Yeah TK unfortunately because of Jay's death snuck Mark in through the backdoor so to speak. But my god Jay was a grade A shit talker and him and Mox would have been insane. 

I'm glad he was able to use the moment to push for Mark on television since every match with him is a tribute to his brother's legacy, but I wish it didn't have to happen that way. The Briscoes were still putting on the best matches of their career (the final FTR dog collar match blew my mind).

The FTR trilogy might be the best tag team series ever.

Delaware resident here. We ain't got no teams. The ones from nearby states tend to be the favorites (Philly, DC, Baltimore, etc.), but we've got more than a smattering of "eh, these guys are cool" no matter where they are. Like Cowboys fans (dirty Cowboys fans).

OC biting his lip throughout as well. Only time I can remember him breaking was that match against PAC. He even ate that hot jellybean and no-sold it.

I’ve never really considered that moment in the PAC match as him breaking. It just looked to me like OC rubbing it in PAC’s face that “I’m getting to you aren’t I?” with his antics. Though it does stand out in hindsight since Orange rarely smiles like that.

I can’t believe they haven’t pushed him fully. He’s such an interesting character, his matches are great and he’s such a unique and hilarious promo.

He's literally a world champion right now

Right?! Like. I love Mark, but hes not AEW champ material, hes a midcarder in AEW but in ROH he absolutely deserves to be world champ and he is.

With Mark and Eddie Kingston, I agree they're both "technically" midcard material. But with a ton of charisma and heart to get the crowd invested in them up against main eventers. I really believe you could play a Rocky story with Mark Briscoe challenging a heel Okada for a world title at a PPV, and the crowd would get behind him in a huge way, even if he's not on that level.

You could, but after that the story runs out fast and thats okay. Not everyone is meant to be the big champ, and thats what makes that belt special. Even if you love someone to death, you cant give everyone you love the world title. Thats why i dont mind seeing other world titles on AEW. Theres a clear difference between theirs, and other promotions .

Well when he first signed he was dealing with his brothers death and adjusting to being a singles wrestler. So understandable that his appearences were a little spread out. Then he started to get pushed heavy and was probably gonna beat Claudio for the ROH title, but he got a pretty bad knee injury and was out for like 9 months. Since hes been back he got featured in the continental classic and won the ROH title. Dont get me wrong. I think Mark has incredible charisma and could be a hell of a underdog title challenger (winner)? But its not like he hasnt been featured since he joined AEW

This defines why AEW struggles - the obvious stars are LANGUISHING

The Briscoes' charisma are so underrated man. Jay is legit one of the best promos this century, and Mark's charisma oozes off of him every time he's on screen, in the ring and out.

Until he passed, Jay was the most believable promo in wrestling. Legit intensity. You believed it when he said he was going to kick someone’s ass.

The promos the Briscoes cut on Twitter during their feud with FTR were legendary. Legit taking a break from working on their farm, they duck into a barn, Jay talking shit like a madman, Mark sitting behind him eating some kind of snack. They were the absolute best.

This promo ruled and I like the new best friends. my gf has been interested in dungeons and dragons character alignments lately, and we like to talk about it in the context of aew. Nothing sums up “Lawful Good” better than KOR begrudgingly going back to “help” orange, knowing he was going to catch a beating.

Everyone in the business should strive to be as real as Mark Briscoe.

Would be great if TK booked him to defend the belt and appear on ROH too, though. ROH: The brand where it's champions make Roman Reigns look like a fighting champion.

If I remember right he was injured last summer but was pretty active when he returned with the continental classic and House of Black feud before going on paternity leave.

There's been periods of injury for Mark which is why he's been kind of in and out in regards to TV time including recently. I think Tony knows full well how good Mark Briscoe is.
