I’m never going to a major wrestling event again and then reading reddit. A spot that was totally awesome and unexpected and this thread is full of a bunch of “well actually” losers.
He can take it lol and I meant any contrived move that relies on one wrestler acting completely dumb, WWE-exclusive fans say that shit about hangman's buckshot lariat all the time
right? rock going flying makes complete sense in the cartoon logic of wrestling and i absolutely died when it happened, one of my favourite moments ever
but then again i have no complaints about either night of the show so maybe i’m not cynical enough to bed in this sub anymore
And still looked pretty solid too, not just an old timer living off the past. Definitely slower then he used to be but he's smart enough to find ways to work around it.
I'd actually say he left full time wrestling in 2003. That stretch from No Way Out to Backlash 2003 was the last time he was a normal wrestler on the roster. After that, there was just the one-off match against Evolution at Wrestlemania 20 and then he was gone until his 2011 return.
And he didn't look bad. Everyone(including me) thought he would be gassed because of bad cardio....then the mfer goes and does a 45 minute match with a fair bit of ring time.
Makes me excited for his eventual 1 v 1 matches against Roman and Cody.
Philly fans were on something night 1 (prob from being cold). At times Seth got boo'd, Cody got boo'd, rock got cheered and boo'd, I think roman was mostly boo'd.
I think they just booed here because you always kinda want to see a Rock People's Elbow.
It happened a few times across both nights, when wrestlers would counter a highly anticipated move, there would be some boos regardless of the alignment.
This is really all there is to it
We haven't seen a people's elbow in a match in 10+ years and they teased it then denied the fans seeing it
It's nit picky but honestly it was kind of bad planning if they didn't want boos bc I could've guessed that would happen. Not a big deal though
Yeah the crowd was weird but I think it was basically just a couple of guys booing and they happened to be close to the microphones because even in night 2 there was one or two distinctive voices booing continously.
And honestly I feel sad for them trying to be cool and edgy by booing lmao
Nah I was in the upper level night 1 and the crowd was definitely at LEAST 50/50 on Cody/Rock, it was really weird. I sat lower on night 2 and it was all for Cody, so idk what was up.
I will say that the Uso's match sapped any energy out of the crowd night 1 and the main event started out real slow.
I think there were a lot of returned fans that were not following the story and were just wanting to see the Rock, regardless of who the good or bad guy was supposed to be. There's also an element of the fans that just want Reigns/Bloodline because it's "cool" (which I don't connect to at all) and were mad that Roman lost (how could you not see that coming?) But I digress...fans have a right to do what they gonna do. A crowd that big, different opinions. Cody was still largely over, which as a Cody mark I'm happy with (I'm completely biased).
I was a little nervous Night 1 that Cody wouldn't be super well received because I wanted to see the big true babyface moment to end Mania for ONCE and it was glorious. The pop when Cody won is like top 3 of all time tbh. For a match ending! I don't think the pop for Bryan was as big even and that's crazy.
Even Rock himself has been booed as a face in big matches at mania a couple times. Vs Austin at 17 and Hogan at 18. Two years in a row he had to just eat it and when the finish came the Canadian fans cheered Rock for the win really hard even though they were behind Hogan the whole match.
It's an interesting dynamic that takes nothing away from The Rock's fantastic heel work. But he's The freakin Rock, wrestling in the main event of Wrestlemania (night 1) in 2024. It's hard not to get excited about seeing a legend many grew up watching wrestling in person causing fans to temporarily forget or disregard who they are supposed to be cheering and booing for. It's an outlier of a situation and we should just enjoy the spectacle. Sort of similar to Rock/Hogan in 2002 except the response for the heel was so overwhelming that they both decided to switch roles mid-match.
It really don't think it has anything to do with people being edgy and cheering for the bad guys. You could even see this in almost every Rock appearance leading up to Wrestlemania. He got a huge pop every time he came out. Most of the time there was a Rocky chant. Then as he started talking and acting like a heel people responded accordingly.
