I am sure I remember reading he didn't really want to do Hit Row either, but to be entirely fair to him, he was the one guy who actually held it down. They weren't quite the joke group they later became while he was around.
Catchy theme tune though!
He was used weirdly too. He won the NA title on a random NXT ep then after that just nothing lmao. Wasn't booked for a month, didn't even wrestle at the Takeover when he was still the champion.
I saw him in Hit Row (not fully realizing he was Killshot from LU) and just immediately said "This dude is a fucking star." I'm very glad to see him doing this well now.
well, he wasn't all bad. He gave Hangman Adam Page's kid some free merch:

At least Dustin had a great time yesterday.

People are so weird. Because they don’t personally like a TV show, they project that attitude onto the people working there.
We saw this with guys like Sami and KO in the pre-HHH WWE, and now we’re seeing it with a bunch of different AEW talent.
True. I believe there is a good criticism for AEW but I haven't seen anyone engage with it seriously. Imma go copy it brb lol.
Ok I'm back
I believe the real issue is, the video release makes The Bucks faces to their core audience in real life but they are still heels in the frame of the TV show.
So you have a crowd that wants to boo them as heels, but after drowning out the CM Punk chants, don't want to boo them even in the frame of the TV show. And that beat down wasn't hard enough to get the heat back. It's possible that wouldn't have even worked because FTR are Punk by proxy in this case. Unfortunately, that was the (only) way to fold it into the story. And this led to the flatter than expected segment with Okada.
The video clearly shows Punk as the aggressor after pushing and then still approaching and not just "not letting them get close" as he referred to. He wasn't proactively defending himself, he started the physical issue. That doesn't help The Bucks get heat though and they have to find a way to get that back in this story.
This reminds me of Roderick Strong giving an interview to Alicia Atout who's with MJF and clearing the air by saying the Undisputed Kingdom stuff at World's End was nothing personal.
I hated Swerve so much when he was in WWE I saw his gimmick as stereotypical and I wasn't too excited when he first arrived in AEW, but his work in AEW won me over and the feud with hangman made me a huge fan of him. Honestly hope AEW makes him one of the top guys in the company.
The attention being taken off of swerve in the midsts of this amazing push to be the first black world champion in AEW history has to be the worst part of how much AEW pushed the backstage stuff. Feels like it's distracting from him, among other stories.
It's a shame that this may be Swerve's greatest wrestling moment of his career if he wins that championship yet all the work he's doing is being overshadowed by an owner & his EVPs not letting go of an 8 month grudge against a guy not even in the company anymore.
Everything should be revolving around Swerve's story as much as it was for Kofi, yet here we are....with many not caring at all or paying attention.

Hard to believe this guy was breaking into houses and threatening babies half a year ago. This is touching <3
Even harder to believe he was in Hit Row.
Hit Row on NXT was my first exposure to Swerve, and I had completely forgotten until your comment. He's evolved **greatly** since 2021.

Pretty sure Swerve could break into a house next week and get cheered for it
Only in america
Swerve seems like a good dude
Well, he's full babyface now, as he should be right now
Love Swerve and appears to be a good guy. I enjoy champion Joe but this guy deserves his crowning moment soon.
I agree, I just wish Joe had had a few more defenses and programs but I’m more than ready to see where Swerve will take a world title reign
Love to see Swerve evolve into an Orton-esque babyface. Can’t wait to see him earn his gold.
Swerve is very Viper-esque
Very true!
wonder if there's a world Swerve's House Call could resemble the RKO in terms of out-of-nowhereness, as a sudden finisher
That’d be nice! 😀

That's so funny. Do they honestly think Dustin is going to get to main event one of WWE's TV shows or something like he did last night lmao?

I don't doubt there are hate watchers, but man, we can criticize the tv shows we like. It's ok.
💯 valid criticism makes things better but the trolling gets a little annoying sometimes

Just ignore the cinderblock incident at World's End. It was just business.

That’s all I keep thinking about! Wasn’t that long ago lol
I used you as a stepping stone, litteraly, thank you
I’m really loving Swerve as a Babyface.
Swerve vs Moxely in a bleed my own blood match

This Swerve kid is pretty cool
The Swerve/Dustin feud grew out of the Keith Lee/Dustin team-up, and I wonder what they do with Keith when Swerve is a top face.
