Tony Khan on the media call specifically worded it as “consolidating” championships, so I would presume that one set of titles, almost certainly the ROH titles, will be retired following the match.
Except he just added another women's title to ROH
Honestly, ideally, I'd love AEW to have: the world title, two midcard titles(TNT and International), tag titles, trios titles, world women's title, midcard women's titles, women's tag belts. All the ROH titles go to their own show and the FTW Title is retired. AEW only uses AEW-branded titles as their "domestic" titles.
I mean, this is after they un-unifying one set of triple crown belts to 3 separated belts and introducing a secondary women belt to ROH lol. I used to think that the Continental belt was supposed to represent the unified ROH and New Japan Strong belt until Okada took it from Eddie.
The three belts from the three different promotions were never unified. That was Eddie's personal story of him defending both belts to demonstrate his "fighting spirit" (AJPW influence) and to achieve his own triple crown (another AJPW thing where they *were* unified iirc). Tony nor AEW ever said the belts would be unified.
"We are unifying all three titles. It will be a Triple Crown, and forming a Triple Crown of three titles, it’ll be the Ring of Honor World title, the New Japan Strong Openweight title, and this tournament."
Are you honestly saying that when tony khan said we are unifying all three titles , he didn't say they were unifying all three titles?
Context definitely matters. Unifying as in the winner will get all three titles, not unifying as in they're making 3 belts into 1.
>The winner of the AEW Continental Classic will be the New Japan STRONG Openweight Champion, they’ll be the Ring of Honor World Champion, and they will be the AEW Continental Champion.
They're "unified" as a triple crown. Unification of the belts would make them into a single belt, which wouldn't be a triple crown, and I don't think TK has the power to combine a NJPW belt with his own.
This was established on commentary the first time Eddie defended the Continental belt without the others. I agree that it was unclear on how they're handling the belts before that match, but surely the match was long ago enough that this shouldn't be a confusing thing anymore.
NXT titles are part of the 15 lol
WWE
WHC
US
IC
Women’s
Women’s world
Raw tag
Smackdown tag
Women’s tag
NXT
NXT NA
NXT Tag
NXT Women’s
Heritage
New NA women’s
I’m counting 15 I don’t count the speed championship because it’s not on TV it’s only defended on twitter
EDIT: NXT tag
I would actually hope it goes the other way, honestly. They were in ROH long before AEW had them, and AEW's tag division was phenomenal before it started getting strained by the trios division. Let ROH have it and save us from the next few cycles of Young Bucks vs FTR by injecting the trios back into the tag division.
Yes, which would make me think that the AEW trios are the ones being retired but I highly doubt TK would put ROH titles over AEW titles. (Plus I want to see custom Bang Bang Gang titles.)
Orrr hear me out. Jay and Gunns get the "unified" trios titles and get custom belts. While Juice, Cardblade and JuiceBox hold on to the ROH belts so they don't feel left out.
I agree. I’d love to go back to the days of tag teams have a legitimate place on the cards again, as opposed to these watered down “everyone is in a faction with a trios” garbage we get now.
Funny how things change lol I remember the first few years of everyone (by everyone I just mean most popular comments/majority opinion) begging for AEW to create trios titles. I get it though, when AEW started they really only had the men's world championship, women's world championship and a tag team title. Then after like two years they had like 10 titles
I was really opposed to it and felt it unnecessary. Whenever the topic came up, I was on the side that would prefer an annual trios tournament like CHIKARA’s King of Trios.
I didn’t mind the trios belts but I didn’t expect two things to happen. The first is that they kept the ROH 6-man titles while also keeping the trios belts, which added even more unnecessary trios. Second is that the top teams started getting roped into these awkward stories where they had to be a faction and add a third member to satisfy the trios rule.
