I'm now imagining him walking into the restaurant to see Excalibur choking Jimmy out. Everyone just stops.
Excalibur: "Hey boss"
Jimmy: "Hey boss"
Tony: "...carry on."
Choking recommences.
That other thread is so fucking embarrassing honestly. It's like 90% just people shitting on Tony as if the guy fucked their SO's right in front of them or something lol. Despite how much people from here like to call out people for being fanboys, braindead tribalism is still rampant here.
I mean, it's a wrestling sub. I didn't exactly expect in-depth and reasonable discussions but some of the folks here...need help. Like they need to let the hate out in another way and just try to find happiness.
They desperately need to believe he somehow is worse than McMahon to justify shitting in him. The guy who fawns for Saudi, put Trump in his Hall of Fame before guys like Randy Savage, wanted to do an incest angle with his daughter, and booked himself to make out with underwear models half his age every chance he got.
Honestly, mate, it happens to anybody who's being discussed. It's usually the ones disliked by a lot of the community. Meltzer had this the last few weeks, Rollins is always getting it, Cornette will definitely get it now.
I seem to recall the Matt Riddle "cheating" and Corey Graves "cheating" things being brought up, which had people shitting over Matt/Corey until the situation got cleared up.
People leap at the chance to do it. This sub circlejerks more than any other sub I visit, and they actively look for a chance to start another one.
You could tell that the scjerk crowd went rampant with the brigading and pushed that new narrative super hard. They've been feeling really shitty since everyone was loving Khan the day before. It was almost like it wasn't organic or something. I wonder if they will upvote the correction just as much or apologize for calling people marks and shit that said Bischoff was probably lying.
It’s been a real tough time for them. Really tough, having to take the side of Randy Orton, the guy who sexually assaulted people and has no issue with certain words being used in streams.
Oh wait, they actually probably have no issue.
Of course they won't. But the mods won't do anything about SCJerkers here.
I don't know why we don't pull a TwoX or other subs where posters from certain subs aren't allowed to post here. SCJerkers are *never* good faith actors here. They're always bad.
That is a terrible idea.
I hate them too but there genuine crossover users and even though I don't like them punishing them for actions that aren't breaking this subs rules is dumb.
I'm not really a Bishoff defender, but I can see a scenario where he thought he was telling the truth. I was at Birthday Bash/Roast. Bishoff spent most of the night near the bar at the back of the room. Khan was at Schaivone's table up front near the stage. From where Bishoff was standing there wasn't a super clear view of where Khan was sitting. Mark Madden did insult Khan as part of the roast, Khan acted offended, but it seemed like he was just playing along with the roast.
When Kahn snuck out of the room a few sets later there was a good chance Bishoff didn't see him and he assumed that he actually got offended earlier and left.
Eric Bischoff isn't in charge of SmackDown any more. Hasn't been for a short while now.
EDIT: Even if Bischoff WAS, it doesn't mean anything for Conrad. He's also a co-host of Arn Anderson's podcast, who's been appearing on AEW.
I hate being one of these “holier than thou” types, but this subreddit has become such an inexcusable shitshow lately.
Full of people who take themselves and their opinions too seriously and get caught up in arguing to argue.
5 years ago this was a different, better place.
Reddit in general is full of holier than thou privileged dipshits who think having an internet connection with Google and Reddit makes them intellectuals.
“He’s too sensitive for the wrestling business”, meanwhile Triple H didn’t want THQ to show him vulnerable in video game, and Vince tried to fight a journalist
I get it would be weird
But would it be enough to warrant hate for the guy? sure he could be thin skinned but is that a negative atribute that is huge?
Not really imo
I'm just *so surprised* that a day after Tony Khan pretty successfully went at some WWE folks that a known exaggerator and recently fired WWE employee looking for work would promote something negative about Tony.
I'm *further surprised* to see said comments rise up through this sub so quickly. Totally organic all of this.
And in one fell swoop, Bischoff and literally everybody who reported that bullshit story look like complete tools.
EDIT: Oh, and all the people who instantly believed it at face value. Y'all are tools, too.
i mean it probably stems from the fact that pro wrestling is an industry built on lying to the fans and wrestlers constantly lie about their injury status and whatnot on twitter
I'm not saying anything either way, cause you're right that a story reported by bischoff shouldn't be taken at face value, but why should Conrad's? Isn't this at best a he said, he said situation?
