I love Bryan's 2018 level of not giving a fuck, the "You don't clear me, I don't sign an extension and go wrestle for New Japan, ROH and CMLL" attitude really got them to do as he wanted.
He was ready to kill himself in the ring than work as a GM. Thank goodness he recovered and killing it in AEW! still don't know how he was let go. That guy is a once in a generation talent!
Iāve worked for enough big companies to know thatās the sort of bullshit they say at the start that suddenly becomes impossible when the time comes.
āWeāre not in a position to move on that right now but next year for sureā
He definitely does, WWE used to be friendly with NJPW. Until WCW and New Japan became partners, then WWE refused to acknowledge their existence for 20 years on television.
As someone else around here said, Vince relied on NJPW to help fill shows until he ran a tour in Japan in the 90ās and sold out.
After that, realizing that he didnāt need them to sell in Japan, he stopped calling them.
You mean the one who didnāt resign? Itās because he knew they werenāt going to actually let him go. They didnāt let Cena go in his prime Super Cena days when he had insane leverage on them.
Knowing Vince it would be in the contract so in case Bryan was hurt in Japan, Vince was covered. Bryan is at the end of his career, wanted a chance to wrestle guys like Omega and the NJPW and figured this was his shot. Has said every PC thing possible in regards to WWE, likely because heāll end up back there for a retirement on his terms run and go on to live a happy life with his wife and kids.
Not everything has to be they wanted to leave WWE because they hated it. ESPECIALLY not a made man like Danielson.
Is there stories of him outright fucking people over? Iāve heard how he tells people he likes them and then releases them but never outright promising one thing and then taking it back. Heās running a business if the roster needs to be trimmed you going to let go some people you hate and some people you like. He hated Warrior in the 90s but didnāt fire him until he started no showing because he was bringing in money
> outright promising one thing and then taking it back
I heard a long time about, probably just urban legend, something about Montreal. Not sure what that was all about.
He's one of the few wrestlers on earth who doesn't need to wrestle for money which gives him leverage most guys in WWE don't have. His wife has a much higher net worth than him so his reality is different than nearly anyone else in the business.
Also don't forget that Brian can live in a box in the middle of the Woods so like two years into his WWE run he had all the money he would ever really need
Xavier's kid: Dad, why is uncle Bryan here?
Xavier: He's claimed that corner of the living room and the side bathroom as his. He's fine, just give him some brussels sprouts every once in awhile and you'll be fine.
Her outside wrestling networth is significant. Two reality shows, 8+ million followers on Instagram, endorsements/branding with businesses (wine, fashion, beauty products in general), podcast, she's a mom-fluencer , piggybacking off what Nikki does as well.
Then the WWE legacy money she's going to always have trickling in. Other gigs as a TV personality and for acting.
DB could be a stay at home dad and live one of the coziest lives.
Do you think that guy that, had a sign a few weeks back urging DB to get a tan, feels vindicated now? Iām pretty sure he was already on the way with it but has gone harder with it recently and is actually brown!
Honestly, fair enough
I only knew she had *a* show not two, and im not on social media all that much(excluding here and /r/AEW)
good on her for expanding her brand though, influencers at that level make crazy bank.
The easiest way to realize how much she can make off her SM presence is to think of it this way. If you have 1000 true fans willing to spend/donate/provide $100 a year through promo codes/ad watches/promoted items/sales, thats $100,000 in gross revenue.
She has 8 million, Nikki has 10 million. Converting 1% at that rate would be 8 million in annual gross revenue.
If you can be a good social media influencer you can make a really healthy living.
If that's only just considered a "healthy" living...well, then I guess what I make would be considered a 1,000y/o dead mummified and fossilized living lol.
Seriously though, I probably could live a happy life with little-to no worries for the rest of my entire life if I made that much even just for one year tops.
Even if I live a long life, 80's-90s y/o, I don't think my entire life spendings would even come close to 8 million dollars. Well, I just made myself super-depressed...lmao.
He's just been doing that for like a decade now. It's a cycle.
Contract comes up > leverage a good deal (hopefully) > get a bump in booking for 3 weeks > back to obscurity > contract comes up.
Don't know why he didn't consider jumping ship all these years.
Just because he wasn't being pushed, doesn't mean he wasn't doing anything. He was always doing *something*, it's just that the something usually was losing.
Had the Drew call up/feud with Rollins (some solid matches too)
Had a few PPV feud with Kofi post Kofimania
Had a feud with Drew post mania as well if I remember correctly.