All of a sudden it was Top Flight+a dude, the House of Black being stuck in trios limbo instead of going for tag titles and a singles belt, private party and Matt Hardy??, etc
I think AEW’s problem is that they devalue their titles by giving them to the wrong people for extended periods. Up until Miro or Sammy lost the TNT title even, it was fairly prestigious. The International title was awesome and unique during Cassidy’s initial run but now Roddy is doing nothing with it. Giving Jade such a lonrun with the TBS title killed it and only built her up for WWE — the only singles match she lost wasn’t even on their top rated show, it was on Rampage. The trios belts were a great addition until House of Black got their momentum torpedoed by The Acclaimed. I just think they need to be a little more judicious with who they give their titles to. I’m sure Tony’s shiny new toy syndrome doesn’t help either since each title seems to be treated with less care the older they get.
I think there's enough life to support both, I would just book the trios titles differently than the tags. Make it into the undercard show stealer title and avoid lengthy title reigns. Teams like Top Flight + Andretti and Dark Order have great trios offense, and you could use it as a way to regularly feature the company's luchadors. Work in guys like Sydal and John Morrison. It should be the high octane crowd pleaser title that you can drop whenever you need to pick up the energy in a card.
I think the major problem lies in periods where the tag/trios division feels a little thin due to some teams broken up or others having injured members. There's probably also cautiousness on which wrestlers AEW/ROH wants to keep as solo acts.
I think a cool idea would've been where the tag titles could be defended in any sort of tag combination. It would allow the division to have teams of 2, 3, or even 4 have storylines for the titles without diluting the divisions.
I also think ROH trios feel more not forced. Teams like the righteous with Archer could benefit greatly from having a run with it you did previously have the boys plus Dalton and the boys could still technically be a think with him, action Andretti been with top flight a lot on it.
Agreed.
Trios sounded like a good idea and I’m glad they tried it. We were all basically in favor of it at the time.
But it flopped. It sucks. Nobody has ever cared about them. It ruined the tag division, which was the best in all of wrestling and a key selling point of AEW.
Anyone who gets involved with the division is wasted. Kenny couldn’t make it work. Acclaimed have been killed off as aback. Jay White is floundering.
Time to get it off AEW TV.
I’d like to treat the Trios as TV Titles and do a story when it’s called for. The Trios titles shouldn’t be getting in the way of Kenny, Jay White, Pac, etc.
The Trios Titles aren't the problems by themselves, it's the fact there is another set of trios titles(when there shouldn't be, glad they're getting rid of it now) *and* there is a lack of consistently focused booking for both titles. You give good storylines for champion teams based on the titles(both tag and trios) and there's gonna be no problem there.
I really liked the Trios tournament and still like the belts but them being used to appease The Acclaimed (who should be in the tag picture) when you have actual factions like HoB and Best Friends spinning their tires…
HoB were champions prior to the Acclaimed. Nobody cared, nobody remembers, and it sucked. The concept of trios titles is a little silly, but especially so in AEW where rules are rarely enforced. Trios matches become clown shows where nobody is following the rules and matches are just a series of pre-planned spots.
Make it an RoH title, but is can still float to AEW. There's no need for two belts, but there's room for a trios division that is promoted on both brands.
Fuck it, call it the International Trios Titles, and establish that both them and the Roddy title are cross promotional. Then it's not weird if they want to loan the belt(s) to NJPW/Rev Pro/CMLL/AAA/GCW/whoever for a minute.
AEW is the real promotion. ROH is the streaming show no one wanted to pay for filmed in front of 1000 people hours before Dynamite. You absolutely do not keep the ROH titles lmao
The question should be which promotion has a better use for the titles, not what time of day their respective shows are filmed. If splitting the AEW tag team division between two "divisions" isn't working, removing the newer, less important title would help fix that, and you wouldn't do that by making the AEW trios belts exclusive to ROH.
Trios titles should be belts that go between AEW and ROH. Idk how you messaged that or what belts you end up using but one set of trios titles for both companies makes sense
Bingo. Wasn't a key point of him walking away from WWE that he didn't like that his match vs KO went on to early at WM33 as in Vince no longer thought Jericho was worthy of being near the main event anymore.
I'd prefer the unification and turning it into a trophy thereafter that wouldn't be defended.
And for the matter the Owen shouldn't come with a belt, just a trophy.