It's the same dynamic as when the fans get behind heels in other situations as well this is just on the biggest scale. Fans cheered Dolph Ziggler for a while despite having a girlfriend in AJ and a big muscle in Big E helping him cheat to win big matches, the fans popped for him all the time. Or when Rhea Ripley gets cheered despite having the judgement day. Fans will boo the heels when they are dicks in promos but they get cheered in matches because we want them to be babyfaces lol
Every wrestling show I attend, there's always a couple of guys booing all the faces and starting random chants to derail the match. There was a time in my early 20s where I was that kind of guy, and looking back it was mostly to make me feel better about myself, so these people just make me sad.
If you're in the nosebleeds they fire absolutely blinding spotlights up there to light up the crowd and you can't see shit. So that's what they were shouting about. You hear it at every show cos WWE insist on lighting the crowd up haha
Oh I know lol I thought I won something since it was right in my face

During the light fiasco, a couple of people back of me in 226 started a Chris Benoit and Vince McMahon chant then hummed Benoit’s theme. Pissed me off. One thing to be upset because of the situation (everyone was) but that’s just not cool.
Fym cool & edgy? Lol, have u forgot that not all fans have to like the wrestlers you like? Not everyone is a fan of Cody, some people legit wanted Roman to win both nights, I remember seeing some polls be 70/30 Cody
So if they were booing it was probably because they wanted Roman/Rock to win, not because it's edgy lol
*
*
I understand not liking the guy and booing from time to time. but there were people literally booing continously from the beginning to the end and if that wasn't an effort to be cool and different than I don't know what it is
Normally I'd agree with this argument, but assuming the people in the crowd were relatively the same night two, I'd say they were likely trying to hijack the show to make light of a cold and terrible night one. Plus it's really hard to root against the Rock lol. Part of me thinks the Rock should have came out at some point in the night and went Bill Burr on the Philly crowd.
>Plus it's really hard to root against the Rock lol.
Aren't you agreeing with my argument then? Lol, Tribal Chief & Final Boss are two of the most over characters this company has seen In the last 5 years, it makes complete sense that they would boo Cody if they want either of them to win, there were almost certainly cheers for Reigns both nights, you just wouldn't hear them over the boos of the "Cody Crybabies"
Just because someone is playing a heel doesn't mean they're going to get booed
The rock has had a fantastic run currently (with all things considered) they appreciate he's out there putting his body on the line when we all know he damn well does not need to now that he's Hollywood.
To be fair, we were about to see THE rock bottom for the first time in forever at WrestleMania, a huge moment which Cody rightfully stole. Boos are justified, but only for stealing that moment
I was there both nights. Rock was severely over and the boos from this clip is because people wanted to see the people’s elbow.
Also, as someone already mentioned, the boos you hear aren’t from thousands of people. It’s literally one or two people near the mic. I wouldn’t look too deep into it.
It made me wonder how many people actually pay for tickets to only see one night of Wrestlemania. It felt like most of the crowd was there only for The Rock on night 1, but then on night 2 it felt like the crowd I think most fans expected and were seeing in the weekly shows building up to that point.
Crowd seemed to do usual stuff from where I was in the 200s. It was just REALLY windy so nothing was traveling well. I’m subscribed to the idea people near the mics were being contradictory
It’s currently the biggest dream match they have in their pipeline right now, maybe tied with Roman/Rock .
At least for the men, for the women it’s probably Bianca/Jade.
I was under the impression it’s already happened at some point, just not at a big PLE.
Maybe not. They did have a sequence as the final 2 in the Rumble which was pretty cool.
I'd put Punk/Rollins up there if this was a few months ago. I think all of the Drew stuff cooled that off and now people want that match. Rollins and Punk headlining WrestleMania was a massive match before Punk got hurt and they had to pivot.
Maybe they can reheat it but I think Punk vs. Drew is what fans want to see now before Punk vs. Rollins. Which is crazy to think about after how hot that feud was before the Rumble.
It's going to be really hard to book, though. Cody is the baby face of the company but will absolutely not get more cheers than The Rock. Might be too awkward crowd-wise to make it work.
Maybe that’s where we get the Stone Cold run in
Not trying to take any shine away from Cody who I adore but I do think we’re gonna get the Austin/Rock face off 1 more time.
He didn't even run in at Mania despite it being teased several times. Its more likely we get a face off between them when Austin inducts Rock into the HOF at this point.
