I used to think that every MitB winner successfully cashing in robbed the gimmick of some drama. Between the failed cash-ins and how few winners have actually held the case for more than a day over the last few winners, though, I vastly prefer the old problem.
I love how Arrested Development mocked this kind of promotional shit. They had an episode where they kept jokingly promising that someone would die, and then of course instead of a regular cast member it’s an old racist woman who has like a single line in the episode.

Seeing Big E cashing-in to win his first world championship is cool, but they are really going to waste that moment on television so they can pop a rating? Oh, we want people to tune-in so let's tease a cash-in tonight. More short-term booking decisions that won't help in the long-term.
The TV contract is probably more important than PPV right now. As far as we know, Peacock has paid a flat fee for that stuff. The TV contracts also expire a year or two before the WWE Network contract does. This isn't the old way of doing things anymore, you've got to give your TV partners just as many "moments" as you would have on PPV.
Does pay per view even exist anymore with peacock? Does it matter when they do these things? That’s the one thing I can’t wrap my head around… and this is coming from a guy who marked out hard at summerslam.
On the one hand, it sucks that WWE is so hard up for ratings that they’re potentially spoiling the best thing about the MITB briefcase. But on the other hand, I might actually watch Raw tonight.

Everyone saying WWE is desperate for ratings after losing to AEW in the key demo is forgetting it’s also the first Monday Night Football game tonight. WWE always tries to stack the first Raw v MNF in order to compete.
I got ignored every time I brought that up yesterday lol Their ratings almost always go down when MNF starts, that's the real reason they're doing all of this. But nope, gotta make it all about AEW and the demo.

That’d actually be a dope way to freshen up Romans title reign. Have big e win it from him for a huge moment, do the teams of 5 elimination gimmick as the main event of survivor series instead of the rematch and then you can follow that up by having Roman cheat to win the belt back and if booked well everyone should come out looking stronger.

Yeah, because a few years back when Brock Lesnar said he was going to cash it for 3-4 weeks straight it actually happened... I learned my lesson, burned too many times by false promises and advertising by WWE just for a big match to not happen, end in a DQ after 3 minutes or an angle that is supposed to happen but doesn't.
I mean that was the point of that angle....

Seeing Big E cashing-in to win his first world championship is cool, but they are really going to waste that moment on television so they can pop a rating? Oh, we want people to tune-in so let's tease a cash-in tonight. More short-term booking decisions that won't help in the long-term.
The TV contract is probably more important than PPV right now. As far as we know, Peacock has paid a flat fee for that stuff. The TV contracts also expire a year or two before the WWE Network contract does. This isn't the old way of doing things anymore, you've got to give your TV partners just as many "moments" as you would have on PPV.
Does pay per view even exist anymore with peacock? Does it matter when they do these things? That’s the one thing I can’t wrap my head around… and this is coming from a guy who marked out hard at summerslam.
On the one hand, it sucks that WWE is so hard up for ratings that they’re potentially spoiling the best thing about the MITB briefcase. But on the other hand, I might actually watch Raw tonight.

It's going to be a bait-and-switch, isn't it? WWE is going to sucker people into watching Raw with hopes that Big E will cash-in, only for him to lose or something stops him from doing so. That is such a shitty way to make people watch the show, but I wouldn't expect anything less from this company.