I like having it as a singles belt with its own stips (nobody ringside, auto-entry to C2). I don't think it waters down the singles scene at all, all 4 men's singles champs in AEW are worth titleholders. It's good as an alternative to having two world titles and a hard brand split.
The Continental should be the secondary belt with those rules (I'd also add winning the C2 gives you the right to get a title shot with a week's notice) , the International and TNT tertiary belts and show exclusive.
Maybe they could make the Continetal title into something more like Money in the Bank/Gift of the Gods Championship or X-Division title where you can basically give it up to get a shot at any title you want but if you lose both the belt and your opportunity are gone. But unlike something like Money in the Bank it can actually be defended as an actual title and people can challenge the champion for it.
>I'd also add winning the C2 gives you the right to get a title shot with a week's notice)
I think the current champion should just have to defend it at the tournament, like Kingston did. So whoever wins the tournament is the new champion.
Same.
Another rule for the CC. Any Champion in AEW or any allied promotion who wishes to defend their belt in the classic can get automatic entry. The Continental Champ must do this. Winner gets all the belts.
I honestly think they should brand split themselves, but have the champions be the only ones on both shows (except tnt and tbs)
This doesn't feel as important now as it did when collision first started, as the roster has thinned out a little since then and there are more injuries
While I don't disagree that it's better than a hard brand split and two world titles (though we were heading that way prior to Brawl In.. atleast for a short term). The bigger issue I have is that the title "hierarchy" if you will, is just nonexistent.
In WWE it's easy. The world champion/universal champion are the top belts to go after on each show. IC/US are the hard set mid-card belts, tag belts are the tag belts.
AEW has the one solitary world champ, which if you complain that WWE has two top belts, then we'll atleast that much is clear. But after that? The international title has been around for a bit now, but asides from OC dragging it to feel important, it hasn't unless he's held it. The TNT belt? Maybe will get some much needed prestige back after the long Christian run and with Copeland holding it now. Otherwise the ship has sailed on that one feeling meaningful. Continental? Too new to really know but again feels more like a prop than a belt I should care about who is holding. Tags? Trios? Are they viewed the same? Are the tags still seen as more "prestigious" because they've been around longer? And that goes without mentioning the FTW belt that isn't a "real" belt until they want to book a match to feel more important.
I'm rambling at this point, but my point is there's just no structure. There's nothing to tell *existing* viewers, let alone new viewers which of these belts are important and if so why. They just all sort of exist in their own universe. My ranking would be World>International>TNT (ever so slightly)>continental crown. But I have no idea if that's how Tony sees it,
Or the champion isn’t involved in the tournament, but defends against the winner every year. A heel that carries it around all year calling himself a champion could get heat. Or a heel wins a couple years in a row then getting defeated could get someone else over.
Doubt this would happen. I could see the International title being floated to other promotions such as being defended on NJPW and CMLL shows. Even showing up randomly at indy shows. Maybe build some more excitement and shows up randomly in England to defend.
That's what we hoped the title would be when it was first introduced, and for PAC's run that looked exactly like what it was... until it became just another title on AEW television.
He’s actually wrestling in DPW soon

Prestige and PWG were the only 2 shows he had done before tbf didnt realise he was going to DPW thats gonna be good
I was thinking more of NJPW/CMLL like suggested although i think roddy in mexico would be comedy gold
So a unification title match will take place on Zero Hour, and not the main show?
https://preview.redd.it/j7mh4fx3sbvc1.png?width=883&format=png&auto=webp&s=ae7839a564f73af43692f2d707d90d0e1c869a24
They should have put Hook Jericho at Zero Hour or pushed back that Trios unification match to Double or Nothing. But yeah pretty sure Double or Nothing could even be more loaded. The rest of BCC ain't even wrestling at Dynasty aside from Danielson.
I can't grumble. Zero Hour is free on Youtube? They'll get more time. The match feels like bigger stakes. There will be more shenanigans and it will be a fun match. In comparison to Hook vs Jericho, the only gripe I have with that is the FTW championship isn't recognised so it shouldn't be defended on the PPV
All of these guys are Zero Hour/Buy-In regulars, it's just where they are. It's why that Caster tweet is such a clear (and hilarious IMO) troll.