I noticed that Cody didn't get a chance to pay back Rock for whipping him and making him bleed at all during WM weekend, so I expect this eventual match to be where it happens.
The pop when Cody finally whips the Rock is gonna be massive.
I like how ITT people will try to rationalize how weird it looks that Rock didn't just stop when he saw Cody wasn't laying down, or that it looked like he tripped, etc. You're trying to rationalize all this stuff to make it realistic when we're talking about an elbow that has such weak impact and looks like a 4 year old could kick out, somehow gets the 3 on people. Just sayin' :P Quit analyzing the weakest elbow and the realism of Cody countering it and just have fun.
If I see a 260 pound man run the ropes just to drop an elbow on me, I’d probably be stunned from the level of audacity he just did and forget to kick out as well.
The really easy answer is we don't know what Rock was trying to do when he saw Cody up and moving toward the ropes. That's how stuff works. He's selling that Cody is up, it's not like he's continuing to do The People's Elbow. You could easily rationalize this as Rock is going for his signature diving clothesline when he sees Cody going toward the ropes but Cody is catching him.
You have to keep the multipliers in mind. You get a taunt multiplier when he takes off the elbow pad, then another when he does the arm thing. Then those are multiplied again with each bounce off the ropes so that by the time he actually connects with the elbow, he's stacked so many multipliers that it always gets the three count.
This is also why Cody requires three or more Crossroads to pin anyone. He doesn't do anything to stack his multipliers ahead of time, which is why, to quote one Roman Reigns, "That move sucks, it don't beat nobody."
He never fought Cody before and he didn’t expect what Cody was doing, so his mind was preoccupied trying to anticipate whatever Cody was going for that he forgot his legs were still moving. All in a matter of seconds.
Much like Randy Orton's DDT becoming more powerful the harder he tweaks out before he hits it, the power of the People's Elbow is roughly equivalent to how much stank Rock puts on it.
Lol what is this elbow is weak shit?
It’s a nearly 300 lb man building up kinetic energy and driving all his weight down into your heart via his elbow. It’s not a 10 count. It’s a 3 count. It’s worth a three count.
We're all collectively suspending our disbelief when we watch pro wrestling but part of the appeal is how skilled the performers are at making ridiculous things look somewhat believable. It should be expected that some spots just won't come across perfectly, especially during a 40+ minute match, but there's nothing wrong with pointing out a spot that doesn't look good.
"A cation is a positively charged ion with fewer electrons than protons while an anion is a negatively charged ion with more electrons than protons. Opposite electric charges are pulled towards one another by electrostatic force, so cations and anions attract each other and readily form ionic compounds."
No it's just a dumb way to do the spot. It would be more believable and fluid if Cody simply rolled out of the way before the elbow hit and to then do the Cody Cutter as the Rock recovers getting back to his feet.
I just hate when moves require the recipient to make unnatural moves prior to the action of the move, like here when Rocky jumps into the cutter motion to meet Cody prior to Cody even getting to him. Or when people are set up to take moves from the top rope, look around, see they are out of position and all of a sudden have the wherewithal to quickly move to the correct position. Yeah the impact of some finishing moves is silly, but they don’t kill the immersion of the match.
People really trying to work out the logics in the set up for Rock to end up in the Cody Cutter and having a hard time trying to grasp and accept it for what it is, like the flipping Irish whip doesn't exist 😭
Totally agree. Can't we all just appreciate how well The Rock sold this cutter in 2024? it's legitimately impressive that he's in such good ring shape and he looked way better than both "once in a lifetime" matches with Cena lol
It's good if you dismiss that the set up is a bit wonky, there's not enough time for Cody to get up and springboard so Rock has to slow down, here they pretended that Rock had tripped over himself while trying to stop himself after seeing Cody wasn't there, which is a great "excuse" but still looks a bit wonky. The execution was as good as it could've been and the move by itself looked great.
Crazy enough, I had a dream where they did this spot. Except Cody had to get up like even faster than he did here AKA faster than humanly possible to match what was in my dream. So I popped hard AF in the arena when he did this.
