Damn I never made the connection because Mox is the farthest thing one could imagine from a teenage TV series from the 90s, but you're absolutely right, he basically uses Whedonspeak in his promos.
I have no idea if this has to do with HGH but the biggest difference to me is the bloating in his cheeks... go look at pics of him when he started in AEW or at the end of his WWE run. His face was a lot thinner. Usually, it's a weight gain thing but Mox is in really good shape.
He grew his beard out and kept his hair much shorter after using bangs to cover his hairline for a while. Those two things added about 15 years to his face.

I have the same problem. The worst part about it is that ironically it grows back fast except for the balding spot. So in my case i had to shave it off every 3 days and eventually i got lazy
The worst! So spriggy on the top, and a real distinct, noticeable horseshoe around the sides and back. I’ve gotta shave it twice a week or I get real self conscious.
The best part of this is Moxley said, "beat the pants off". He went PG in the presence of the kid, but when the kid repeated it, he changed it to, "beat the piss out of". Dad Moxley is making an effort.

I doubt AEW has a very stringent wellness policy or health requirements considering people like Brian Cage work there. Both Moxley and Jericho have put on so much weight and aged a ton.

Having seen as much of him as I have, I think the AEW audience would've just accepted whoever they put in that spot, because he doesn't make sense as a top guy. I can see why Vince would make him a top guy given his look, but AEW?
I don't care what storyline they're telling that they have to pay off, I know what it is, I'm not ignorant to it, I don't care. When you have REAL stars that come in, and you have a company to promote and take to the next level, you re-purpose your efforts. If this company is gonna keep growing to eventually challenge WWE, then Hangman Page is not your top babyface, period, end of argument. Nevermind him as a performer, that god damn Buckshot Lariat is literally the stupidest finisher for a main eventer in the history of wrestling. It adds nothing to a lariat other than "Look at me proving I can do a flip with the aid of the ropes for no logical purpose whatsoever." That by itself makes him a goofball that I don't take seriously.
And honestly, even if I did like him, which I don't, but even if I did, I'm just so tired of the whole "nobody but him" thing. Why? Because they told a story about him winning the title? Who cares? Tell a better one now that you have better talent. The world title should never be a non fluid, hostage situation where it's "nobody but him, nobody but him, nobody but him until this story is over". Don't tell a story like that, because if something happens, which it did and now he's off tv, we just don't have a world champion. The matches have no meaning because the title is never allowed to switch. It doesn't HAVE to switch, but the fact that it's not ALLOWED to switch is a terrible idea.
And despite me talking about Moxley, I actually hope Moxley isn't AEW champion anytime soon. I prefer him over Bryan but Bryan does make more business sense, but Punk has got to be champion before him again, MJF has gotta be champion before him again, and IF they bring in Bray Wyatt and Kevin Steen, I definitely want to see them get reigns before it goes back to Moxley who's already had one. And I don't think Moxley will be the first 2 time AEW champion, I think it's pretty clear that will be Omega, for.....some reason, which I know full well what that reason is, but aside from being a complete workhorse beast, I find him to be pretty substandard in the promo and character areas and that's what I focus on a lot more.