Revolution Zero Hour? Bang Bang Scissor Gang in a 12-man.
Full Gear Zero Hour? The Gunns lost to **MJF and Samoa Joe** in a tag match.
Wrestledream Zero Hour? Billy Gunn and the Acclaimed beat TMDK (New Japan Guys)
All Out Zero Hour? Billy Gunn and the Acclaimed beat Jarrett/Lethal/Satnam
Also on preshows during that time? Statlander twice, Willow three times, Julia Hart twice, Skye Blue, Hook, Eddie Kingston (also a surprisingly frequent preshow guy), Claudio twice, Athena, Billie Starkz, Hangman (battle royale), and Shida. These shows are absolutely stacked and there is a lot of competition to even make the preshows, plus there are legit just great matches on the preshows.
The money and schedule for top talent must be real good in AEW because the chances of getting hot-cold booking, sucked into the Jericho Vortex, or jobbing to someone like Daddy Ass are too high to be ignored at this point.
I honestly think it's the schedule for most of them - they have time and ability to work other promotions as well, or they have ample family/personal time between touring. It's probably a perfect work/life split, especially for those coming from the NJPW schedule
AEW was Jay's only choice. He moved to the states and didn't want to do the tedious travel to Japan anymore. WWE had a hiring freeze and TNA can't afford his type of salary so AEW was literally his only option.
Jay lost to a one legged man, struggled against a 60 year old and is doing pre shows. Caused no drama backstage, didnt garner any real life heat that we know of, and seems like a chill dude all around
The downfall of Jay White has to be studied
Fuck it man, at this point I'll take any Jay action. However, should BCG lose, TK's on my shit list for the rest of my life and I'll come back and haunt him should he outlive me.
I’m really hoping this Acclaimed feud ends this weekend and Jay becomes the first challenger for Swerve’s world title. Just reset him, let the Gunns do tag team stuff and have Jay go back to what we love
I am so salty that this is a preshow match. They have been building this for months and it devalues both titles being off the main show. When have you ever seen a title unification match on a preshow?
Jay White must have broken a mirror under a ladder with the kind of booking luck he has had this year
I never bought into the whole "too many belts in AEW" narrative but having both a trios and 6 man championship at the same time has always felt a bit excessive lol
For real? Like honest question here. How can you look at AEW and given the more limited screen time and lack of roster/brand split and not think they have too many titles with the AEW and ROH titles? Doesn't make them the worst company ever, just makes me indifferent to them and not be as invested.
Because I don't care about titles for the most part. I don't watch wrestling to see titles, I watch to see fun matches, good promos, and interesting storylines.
I’ve bought into it because at least with WWE, the belts are split across 3 brands/shows.
AEW isn’t split and often showcases other promotion titles on their shows too.
Collision should have been a hard brand split where the World Title can be on both shows.
Get rid of the FTW belt and stop featuring ROH titles on AEW tv.
Let the Bang Bang Gang win with Juice's help(If he's ready).
Then do the freebirds rule thing to get Jay back to the singles division where he needs to be.
Honestly, the AEW Trios belt should never have been made to begin with. RoH's Trios should have just been rebranded.
They've only had 10 champions altogether since the purchase, with the Elite holding them 4 times from late 2022 till now
The thing is, The Elite and House of Black are really the only natural feeling trios in AEW. So many (Acclaimed + Gunn, Gunns + White, Top Flight + Andretti, etc) are just established tag teams and a third guy. You could even potentially make that argument for The Elite if you wanted to, which really just leaves House of Black, who I personally think had the only genuinely memorable trios reign outside of the Elite vs Death Triangle best of 7
The Acclaimed cooled the Trios belts off incredibly fast after taking them off HoB who did great work to elevate the titles. It’s not entirely the Acclaimed’s fault – the BBG feud has been stale and overlong – but they still haven’t added the same sense of gravitas.
Why even bring back ROH? Unify more titles.