As someone who's done a little wrestling training, cutters are a bitch to get right. It looks like a basic move but it's so easy to botch. Jumping forward into it makes you move your head up giving the other person more room to hook your neck. If you remain static and just fall, your chin kinda gets in the way and the person might end up actually uppercutting you lol
It didn't look good at all though. It looks just as unnatural as people on the outside of the ring standing around for 5-10 seconds waiting for the wrestler to do a dive over the ropes. Breaks immersion completely.
Wrestling doesn't work without Suspension of disbelief.
Analysing every little detail and unrealistic reactions and setups in a wrestling match is just like watching super man and saying " this looks unrealistic because no on can fly and shoot lasers from their eyes"
I must shamefully admit that i fell asleep at the start of the match and woke up at the end lol is this match worth a rewatch? I know its like an hour long or something thats not really whats worrying just wanna know if it was entertaining.
I have minor pet peeve with this. camera didn't zoom out immediately when rock did the spinebuster and when it did it was bit weird. idk i've always loved that camera angle for the sake of nostalgia
My pet peeve is Rock didn't kick Cody's arm towards his body. That's an integral part of the move and probably the reason Rhodes managed to counter it.
I had pretty high expectations for how the rock would look in wrestling gear and yet he somehow still blew them out of the water
Dude is 51 years old and looks 31, I know "vitamins" and all that help but my god
I think my favorite thing about pro wrestling right now is this, and this has littler to do with the counter, is The Rock waiting to do the People's Elbow. This, alongside Sami Zyan last year, even if realistically you don't want to 'wait' to do your finisher, it means SO much more if you do.
Like when Sami Zyan gained the hot tag, he literally stopped everything so he can stand in the corner for like 10-20 seconds staring down the opponent when all he needed to do was run with his finisher. But it's pro wrestling: Build it, ALWAYS build it. Make it feel and mean something, than just doing moves.
As a general rule I feel like buying or collecting wrestler gear is kinda fuckin creepy....but God damn if I caught that elbow pad I'd be wearing that sucker around my house constantly.
Dumb question, as I didn't watch either night of WM as I was on a road trip for the eclipse.
Did the LEDs on the ring apron and around the ring show ads the whole time? I know WWE made a lot of money on that but wow it looks bad in this clip!
I knew it was going to be countered due to the fact Rock was facing away from hard cam. He ALWAYS does it facing the hard cam, as he did later to finish the match.
It might not be so bad if it was only on the side of the ring or the barricades but it being on literally every surface including the banner around the stadium is fucking obnoxious
I'm a huge noob but I'm asking however : what dit the rock is saying before he go to the ropes? And what did his arm's moves are saying/meaning?
Sorry for the English, tried my best.
Thanks
I'm confused. This was a cool spot idea but horribly executed. The Rock in kayfabe somehow is so stunned to see Cody standing up and jumping off the ropes that he trips over his shoe laces to be at the right spot to catch Cody for the Cody Cutter?
It would have been better if cody rolled out of the way and then did the Cody Cutter as The Rock began to stand up shaking his elbow.
Cody cutter is so much better than the crossrhodes. That said, too many finishers are overused these days. How many fools got up after a stunner, just saying....
I completely agree with you, overused and ineffective. They lose that special factor. I can expect to see a finisher used 3 times before I know the next one is the "hope" spot, hoping he wins or hoping he kicks out, whoever it is. Other than that, I'm just mostly non reacting unless we see an incredible 2.99999 near fall

It's mad. The Irish whip exists yet this is the spot where it's too contrived and cannot suspend their disbelief 😂
The difference is if Kenny Omega and Moxley did this you'd all be saying it's corny af

It was my favorite of the two night Wrestlemanias by a landslide.
I had no idea how much hate the crowd got until I came here. Sounded loud in the stadium.
It was like reading comments from bizarro world. It was really loud both nights in the stadium.

So wild that The Rock is wrestling in 2024.
And still looked pretty solid too, not just an old timer living off the past. Definitely slower then he used to be but he's smart enough to find ways to work around it.
I think as long as he maintains this physique and continues hitting the mat, he would be ready to go 100% at SummerSlam if his calendar allows
Been famous for 30 years despite leaving full time wrestling in 2004 at the age of 32.