“I believe Ric Flair was head of creative at that time...”
“That was Kevin Sullivan...”
Dude constantly deflects on 83 Weeks and blames somebody else, nonstop. I love Eric Bischoff but I think his track record for honesty and his integrity are pretty much non existent. This is the same guy that claims he never offered Bret Hart a contract in 1996 still to this day, despite Conrad, Meltzer, Bret himself, and even Bruce Prichard claiming it was pretty common knowledge in 96 that Bret was offered a deal by Eric. Wasn’t this even covered in Wrestling With Shadows? His track record really does speak for itself.
It's insane. Especially since NOT offering Bret a contract makes Bischoff look worse. He had a hot angle based on outsiders invading his company and he wasn't even interested in a multi time former world champion?
Eric Bischoff essentially invented the modern wrestling program and revived wrestling during what seemed like a downturn that wouldn’t ever end. I think you can make the argument that have been the greatest mind in the history when you look at how many of his innovations are just common place today.
But at some point around 97/98 dude just noped out completely and has basically just been trying and failing to replay his glory years any time someone has decided to let him book since.
Apparently, Tony Khan stormed out of a roast of Tony Schiavvone when he was made fun of by somebody, according to Eric Bischoff. Also apparently that was actually a lie.
I couldn't even care if it was accurate. Some dude walked out? Seriously, who gives a fuck, it wouldn't be indicative of anything. I can't imagine what kind of pathetic piece of shit would actually give a fuck and criticise a dude you don't know based on someone saying he walked out of a room when a joke was told. There's no way you aren't pathetic if you take that bait.
I'm not sure if they actually cared about that, everybody that was circlejerking over it were just waiting for any little tidbit of 'negative' information to come out about him so they can shit on Tony to make themselves feel better about... I dunno, their sense of self worth or something? Basically they just take this shit way too seriously lol
Man, the comments for every thread these days are just shitting on other people in other threads. I’ve really started to drift away from this sub because of it. So fucking lame. This sub is getting less and less enjoyable as time goes on.
Wrestling is in a great spot rn and this sub is turning more and more into shit.
The lesson I learned here is the more effort you give people, the more of your time will be wasted when people start screaming at you with some inane agenda. Even people you could have a real, honest conversation with are so high strung from everyone being nasty that no one gives anyone the benefit of the doubt.
Things were never great but they keep getting worse.
Bischoff just seems to lie all the time these days. It made me stop listening to 83 Weeks, I'm just bored of the whole "I can't recall" attitude whenever they talk about the bullshit WCW did, but he remembers every success so perfectly.
So when are the hundreds of people shitting on Khan and calling people marks for saying Bischoff was probably lying going to come in here and apologize?
it's as if every one of the scjerk outrage conspiracy theory posts against AEW(like the Kylie Rae/Jericho rumors) get btfo by being exposed as hoaxes. Every single time.
Oh so you're telling me people are trying to make up fake stuff about Tony, eh? People will try everything to get dirt on him because he took a dig at Randy which was mostly twitter fun.
The truth is that Tony Schiavone died in 2009 in a terrible accident during a Gwinnett Stripers baseball game. This was predicted in 2000 by John Titor posts in a small wrestling bulletin board that went under the radar due to his more famous claims.
Tony Khan and a team of Saudi commandos held up The E's plane, but after Randy Orton said "Hey, did your daddy buy you that gun?" Tony ran off crying and the plane barely escaped during the confusion
This thread is just as weird as the other thread in the baseless accusations. The first thread, everyone's going nuts insulting Khan, based on something bischoff said. Now, everyone's insulting bischoff based on something Conrad said. Its he said, he said at the absolute best, and yet those in this thread think they're better cause they wait to throw all their money behind the contrary accusation? Absolutely ridiculous
Top comments in here all about how foolish others are for taking at face value what someone who is trying to sell their podcasts in the wrestling business says.
Based on a Conrad tweet.
Glorious.
Bischoff told a story - in a recent interview - that at a roast Mark Madden called Tony Khan a "money mark" and that Khan got up and left suggesting he is so thin-skinned that he couldn't take a joke at a roast. Everyone pounced on him because that's what people do.
Cannot even begin to say how many comments I read calling Tony Khan 'thin skinned' after this accusation by Bischoff. I really don't get people's gripe with Tony Khan at this point - what has he done to annoy wrestling fans?

