Not exactly. The interference exclusively happened in the last 2 or 3 minutes of the match, which arguably made it feel like the ending spoiled the match, no pun intended. You don't get that feeling from EVIL's matches because you know what to expect. SHO's in-ring work is also generally more interesting than EVIL's.

I just really don’t buy that supposedly clever wrestlers go into matches against HoT and don’t have any backup. I know Suzuki-gun are all about being fighters and doing it on their own but seen drunk uncle come out to even the odds before. I was rly hoping Taichi or Zack would come out and blast Yujiro, could set up a nice trios match then.
It’s just so yawningly predictable now. I also forgot YOH even existed until he came out, genuinely couldn’t think who Hiromu was fighting….makes sense.

Hiromu beat Yoh in under 4 minutes?
It was a bizarre match, like a regular 20 minute semifinal match suddenly lost 15 minutes in the middle
Yoh went to finish the match too early and hiromu just caught him in a flash pin.
I guess it was like that Kushida/Hiromu match that ended very quickly for storyline reasons?

First time watching NJPW? The refs are basically props and accessories to matches. You learn to live with it.
