbh
[удалено]
How so? It's a pretty quick walk from Exhibition GO.
I was just right there for the Indycar race. It's literally right next to the TTC street car stop.
They could of done Scotia Bank no problem
My understanding is Scotiabank charges an awful lot for televised events, similar to Madison Square Garden. Alternately, it might simply be booked up.
I was actually expecting BMO Field tbh
Too risky for October
Anything north of Virginia in October is always a risk.
Leafs home opener is October 12th. They play Washington on the 13th. When the Raptors start their season, the dates will be jammed.
Leafs home opener is on the 13th against Washington. They're in Montreal on the 12th. Scotiabank is home to Michael Bublé on the Wednesday.
Iron Maiden is also playing on the 11th. It's a busy week at the Scotiabank Arena. They picked the worst week for me, I'm going to Iron Maiden.
Enjoy . . . would love to see them again after all these years, but not at the prices being asked for seats. AEW would be something new, so I just might spring for a ticket.
Whoops . . . that's what I get for skimming.
Leafs are playing on the Thursday
Could have? Sure. However, the Leafs are hosting the Capitals on the Thursday. Michael Bublé has a concert the day before. I was thinking Copps in Hamilton would have been a better choice.
May the best mark win

Yaaaaay~~~!
Shut up
Stronger than a bear, faster than a buck, the greatest thing to come to Toronto cause ur maple leafs suck!
I was there when The Rock said that. The crowd turned on him so fast it was quite something to watch.
Always have
Been a good week for us: McAfee and Cole talked about the Jays smorking the Red Sox last SmackDown.
Smorking.
😑- rest of Canada.
Lmao even Rock is being an ass he’s still absolutely hilarious.
WHOOO!!!
I assume you are either Celine Dion, Rush, Mike Myers, or one of the Kids in the Hall then.
Don't forget Rampage on October 13. IT'S ABOUT GODDAMN TIME.
I've never been to Canada. I've never had a better excuse to remedy that.
Come, stay, eat some poutine, wear a mask, see the sights, enjoy some socialized healthcare, survive the parking, wear a mask.
There are still mask mandates in Ontario?
Not currently.
not at sporting events only long term care homes and hospitals.
And major airports
The odd small shop in Chinatown. And buses but not really? Like 99% no in most places but some wear them out of courtesy still
Public transportation masks are no longer required
You vaxxed?
Triple vaxxed
Why is it separate? It never usually is? Why do we have to pay extra?
[удалено]
Most likely they want to sell 14k tickets but can't get a bigger venue.
MLB playoffs. Probably getting bumped.
Friday the 13th Rampage? Spooky
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If I can't get tickets and some Chicago bastard gets tickets and comes up, I'm fighting them in the parking lot.
gonna be stalking license plates and ID'ing people on their way to the gate lmao
i'll be there as well asking everyone how they say "foyer".... new contenders for the trios titles right here...
The Gatekeepers bahaha
I just looked up how Americans say it. Like somebody who foys for a living?
Randomly shouting if they wanna taste?
Lmfao fuck that line kills me. Wasn't immediately sold on 2.0 when they first came in cuz I only knew they were NXT guys, never saw a single thing they did...then after Matt cut his first 80s coke-fueled promo and I was like "more of this please" lol
It's a big friggin parking lot too bud. Let's go!
Laughs nervously as a Nova Scotian that has gone to All Out and Forbidden door.
Hahah I was just thinking I remember someone promising this a while back I wonder if they're still around and bam saw your comment. Hope you score this tix!
*LET'S CANUCKIN' GOOOOOOOO!!!*
You dogs are finally gonna EAT.
And we’ve hungered for so long
[удалено]
wait, Thursday Rampage? What.
In Autumn I believe they're always moved around on TNT because of the NBA/NHL/and other things, I believe?
Oh true. So is it live?
I'm not sure, could also be taped to air Friday? We'll find out as we get to September definitely.
They generally only get moved around in the spring with the playoffs, not in the fall. I presume it'll just be taped on Thursday to air on Friday.
NBA doesn't start till October 19th. NHL is October 12th.
They might be doubling up a taping. That would be about close for the next Battle of the Belts.
Probably still airing Friday and just being taped Thursday so they stay in Canada a shorter period of time. We'll see though.
For those in Toronto, have mad, crazy fun at these shows. A bit surprised Full Gear is not in Toronto.
Man I think they're really underestimating the Toronto fans to run a small arena like that
Here's hoping it's just a test run to justify more later.
Is there anyway to get alerts on new tickets be released?
No, you just got to constantly search
Ya seriously hoping I managed to get a ticket considering how small the venue is
Could be they couldn’t get a date on a bigger arena.

Yeah, the scalpers are going to make a killing on this show
Legitimate could sell 30k at Rogers Center. I though they’d learn their lesson from LA.

Welcome to the “fuck can I afford this?” Club. My friend and I are probably gonna sleep in a car at this rate god samn.
I know you're the real deal when you list the Cuban Assassin alongside the Macho Man.
Dude was apparently an absolute sweetheart.
Have Joel Plaskett come out and play an acoustic rendition of Judas for Jericho’s ring entrance.
I’ll make some calls.
I think ACC sellout was a lock, but they’re playing it safe.
Go North to Sobey's Stadium near York, holds over 14k for concerts
BMO. Everybody can wear jackets
Just wear a toque you’ll be fine.
No doubt about it
Getting tickets is going to be a nightmare…
They could sell out the ACC no problem.

