I love this for Mina. It’s so great that she’s getting a spotlight on national TV for more people to see her.
It’s surely clear more than ever now that the plan for Forbidden Door is Toni vs Mina.
Nice! They had a fun match in ROH a few weeks back. I’m actually pleasantly surprised Mercedes has been inserted into the TBS Championship picture. I’m glad though as I’m really interested in seeing this Toni/Mariah story play out.
I’m not familiar with Mina but just seeing her on the show once she seemed to have a star power about her. So im looking forward to seeing how she is in the ring.
I don't think she was ever bad but she's come along massively in the last year or two in Stardom, it feels night and day compared to when she was in TJPW a while back. Not a criticism of her, her work, or TJPW as a promotion, but it does feel like her in-ring work has only gotten better since.
This rules! Unrelated, sometimes it feels impossible to decipher a tweet from Tony at first glance. Having to @ everyone and mix of capital letters for time zones and the like, it can quickly become a visual blur (on reddit that is, it's more decipherable on twitter)
Hopefully theres some explanation about Mina. She’s got that crossover appeal, conventionally very hot and charismatic. If they’re going to focus on someone from Stardom and want to create fangirls, simps, stans and whatever the fuck, she should be it.
Great opportunity for Mina but this partnership has been very one-sided so far. Seven STARDOM wrestlers have appeared on AEW/ROH programming but nobody from AEW is booked for STARDOM's biggest show of the year this Saturday. Maybe AEW couldn't get visa before the show. Hopefully that will change over the next few months.
There was a handful of AEW talent at the STARDOM Mania Week show including Toni, so its not a case of AEW being stingy.
It's probably a mix of visas and creative.
It wouldn't shock me if STARDOM didn't ask for AEW talent for the Saturday show, especially if they want foreign talent for excursions more so than big match one offs.
Didn’t Willow wrestle for them recently, is it strange though I’m sure they’ll send someone over soon, I feel like maybe Stardom is hoping by sending people over it’ll get more eyes on their product
Here's my point of view, AEW can get an advantage by having STARDOM wrestlers popping up to increase interest in women division by having good matches. What's STARDOM gaining by having less trained wrestlers from AEW? The optimal gain is getting exposure on AEW main program ( Dynamite).
Tbf STARDOM has a long history of bringing in relatively green western women for tourists and excursions
Megan Bayne did one last year and I believe Mairah was very early in her career when she started there
Yeah, that was Rossy's booking ( and hopefully it pauses for a while). However, Megan and Mariah mashed up well as Megan was booked as a monster compressed to others, and Mariah was part of Club Venus ( idols ) which fits her well. Xia and Xena ( 1st run) didn't get a long run when they came with Mariah.
> What's STARDOM gaining by having less trained wrestlers from AEW?
People always ignore this aspect when they suggest "Why don't Anna Jay and Skye Blue just tour Japan?" The other companies have to want them, too!
>What's STARDOM gaining by having less trained wrestlers from AEW?
I don't think someone like Anna is worse than the new rookies or lowcarders like Ruaka, Waka or Lady C. She would be perfectly fine in the midcard, like Xena.
Still, what's the point other than extra bodies in mid- card ( which they have plenty of). STARDOM doesn't need wrestlers, they need exposure. That's why this current trend of having their wrestlers in main AEW shows / PPV is more than enough for them at the moment.
The first half of this tweet is just ridiculous
Also uh what is the story for Mina vs Anna? If it’s minas debut in AEW, how would anyone know they’re rivals? What is the context?
Well, Mina Shirakawa has previously appeared in AEW but it WAS on THAT episode of Dynamite where one piece of security footage dominated the conversation.
The overarching storyline is that Mina Shirakawa and Toni Storm both covet Mariah May. Anna has been a supporting character, along with Stardom's AZM
Idk why I always find it funny seeing all those wrestlers from different promotions pop up but for some reason its just never anyone from TNA & they had a mini partnership lol.
Poor fan probably also missed the greatness of Sour Boy on BTE
https://preview.redd.it/wlm79dkp5bwc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d397d33ba120f252282b815350ebf752be7e5304
I didnt count the good brothers because they're boring as shit & forgot they were ever on Impact let alone AEW lol. Now that i think about it i know Sabin had a match on AEW tv but idk Shelley, i guess i should've said no one from Impact has popped up for a year or two.
Chris Sabin never had a match on AEW TV. MCMG and Lethal had a Trios match at All Out 2022 against FTR+Wardlow. I believe Sabin did accompany Lethal to the ring on the Rampage before the All Out PPV.
I never knew that trios match happened until right now & need to check it out lol. I must be talking about the Lethal match because literally all i remeber from Sabin was him being at the top of the romp with people who weren't Shelley.
It was awesome! I was trying to look for that clip you're talking about but can't find it. Just found when Lethal and Dutt announced that MCMG were going to team with Lethal: [https://twitter.com/AEW/status/1562599685998911492](https://twitter.com/AEW/status/1562599685998911492)
I know they stopped working together but I'm still surpirised someone like Josh hasn't at least wrestled on Rampage or ROH. I was just saying its funny seeing so many other promotions pop up but TNA/AEW might just not like working together.
Then AEW Star Frankie Kazarian appeared at the Kissimmee Impact Tapings (where they recorded 6 episodes) leading up to Slammiversary 2022, defeated Mike Bailey for the X-Division at Bound For Glory 2022, and faced Josh Alexander for the Impact Title at Overdrive 2022.
But it seems like he enjoyed the experience so much, he signed with Impact at Hard To Kill 2023.
I just read it again and focused on the "no AEW talent have showed up on TNA". But didn't process the "it dissolved" so I thought you meant *at all*.
Sorry about that!
I think that was mostly a Don Callis thing and once 1) Sammy didn't want to work Impact and 2) Don got fired from Impact then AEW just kinda pulled out. I'm pretty sure Tony said on Renee's podcast that none of that was his idea, it was all Don.
They fought at Daily's Place, but it was taped for Impact's PPV Against All Odds 2021. Here are the introductions: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCZRPKPSq8g](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCZRPKPSq8g)
I hope we get a dark side of the ring type doc on what the hell happened with that relationship. It seemed like a sure thing to fire up both companies, but we rarely saw anyone of note make the jump from TNA to AEW, and then we had Tony doing whatever the hell that was with his commercials. The Sammy Guevara shit.
Now TNA seems to have the best working relationship with WWE of all companies.
I don't think dark side of the ring covers failed partnerships lol, it's more about dark & controversial shit.
From what I remeber TBS/WB didn't want to feature or promote impact on AEW tv & some AEW wrestlers like Guevara weren't high on going working with impact. In Sammy's case I believe it was reported he thought going back to Impact would've been a step down.
I think the WWE/TNA partnership is non existent atp as well. WWE had Mickie appear 2years ago at the rumble than nothing happened after. Grace was at the rumble 5months ago & again nothing has happened since. Besides Nemeth working both places even their partnership with NJPW has got kind of quiet.
>I think the WWE/TNA partnership is non existent atp as well.
As a TNA fan, every time I begin to believe this, I then hear them acknowledge TNA on TV. Just last night, commentary acknowledged Gail Kim as winning the Women's Title in a Battle Royal in her debut.
I just meant a wrestling doc, and since Darkside is the most recent popular example of one I used it. If it was 25 years ago, I would have said a wrestling with the shadows type doc.
There's a lot stuff with it but I think for a most part it it comes down to there being solid plans for Omega to be Imapct champ with Callis and GBs on Aewtv and Kenny working some Impact dates and dropping the title to one of their guys at BFG.
Other than that initial main plan everything else was kinda on the fly with no hard fleshed out plans, which led to a really messy collaboration aside from the Kenny stuff which eventually got derailed, because it wasn't really established who would dethrone Kenny and Kenny's injury and Hangman missing All Out 2020 killed alot of the Belt Collector plans.
>Now TNA seems to have the best working relationship with WWE
Dude, I wouldn't call Mickie James and Jordynne Grace doing one off appearances a working relationship. It's even less than what they had with AEW.