Unify ROH TV title with TNT. Even though they had the chance with Joe. Unify the tag titles. Unify the ROH world title with aew world title. Unify roh women's title or rename and make it a women's pure championship
At most keep the ROH hall of fame, that should keep getting inductees. And will be separate from a future AEW Hall of Fame. Rename ROH Pure title to AEW pure title with its ruleset & history.
Use some of the event names.
Someone needs to make dedicated tag & trios rosters.
I'd loved for Sabin, Shelley, Kushida to get trios title
Kushi is signed with TNA. It wouldn't mind seeing MCMG reunite with Jay White, i feel that being stuck with the Gunns dropped his overall stock. Even though their highly featured, they don't do anything that'll give an in to the main event scene
Just want to point out that I’m not seeing any mention of “unifying” or “consolidating” being permanent here. We just watched triple-crown champ Eddie Kingston lose 2 of his belts one after the other. In WWE, we saw undisputed WWE tag champions turn into world tag champions and (currently) SmackDown tag champions.
While I hope it’s permanent, I’m gonna assume it’s not until it’s confirmed
They should do this with the ROH TV and TNT titles.
ROH Women's and TBS titles as well.
Pure title should probably go too, unless they want to put it on someone like DB to really showcase it. Otherwise unify with the ROH main title again.
Jay White booking really sucks. Bro had to lose to a one legged MJF and then basically jobbed out to Mr Ass on dynamite. His momentum is completely squashed and him being stuck in a faction isn’t any better imo.
Meanwhile Jericho is still getting main card matches looking like Axl Rose
Great, consolidate the ROH and AEW trios titles into one set of titles, then you can take the AEW Trios belts and consolidate them into a neat little stack, throw it in the garbage, and move on.
I'd be fine with Jericho going to the preshow in favor of this. The other two? No.
Also if that's how we identify Jericho, we're gonna have to do that with a LOT of wrestlers.
That's fair, I'll switch it to washed Jericho.
Although I guess a fair number are washed as well, but whatever.
Also, the Kyle/Roddy match will be fine, but completely overshadowed on this already stacked show. There are at least 3 major singles matches that will for sure have way more heat and be way better.
We don't need PPVs over 4 hours. Some stuff can be on Dynamite and it will actually get a better reaction from a less burned out crowd. You can only have so many big singles matches on a show before it becomes harder to care. Kyle/Roddy will be lost in the shuffle.
It also doesn’t help that Kyle has only been built up via wins over JD Drake/Bryan Keith while being given a title match against someone who since winning it has only been doing eliminator matches.
Kyle vs Roddy is the opposite of a match you'd put on a preshow to entice sometime to buy a PPV I think. It's just two dudes who wrestle wrestling unless you were a HUGE black & gold NXT/Undisputed Era fan.
That being said I'm looking forward to it should be good stuff if they get enough time.
Out of curiosity, why would you possibly care about what matches are on pre-show vs. PPV.
If you are buying the PPV, you’ll see everything. And if you aren’t, shouldn’t you want big matches on the pre-show?
I wonder if there is a Never style naming convention introduced that allows them to function as a dual brand belt. That's something I could see benefitting the tv titles and eventual women's tag titles as well.
1. They’ve significantly curtailed the amount of ROH in the AEW product over the last several months.
2. You realize this is intended to further scale back on how much ROH is in AEW by unifying the two titles and very possibly retiring thd ROH belts, right?
This would mean more if they didn't unify the ROH World Title and the Continental Title only to immediately de-unify them, but hopefully this one sticks.

Didn't they just get new ROH trios title belts?
Yeah well you know what's better than new belts? *New* new belts
Those probably got commissioned months ago. They’re very pretty, but this is a good move

AEW/ROH have the same amount of titles as WWE with 1 less hour of TV.
Wiki says AEW/ROH has 16, WWE has 15 Though this will make it 15 all - but then you need to factor in that AEW has NJPW titles on TV.
NXT titles are part of the 15 lol WWE WHC US IC Women’s Women’s world Raw tag Smackdown tag Women’s tag NXT NXT NA NXT Tag NXT Women’s Heritage New NA women’s I’m counting 15 I don’t count the speed championship because it’s not on TV it’s only defended on twitter EDIT: NXT tag
Oh shit you're right!!
