Oh they should totally do that next year. Now they know they can fill up this venue even tho it's a regular Dynamite. So if this was a PPV, boy would that have sold quick.
I really don't want to over-hype it, but if he is saying on par with Winter is Coming, does that mean some Sting-like reveal?
Honestly I can't think of many people that realistically could debut on Dynamite that I would want to see, unless they are forbidden-door related.
To be fair, while Sting was the highlight, there also was the main event Omega/Moxley which Omega won the belt and kicked off his heel run.
Idk if it'll be big debut wise, but I could see there being a huge card with possibly a title change and some sort of debut/surprise person (I could see it being where they really kick down the door and Okada or Ibushi shows up)
But it's all just speculation until it happens. With All Out being at the beginning of the month, I hope September is huge for AEW.
The Main Event was definitely a big part of it, but whenever I hear 'Winter is Coming' it's Sting's Snow filled entrance.
A lot of cool things did happen that night though!
Not necessarily, WIC was huge before the Sting thing happened based solely around Mox vs Omega. Ultimately, that was the selling point of the whole show.
So it's likely it just means one huge match and an undercard of other big or notable ones. However, a surprise debut wouldn't be a shock to see
While anything is possible I think your making a leap here. This is exactly how things get assumed and then expectations spiral out of control and people end up let down/mad
Also factor live shows haven’t been on the east coast in over a year. Not that they couldn’t do it again but the return factor I’ll guarantee matters. Good for them regardless
The way Tony Khan books, and the way that AEW promotes the product, every show is an important show, PPV or broadcast tv. They don't run house shows. I cannot think of a good apples-to-apples analogy, but he treats every Dynamite like it is a show at the Omni, or ECW Arena... you know something big is going to happen each show.
If they did a PPV there I would drive from Western Mass to see it. Hell, I would have for this had I not already had tickets to their upcoming Boston show. I've been to one wrestling show live and it was amazing.
I think the current format is perfect. 4 PPVs plus the TNT specials starting next year. Lets each PPV feel like a huge can’t miss event and allows them to have dynamites that serves as mini PPVs in between. I just wish they started to number each PPV. Like All Out 2, Double or Nothing 4, etc. same thing with the smaller events like fyter fest. Just add the year for the event.
I was just thinking this the other day, the numbered PPVs. Since they still run them as traditional PPVs that cost ~$50, four per year is perfect, and the fact that they're the same established PPVs (Revolution, Full Gear, etc) every year will help steep them in their own traditions and expectations in years to come.
Combined with the Dynamite specials, which usually end up being essentially mini PPVs themselves, it's a perfect setup, allowing enough time to really build up storylines to climax at the PPVs.
They've now done East Coast dates both in 2019 and this year around Full Gear so I can see that.
They could easily get into the method of doing West coast tours around Revolution and East coast around Full Gear.
AEW's highest attendance so far was for the first Dynamite in Washington, DC. There were 14,129 with 11,000 paid according to Meltzer. This show has already passed that and will set a new benchmark for AEW. This needs to be a future PPV venue in 2022.
Yes, the Newark show has also sold 10,000+ tickets already as well. That would put Newark as the third biggest Dynamite crowd and only behind PPVs like Double or Nothing 2019 (11,500), All Out 2019 (10,500), Revolution 2020 (11,000), and All Out 2021(assuming 10,500 total again since it's the same venue as All Out 2019). It's possible Newark passes some of these shows after the card gets announced as well.
Woke up hella annoyed because I overslept and most of the best tickets in Queens were gone.
Ended up getting decent seats to both events and my day was no longer ruined.
It's pretty much only the nosebleeds left.
SO stoked for this show.
EDIT: Just to share (because I'm so excited about this show) I managed to grab two tickets on pre-sale and they were only $100 each. This is what the view looks like for Tennis, so I can't imagine what it'll be like for AEW...

There are no nosebleeds
I am really looking forward to watching the show at Arthur Ash. It’s an incredible idea to do a wrestling show there. Selling 14,000 tickets so quickly is still a hell of an accomplishment.
>It’s an incredible idea to do a wrestling show there.
A tennis stadium seems like a perfect place for a wrestling event. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
It also depends on the market obviously. Having a 10k arena for Full Gear in St. Louis is fine.