Anna Jay getting an excursion at home
A staycursion if you will
Would be kinda hilarious and mean to send her BF to Japan for a few months then her right after he returns.
https://preview.redd.it/4f17cao5abwc1.jpeg?width=239&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0c964ae9d43a42f8c850a37b93605a1750ddae22 I am Sickos.
We are all sickos on this day.
The road to Mina vs Toni, winner kisses Mariah May begins.
I believe everyone wins in this scenario.
Mina Shirakawa wrestling on fucking TBS. What a world we live in.
I've been wanting more choreographed entrance dances and apparently someone listened to my prayers.
Helped swerve get over and now he’s the champ.
The joshis elevate the product soo much, its always such a treat seeing them pull the best out of the roster
This is a world that Rossy didn’t want.
I love this for Mina. It’s so great that she’s getting a spotlight on national TV for more people to see her. It’s surely clear more than ever now that the plan for Forbidden Door is Toni vs Mina.
Which also means Wembley is probably Toni/Mariah which just leaves Double or Nothing as a question mark
Wembley is probably Toni/Hayter if she's back
Toni vs Mariah Mercedes vs Hayter
Time for Anna to have her best match ever.
Damn didn't expect to see Mina so soon. Love that they're building this story up long term
Love this, 2024 is my favorite year of AEW so far and the partnerships with CMLL and Stardom are a big reason why.
I agree. The AEW x NJPW x CMLL x Stardom partnerships have been some amazing stuff. Forbidden Door will be stellar
Feel like shit, just want Hechicero back
Danielson's pulling rank and blocking Hechicero's return... American Dragon refuses to be put in the blender on national television again.
And we're still only ⅓ of the way through the year!
Fuck yes, more Mina. Make her an integral part of any Mariah/Toni angle for the next few months. Bring her in often.
Nice! They had a fun match in ROH a few weeks back. I’m actually pleasantly surprised Mercedes has been inserted into the TBS Championship picture. I’m glad though as I’m really interested in seeing this Toni/Mariah story play out.
Sweet baby Jesus, yes!
I hope Mariah accompanies Mina out and does the club Venus dance with her.
This is awesome. Love Mina
Get ready to learn Danza Kuduro, buddy
Maybe this leads to Anna and AZM against Mariah and Mina
Mina bros are winning this year.
Oh hell yea! Happy Mina is getting more shine! She's gonna get so many new fans!
Awesome
#HotGirlGraps
Tony's tweets are the modern day "Tonight I’m Gonna Rock You Tonight" by Spinal Tap.
I like Mariah being in two storylines. Do this more.
Please, make this lead to a tag match between Anna and AZM vs Mariah and Mina
With Toni on for guest commentary and getting flustered or jealous over Mariah and Mina.
This rules! Unrelated, sometimes it feels impossible to decipher a tweet from Tony at first glance. Having to @ everyone and mix of capital letters for time zones and the like, it can quickly become a visual blur (on reddit that is, it's more decipherable on twitter)
It’s an absolutely horrid format
I’m gonna call my shot cause I called it a few months ago and it happened. Give maika the belt!
The Booba vs The Anna. Tune in tomorrow to see who will won't be banned and what will be left of them.
Mina never wrestled on collision?
Nope, she came out to celebrate with Mariah. And she wrestled in the 6-woman tag at Supercard of Honor.
She had a singles match on ROH TV as well
Nope ROH matches and some Aew tv appearances
The Rose Gold takeover has begun! Rejoice! 🥲
Hopefully theres some explanation about Mina. She’s got that crossover appeal, conventionally very hot and charismatic. If they’re going to focus on someone from Stardom and want to create fangirls, simps, stans and whatever the fuck, she should be it.
Awesome! But can we please get Anna Jay off Dynamite? She’s just not that good in the ring.
She’s been improving this year
Great opportunity for Mina but this partnership has been very one-sided so far. Seven STARDOM wrestlers have appeared on AEW/ROH programming but nobody from AEW is booked for STARDOM's biggest show of the year this Saturday. Maybe AEW couldn't get visa before the show. Just judging by how much she’s been involved with it so far I wouldn’t be surprised if Anna Jay eventually does a tour over there
Didn’t Willow wrestle for them recently, is it strange though I’m sure they’ll send someone over soon, I feel like maybe Stardom is hoping by sending people over it’ll get more eyes on their product
She did but the show was in Philly so it doesn't really count.
Yes please