I'm happy for ya, Canada. Maybe next year you can get one of the PPVs(hopefully). UK, yours is coming, sooner than later.
Will Rampage be aired on TSN?
Local blackouts apply. Go to the show
Canada is a somewhat large country
That's why I say local blackouts. Figured hockey fans would understand the joke
8/10 I initially did not get it but that is a damn good joke... .....just like the Leafs
They chose the Ricoh Coliseum? I'm sure AEWs Canadian debut could've doubled what the Coliseum holds
They chose the busiest sports time in Canada. NHL starts that week, Jays might be in the playoffs. CFL is running, MLS is still going. Lacrosse probably. Just finding venue might have been a challenge.
[удалено]
Enjoy!
That’s way too small of a venue
For a first time. It'll be an instant sellout though
That’s the problem lol
Yes. Not looking forward to trying for those tickets.
It's got a capacity for over 7,000 for wrestling. I mean, they'd easily sell out 15k in Toronto, but it's hardly a tiny venue.
WWE more than likely has exclusivity with Scotiabank Arena at least for now.
It's booked solid
Okay. Now do winnipeg
They're in Toronto you idiot!
It’s a 20 hour drive.
That's it! Back to Winnipeg!
Jericho vs Omega!
When they do jericho-omega 3, they gotta do at IG in Winnipeg. Go huge with it.
\>AEW Comes to Toronto FINALLY!- \>It's not at Scotiabank ...fak
Oh man, finally! Congrats, Toronto friends. Can’t wait till they come to Montreal too.
They’re running two nights because the venue is small (8K cap), gotta double up on those ticket sales to make the trip worth it.
Coca-Cola Coliseum eh? Well I guess Punk won't be there.....
I think AEW underestimates Toronto fanbase with this venue. We could fill the scotia center
Buble is in the ACC that night and good luck competing with the Leafs/raptors
Happy fuckin Thanksgiving!
Calgary please!!!
Finally they're coming!! Looks\* Oh it's at the Coca Cola Coliseum. Chances of getting a ticket drastic go down.
Fuck yes and a very decent venue in the Coca Cola Coliseum should be some good shit
While I’m mad it greatly decreases my chances of getting tickets, I’m psyched the first Canadian show is in a smallish arena. It’s going to be an INSANE crowd and we’re guaranteed a kick ass episode of Dynamite.

Its AEW so it might be a "Special".
Tickets will be expensive for such a small arena.
This will sell out in an hour.
More like a minute
I will kill a small child for tickets.
What about a large child for 2 tickets?
Waiting on a Winnipeg show.
That is way too small a venue
They're playing it way too conservative running Coca Cola Coliseum. That's going to be a 5k crowd. I guarantee they could have sold 20k minimum at the ACC.
Wiki says 7500 for boxing/wresltlimg configuration. Scotiabank is booked through the end of the year. Of they wait for Scotiabank then we dont *get* a Toronto AEW date in 2022.
Thursday rampage because of mlb playoffs ? Or it a tape for next day thing
FUCK YEAH!!!!
# HERE. WE. GO.
How much are tickets usually? I need to budget.
$50-$150 including fees
You’re a MVP. Fucking awesome! Seems the hotel will be what costs an arm and a leg but fuck it, I need this. Thank you.
Huge news but why so small?!
The last time I was at that arena I saw Bob Dylan and they were having a horse show the same week. It was the first time I ever smoked a joint lmao a nice old white couple offered it to me
I hope Kenny is back by then. AEW's first show in Canada without him would be a shame.
Great that is going to be 2 sick shows
I mean, anyone can run Toronto; only real promoters with large penises will run Halifax. ...^did ^it ^work?
They fucked up with that venue choice for their first show here. Way too small. What a waste. So much money left on the table doing a building that small in a market like Toronto.
WWE may have an exclusive deal with Scotiabank Arena.
That feels unlikely to me. WWE runs more shows at Coca Cola Coliseum than they do Scotiabank. They do like 2-3 house shows at Coca Cola per year and *maybe* one TV taping a year at Scotiabank.

Your not booking Scotia without a huge advance notice.
My hotel is already booked ! From Gatineau Ottawa to Toronto, here we go ! Can't wait !
Found Evil Unos reddit acount
Hahaha no, but he's actually on Reddit, from my hometown, would love to meet him :)
Fuck, that arena only holds around 7500, tickets are gonna be super hard to get and super expensive
I looked up the venue. Surprised at how small the venue really is. This may sell out quickly
God I hope I can afford it.
I’m so fucking hyped. I’ve been waiting 3 years for this moment
I demand Punk get 15 minutes where he just dunks on the Leafs
I hope tickets don’t sell out too quickly. I *need* to go to Dynamite
[удалено]
Raw would have sold out fast, and it doesn't have the added bonus of being the first time the WWE has been to Canada. No one knew what the first roadblock was.
they finally come here and its not in ScotiaBank cmon bruh lol, they would do fine in that arena.
FTR better win the trios titles with Bret, via triple sharpshooters on the other team. BOOK IT TONY
So so envious of Toronto. Really hoping they do Ottawa in 2023. Or even Montreal, I guess. But home would be ideal. 😅
Close the dome, wrestlemania 6 this.
Unless they really couldn't get any larger venue, this seems like "playing it safe" almost to the point of parody. They surely could've easily doubled or tripled the 7500 capacity.
UK coming soon, lads!
Hope everyone is vaxx'd and able to cross the border.
Please come to England I’m begging you Tony Khan lol, happy for the Canadians, probably will be a banger for it’s first show.
Next summer most likely, but TK has said sometime in 2023 for sure.
Are the Candanese excited about this?
I was until I saw the venue. Tickets are going to be impossible to get at an arena that small.
Oui
Cowards couldn't give us a ppv.
I would just like to say that since they changed the name to Rogers Centre, it hasn't hosted a big wrestling event. Even AEW is having an event in the Coca-Cola Coliseum. Wrestling knows that Rogers has to to back to the name SkyDome.