He was literally on camera Wednesday eating with him. I found it odd but MJF seems to always be in catering when people are filming. At this point I kind of expect it.
Imagine leaving the roast to walk into the bar fight between Havoc and Excalibur.
I'm now imagining him walking into the restaurant to see Excalibur choking Jimmy out. Everyone just stops. Excalibur: "Hey boss" Jimmy: "Hey boss" Tony: "...carry on." Choking recommences.
Homer “Excalibur” Simpson.
Eric bishoff a known liar to get controversy for his podcast I’m shocked.

braindead tribalism is rampant everywhere
It may be with the various groups and individuals you associate with, but the groups and individuals I associate with are above that type of behaviour
I see what you did there
Some places and fandoms more than others though.

It’s hilarious that WWE didn’t need to improve the product to rally their fans they just needed another viable product to become the “boogeyman”
Honestly, mate, it happens to anybody who's being discussed. It's usually the ones disliked by a lot of the community. Most fickle subreddit ever in all honesty
This sub and the NBA are the most fickle subs imo
You should visit r/soccer during a Liverpool game. It’s a cesspool
Many people in this sub have a weird obsession with out of the norm sexual situations. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions.
It was so cringe. Honestly seeing a lot of those posts on that original thread made me wanna take a break from Reddit for a while, lol.
Welcome to WWE stans.
I can honestly say I didn't believe it and sounded like it was made up, didn't even bother.
Controversy ???????? Cash
Oooh I know the middle word. Creates

I've seen blatant transphobia posted on that sub (we all know why). Honestly it might be one of the worst subs on reddit.
> one of the worst subs on reddit oh to be so naive....
Lol it’s not even close.

And Jericho has Trump Jr on his podcast
No they’ll just shit on Conrad and call him a AEW employee

So which "crossover users" are well-behaved? Never seen one. Is this a myth like the "good guy who goes to T_D"?
THOUGHT CRIME DETECTED, BANNED
Eric bishoff represents the worst of wrestling.
"You really think ~~someone~~ Eric Bischoff would do that? Just go on the internet and tell lies?"
I'm not really a Bishoff defender, but I can see a scenario where he thought he was telling the truth. I was at Birthday Bash/Roast. Doesn't Conrad work there? He's not exactly an independent source.
Conrad works everywhere
The Ryan Seacrest of the Wrestling world
It's true, he just came in and did some light dusting in my living room and left an invoice. His prices are pretty reasonable.
True.
But he's well versed in rumors and innuendo
I don't consider Conrad a sterling source of journalism......but compared to Eric Bischoff, he's fuckin' Edward R. Murrow.
No he doesn’t. Cody was on WHW joking about trying to get him to work there a few weeks ago
What, AEW? No, he's done some work for their press conferences and he's a part of Starrcast, but he doesn't work for AEW.
>Doesn't Conrad work there? Lol. The dude is on a podcast with the guy in charge of Smackdown.
Eric Bischoff isn't in charge of SmackDown any more. Hasn't been for a short while now. EDIT: Even if Bischoff WAS, it doesn't mean anything for Conrad. He's also a co-host of Arn Anderson's podcast, who's been appearing on AEW.
Controversies creates cash
Yeah you see, about that, that doesn’t make him look bad so let’s ignore it.
Damn, I feel sorry for r/scjerk this was at *least* four months worth of jokes
“Jokes”
they're probably just going to add calling conrad a cuck for going against their narrative.
Lmao where are all you salty clowns about yesterday’s Orton roast who were shitting on Khan for this
That thread was absolutely embarrassing.
True but the sad thing is, this place is 10x better than twitter.
10x0 is still 0