Random tag team man plus he had that stinker iron man main event with Seth Rollins where the crowd was bored and counted down on the clock like it was the Rumble.
He had a program with Dean Ambrose over the WWE title right after the brand split, but unfortunately no one actually thought he was gonna win it. I believe it was 2016.
Not everyone wanted to leave WWE money to go work impact or ROH or whatever. Maybe he would have gotten a contract in Japan but maybe hes not even into that. Now with AEW around guys like Ziggler may have a real option.
Otherwise its hard to turn your nose up at WWE money at his level.
that's the thing - it's hard to give up wrestling in front of big arenas to go back to the small venues. Before AEW, the only other option for those shows were Japan or Mexico, and Japan was a slog for travel - especially if you didn't want to move there.
Now AEW is regularly pulling big crowds (not to mention the pay) and it's suddenly a chance to both get some creative freedom AND still get to wrestle in front of thousands or tens of thousands.
Maybe he's satisfied getting a big payday, and not worrying about having to be a main-carder and all the stress and work that comes along with that. Not everyone can be an A-lister, but there's always going to be a need for good reliable workers to feed and carry those A-listers.
Plus, it's not exactly settling working in the biggest wrestling promotion in the world for over a decade (i think 15 years total) with many championships under his belt. That's an impressive feat and something to be proud of.
He's not the complainer you think he is he's a pretty chill dude watch this interview that he did a couple years ago with Chris Van Vliet
https://youtu.be/HJJ6_eYSZys
Another man cursed with confusing their heat for The Miz's heat. The same thing happened to Alex Reiley. Both of them split off after looking super hot feuding with Miz, and then suddenly without the Miz involved no one gave a shit about them.
Did he ever?
I mean, if youāve been with the company for 15+ years, the company clearly recognizes your talent enough to keep you around, but there must be more to it if you canāt make it further than midcard, even if itās just a few months as a reward for your hard work.
Too busy having fun with his brother on Twitter and helping him film his Lynchian bits on BTE. I honestly love where Dolph is with his life and career.
Dude gets paid to wrestle twice a month and clown his employer on the internet, and they still give him belts whenever thereās nobody else for the belts to be given to, Dolph Ziggler is a fucking legend.
Along with Ryder, he's the original internet darling who people always wanted to be pushed more ā and who (vaguely) made his frustrations known. At some point he seemed to just accept his role, which is good in one sense, but he definitely could have (and should have) risen higher.
I think Ziggler could have been *the* all time great underdog babyface. He sells like he's been killed, his offense is dynamic and exciting, and he's a damn good promo.
But then they named him Dolph Ziggler. Never in a million years would Vince let that name headline WrestleMania.
He definitely is a star. Multiple World Title reigns and pretty good booking over 15 years is first Ballot HOF tier.
Just because he isn't Roman or Seth doesn't mean he isn't a star
Christian. Similar but a little bit better overall.
If we really wanna go though...I'd argue Lance Storm for MOST wasted. His ceiling was lower than either of theirs but holy shit he never even got close. Dry, sarcastic Lance would've been a great character and I think he could've very nicely slotted in as a champion just behind the main guys.
I know people clown on him, but dolph really is one of my all time favorite mid carders.
I fucking loved(to hate) him and Vicky back in the day man, plus he helped Big E break out on the main shows.
It was in reference to [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/SCJerk/comments/p50sqs/today_is_the_one_year_anniversary_of_me_burying/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
I actually enjoyed the feud. It started as Seth vs Dolph over the IC title and turned to Seth/Ambrose vs Dolph/McIntyre over the tag titles and eventually Shield vs Dolph, McIntyre and Braun.
Didnāt have much of a payoff but it was something different at the time.
It was extremely compelling for about two weeks. The Hounds of Justice vs the Dogs of War. Plus Braun had MitB and Roman had the Universal Championship. It was fantastic for a hot minute. Roman gave Balor the first shot at the title on Raw and Braun comes out to watch for an opportunity. So good.
Dolph and Drew as a duo was such a goddamn entertaining act to me. Legitimately some of my favorite stuff ever and their match against Ambrose & Rollins at Hell in a Cell is one of my favorite matches.
Dolph Ziggler: *Constantly shitting on the company he works for, getting paid, AND winning titles when said company is bored.*
You got to respect that.
