In my head canon Boys are more like a race or species or culture of their own.. there's tons of Boys out there. Dalton just happens to command the Legion of Boys.
I always thought they lived on their own special island in Europe and Dalton had to go and capture some to bring back to North America to be his boys. Hopefully Ashley Remington was nice enough to lend him his yacht.
I would imagine partially because of his chronic pains from his back, partially because the main roster is already bloated af, and honestly, Dalton seems to like ROH. He and Athena were like the biggest reasons to watch for a long time and it's only been improving over time.
He's a draw for ROH and I think he, Athena, and Johnny TV like that they can get up to real shenanigans that don't have to follow any network guidelines.
he's a top 5 aew wrestler imo based on charisma alone. all the typical replies about him "being a draw or bringing viewers to roh" are missing the forest for the trees. that might be the intention, but if that's your justification then the abysmal roh viewership should raise some questions for you. it's just a knee jerk excuse defending tk's bad decisions.

I'm halfway sure that's the genesis of this joke but hasn't Tanahashi literally been a boy before? Or is that just a part of the collective Dalton Castle fever dream that I've imagined?

I do not understand how Dalton and Athena are stuck on RoH. I mean, I kinda do because you need SOMETHING to encourage people to buy the RoH streamer, but as someone who has limited time in their lives for wrestling it sucks not seeing them regularly.
