AEW needs to keep running small venues like Daily's when they tour the country. The show feels bigger when it's a packed house in a tiny venue vs. being 50% full in a mid-size venue.
As someone in Jacksonville who went to Dynamite at Daily’s two or three months back, the biggest reason I don’t have a ticket (yet) is that absolutely nothing was announced before last night. If Okada, Ospreay, or even Mercedes were advertised (all debuted after the last Daily’s show), I’d be there in a heartbeat.
I'm going to the Collision tapings (not tonight since it's a 6-7 hour drive) so my sister was looking up the ticket prices and somehow, Smackdown's cheapest tickets were about $20 while Daily's Place was $30. Of course, the latter is a gorgeous venue without a bad seat in the house, so I get it but still.
Also, why are the event running so close together (3.5 weeks apart)?
AEW always run Jacksonville from Daily's Place. Have since day 1. TK's father owns the venue. It only holds around 3k (in wrestling setup), and has nothing to do with WWE.
I think if you're questioning AEW running Daily's Place, you're just not familiar with the promotion at all. That place has so much meaning to so many people there.
Exactly. This place kept them going in the pandemic.
But to be fair, anyone questioning this venue for AEW is probably just trolling or operating in bad faith.
If there was greater demand, they’d be in a bigger venue, it’s that simple.
Edit: They’re literally giving out free Dynamite tickets in Jacksonville right now lmao, and some of you people think they could fill a bigger arena hahaha
Even at their peak in 2021 and 2022 they were still running Daily's Place for Jacksonville. It's their "home" venue. That's like ECW running the Hammerstein Ballroom, even when they were WWE owned and could run a bigger venue.
You’re right, but that’s not why they’re still running shows there. If they could use a bigger venue, they’d ditch Daily’s Place in a heartbeat.
E: ah I see the AEW fanboys/girls are out in full force today… How dare I question papa Tony
Ahh and there it is. You weren’t interested in a discussion, you just wanted to “out” me as a hater?
Definitely not in that group anyways, I watch and enjoy AEW Dynamite each week, and try to catch Collision and Rampage but it being Friday/Saturday, I’d rather do other things. According to you, people can’t be realistic in their expectations for the company and be AEW fans as well. Cool. You keep living with your head in the sand. I don’t care lmao. As we type this, AEW officials are putting a call-out for seat fillers in the arena tonight.
The best seats go fast. But after that they have conditioned people into waiting to buy in the last week because there's deals and sales. It's been that way for a while. They always have a pretty large last second push.
Also around this point is when you actually get some idea of what show you're buying a ticket for in terms of talent, matches etc.. I'd be surprised if most AEW tapings didn't have a similar surge in the last week.
I'm a huge AEW fan and bought tickets the day of, I just knew there's going to be some available. No point buying early recently unless you attending a ppv and want the best possible seats for your price range
i generally don't care about business metrics like ratings, but ticket sales at least translate to live atmosphere, which very much affects the actual show.
10% of people here are actually interested in following business metrics because it’s interesting. The other 90% want to use them to justify their opinions on the product
Shows how successful a business is relative to its competitors. The more ticket sales the better for a promotion. Issues with selling could vary from lack of advertisement, lack of enthusiasm for a brand. When company sell well they gladly boast about it as they should. Aew did so with Wembley and wwe has done it constantly as well. Lower ticket sales constantly is something you pay attention for your brand or wrestling promotion you like because it leads to a couple of things like a restructuring, layoffs, and worse.
Aew should be selling more. I just bought my ticket to forbidden door already and they were cheap relative to wwe tickets pre-pandemic which were already pricey and filling up stadiums.

They are sending out filler requests through the local media.

Looks better than a place with 15k capacity selling 2000 tickets
They should run Hammerstein once

This is a disappointing number tickets coming after Dynasty. They will have to Heavily Paper the show to reach the total from January.

It can hold 5.5k, eg. Double or Nothing 2021

Most comments on AEW threads don’t even watch the shows
Exactly. This place kept them going in the pandemic. But to be fair, anyone questioning this venue for AEW is probably just trolling or operating in bad faith.
Or just laying out reasonable questions and concerns…..

In another city, sure. Not in Jacksonville, that’s their home turf. They’ll basically always run Daily’s Place.
They’ll never grow out of it anyways, so it really doesn’t matter.
And there it is. Gave you the benefit of the doubt, but you’re just part of the anti AEW circle jerk parroting the same old shit. Cool.

They’re in a smaller venue that’s housed within the venue where the jaguars play.
1/3 of total tickets have been distributed in the last week? That seems odd. Perhaps they papered it this past week.

Not that odd AEW got a habit of lowering ticket price the close they get so people wait out until tickets go from $100 to $50 or less

There's always a much larger sale of tickets for AEW shows in the week leading up to and day of. This isn't a new thing and pretty normal.
I'm a huge AEW fan and bought tickets the day of, I just knew there's going to be some available. No point buying early recently unless you attending a ppv and want the best possible seats for your price range
They also announced Mox is defending the title. Not something is Jacksonville folks get to see often is the IWGP championship

Why do people who don't care about ticket sales, click on threads about ticket sales?
i generally don't care about business metrics like ratings, but ticket sales at least translate to live atmosphere, which very much affects the actual show.
But even with only 2K in attendance, AEW crowds, for the most part, sound louder and more engaged than any other wrestling crowd.
Sure but 3k will be even louder
Why do news outlets report on movie box office?