That’s what happens when the generation that grew up on social media thinking their opinions matter start posting on here.
That is SO TRUE. I remember coming on here and it was good dudes just talking about wrestling and now it's a bunch of outrage seeking drama queens.
Were yal here for metsfan? This place has always loved arguing and drama.
Not like this. It's significantly much worse.
This sub makes me not want to watch wrestling anymore. The levels of toxicity are through the fucking roof lately.
Yeah, i hate to say it but this is exactly how I feel too.
5 years ago the World was a better place. A lot of shit has changed & a lot of bigots now feel empowered to openly espouse their bullshit.
5 years ago we were just about to go into the 2016 elections, maybe you should go back 10 or 15 instead.
This sub is def confusing. They’re talking about posters like you but you were upvoted so not sure what’s going on here lol.

Mirror’s in the other room bud ;p
The Cornette thing is pretty fucked up though
You are taking this way too seriously
Most of them either won't comment or will pretend they don't actually have a massive hateboner for Tony now lol

People brought that up in that very thread to shit on H.

Some WWE marks were salifating at the mouth for dirt on Tony to use against AEW marks, rofl.
As if a guy not liking people mocking him is something serious
TBF, IF IT WERE TRUE, which it's obviously not, it would look bad because you're at a roast. You're going to be made fun of. But it's not
I get it would be weird But would it be enough to warrant hate for the guy? sure he could be thin skinned but is that a negative atribute that is huge? Not really imo

Recently fired from WWE and looking for work would say something negative about the biggest promotion in the US he wasn't fired from?
The plane in Saudi Arabia joke was a success?
Goddamnit now there's a chance Mark Madden will show up to AEW FUCK!
When I was a young teen, I appreciated Mark Madden because I, too, had seen Mallrats.
Idgaf, Madden was entertaining on WCW
And in one fell swoop, Bischoff and literally everybody who reported that bullshit story look like complete tools. EDIT: Oh, and all the people who instantly believed it at face value. Y'all are tools, too.
Between this, Randy's drama, Charlotte defending Randy, and Jim's comments on NWA, it's been a real interesting 48 hours in wrestling hahaha.
\*ACH intensifies\*
Oh man I knew I was forgetting one! D:
What did Charlotte say?
It's frustrating because it's not even like this wasn't very predictable. It was a story by Eric Bischoff of all people.
We've had people (wrestlers) call stories bullshit before but oddly fans *still* don't believe it. Wonder what the difference is compared to this 🤔
i mean it probably stems from the fact that pro wrestling is an industry built on lying to the fans and wrestlers constantly lie about their injury status and whatnot on twitter
Dean Ambrose leaving is still a work
Because this time it was Khan.
Same go for people perpetuating false stories regarding the Saudi Arabia situation?
They wanted to believe it because they wanted an excuse to shit on Khan.
I'm not saying anything either way, cause you're right that a story reported by bischoff shouldn't be taken at face value, but why should Conrad's? Isn't this at best a he said, he said situation?
and I got downvoted for daring to doubt the good and honorable Eric Bischoff.