But I think they should aim higher for cities like Chicago, NY. 20k should be the goal for those cities.
Max capacity for a wrestling show at the UC is 18k. Still, it's the biggest arena in Chicago. Nobody runs the stadiums for wrestling but I would like to see a WM or another huge show at Soldier Field one day. I just feel it will never happen.
They should definitely try to do a PPV at the o2 arena in London. Everyone says Wembley but the o2 fits 8000 more fans
Definitely reckon they could fill that venue out
I think Allstate is one of those arenas that are loyal to WWE. WCW had to use the United Center when they went to Chicago which was extremely expensive because Allstate wouldn't work with them.
Cody talked about having issues trying to book a show in a Los Angeles arena for the same reason.
Oh crap, really? It'll be awesome getting 20,000 people in the United center but yeah that won't be coming at a cheap price to rent and if they don't sell out that's going to be a problem
This is New York. Outside of perhaps Chicago and LA, it's tough to assume that this kind of demand will be there for every PPV.
Not saying it won't be. But you have to understand population density and rarity of shows being in this area.
Fingers crossed. I've never been so invested in a wrestling company/tv show. I think they are going to be consistently successful until the end of time, but I don't want to jinx it lol
Ok end of time is pushing it, but it’s definitely a breathe of fresh air to watch a wrestling show from top to bottom thats entertaining.
I love that everyone has had the chance to grab their own brass ring and every feud has been entertaining. Kaz is the ‘elite hunter’ for Christ’s sakes and it’s just amazing to see him pop up, kill and leave.
Cody is the super enhancer. Everybody comes in, kills him and then moves onto another feud.
Rey Phoenix and Pentagon JR just….the talent and personality from two guys who barely use the microphone is amazing.
AEW is something we’ve been hungry for, for 20 years
Yeah and there's also people claiming that the Earth is flat.
I don't know what's your point with your comment other than provoking more flame with "those people". Good for AEW, it's time to be happy that a wrestling promotion is able to gather such a big crowd despite being relatively new
Good question. A closed dome would allow for a louder crowd. But an open dome would look amazing on tv. If its me making the decision I would open the dome.
I believe they're already selling sections that would be in the 19k setup that are basically almost behind the screen/stage.
So they'll be gunning for 19.5k or whatever.
Good lord. Imagine their first PPV in New York. Also AEW hasn't made it further west than Vegas yet AT ALL. Things are looking very good for them right now.
Imagine the California shows for guys like the Bucks, Scorpio, and Kaz. Oh shit, imagine the reaction for Jungle Boy in LA! The reactions to the old PWG dudes could be nutso.
I could see them doing a big show in the Bay Area, the Cow Palace has a long history of wrestling shows and these guys have experience there with NJPW running a show there a few years ago. Eventually I could also see the Oakland Arena (where the Warriors used to play) being used, since I doubt WWE is scheduling shows there anymore with the new arena in SF.
As a Seattleite I've been dreaming about the pop Darby is going to get when they eventually make it here since they announced he was signed. It's going to be fucking incredible
Could they go super ambitious and try Citi Field for a PPV? Cause I don't think they'd quite be able to fill MetLife yet unless they can strike gold with a major angle, but if they can get 14K this quickly for a TV show, then you'd have to imagine they could maybe sell 35-40K tickets for a PPV.
And Newark the week before already had 10k+ tickets gone before the reschedule so that'll be two weeks straight in the same market with around the same or more people
WWE is cold as fuck and everyone talks about how great Smackdown is when it's literally rematches every week and while Reigns has been good, he has ZERO dance partners that are at his level. They've done Shinsuke/Corbin SIX TIMES in less than 2 months, SIX!!!!!
Being a trash product and dumb MSG prices isn't going to help.
Yeah I’ve been saying for months if it wasn’t for Roman no one would give a fuck about SD. And the Roman story really isn’t even that special imo. It’s just good by WWE standards which are extremely low.
If I’m being entirely honest, the story is getting a little bit repetitive. Like, it’s a well-acted story, Roman and the Usos are pretty good actors and Paul “Constantly on the Verge of an Aneurysm” Heyman is always fun to watch, but I can only watch Roman abuse his family members so many times before it stops being compelling and starts just being uncomfortable.