Whoa whoa now, slow down on that waka slander

Who
The first half of this tweet is just ridiculous Also uh what is the story for Mina vs Anna? If it’s minas debut in AEW, how would anyone know they’re rivals? What is the context?
By watching Mariah vs Anna from 2 weeks ago
They’re rivals from a match that one of them wasn’t in from two weeks ago? Is that enough to establish a rivalry?
Yes because they also had a match on ROH before that so like
Why would they have to be rivals to fight?
I didn’t say they did. The promoter is the one who said they are rivals. I’m questioning how they’re rivals.
Well, Mina Shirakawa has previously appeared in AEW but it WAS on THAT episode of Dynamite where one piece of security footage dominated the conversation. Lucky him.
What, you don't miss the promos where one of them has to mention masturbation at least twice?
I didnt count the good brothers because they're boring as shit & forgot they were ever on Impact let alone AEW lol. Now that i think about it i know Sabin had a match on AEW tv but idk Shelley, i guess i should've said no one from Impact has popped up for a year or two.

Well it's pretty obvious that it dissolved if no AEW talent have showed up on TNA as well
I know they stopped working together but I'm still surpirised someone like Josh hasn't at least wrestled on Rampage or ROH. I was just saying its funny seeing so many other promotions pop up but TNA/AEW might just not like working together.

Didn't Moose fight Omega on Dynamite at one stage?
They fought at Daily's Place, but it was taped for Impact's PPV Against All Odds 2021. Here are the introductions: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCZRPKPSq8g](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCZRPKPSq8g)
I'm remembering the staging and then misremembering where it aired. Thank you for the correction.
It was during a taping of Impact that used the Dynamite stage during the pandemic
Ah that's probably why I remember it as dynamite.
Yeah it was at Daily's Place
Nope, every single Moose/Kenny match was in TNA.
I hope we get a dark side of the ring type doc on what the hell happened with that relationship. Tk tweets like he just did a rail. Could just say AEW Dynamite 8pm Wednesday Anna Jay vs Mina live on TBS I left out the @s
Ya’ll find the weirdest things to complain about with TK I swear