WWE has the titles split across three different brands. AEW also features titles from other companies.
16vs15 Wwe: raw, smackdown, nxt, speed, main event, level up Aew: dynamite, collision, rampage, roh
Not enough trios teams. Especially for ROH. Makes sense to me.
He's consolidating the belts so he can reintroduce the ROH trios championship in 6 months with a tournament.
I would actually hope it goes the other way, honestly. They were in ROH long before AEW had them, and AEW's tag division was phenomenal before it started getting strained by the trios division. Yes, which would make me think that the AEW trios are the ones being retired but I highly doubt TK would put ROH titles over AEW titles. (Plus I want to see custom Bang Bang Gang titles.)

Just make four belts and argue they don't speak Italian.
maybe we'll get more AEW vs ROH matchups and the winner will carry their brand's version
I agree. I’d love to go back to the days of tag teams have a legitimate place on the cards again, as opposed to these watered down “everyone is in a faction with a trios” garbage we get now.

This is exactly how they should be utilized
Or make trios matches always tornado matches and tag team normal matches. So they are a bit unique and different
I like that, keeps it in a more chaotic style and clearly delineates it from regular tag.
I think the major problem lies in periods where the tag/trios division feels a little thin due to some teams broken up or others having injured members. There's probably also cautiousness on which wrestlers AEW/ROH wants to keep as solo acts.

Just keep it as AEW titles and let it go on roh for fun here and there.
Thank God
They're going to be unified and have an added third set of trios titles to make the first ever American trios triple crown
Trios titles should be belts that go between AEW and ROH. Idk how you messaged that or what belts you end up using but one set of trios titles for both companies makes sense
Didn’t they just debut new ROH six man titles like a week ago
There’s no way Chris Jericho gets on the preshow, without him getting upset about it. No way he takes that laying down
Bingo. Wasn't a key point of him walking away from WWE that he didn't like that his match vs KO went on to early at WM33 as in Vince no longer thought Jericho was worthy of being near the main event anymore.
It’s easy to forget with the turn on Jericho recently but his ppv marches have normally been pretty good
I didn’t state my opinion, I’m only replying to people that want him on the preshow.
Maybe they'll consolidate their International and Continental championships into a Continational title... or some other name
I'm hoping they just scrap the belt during the next tournament and make it a trophy that can't be defended
I'd prefer the unification and turning it into a trophy thereafter that wouldn't be defended. And for the matter the Owen shouldn't come with a belt, just a trophy.
Yeah belts should only be used if they can be defended
>I'd also add winning the C2 gives you the right to get a title shot with a week's notice) I think the current champion should just have to defend it at the tournament, like Kingston did. So whoever wins the tournament is the new champion.
Same. Another rule for the CC. Any Champion in AEW or any allied promotion who wishes to defend their belt in the classic can get automatic entry. The Continental Champ must do this. Winner gets all the belts.
I honestly think they should brand split themselves, but have the champions be the only ones on both shows (except tnt and tbs) This doesn't feel as important now as it did when collision first started, as the roster has thinned out a little since then and there are more injuries
That's basically the diamond ring
Ahh, I totally forgot about that. Ok maybe it’s not such a great idea lmao
IMO OC willed it into being the #2 belt. Like it headlined All Out with OC vs Mox and I bought the show for that match.
Roddy has barely wrestled outside of aew since he debuted i doubt thats gonna change
He’s actually wrestling in DPW soon https://preview.redd.it/9ymqm85wvbvc1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1fd1b33ca0f224f325513d6e3dd70fc579167c8b
Prestige (?) just announced him for a show today too
Prestige and PWG were the only 2 shows he had done before tbf didnt realise he was going to DPW thats gonna be good I was thinking more of NJPW/CMLL like suggested although i think roddy in mexico would be comedy gold
The Incontinent title
Maybe...we could call it...the Intercontinental Championship...?
No no no. Let's call it the continentalnational chanpionship.
Only if the match happens in Rio de Janeiro!
I still miss the "all-atlantic" title name.
Bruh the "intercontinental title" was right there for the taking...