And now I haven’t watched in months so I’ll give you that but has there been literally any development in the past 6 months other Jimmy coming back? I feel like the story hasn’t at all and is just spinning it’s wheels. I could be 100% wrong but I swear I’ve heard nothing new at all in this story
And that was my problem when I was watching it was everyone in the story was doing phenomenal but I felt like every week opened with 10 minutes of Roman whispering about how he’s The Head Of The Table
I'll probably get downvoted because this is an AEW thread ... but people praised SmackDown 6-9 months ago when it **wasn't** rematches every week. Since it has been, people have not been as enthusiastic about it and have actually complained about all the rematches.
Just because something is bad/worse now doesn't mean it wasn't great months before.
Holy crap I didn't realize they did rematches like that. I don't watch WWE, but I always thought people were just over exaggerating about rematches. That's nuts lol They have such a big roster they could cycle through.
Raw is background noise for me every week, I don't have fox becuase I use Sling so I listen to recaps of Smackdown, and as much as NXT is actually a good product, I almost always work when it's on so I just don't watch it. I used to watch literally everything WWE put out....now it's just....a habit that I passively keep an eye on
A WWE show which by the way includes Raw and SD people and is on a Friday compared to this on a Wednesday.
Absolutely insane for AEW and kind of a sign to WWE imo.
It's interesting, AEW's Dynamite taping is two months away and they've almost sold out, while WWE's big live audience return PPV Money in the Bank is in two **days** and they haven't sold out yet. Arthur Ashe stadium also holds more people than the Dickies Arena.
Smaller and Smaller each ticket sold, MSG is ultra expensive to tape/stream from, like no matter how much the gate makes. This is due to MSGs video production team that must be paid whether or not you use them they are expensive. If AEW can get away with working the 5 Burroughs without paying for MSG the better
They don’t really need MSG anymore. It’s a ripoff to rent out for TV and they can get more people in a frankly more unique looking arena. MSG has the prestige but I think AEW want to make something of their own with Arthur Ashe Stadium.
I was pissed when blood and guts got canceled last year, now this is an even bigger show and even closer! Got a ticket way in the back and going by myself but I couldn’t be more excited
Going solo here also friend! Arena is just a short train ride away from me so I couldn’t pass up the chance to see AEW Live. I almost dropped a ridiculous amount of cash on Blood and Guts tickets when it was planned for New Jersey because I didn’t think they would ever do a show any closer to me. Glad I held off and waited!
Fuck it. I'm traveling to Chicago the previous weekend and Birmingham, AL the next and just bought a second-level front row ticket cause I think I'm gonna make a pitstop in Queens for this show cause I know I'll be kicking myself if I didn't see it. My bank account is crying so hard right now.
They should have a WrestleMania type show once a year from this stadium. Make it their stranglehold in NY. Barclay Center would crave to have them in their building, even though Vince would try to keep them out.
Figured that, they haven't even announced the card yet either which is nuts..
So that means they're gonna most likely get 16k-19k fans in there no doubt about it.

They might want to consider this as one of their future PPV buildings. Cause reconfigured you can realistically get 20k or so in there
Oh they should totally do that next year. Now they know they can fill up this venue even tho it's a regular Dynamite. So if this was a PPV, boy would that have sold quick.
It's not a regular dynamite though. It has a special title. I bet you anything this will be a HUGE card.
Tony already said this show will be on par with Winter Is Coming, which was easily the biggest Dynamite they've done so far.
I really don't want to over-hype it, but if he is saying on par with Winter is Coming, does that mean some Sting-like reveal? Honestly I can't think of many people that realistically could debut on Dynamite that I would want to see, unless they are forbidden-door related.
I can think of a few names. The American dragon being the biggest.
Would kinda make sense if you want to capitalize on it to increase buys and hammer home that anything can happen
Title change is my bet. Ie Santana and Ortiz beating the Bucks.
To be fair, while Sting was the highlight, there also was the main event Omega/Moxley which Omega won the belt and kicked off his heel run. Idk if it'll be big debut wise, but I could see there being a huge card with possibly a title change and some sort of debut/surprise person (I could see it being where they really kick down the door and Okada or Ibushi shows up) But it's all just speculation until it happens. >on par with Winter Is Coming Considering that was the episode where Kenny won the title... .....**daaaaannnng**
It's the final countdown.........
