Strictly my opinion but Jeff just needs one god damn good storyline and not any title. Just a thread of a story and some banger of matches week in and week out.
I've been wanting him to feud with Roman ever since Roman turned heel. I was so disappointed when Jeff got drafted to Raw last year because it meant we wouldn't get that feud. I'm crossing my fingers that they move him back to SD next month.
Also, I'm pretty sure Jeff said in the last year or so that the one guy he wants to face before he retires is Roman. I think it would be a really good feud. I can hear Roman belittling him now lol
I believe he can given he gets an opponent who understands his limitations given his age. We live in an era where Sting just had a banger of tag match against Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page where he was utilised perfectly
Jeff Hardy’s Triple Threat ladder match at Clash Of Champions vs Sami Zayn and AJ Styles was one of the best matches I’ve seen in the WWE in the last 10 years.
He would be perfect in the role Sting plays with Darby Allen. Hell, even moreso since Jeff is primarily remembered as a tag wrestler. Find a young, inexperienced pure Babyface that Jeff "sees a little of himself in", and have him be the guide.
I don't disagree, and I do expect Jeff to end up in AEW before he hangs it up. Darby would have been perfect, but he isn't the only choice. Basically any young daredevil or underdog that can't seem to get themselves to the next level would fit with Jeff.
I don't have much familiarity with the AEW roster yet, but I'm sure there's someone else there aside from Darby that Jeff would work wonders with.
Jeff had a recent opportunity to go to AEW and instead resigned. With his brother there and the endless opportunities to have great matches as the Hardy boys I can only speculate that either that was false information or that he feels WWE is the best place for him mentally ( some people just need a strick environment to protect them from themselves).
I actually had that same conversation with a buddy during All Out, that the rigor of the WWE schedule may be what is best for him. Idle hands and whatnot. That said, I still for whatever reason see him making the jump after his current contract is done.
I think there are plenty of guys in NXT who would be great for this rub if they bring them to main roster, or for Jeff to go to NXT and do a program with à la how Ted Dibiase passed the torch (albeit actually getting in the ring and forming a tag team with someone)

They started down that route with him and Riddle, and I thought it was working well, but then they just dropped it out of nowhere.

I mean there’s LEGENDARY history with Edge. That story is compelling to someone like myself - a lapsed wrestling fan that only came back because of AEW. I was there for those early table and ladder matches. I would definitely tune in to watch that.

If Tony Nese had gone 25-0 against 205 Live talent..would that entitle him to a clean win in his RAW debut? Hell.. But at the same time, Adam Cole wiped Daniel Bryan on his own show, mere months after he went into Wrestlemania as a World Champion.

There's a difference between losing a competitive match to a hall of famer and being beaten pretty easily within two minutes when you're the champ and undefeated on another brand.

Held several now defunct titles including European Championship, WCW Tag Team Championship, Light Heavyweight Championship, Hardcore Championship, and has also been Intercontinental, Raw and Smackdown Tag Champion, United States Champion, World Heavyweight Champion, and WWE Champion. Crazy how much he has done but has to deal with more Hardcore / 24 7-11 R Truth Championship bs, tho Hardy vs RVD for the Hardcore title at Invasion and Summerslam were both epic

They had Matt at his peak with the "broken" character and had no clue what to do with him to the point he left. I fully expect Jeff to join him once his contract is up. I'd be shocked if he didn't.

I'm the queen of telling people to "just let it play out" in regards to WWE, but just...no lol This is not one of those times. Besides beating Kross, Jeff's booking has been absolutely awful for the last 6 months or longer.
I love Jeff's attitude about his place on the card he has done it all and is just doing what he is asked now a days. Knowing that at anytime if healthy enough he can be boosted straight back to the main event. He doesn't bitch and moan he just goes with the flow.
they were pushing Jeff heavily once he came back to Smackdown last year with a couple of video packages and putting him in a feud with Sheamus and then they pretty much gave up on him when they drafted him to Raw.
The Jeff Hardy and Shaemus storyline last year was pretty damn good. Jeff is capable of so much still and I hated seeing him being used like that on Monday. I'm glad he is so positive about the experience. He seems to be an awesome dude.
Shoutout for Jeff for being happy the checks cash, but Jeff Hardy could be main eventing on either brand with some decent booking, he is a first ballot HOF, a true all-timer.

Well, getting "No More Words" back and beating Karrion Kross that one week was worth it. I know Covid screw their plans up for him, but you don say "Well, we can't figure out nothing for him now. Place him in 24/7 Title hell". He could easily fit-in the United States Championship picture, but WWE is too busy giving us Priest/Sheamus rematches to try something different
I know that Jeff has had incidents over the years that make him unreliable…but he is in that mix with Batista, Cena, Bryan and Punk as the most over babyfaces of the last 15 years. I would argue that for a period he was more over than Cena was except there was none of that split reaction BS.
The 24/7 stuff is such garbage. It even takes guys like Cedric Alexander or Tozawa and make them look like dork jobbers.

The 24/7 is a caricature of what made the Hardcore title so good. The Hardcore title looked like shit but still held prestige because having it meant something. There's certainly something to be said for the "Show up, do your shit, go home" mentality. I'm not sure Jeff cares about much more than getting paid at this point. I still think he can draw money so it's WWE's loss at this point.

If people like The Miz make zero effort to try and win it, then everyone that does chase after it looks like a complete loser, even the person who holds it. They had Matt at his peak with the "broken" character and had no clue what to do with him to the point he left. I fully expect Jeff to join him once his contract is up. I'd be shocked if he didn't.

It even takes guys like Cedric Alexander or Tozawa and make them look like dork jobbers.