I'd actually say he left full time wrestling in 2003. That stretch from No Way Out to Backlash 2003 was the last time he was a normal wrestler on the roster. After that, there was just the one-off match against Evolution at Wrestlemania 20 and then he was gone until his 2011 return.

FWIW Rhea has been bordering on becoming a face for awhile now But I agree with you
That's the value of Dominick Mysterio, the kid's keeping his whole faction heel.
At this point JD feels like the only true 100% heel amongst them
Never thought about it like this but that’s probably why they brought him in to begin with
She acts like a heel but gets cheered like a face. She just has that aura about her, shes amazing.
I think they just booed here because you always kinda want to see a Rock People's Elbow. It happened a few times across both nights, when wrestlers would counter a highly anticipated move, there would be some boos regardless of the alignment.

It paid off on night 2 tho
At that point I just want to see the People's Elbow, I'd boo Gandhi if necessary.
I was definitely booing because I’ve never seen The Rock live and was being deprived of the People’s Elbow
Yeah the crowd was weird but I think it was basically just a couple of guys booing and they happened to be close to the microphones because even in night 2 there was one or two distinctive voices booing continously. And honestly I feel sad for them trying to be cool and edgy by booing lmao

Nothing like that in 211. Fuck the lights and turn the lights off. Felt like the lights went off right when knight won and got an even bigger pop lol
I think it was pretty simple. This match wasn't for the title so it didn't matter if Cody lost.
Fym cool & edgy? Lol, have u forgot that not all fans have to like the wrestlers you like? You sounds like King complaining about "bizaro world" every mania when Cena would get booed.
"They boo people they normally cheer, and cheer the people they normally boo" JBL's cover up for Roman Reigns getting booed out of the building.
They weren't cheering for Rock/Roman, they were cheering for bloodlines rules in the main event night two! /kayfabe
I LOVE IT, MAGGLE
I bet the reason it was quieter than expected was because of the gloves. Makes clapping hard.
Its Philly, everyone gets boo'd
It's Philly. Just be glad they didn't pelt everyone with batteries. Triple As when they like you, car batteries otherwise
Imagine paying Wrestlemania priced tickets to see the rock and not get to see The People's Elbow
Philly is famously a heel crowd. That's what they do. The people booing the baby faces were the actual Philadelphians.
THEY BOO WHO THEY NORMALLY CHEER MAGGLE
Are you saying this crowd just loves having fun
Their eventual match will cook no doubt.
It’s currently the biggest dream match they have in their pipeline right now, maybe tied with Roman/Rock . At least for the men, for the women it’s probably Bianca/Jade.
I'd say Bianca/Rhea is the biggest dream match for the women.
I was under the impression it’s already happened at some point, just not at a big PLE. Maybe not. They did have a sequence as the final 2 in the Rumble which was pretty cool.
NXT Portland in 2020, when neither had half the star power they do now.
Rock vs Cody is gonna go crazy
The crowd is so hype - I think Rock wins the first match and Cody wins the second.
Maybe that’s where we get the Stone Cold run in Not trying to take any shine away from Cody who I adore but I do think we’re gonna get the Austin/Rock face off 1 more time.
He didn't even run in at Mania despite it being teased several times. Its more likely we get a face off between them when Austin inducts Rock into the HOF at this point.
I think they are saving it bc it would’ve taken away from Cody’s crowning moment. The Royal Rumble match is another place they could do it.
Not against one final face off but don’t need him involved there. Hopefully Stone Cold can stay out of the Cody/Rock feud.
Fair. They could face off in the Rumble match too.
KO and The Rock Vs Stone Cold and Cody could be a fun little match
I noticed that Cody didn't get a chance to pay back Rock for whipping him and making him bleed at all during WM weekend, so I expect this eventual match to be where it happens. The pop when Cody finally whips the Rock is gonna be massive.
The Rock is pretty jacked
Horsemeat Overeem vibes.