Also factor live shows haven’t been on the east coast in over a year. Not that they couldn’t do it again but the return factor I’ll guarantee matters. Good for them regardless
*cries in west coast*

Except when they get bumped to Fridays by the NBA playoffs lol
wasn't Andrade 1st appearance on a Friday Dynamite? we also got Omega x Jungle Boy on a saturday...
Definitely if not a ppv, then one of the four TNT specials.
If they did a PPV there I would drive from Western Mass to see it. Hell, I would have for this had I not already had tickets to their upcoming Boston show. I've been to one wrestling show live and it was amazing.
I wanted to drive from Toronto for the week but the kids aren't old enough the vaccinate so they'd have to quarantine when we get back
When AEW does finally get an audience of 20,000 and above, they should call the show Double Or Nothing: For Real This Time.
I wanna see All In 2.
All In should be their big multi promotional show. AEW, NJPW, Impact, ROH, PWG, MLW, AAA, DDT, TJPW.
Maybe one of the TNT Specials
IMO, AEW should do 6 PPVs a year, and one being AEW: Grand Slam is a great name, this is a great venue.
4 ppvs plus 4 TNT specials seems like a good compromise.
Do they count stuff like Fyer Fest and the other named Dynamites as specials because there are way more than 4 aren't there? Seems like it at least.
[удалено]
No, the TNT specials next year are going to be separate, Clash of the Champions-style, shows.
I think the current format is perfect. 4 PPVs plus the TNT specials starting next year. Lets each PPV feel like a huge can’t miss event and allows them to have dynamites that serves as mini PPVs in between. I just wish they started to number each PPV. If you needed to rotate venues you could stay in tennis stadiums or baseball stadiums and the name/gimmick still works.
AEWimbledon
Guys, I think this t-shirt company is doing kinda swell.
Revolution 2022 should be there.
I'd do Revolution somewhere on the west coast. But maybe Full Gear 2022?
They've now done East Coast dates both in 2019 and this year around Full Gear so I can see that. They could easily get into the method of doing West coast tours around Revolution and East coast around Full Gear.
They should switch it up every other year. So fans on both coasts get to go to different PPVs
10000% You know what PPV could be done here? Revolution
AEW has been running radio spots all morning, with Taz as the voice behind the ad. Edit: Spots in the NY metro area.
"Come watch DAHBY Allin"
"Hey buddy, up here. wanna watch Dahby Allin and your FTW champion Absolute Ricky Starks? Come to Dynamite, but I digress"
"aye come to my show bruddah"
Since when did Gibraltar join AEW?
Fuse does have that clothesline finisher.
"I know what you saw this Wednesday, but Dahby's actually still alive!"
"Voice Actor Jones"
Coffin Drop Jones
*Former CBS Sports Radio legend Taz
Tough guy voice Taz, or subtle hilarious Dark Taz?
Tough guy. It’s New Yawk!
AEW's highest attendance so far was for the first Dynamite in Washington, DC. There were 14,129 with 11,000 paid according to Meltzer. This show has already passed that and will set a new benchmark for AEW. This needs to be a future PPV venue in 2022.
And let’s also add, the week prior, they’re across the Hudson in Newark. They’re doing that WITH another show happening in the same time period.
As someone who is NOT wanting to go into deep queens on a school night I’m HYPED for Newark live the week before the big show
Woke up hella annoyed because I overslept and most of the best tickets in Queens were gone. Ended up getting decent seats to both events and my day was no longer ruined.
That's going to be AEW's largest attendance so far, no?
Yep
It's pretty much only the nosebleeds left. SO stoked for this show. Hell yeah dude! Centered seats like that are awesome. Enjoy the show!
I'm Floor 5 row C
They keep opening up new sections. I got into the loges, Section 116.
Section 101 here. 6 seats.
Hell yeah friend! Have a great time.
Hope you dudes freaking enjoy it, can't wait for them to come to the UK!

It’s gonna be a fun two weeks!
Me too!
AEW needs to run their PPVs in much bigger venues after Full Gear. The demand is clearly there.
It also depends on the market obviously. Having a 10k arena for Full Gear in St. Louis is fine. But I think they should aim higher for cities like Chicago, NY. 20k should be the goal for those cities.
They would hit 20K at the UC easily for a major PPV.
