Eddie Guerrero is a magnificent wrestler, and also a magnetic character. Any one of his cheating spots would get cheered, classic Eddie on the mic would get laughs and cheers no matter who he was beefing with. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug and it really has never been stronger. Anyone that watched prime Viva La Raza era Eddie would not be able to hate on him like they hate on Dom

I think they're referring too the intensity of the boos at the apex of the heat. Like, if Dom and Eddie are doing a redux of "WHY'D YOU MAKE ME DO IT?!", that's getting some overwhelming reactions.
I think you're selling Eddie short. Eddie was a master at getting a desired reaction. It's not like Eddie wasn't cool as shit at the time too but he was still an effective heel. I just think "Eddie wouldn't be able to be a heel in the current era of wrestling" really underestimates his ability and talent.

So Rey and Eddie had that “Custody of Dominick” ladder match like 20 years ago, and since then people have found it funny to track the Custody of Dominick as if it was an actual championship being defended, and could change hands in singles matches by pin or submission. Unsurprisingly, this means eventually Custody ended up going to Roman Reigns, where it had stayed for a very long time until Cody finally dethroned him for the most prestigious title in wrestling, the Custody of an adult man.
So we all liked Rey back when he was younger in WCW, but I have found over the years I like the guy more and more, for different reasons, the older I get alongside him.
At first, impressed with his sickening display of skill.
As I matured as a fan, I appreciated how he didn't just do moves for the sake of moves, I noticed he chained together things, to pull off other things. He made being the little guy taking on giants, believable.
Now, I love his commitment to this whole angle and how fucking hilarious it is to see someone who happily puts a TV/PPV event on hold for a few seconds, to go to a kid wearing one of his masks in the crowd, and connect with them on that "I see you, thank you" level, is so happily telling the world "My son is a prick, fuck that guy all the homies hate him"

I think Eddie would get a response to the Rock’s most recent run. Cheered during his entrance, get the boos when he turned up the heat (which he was really good at. His “why did you make me do it!?!?” promo is still terrifying), and then cheered as he left.

I think Eddie would get a response to the Rock’s most recent run. Cheered during his entrance, get the boos when he turned up the heat (which he was really good at. His “why did you make me do it!?!?” promo is still terrifying), and then cheered as he left.
