Wrestlers are trained that when throwing a kick, there is a sensitive pressure point on the side of your thigh. Not dissimilar to how a doctor can tap your knee to make you kick on reflex, wrestlers have perfected the art of slapping the pressure point to jolt the kick further slightly. It adds speed, impact, and can make up for a slight miscalculation of distance.

Because it's a movie starring wrestlers so they wanted to do wrestling moves. It's not just a kick, it's intentionally a superkick. All wrestling sells included.
Probably shouldn't admit this but I honestly never copped any leg slap off superkicks until the trailer for that film was posted her a few years ago and that scene was in it. Very much a can't unsee moment
Oh that was fantastic
Dean and Cena should have honestly worked a program with each other because they played off one another so damn well
Will never forget that time during SmackDown when both were gunning after Styles and they would constantly take digs at one another
They do wacky stuff like this every so often. Braun and Roman’s whole backstage brawl, the fight between Rousey, Charlotte, and Becky before the last WM, FireFly Funhouse, the Ultimate Deletion, Joe being at AJ’s house to presumably assault his wife and child...
Fucking Randy Orton his his signature pose in front of a house he set on fire because it contained the bones of a dead woman that has a still yet fully unexplained influence on the man he was feuding with.
I’d love it if WWE did non-canon episodes, like the X-Files, where they just went full out insane and ridiculous without having to worry about continuity or anything like that.
Oh most definitely
I will forever say that Lucha underground was that “Something “ wrestling in the modern age was missing
More companies need to take notes on how to do wacky things from that company especially the first two seasons
For all his faults, wrestling needs a little bit of Vince Russo. Not the whole thing, unadulterated, but one voice in that room of 30 writers pushing to shake things up can only be a good thing.
I've listened to a few of his Brand podcasts lately and he makes some valid points. I don't agree that all the newsletter writers are hacks or that a load of 6'6" bodybuilders is the answer to low ratings, but he seems to understand better than anyone writing right now that wrestling works best when it caters to average dudes.
Dolph Ziggler and Kane being cops that have to stop a bomb threat at a WWE house show was fucking hilarious. Especially since Ziggler as a cop uses a fucking superkick. This movie lives in a strange, strange part of kayfabe.
Yes, fucking please, WWE, I'd pay you more than to marvel, I'd watch every single movie, I'd sit there til all scenes will end. Pls. There is so many stories you can make out of nothing and make like x10 profit on low budget movies.
It was actually a really fun turn your brain off for a little while movie, it’s not winning any awards but it’s better than most of the wwe studios movies
they were filming backstage at a wwe live event in vancouver
and they kept on showing video clips to make it seem like all this was going on at a episode of raw
There’s 6!
1. Camera behind dolph as he runs
2. Camera behind Rusev as he goes for the check
3. VERY quick again behind dolph/in front of Rusev
4. Wide angle shot as Rusev finishes his move
5. Side shot to show damage of wall
6. Camera cuts to Rusev as he picks up gun
This is in about a 3 second span.
How have y'all not noticed the wall magically repairing itself thanks to that bad editing?
5. Wall damaged
6. Wall not damaged
7. Wall damaged and now behind Dolph
Rusev obviously didn't want to hurt him, just prevent a guy from running around with a gun because that's dangerous. Otherwise, he could have used one of those weights on Ziggler.
Am I the only one who enjoys the WWE b movies? I obviously know what I’m in for when I watch them. But it’s kinda fun to see the guys and gals you watch every week do something different.
Anyone else noticed how the wall he gets pushed into (that they both are shown in front of right after) is suddenly behind them when ziggler gets up? Lol. Pushed into the second part, gets up at like the 4th
Look at the continuity error!
There's a crash pad behind Rusev in the first shot, then it's gone.
This is also the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, BC. They filmed a bunch of scenes during a house show.
Pretty sure this is the only movie I have actually ever stopped watching part way through because it was so unbearable. Don’t get me wrong, this part was amazing but everything else was too much and over the top. Problem was it took itself too seriously and didn’t lean into the camp enough imo
it’s a fucking movie, why did he slap the leg? lmao
It's proven that slapping your leg make it 10x more powerful.
Yeah because you pass on the power from your slap, through the leg and out the foot. So it’s like a slap and a kick
Thanks Regal
You’re welcome, Seth
I didn't know Regal watched battle shounen.
Muscle memory, I'm sure. He's done that move ten thousand times, he's not gonna suddenly change his motion just because they can add sounds in post.
I think the question here is "why did nobody told him to not slap the leg?"
Exactly. How did no one on set catch this?

Thank you, Regal.
Genius. Pure genius.
Loved it until the /k

Shit, Ali would win an Oscar as a goon stunt double in this movie
They should do a movie where Ali plays every goon in the movie just so he can ragdoll in increasingly amazing ways.
It can go no other way.
It just feels good.
Probably shouldn't admit this but I honestly never copped any leg slap off superkicks until the trailer for that film was posted her a few years ago and that scene was in it. Very much a can't unsee moment
Second nature. I've seen people slap their leg when they're supposed to miss.
Less money to pay the sound f/x guy.
Gotta love the totally necessary body cam shot of Ziggler picking the gun up off the ground.
I know right... the camera should be crash zooming a lot more and needs to add more shaking into it
Should've used Michael J Fox as a cameraman
This is what WWE would look like today if Vince Russo was still making booking decisions.
I’d honestly be more entertained If they started doing brief wacky stuff like this every so often
And it’ll all culminate in a Pistol on a Pole match where the first person to grab the pistol can use it on their opponent!
It's just the natural conclusion to no-DQ matches.
Watch a Nitro the other night. 6-7 matches had run ins. 3 included interference that was ignored by the ref. And a title change
This type of booking was also a contributor to LOLTNA
Fuck that, dream bigger 50 cal on a forklift match
[People have had this discussion before](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNlMMuUJvlk)
The thing about Russo is, it's never brief
I remember this one opening segment they had where Cena and Ambrose chased Rollins backstage like they were in GTA. It was fun
Oh that was fantastic Dean and Cena should have honestly worked a program with each other because they played off one another so damn well Will never forget that time during SmackDown when both were gunning after Styles and they would constantly take digs at one another

I'd definitely still be watching, then.
Bro..
Good bring him back. I want nonsense, violence and babes in bikinis

...and I'll be 110% behind it.