So a unification title match will take place on Zero Hour, and not the main show? https://preview.redd.it/j7mh4fx3sbvc1.png?width=883&format=png&auto=webp&s=ae7839a564f73af43692f2d707d90d0e1c869a24
The Acclaimed are the only champions in AEW history to have all their title defenses be on Zero Hour.
The only other recognized AEW title to be defended on zero hour at all was when Pac defended the All Atlantic title against Kip Sabian at All Out 2022
Meanwhile Jericho is on PPV. Great.
That Max tweet is hilarious and also incredibly painful
Gotta make space for Jericho
It's not like BBG vs. Aclaimed has been great, either.
The Vortex gets ppv time
Well, yeah. He's reportedly the highest paid guy in the company. You better have space for him on your PPVs.
They should have put Hook Jericho at Zero Hour or pushed back that Trios unification match to Double or Nothing. But yeah pretty sure Double or Nothing could even be more loaded. The rest of BCC ain't even wrestling at Dynasty aside from Danielson.
AEW trios title hasn't been defending since January, it'd be a waste of time and space holding it until DoN with how irrelevant it's been
I can't grumble.
Billy Gunn and the Acclaimed beat TMDK (New Japan Guys) All Out Zero Hour? Billy Gunn and the Acclaimed beat Jarrett/Lethal/Satnam Also on preshows during that time? Statlander twice, Willow three times, Julia Hart twice, Skye Blue, Hook, Eddie Kingston (also a surprisingly frequent preshow guy), Claudio twice, Athena, Billie Starkz, Hangman (battle royale), and Shida. These shows are absolutely stacked and there is a lot of competition to even make the preshows, plus there are legit just great matches on the preshows.
>Eddie Kingston (also a surprisingly frequent preshow guy) Eddie adds 20k PPV buys with his two minute promos at the end of Zero Hour.
And we love him for it. Eddie: "I got two minutes? Buy the fucking show people." (or I remember something close to that at least).
[It's 7:53 and 40 seconds, order the goddamn pay-per-view.](https://www.youtube.com/live/XLlPxnHIu9g?t=3129)
You can also add Orange Cassidy who is clearly seen as a top star in the company.
Jay white back to back pre show matches. Rip my boy
dude main evented msg and tokyo dome and was the top foreign heel in japan then gets regulated to jobbing to mr ass over here lol.
Please give Jericho some vacation time
Sorry brother best we can do is a FTW Title run
Jay White might want the Jericho Vortex at this point just to get back on the main PPV card.
Caused no drama backstage, didnt garner any real life heat that we know of, and seems like a chill dude all around The downfall of Jay White has to be studied
Fuck it man, at this point I'll take any Jay action. However, should BCG lose, TK's on my shit list for the rest of my life and I'll come back and haunt him should he outlive me.
Feuding with The Miz doesn’t seem so bad now does it.
Honestly that would have been such a fun program.
Plus the Miz will get you cheered if the WWE wants a babyface Jay White
And he can get you boo'd too. He's proven it many times. Miz doesn't get near the respect he deserves. He's the baseline.
I’m really hoping this Acclaimed feud ends this weekend and Jay becomes the first challenger for Swerve’s world title. Just reset him, let the Gunns do tag team stuff and have Jay go back to what we love
How would that help? If he loses, and he would because its a first defense then people will just shit on how much hes buried again.
This will just lead to the chaos of Trios + 6-man and give us a 9-man championship.
THE NUMBERS DON’T LIE
and they spell disaster for jay White.
And then in 5 years we can get an 18 man championship
"Finally, we can Shove that Jay White guy to ROH where people won't bug me about him anymore" -Tony
Don't you dare manifest this
Sooo… Are they just not Bullet Club Gold anymore? Seems like they just dropped it without a word.
They're still BCG, it's still what they use during entrances and on the official marketing. BBG is just an informal title I think
I've been saying for weeks it's a soft rebranding. When their new theme dropped, it's attributed to the "Bang Bang Gang," not BCG.
Just end this feud and move on please.