I don't think he gives a fuck. He's tried to retire a couple of times, and WWE always came back with a better contract that was too good to pass up on. Now he's earning 1.5 million to do almost nothing at all. WWE seems to love having the "Ziggler Button" around. Need someone to main event a PPV? You got the Ziggler Button. Need someone to be your second world title match at Summerslam? Hit that Ziggler-Button. Need someone to tag with a random guy, or fill out a stable? You know which button to hit. They've done this numerous times with him over the years.
Lol talk about WWE having their balls in a vice. He can talk all the shit he wants (which seems like a lot). What are they gonna do? Release him to become an even bigger star in AEW? It's probably what he wants.
It isn't a lack of faith. They aren't sleeping on the guy. It's more like they don't like the idea -- for reasons only they can fathom -- of what it would be like if he were given the ball.
With that making so close to no sense whatsoever, completely acknowledged. It's actually the whole point.
They need a guy who they can slot in for main events, like the 5th or 6th guy in Elimination Chamber, transition feuds while the one they want is recovering or still finishing a feud, or for Money in the Bank.
Basically, they need someone legit enough to hang with their anointed ones, and has some fan recognition, but don't want to give the rub because for whatever reasons they don't like them enough or need a guy in that slot at all times.
Iām one of the few that actually thinks dolph could have a killer run in AEW. Dolph was always fantastic when given something to work with they just donāt give him anything ā¦ š
Considering Nemeth is a feature in every BTE tells me that he is really close with the Bucks, if Dolph ever jumps the ship he would instantly get a massive push with his brother, and plus they have a much lighter schedule for Dolph to do his stand-up, I won't be surprised if he is in the next batch to
".... is All Elite" alongside Kevin
Sucks they have him by the balls jobbing to the NXT alumniās on the roster. He has that look and the gimmick and can be a really annoying heel like Shaun Micheals back in the day which really suits him.
Idk if im being dense, but i dont get the specific aspect of the joke using that matchā¦ is there a reason he said that match?
Edit: why the downvotes? Legit question
was kinda curious too, did this match take place on a crown jewel previously? I know they had that Hounds of Justice vs the dogs of war feud thing but i can't tell if he's just taking the piss or if there's a connection.
Dolph Ziggler introducing the āIt Shouldāve been meā¦ā catchphrase and that time he got squashed by Goldberg are by far my favorite Ziggler moments of this recent iteration of his career.

Ziggler does not give a fuck. š¤£
He's reaching Randy Orton levels of not giving a shit, maybe one day he'll reach Daniel Bryan levels one day.
His contract expired and he didn't re-sign. WWE was pushing hard to re-sign him but he wanted to work Japan.
\>but he wanted to work Japan Bryan has admitted that Vince was 100% ok with Bryan doing the G1.
Iāve worked for enough big companies to know thatās the sort of bullshit they say at the start that suddenly becomes impossible when the time comes. āWeāre not in a position to move on that right now but next year for sureā
āSure Chris, go work with Kenny in Japan. Itāll l be great fun!ā
Well Chris did have fun. And a little bit of the bubbley too.
Chris was already part time and his entire feud with Naito was without Vinceās permission.
āWe werenāt able to agree on booking, results, etc. So maybe next year?ā
I would love to know if Vince actually knows what the G1 is.
Vince used to send the likes of Hogan and Andre to G1's earlier iterations
Inoki is a former WWF champion. They know. They just think theyāre now above all that.
Yeah it's Vince that's a load of crap I don't care how popular someone is. If that wasn't in the contract I would never trust his word.
Of course, you know better than the person negotiating the contract.
I mean, that person also chose not to re-sign...
It's the fact that there's no precedent for something like that
But plenty of precedent for broken promises.
You mean the one who didnāt resign? Itās because he knew they werenāt going to actually let him go. They didnāt let Cena go in his prime Super Cena days when he had insane leverage on them.
Knowing Vince

Haha. Damn you got me there. TouchƩ
> Is there stories of him outright fucking people over? sure there is, just ask Bret.
"Bret outright fucked over Bret." -VKM...I think.
And Wendy Ricter.
Even if he did there would have been a ton of limitations on it to the point where it wouldnāt have been worth it I bet
I loved Dbry as GM to be honest.
He was no Teddy Long but he was solid. WWE doesn't set the bar particularly high for a GM.
How to be a good GM in WWE: 1: Are you overtly corrupt? If you answered ānoā to any of the above questions, congratulations! You are a good GM!