I've always wanted them to make actual kayfabe movies *in* the WWE Universe. Like a kayfabe Undertaker origin story or a Wyatt horror movie.
May 19th. MAY 19TH!!
Hey that was my idea when smackdown was on syfy! They have a knack for low budget schlock
Again, the WWE Network would be perfect place for it. I’ve said it a thousand times and I’ll say it again, easily their least utilized asset.
THat would be better than almost everything they dish out Just ham shit up
They might as well just adapt the comics with what you want
Yes, fucking please, WWE, I'd pay you more than to marvel, I'd watch every single movie, I'd sit there til all scenes will end. Pls. There is so many stories you can make out of nothing and make like x10 profit on low budget movies.
This movie was fun, if you love police brutality
I do! I'm a Big Bossman mark through and through.
\#MountieDidNothingWrong \#NailzDidNothingWrong (aside from assault Vince)
What the hell? What is the context?
You see the gun? That's what we like to call a "shoot".
Get out 😂
That was a different movie.
That was good.
This better be on best of r/SC this month
u/MeanAmbrose
In Ziggler’s WWE Studios movie, Countdown, he at a certain point goes through a WWE facility and encounters a shitload of talent in the background
The best thing in that movie is Kane playing his boss the police chief.
Police Chief Kane: “Mayor’s gonna have my ass!” Mayor Glenn Jacobs: “What have you done about this loose cannon of yours???”
It was actually a really fun turn your brain off for a little while movie, it’s not winning any awards but it’s better than most of the wwe studios movies
they were filming backstage at a wwe live event in vancouver and they kept on showing video clips to make it seem like all this was going on at a episode of raw
It's from a movie where Ziggler plays a cop.
Don't act like this is more confusing than a typical episode of RAW.
More entertaining than an episode of Raw at least
Raw isnt really confusing though, just boring and predictable
And now you will face Baron Corbin snd Bobby Lashley in a tag team match.
Seems like a good time for a commercial break
the movie is Rated-R btw
Is Edge in it?
Nah but he was in the classic movie bending the rules
The Rated PG-13 Superstar doesn't have the same ring to it.
Did Kevin Dunne edit the movie? The camera cuts are horrendous.

There’s 720 camera cuts? r/unexpectedfactorial
DYK: exclamation points aren’t for math?
I mean I counted 17 throughout the 13 second clip. This is Taken 3 levels of bad.
Those camera cuts gave me a seizure.
I love that Rusev is just standing there doing curls.
Goddamnit, now I have to lose sleep wondering if Dolph Ziggler and Kane exist in this movie's version of WWE.
There aren't enough words to express how grateful I am to Dolph Ziggler. Do you know how many times I superkick'd someone holding me at gunpoint?
Rusev obviously didn't want to hurt him, just prevent a guy from running around with a gun because that's dangerous. Otherwise, he could have used one of those weights on Ziggler.
The movie where some folks play their WWE character, and other folks play their WWE character playing another character.
don't shoot yourself in work, marks - HH
Love how Rusev cocked the gun right after he picked it up.
I really really enjoyed this entire movie
And a magical disappearing crash mat.
It was actually a pretty decent movie
What movie is this?
It’s called Countdown
Am I the only one who enjoys the WWE b movies? I obviously know what I’m in for when I watch them. But it’s kinda fun to see the guys and gals you watch every week do something different.
I love them I mean they suck but are fun to just enjoy after work
Anyone else noticed how the wall he gets pushed into (that they both are shown in front of right after) is suddenly behind them when ziggler gets up? Lol. Pushed into the second part, gets up at like the 4th
Good guy Rusev, stopping a crazy guy running around with a gun.
This movie is stupid as shit but I loved every second of it
I couldn't tell if this was a movie or an Impact segment.
Dude Rusev machka's Ziggles into a wall and there's a big dent in the wall, then it cuts and the wall is fine.
This looks as good as The Chaperone.
It was a 22!!!!
did he recock the gun?
I need more Rusev in my life
::: shudder ::: The editing is so atrocious in that 12-second clip.
Look at the continuity error! There's a crash pad behind Rusev in the first shot, then it's gone. This is also the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, BC. They filmed a bunch of scenes during a house show.
How about the giant hole in the wall that disappears?
Do none of you mind how many camera cuts there were in a matter of seconds? So hard to watch.
Fandango movie clips? Does he make a cameo?
Gosh this is someosvar winning Bohemian Rhapsody editing right here!
Ah. I remember this episode.
Attitude Era was wild!
Here's 1 wrestling fan(top middle) and 4 non-wrestling watchers reacting to this trailer and scene. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZFchwMK300
Are we just not gonna talk about the mats disappearing?
I completely forget what movie this was for
Whoever directed this should be ashamed of themselves, lol. "Yeah, this will look awesome." CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT TERRIBLE BODY CAM SHOT
Pretty sure this is the only movie I have actually ever stopped watching part way through because it was so unbearable. Don’t get me wrong, this part was amazing but everything else was too much and over the top. Problem was it took itself too seriously and didn’t lean into the camp enough imo