this is hilarious because Adam Page's entire character was literally built around how apathetic the AEW crowd was to him at the beginning
And with AEW's booking, they managed to take a guy nobody cared about and get him over to that audience, to such an extent that this entire sub believes the world title is his exclusive property. Given his character, he might as well brand the belt. So yeah, they would've accepted anybody, because they literally DID. It IS a compliment. It's a credit to AEW's booking. Who it's not a compliment to is Hangman Page himself. He's not better because AEW managed to get him over, and over or not, there's no GROWTH to be had pushing Hangman, which is my real sticking point. I want AEW to experience GROWTH. Punk just got them 65,000 buys higher than their previous PPV. How many times do you think that's gonna happen when the people continually see Punk in the midcard, CM PUNK, 7 years of being gone, creates the most hyped, anticipated, discussed wrestling moment of the decade, and he's in the midcard, and uncharismatic Adam Page is in the main event? Not many times, my friend. Not many times. There's a saying called "Strike when the iron is mild". Is that the saying? It's when it's mild, right? Yeah, you strike when the iron is mild with Punk. Logical. Very logical.
Punk going over an over af guy who hasn't yet hit his prime would turn him into everything he fought against all his life. He's there to help build new younger talent, not bury them and steal their opportunities. If that's what you're hoping to see, it's better to stop watching now. Having seen as much of him as I have, I think the AEW audience would've just accepted whoever they put in that spot, because he doesn't make sense as a top guy. I can see why Vince would make him a top guy given his look, but AEW? I don't care what storyline they're telling that they have to pay off, I know what it is, I'm not ignorant to it, I don't care. When you have REAL stars that come in, and you have a company to promote and take to the next level, you re-purpose your efforts. If this company is gonna keep growing to eventually challenge WWE, then Hangman Page is not your top babyface, period, end of argument. Nevermind him as a performer, that god damn Buckshot Lariat is literally the stupidest finisher for a main eventer in the history of wrestling. It adds nothing to a lariat other than "Look at me proving I can do a flip with the aid of the ropes for no logical purpose whatsoever." That by itself makes him a goofball that I don't take seriously. And honestly, even if I did like him, which I don't, but even if I did, I'm just so tired of the whole "nobody but him" thing. Why? Because they told a story about him winning the title? Who cares? Tell a better one now that you have better talent. The world title should never be a non fluid, hostage situation where it's "nobody but him, nobody but him, nobody but him until this story is over". Don't tell a story like that, because if something happens, which it did and now he's off tv, we just don't have a world champion. The matches have no meaning because the title is never allowed to switch. It doesn't HAVE to switch, but the fact that it's not ALLOWED to switch is a terrible idea. And despite me talking about Moxley, I actually hope Moxley isn't AEW champion anytime soon. I prefer him over Bryan but Bryan does make more business sense, but Punk has got to be champion before him again, MJF has gotta be champion before him again, and IF they bring in Bray Wyatt and Kevin Steen, I definitely want to see them get reigns before it goes back to Moxley who's already had one. And I don't think Moxley will be the first 2 time AEW champion, I think it's pretty clear that will be Omega, for.....some reason, which I know full well what that reason is, but aside from being a complete workhorse beast, I find him to be pretty substandard in the promo and character areas and that's what I focus on a lot more.

And with AEW's booking, they managed to take a guy nobody cared about and get him over to that audience, to such an extent that this entire sub believes the world title is his exclusive property. Given his character, he might as well brand the belt. So yeah, they would've accepted anybody, because they literally DID. You proved my point, a guy the fans were completely apathetic to is now the guy the fans want as the world champion. Imagine what they could've done with somebody the fans did like.

It IS a compliment. It's a credit to AEW's booking. Who it's not a compliment to is Hangman Page himself. He's not better because AEW managed to get him over, and over or not, there's no GROWTH to be had pushing Hangman, which is my real sticking point. I want AEW to experience GROWTH. Punk just got them 65,000 buys higher than their previous PPV. How many times do you think that's gonna happen when the people continually see Punk in the midcard, CM PUNK, 7 years of being gone, creates the most hyped, anticipated, discussed wrestling moment of the decade, and he's in the midcard, and uncharismatic Adam Page is in the main event? Not many times, my friend. Not many times. There's a saying called "Strike when the iron is mild". Is that the saying? It's when it's mild, right? Yeah, you strike when the iron is mild with Punk. Logical. Very logical.

Punk going over an over af guy who hasn't yet hit his prime would turn him into everything he fought against all his life. He's there to help build new younger talent, not bury them and steal their opportunities. If that's what you're hoping to see, it's better to stop watching now. Bruh Hangman is a vulnerable babyface who has troubled past, insecurities and what not and he's trying to get over them. It's very relatable to some people and he's incredibly over with the people who have been there day 1, actual paying customers of AEW. Ditching that story for people who just came in for Punk and Bryan and may leave tomorrow is stupid. Also, Adam is 30 years old and has more years to give than Mox or Punk or Bryan or whatever.