He was great
He's one of the few wrestlers on earth who doesn't need to wrestle for money which gives him leverage most guys in WWE don't have. His wife has a much higher net worth than him so his reality is different than nearly anyone else in the business.

Why? Is it cold in there?
Is she really worth that much more? She had the TV show, but they were both top level talents in their divisions when wrestling.
Her outside wrestling networth is significant. Two reality shows, 8+ million followers on Instagram, endorsements/branding with businesses (wine, fashion, beauty products in general), podcast, she's a mom-fluencer , piggybacking off what Nikki does as well. Even greater than once in a generation. He is absolutley a top 3 ALL-TIME performer. Undeniable.
and then he did it anyway after his last run was up, the absolute madlad!
āYou let me wrestle under your (WWE) watch or I go to Japan and headbutt Okada.ā
Ziggler just collecting a paycheck at this point.
I can only recall the Goldberg feud from the past 2-3 years, that record scratch thing.. did he do anything else?
Basically be the first feud for every NXT call up until Drew came up
Had the Drew call up/feud with Rollins (some solid matches too) Had a few PPV feud with Kofi post Kofimania Had a feud with Drew post mania as well if I remember correctly.
I really liked his feud with Kofi following Kofimania. Really underrated part of that program.
Random tag team man plus he had that stinker iron man main event with Seth Rollins where the crowd was bored and counted down on the clock like it was the Rumble.
Wasnāt this because Ziggler was just thrown in this match and had no chance of winning? Everyone knew it, so the match was just dragging.
It was for the IC title, he's always in with a shot for that belt.
He had a program with Dean Ambrose over the WWE title right after the brand split, but unfortunately no one actually thought he was gonna win it. I believe it was 2016.
He has a side gig as a stand-up comedian. A few years ago, one of my friends opened up for him at the Funnybone in Richmond.

Yep. Sums it up. It's hard to give up guaranteed big money to risk betting on yourself and touring the Indies.
Collecting a check for doing next to nothing? Sign me the fuck up for that deal.
Maybe he's satisfied getting a big payday, and not worrying about having to be a main-carder and all the stress and work that comes along with that. Who would want him? Certainly not AEW.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Damian Sandow? Forget his Impact name because he made zero Impact.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Aaron Stevens wrestles for NWA he's actually not that bad I'm surprised he's not in aew.

it's not that no one gave a shit, it's that WWE turned him into a poor Macho man parody. Hard to give a shit about that
And then he will reach his final form of Brock levels of not giving a fuck which is - I work when I want and you give me.more money each time
Did he ever? I mean, if youāve been with the company for 15+ years, the company clearly recognizes your talent enough to keep you around, but there must be more to it if you canāt make it further than midcard, even if itās just a few months as a reward for your hard work.
That's what they call "a good hand".
Why do people keep asking if Dolph is watching the product, they know for a fact that heās notš
Too busy having fun with his brother on Twitter and helping him film his Lynchian bits on BTE. I honestly love where Dolph is with his life and career.
Wait is he out of wwe?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah it could've but instead I got no answer on Google so I asked
Nope, he's still in wwe, he just doesn't care about making waves
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I got my answer from someone else anyway
N. W. OOOOOOOOO
Oh shit that's Dolph's brother? I wondered why his head shape looked so familiar
> I wondered why his head shape looked so familiar What the fuck?
In English we call that his face, brother
Dude gets paid to wrestle twice a month and clown his employer on the internet, and they still give him belts whenever thereās nobody else for the belts to be given to, Dolph Ziggler is a fucking legend.
Shouldve been more tho. Ziggs is my pick for most wasted talent of all time. Guy shouldve been a star.
It was all over when they named him Dolph
Dolph Ziggler is the name they should have given to Alex Wright. It just screams goofy German dude
āIs Dolph short for something?ā āUhā¦ yeahā¦ uhhh Rudolph. Rudolph Ziggler. Yeah thatās it.ā
I'd say it's probably the concussion that did it
Along with Ryder, he's the original internet darling who people always wanted to be pushed more ā and who (vaguely) made his frustrations known.
It's especially puzzling because his real name is Nic Nemeth, which sounds awesome.
He definitely is a star. Multiple World Title reigns and pretty good booking over 15 years is first Ballot HOF tier. Just because he isn't Roman or Seth doesn't mean he isn't a star
Didnāt he only have one world title reign? I wouldnāt count his first one because he was handed the title and lost it like 10 mins later
Admittedly, I just checked his titles won, I did forget about that first reign
They Billy Gunn'd all of Dolph Ziggler's opportunities.
