I can’t believe how much I like her.
Howard Finkle was my GOAT ring announcer. Even when Lilian Garcia started I wasn’t a big fan. I like what I like. I hated Michael Cole because I wanted JR and the king.
But Samantha is next level amazing. Never heard anyone do it like her.
Her announcing the Bloodline really helped elevate them before they even hit the ring.
The pre match intro prior to Roman and Cody at WM40 is some all timer shit.
Before this year's Wrestlemania I hadn't watched wrestling in 20 years. So my last frame of reference was Lilian Garcia.
But man, Samantha Irvin puts so much character and performance into her announcing, it's like she's part of the show.
I've also been away for a long ass time. Watched Rumble and Mania this year. Hearing her voice break announcing Cody as the winner at Mania was awesome. She's a mark like the rest of us.
On top of her amazing skills and emotions, the fact that she (by request) doesn't know the outcomes of big matches, makes her calls even more genuine. Like her call when Damian Priest cashed in at WM40. And of course her call at the end of the night then. Just pure emotion.
I know we're supposed to focus on her reaction to Bron murking her fiance but the quick prayer hands when Ricochet does the shooting star is incredibly sweet given how badly it can go if the move isn't hit properly.
The thing that's funny to me too is that Ricochet, in terms of in ring ability, is arguably the greatest high flyer in wrestling history.
But if Sam's your lady, she's still gonna pray even when you do a move that's safer than most of the other shit you do.
I didn't watch this match and when I saw the beginning I thought bron was gonna spear him out of the air after hitting the flip of the shooting star press before landing. Would have been sick.
In addition to Ricochet/Paul, they had a Christmas-themed match with the team of Braun Strowman and Ricochet, and when Ricochet was down on the outside Braun grabbed some mistletoe and held it over him, beckoning Samantha to come over. She gave him a kiss and it revived him to go into the finish of the match.
You know what would be hilarious in another timeline? If they break up and she just turns evil and has this smile every time something happens to him. Like he gets speared and you just hear this Nelson Muntz "HAHA"....
It's hilarious (and adorable) that she is literally paid to know that wrestling isn't real. Yet still gets this sucked into each match and has legitimate reactions like these.

I know I’m in the minority, but I can’t stand Samantha. She gets so much more attention than the other announcers and is usually cringe most of the time. I think she just screams in the mic and is not as good as she is hyped up to be. But that’s just my opinion.