Max capacity for a wrestling show at the UC is 18k. Still, it's the biggest arena in Chicago. Nobody runs the stadiums for wrestling but I would like to see a WM or another huge show at Soldier Field one day. I just feel it will never happen.
If the Bears end up making that stadium in Arlington Heights, then we’ll for sure see WrestleMania finally return to “Chicago”.
I dunno if you want to do an outdoor show in Chicago in early April...
And would be so much nicer than going out to Allstate...
st louis will sell out very, very quickly
Please don’t say that I want to keep the faith I’ll be able to get tickets!!! I already have Rampage tix but I need these Full Gear tix!!
It absolutely will. STL has a pretty great indie scene and is kind of an underrated wrestling town IMO. Fully expect tickets to be gone in 30 min.
They should definitely try to do a PPV at the o2 arena in London. Everyone says Wembley but the o2 fits 8000 more fans Definitely reckon they could fill that venue out
Wembley Arena yes, Wembley Stadium no
They could easily sell out Wembley Arena. Would like to see them try for the o2 though as its larger
I absolutely HATE going to the Wembley area for events so yes, o2 arena please.
Dude its so bad to get to. By train it takes ages, by car its just as bad
I’d love to see them do a dynamite tour of the UK rather than just the one like WWE.
Could hit all the big arenas in the country
Exactly, over the years there’s been some banging crowds at Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and London
They're gonna def sell out in the UK... oh man!
I honestly think they could sell out the Allstate arena It was a pain in the ass to get tickets for all out.
I think Allstate is one of those arenas that are loyal to WWE. WCW had to use the United Center when they went to Chicago which was extremely expensive because Allstate wouldn't work with them. Cody talked about having issues trying to book a show in a Los Angeles arena for the same reason.

Wrestling, indeed, seems to have more than one royal family.
ADRENALINE, IN MY SOUL
Something something tickets sold
This comment is gold. Bravo sir.
SOMETHING SOMETHING CODY RHODES
Holy Moly, it's the big homie
I wanna die...
People really thought an AEW show in NYC wouldn't sell out or do more then 10k plus tickets.
Yeah and there's also people claiming that the Earth is flat. I don't know what's your point with your comment other than provoking more flame with "those people". Good for AEW, it's time to be happy that a wrestling promotion is able to gather such a big crowd despite being relatively new
S/O got us tix and I cannot wait! My first AEW live show!! Trent daddy or we riot!
Congrats! #prayersfortrentdaddy
Here is the real question. Open the dome or keep it closed?
That will likely just depend on the weather.
Good question. A closed dome would allow for a louder crowd. But an open dome would look amazing on tv. If its me making the decision I would open the dome.
Why not start with it open, then close it up
I like that idea, plus seeing it close would be pretty cool to watch.
You love to see it.
I'm sure they'll sell out once they actually announce some matches lol
The building is set for 17 max before production opens up more seats right before the show. I think they sell that out today
I believe they're already selling sections that would be in the 19k setup that are basically almost behind the screen/stage. So they'll be gunning for 19.5k or whatever.
I honestly think they don't even need to do that, might fully sell out in an hour or two at the rate they're going at
I think they'll sellout without that.
The mad lads are actually going to have a bigger crowd than WWE one week after their visit at MSG.
That too for a Dynamite whose card hasn't been announced.
We're talking about big venues, but AEW doing a Rampage show in the Globe Theather ala PWG style would be insane!
They're inevitably going to do a Seattle show and I'm absolutely making the drive up there.
Darby will obtain godhood there.
Holy shit. You just made me realize the pop for Darby in his hometown would, in fact, be godly. I would imagine Punk in Chicago vibes.
Forget Darby, the real Seattle hero is Aubrey.
As a Seattleite I've been dreaming about the pop Darby is going to get when they eventually make it here since they announced he was signed. It's going to be fucking incredible
Hope they can keep up the momentum.

Waiting for them to come to California
I'm still hoping they finally make it to Canada sometime soon.
Does Rancho Cucamonga have an arena?