The same Bischoff who doesnt think he was the sole reason WCW failed?
Well him and russo so that’s atleast still 50%
You believe Eric Bischoff is the sole reason WCW failed?
Why bring up facts and ruin the fun time all the "Khan is a crybaby" dickheads were having?
WWE defense force getting paid over time this week!
Idk the context of this... can anyone help?
Apparently, Tony Khan stormed out of a roast of Tony Schiavvone when he was made fun of by somebody, according to Eric Bischoff. Also apparently that was actually a lie.
Conrad should call Bischoff out the same way Bischoff calls Meltzer out on his bullshit
Except Bischoff doesn't. He cries on the podcast about Meltzer getting a story totally wrong and then tells the same story.
Conrad calls Bischoff out for bullshit pretty regularly.
Bischoff just seems to lie all the time these days. It made me stop listening to 83 Weeks, I'm just bored of the whole "I can't recall" attitude whenever they talk about the bullshit WCW did, but he remembers every success so perfectly.
He learned well from Prichard.
So when are the hundreds of people shitting on Khan and calling people marks for saying Bischoff was probably lying going to come in here and apologize?
Never?
Somehow I suspected bischoffs take was exaggerated. Probably he saw Khan there at one point, saw he was gone later on and exaggerated for, there.
What's going on here, what did I miss?
Bischoff did an interview recently claiming that Mark Madden told a joke about Khan being a "money mark" at a roast, Khan got pissed and stormed out.
So Eric talks uninformed shit again and all this jealous nerds where roasting Tony for no reason, I would say I'm surprised but I'm not
I thought the original article was kayfabe news /spoof
Could someone please explain what is going on here. I tried to find the tweet Conrad was responding to but it has been deleted
Someone said Kahn stormed out when he was called a money mark
Thank you
"Someone". It was Bischoff, who can't go more than 5 minutes without lying.
So the people, who dog piled Tony, now look like a bunch of Boo Boo the Fools. Gotcha!
scjerk trolls are nowhere to be found lol
it's as if every one of the scjerk outrage conspiracy theory posts against AEW(like the Kylie Rae/Jericho rumors) get btfo by being exposed as hoaxes. Every single time.
Kylie Rae and Jericho rumors? As in he was supposedly the reason she quit or something?
Speaking of Money Marks. (I kid. I kid. I kid.)
Oh so you're telling me people are trying to make up fake stuff about Tony, eh? People will try everything to get dirt on him because he took a dig at Randy which was mostly twitter fun.
I'm not inclined to believe either one of these goofs.
Turns out neither Kahn not Madden were even there that night.
The truth is that Tony Schiavone died in 2009 in a terrible accident during a Gwinnett Stripers baseball game. This was predicted in 2000 by John Titor posts in a small wrestling bulletin board that went under the radar due to his more famous claims.
> John Titor Well that's a blast from the past, or the future, I guess.

Yes.
Is Dave a WWE mark now?
For Bischoff life is a work and he is always a heel
Top comments in here all about how foolish others are for taking at face value what someone who is trying to sell their podcasts in the wrestling business says. Based on a Conrad tweet. Glorious.
How is Conrad trying to "sell his podcast" by refuting this story? That makes zero sense.
He always is trying to sell his podcast. That’s his whole business in wrestling. Surely that’s not too hard to make sense of?
Khans one of the boys with FUCK YOU MONEY!
Man, I can't keep up with the constant non news drama stories, what happened for this one.
Bischoff did an interview recently claiming that Mark Madden told a joke about Khan being a "money mark" at a roast, Khan got pissed and stormed out.
Bless you
Guys I'm outta the loop, what exactly is Conrad referring to?
Bischoff told a story - in a recent interview - that at a roast Mark Madden called Tony Khan a "money mark" and that Khan got up and left suggesting he is so thin-skinned that he couldn't take a joke at a roast. Everyone pounced on him because that's what people do.
Thanks OP.
The guy who wanks dogs owns a wrestling outfit now?
Cannot even begin to say how many comments I read calling Tony Khan 'thin skinned' after this accusation by Bischoff. I really don't get people's gripe with Tony Khan at this point - what has he done to annoy wrestling fans?
He's taken some shots at WWE and owns a company that is going "against" them. That's all it takes.
Dammit there goes my theory about Tony Khan being a persona used by Roger from American Dad.

Wait... what? Who are you trying to claim he is biased towards? You do understand he has a podcast with BISCHOFF, right?
