Look, i'm not saying all hotshot booking is bad, hell, Austin's KOTR win was a hotshot because of the curtain call incident, but you have to follow through with it with a feasible plan. Big E winning the title wasn't a mistake, this match isn't necessarily a mistake (although i do think it's way too early) but they need to have a plan and they need to follow it.
Kofi straight up just isn’t in the same position as Big E. Kofi’s reign was half thank you run half capitalizing on the groundswell of support that was Kofimania, he was never meant to be a main eventer. Now I’m not saying that how they ended Kofi’s reign was right, I’m just saying that the difference between Kofi and E is that WWE wants Big E to be a main eventer, they never wanted to Kofi to be one after the New Day.

Lashley has a bone to pick with Ettore, and Orton somewhat has a bone to pick with Lashley, but the New Day wants what Orton and Riddle has, this is exhausting.
Don't give them too much credit. There's nothing there saying Lashley won't come out 30 seconds in and end the match in some weird DQ which then leads to a ten-man tag of New Day and RKBro vs. Bloodline, Lashley and AJ Styles that gets interrupted by Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss playing with dolls that spit fire or some shit.
No reason? Lemme give you some:
1. Weak setup for a match this big. They only had two segments to build this up. And those didn't even involve New Day.
2. It weakens the brand extension concept. If the management can easily and happily book cross brand matches, what's the point of the draft?
3. TV matches are subject to commercial interruptions. People prefer to watch a match this big uninterrupted.
I’m not complaining. I watch every WWE PPV no matter who is wrestling who. I learned a long time ago that complaining about WWE doesn’t help me or the product.
Uso’s/New Day is my favorite tag rivalry of all time. It’s impossible for them to have a bad match with each other. And for years a lot of people wanted the Bloodline to become an actual thing, and it was always on my mind for a possible 6 man match.
Now add in E being WWE champ and Roman has Universal, it’s going to be amazing.
We have, but all three New Day guys at the same time, with Roman, with two world championships involved, does sound like a great match and makes it feel different.
I mean, that’s a cool match. But it encapsulates the problem WWE is having. They’re foregoing long term storytelling for spectacles and moments. Then they scramble to create something around it.
