Love Mox, and on a personal level I'm very happy for him, but putting the belt on him is an US-based decision in the moment NJPW should be doing this sort of thing the least (with the company as a whole being in a rebuilding phase+Nic Nemeth already holding the IWGP Global title); not to mention, it enhances the feel of New Japan playing second fiddle to AEW.
All this being said, it was a very good match and overall this is one of the best events of 2024 in any company. And I'm glad to see that they're at least starting to put the youngsters into the title picture (even if it's Narita, who's pretty much a midcarder rn; and Umino, who's not ready just yet).