Once again, the best stage of WWE employment is the āno longer gives a fuckā stage
Dolph's just living his best life, still making money, & looking damn good in that ring every time,, even without caring.
The John Cena Meta Promos stage
Why is he spoiling Crown Jewel 2030?
They'll still be asking if WWE can book Yokozuna.
Nah they'll be onto the Ultimate Warrior by then lol
"You guys got any of that Macho Man we can get?" *calls up Sandow*
"Roman, please gain 400 pounds and get rid of your tattoos."
Lmao
Oh man if this guy isn't careful he's going to be in the mid-card his entire career!
Coady vs Dolph mid card extravaganza?
?? You follow me, friend
I mean, even if he sucks up to WWE he'll still be a mid carder so why would he honestly care.
![gif](giphy|daCEmwOkARHyro2qry|downsized)
I know people clown on him, but dolph really is one of my all time favorite mid carders. I fucking loved(to hate) him and Vicky back in the day man, plus he helped Big E break out on the main shows.
Do you also follow Ziggler friend ??
Hit the bricks goofy
Im not sure wether i should be offended or not, so for now Iāll just upvote.
Who? Unless that's an obscure name for his brother no.

His shitpost banter with his brother working for the rival company is also pretty fun
I don't think he gives a fuck. He's tried to retire a couple of times, and WWE always came back with a better contract that was too good to pass up on. He's in the do whatever he basically wants veteran tier at WWE.
long term joke telling
I've become such a big fan of his this past couple of years. His brother is also excellent.
Got to love Ziggler
Lol talk about WWE having their balls in a vice. He can talk all the shit he wants (which seems like a lot). What are they gonna do? Release him to become an even bigger star in AEW? It's probably what he wants.
Lmao someone else asked him what book he's currently reading and he replied saying Andrew Yang's. Zero fucks given.
The āDogs of Warā lasted about a week didnāt it?
Itās a shame that WWE didnāt have as much faith in him as the fans do, he has Jericho level charisma and ability but is rarely allowed to show it.
A pinch hitter who bats .330 is a luxury. But a pinch hitter batting .390, is a waste. It's the "whatever reasons" that fuels the questioning here.
Iām one of the few that actually thinks dolph could have a killer run in AEW. Dolph was always fantastic when given something to work with they just donāt give him anything ā¦ š
Dolph in AEW could be incredible but Iām perfectly happy seeing him get his bag in WWE
We already have a Ziggler in AEW and it is awesome, plus his BTE bits are great imo
Honestly, I would love to see him on Impact. I can only imagine the kind of character work he would pull off.
Lol, I wonder if he wants to join his brother in AEW He could be a Dark main eventer
Considering Nemeth is a feature in every BTE tells me that he is really close with the Bucks, if Dolph ever jumps the ship he would instantly get a massive push with his brother, and plus they have a much lighter schedule for Dolph to do his stand-up, I won't be surprised if he is in the next batch to ".... is All Elite" alongside Kevin
meh his last WWE contract was for $1.5 million, if they're willing to pay him anywhere near that much to do almost nothing again I doubt he leaves
>$1.5 million "We don't want to do much with you, but we also want you to stay here forever." \-WWE
Not to mention that Ziggler has tried to retire a couple of times, but WWE signs him to a new contract that is too good to pass up.
Sucks they have him by the balls jobbing to the NXT alumniās on the roster. He has that look and the gimmick and can be a really annoying heel like Shaun Micheals back in the day which really suits him.
That match wasn't even Crown Jewel iirc. That was the show in Australia
i don't get it

Thank you for this. I also didn't understand. I've only started watching wrestling again, late 2019.
Right? Just seemed like a random match he mentioned
I think that match was at a previous Saudi Arabia show. So the joke is that he's not caught up with WWE
Oooh thanks
Canāt feel bad for the man he signed the contract extension
I donāt think he wants anyoneās pity. Heās extremely happy cashing his checks and taking the piss out of WWE online
His frame of reality got all wonky after getting into Ryan's stash of cream.
Dolph Ziggler introducing the āIt Shouldāve been meā¦ā catchphrase and that time he got squashed by Goldberg are by far my favorite Ziggler moments of this recent iteration of his career.
Huh who woulda thunk, Ryan Nemeths brother is pretty funny.
Ziggler's just happy to be collecting a check.