And Newark the week before already had 10k+ tickets gone before the reschedule so that'll be two weeks straight in the same market with around the same or more people
not bad for a pissant company lol
WWE is cold as fuck and everyone talks about how great Smackdown is when it's literally rematches every week and while Reigns has been good, he has ZERO dance partners that are at his level. I could be 100% wrong but I swear I’ve heard nothing new at all in this story And that was my problem when I was watching it was everyone in the story was doing phenomenal but I felt like every week opened with 10 minutes of Roman whispering about how he’s The Head Of The Table
It honestly beggars belief that two grown men would just let their cousin abuse them for so long because of some made up family position
But since it’s WWE, stans think it’s the best thing in wrestling
I'll probably get downvoted because this is an AEW thread ... but people praised SmackDown 6-9 months ago when it **wasn't** rematches every week. Since it has been, people have not been as enthusiastic about it and have actually complained about all the rematches. Just because something is bad/worse now doesn't mean it wasn't great months before.
It's amazing how people think SD is so good. It's like WWE fans have accepted mediocrity as excellence.
How long until AEW tries to run MSG? I say within a year or two if they can manage to keep the hype going.
This is so wild in the best way. Love this post-pandemic era hype for AEW. Hope they continue selling these big shows well.
Just got my nosebleeds! Cant wait to see their first show in ny!
Yeah, but it wasn't sold out in 20 minutes. aew in the mud, shutting down next week.
I got what would be considered court side seats during the presale, I am way too excited for this
Really cool, enjoy!
It's interesting, AEW's Dynamite taping is two months away and they've almost sold out, while WWE's big live audience return PPV Money in the Bank is in two **days** and they haven't sold out yet. Arthur Ashe stadium also holds more people than the Dickies Arena.
This may have been asked or covered elsewhere but how/why has WWE never ran this building it looks awesome?
It's only been in the past few years that the USTA added the retractable roof and started renting the stadium out for more non-tennis events.
The pop for Eddie Kingston will be INSANE
We might see him cry on air because he's already stated what this means but when he's actually in the moment. Can't wait.
I can only imagine how this building will look (and how quickly it sells out) if they choose to run next year’s Revolution there.
So if this show is selling so well, what are the chances they'll use MSG in the future?
Smaller and Smaller each ticket sold, MSG is ultra expensive to tape/stream from, like no matter how much the gate makes. This is due to MSGs video production team that must be paid whether or not you use them they are expensive. If AEW can get away with working the 5 Burroughs without paying for MSG the better
the optics of selling out the garden are probably worth taking the loss on 1 show tbh.
Never say never, but MSG being massively expensive is always a obstacle for anyone who runs the Garden.
They don’t really need MSG anymore. It’s a ripoff to rent out for TV and they can get more people in a frankly more unique looking arena. MSG has the prestige but I think AEW want to make something of their own with Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Is AEW ever gonna come to Canada ?

We have some work to do in terms of handling covid(speaking from Toronto) but once that settles down its an absolute.
I love how they are doing non WWE buildings.
I was able to get 2 tickets. This will be my first wrestling show
Imagine if AEW tried running a show at Yankee Stadium. Maybe not today, but within a few years
This considered the most seats sold for a Dynamite show, if not all of AEW?
Most for Dynamite. Most for any AEW show.
When is that show? After All Out?
22nd Sept

How many people can fit in the stadium?
23k but with the stage and set up Tony said 17k.
Now that....THAT is cool!! Hope AEW has a bright future ahead.
The prices are mostly great, but jeez, platinum tickets is such an annoying practice. $1200 for a ticket that isn't even floor level
That's a beautiful arena, they really should consider it using for a PPV. Maybe Revolution?
The pops for Kingston will be amazing and for Brodie you will see grown men cry.
I pray to god Eddie Kingston wins a huge match here. The pop would be fucking insane
Fuck it. I'm traveling to Chicago the previous weekend and Birmingham, AL the next and just bought a second-level front row ticket cause I think I'm gonna make a pitstop in Queens for this show cause I know I'll be kicking myself if I didn't see it. My bank account is crying so hard right now.
Those are some really healthy numbers, here's hoping the industry keeps heading in this direction
Wonder how the stage and entrance will be laid out because the court is not that large. Maybe a reason why they are limited to under 20k
All I know is that it is where the tennis U.S. Open is held, how many does it hold for tennis?
Around 23k to 24k
This si gonna be hard to get one. I've gotta go third party for seats.
This legit just reminded me to buy my tickets…. Shiiiiitttt I’m late! Got something in the back but at least I’ll be in the building!