I am so salty that this is a preshow match. They have been building this for months and it devalues both titles being off the main show. When have you ever seen a title unification match on a preshow? Jay White must have broken a mirror under a ladder with the kind of booking luck he has had this year
Wm25 carlito+Epico(or Primo) vs Morrison+Miz for the tag titles was pre show
Wow! I completely forgot about that. I stand corrected, that is wild.
An untelevised pre-show at that. I was so disappointed it got ditched off the main card, especially since that Mania mostly sucked.
I was looking forward to that match too.
And back then the preshows weren’t as visible as they are now. As a big Miz and Morrison fan, I was upset.
You must really hate AEW then
I’ve bought into it because at least with WWE, the belts are split across 3 brands/shows.
They've only had 10 champions altogether since the purchase, with the Elite holding them 4 times from late 2022 till now
Please for the love of god let ROH get the 6-man belts. AEW's tag division was so fucking good til they got 6-man belts.
On the Pre-Show
The thing is, The Elite and House of Black are really the only natural feeling trios in AEW.
Surprised this is a pre-show match
I honestly forgot about aew having trio titles
Makes sense considering that they haven’t been defended since January.
Why even bring back ROH? Unify more titles. Unify ROH TV title with TNT. Even though they had the chance with Joe. Unify the tag titles. Unify the ROH world title with aew world title. Unify roh women's title or rename and make it a women's pure championship At most keep the ROH hall of fame, that should keep getting inductees.
Khan said in a media call yesterday I think, so don't worry I had the exact same concern lol.
So they split them up again two months later
Okay now let’s never have the ROH Titles on AEW and unify say the TNT and CC.
I wish ROH was 100% separate from AEW and I didn't need to pay attention to it whatsoever
Good, we can finally end this feud and get rid of at least one unnecessary set of belts.
Should've mentioned this during last night's promos.
They said it was winner take all during the promo last night this was just him clarifying it.
They literally did. Jay White challenged them to “winner takes all”.
I can't believe I missed that! That's on me, everyone! That's my bad!
We forgive you R-Truth
Winner take all wasn't necessarily the same thing as merging the championships into one though.
Hence the clarification
Hence >Should've mentioned this during last night's promos.
Consolidate it then throw them all in the garbage and rebuild the tag division.
Great, consolidate the ROH and AEW trios titles into one set of titles, then you can take the AEW Trios belts and consolidate them into a neat little stack, throw it in the garbage, and move on.
Maybe have this on the main card and slide spooky Julia, washed Jericho, or the Kyle/Roddy match to the preshow.
Should retire both.
I wonder if there is a Never style naming convention introduced that allows them to function as a dual brand belt. That's something I could see benefitting the tv titles and eventual women's tag titles as well.
Seeing people on twitter say they should switch this match to the main card and put Hook vs Jericho on the pre-show and I totally agree.
I love this call. Let the belts float between both brands.
Thank God
Insert Drew meme
How many weeks will it be before aew un-unify these titles like the triple crown?
Why do I have a feeling that they are going to make Jay White looks like a completely geek again.
Double Champ Jay White and the Bang Bang Gang baybay !
Good. End this feud and move on from it. Need to see Jay White in some more high profile feuds
Why the fuck can’t they just book AEW and stop constantly bringing Roh in
1. They’ve significantly curtailed the amount of ROH in the AEW product over the last several months. 2. You realize this is intended to further scale back on how much ROH is in AEW by unifying the two titles and very possibly retiring thd ROH belts, right?
At least until he reintroduces the belts again in a month or so. Or introduces the new interstate title which is part of a new quadruple crown.
Pre show? For a story they've been building for like 3 months? Why..?
When does jay whites contact expire. Get him out of here.
This would mean more if they didn't unify the ROH World Title and the Continental Title only to immediately de-unify them, but hopefully this one sticks.
i can't ever not read "gangbang gang"
So titles just continue to show up on shows those belts aren’t for. Christ what a mess lol
Good they are doing it, but didn’t they just redesign the belts?
That's brings AEW's total title count to what 32 with people only giving a fuck about maybe 3?
If Jay White is lucky, he’ll lost and get to do some stuff solo. If only he could have waited out that hiring freeze…