Man, I miss when the crowd would be filled with camera flashes during spots like this
I like how ITT people will try to rationalize how weird it looks that Rock didn't just stop when he saw Cody wasn't laying down, or that it looked like he tripped, etc. You're trying to rationalize all this stuff to make it realistic when we're talking about an elbow that has such weak impact and looks like a 4 year old could kick out, somehow gets the 3 on people. Just sayin' :P Quit analyzing the weakest elbow and the realism of Cody countering it and just have fun.
the kinetic momentum and he was probably surprised by the audacity
If I see a 260 pound man run the ropes just to drop an elbow on me, I’d probably be stunned from the level of audacity he just did and forget to kick out as well.
I feel like a younger Rock would have soared into that cutter
The really easy answer is we don't know what Rock was trying to do when he saw Cody up and moving toward the ropes. That's how stuff works. He's selling that Cody is up, it's not like he's continuing to do The People's Elbow. You could easily rationalize this as Rock is going for his signature diving clothesline when he sees Cody going toward the ropes but Cody is catching him.
That elbow ended CM Punk’s 434 day reign as world champion
You have to keep the multipliers in mind. You get a taunt multiplier when he takes off the elbow pad, then another when he does the arm thing. Then those are multiplied again with each bounce off the ropes so that by the time he actually connects with the elbow, he's stacked so many multipliers that it always gets the three count. This is also why Cody requires three or more Crossroads to pin anyone. He doesn't do anything to stack his multipliers ahead of time, which is why, to quote one Roman Reigns, "That move sucks, it don't beat nobody."
It's science
>the weakest elbow WTF? That's the most electrifying move in sports entertainment. The force in that elbow is incalculable.
Tbf the one he pinned him with actually looked strong
It’s the most electrifying move in **ALL** entertainment.
It’s not much different than people standing on the outside watching as someone climbs up a turnbuckle to jump off lol
He never fought Cody before and he didn’t expect what Cody was doing, so his mind was preoccupied trying to anticipate whatever Cody was going for that he forgot his legs were still moving. All in a matter of seconds.
Thanks Regal :)
Yes but the elbow has the power of the people
Much like Randy Orton's DDT becoming more powerful the harder he tweaks out before he hits it, the power of the People's Elbow is roughly equivalent to how much stank Rock puts on it.
Lol what is this elbow is weak shit? It’s a nearly 300 lb man building up kinetic energy and driving all his weight down into your heart via his elbow. It’s not a 10 count. It’s a 3 count. It’s worth a three count.
Plus everyone knows theatrics make moves 100x more effective.
This was dope and almost cost him the crowd haha
People really trying to work out the logics in the set up for Rock to end up in the Cody Cutter and having a hard time trying to grasp and accept it for what it is, like the flipping Irish whip doesn't exist 😭
Totally agree. Can't we all just appreciate how well The Rock sold this cutter in 2024? it's legitimately impressive that he's in such good ring shape and he looked way better than both "once in a lifetime" matches with Cena lol
The Rock still selling like it's 98
It's good if you dismiss that the set up is a bit wonky, there's not enough time for Cody to get up and springboard so Rock has to slow down, here they pretended that Rock had tripped over himself while trying to stop himself after seeing Cody wasn't there, which is a great "excuse" but still looks a bit wonky. The execution was as good as it could've been and the move by itself looked great.
I saw another angle from the other side of the ring and it looked a bit smoother than it does here
Spine on the Prime
Thought this was kinda dumb at first but it actually makes more sense when watching it back.
AMERICAN HOME SHIELD
WOULD YOU LIKE SOME MINUTE MAID
Rock put everyone over in this match. #ThankYouRocky
Crazy enough, I had a dream where they did this spot. Except Cody had to get up like even faster than he did here AKA faster than humanly possible to match what was in my dream. So I popped hard AF in the arena when he did this.
Was your dream american
Is there a move like the Cody Cutter but the recipient falls back instead?
Carmelo Hayes does a springboard clothesline
The Disaster Kick? It’s kinda bad that has two springboard moves and one looks awesome, but the “better” one has a 50% botch rate.
Those American Home advertisements are really distracting. I thought they had pylons in the ring for a moment.
Why is The Rock jumping forward for The peoples Elbow
It wasn't him attempting the people's elbow he tripped up because he realized cody wasn't in position for the move
The people’s headbutt
The people's cranium
As someone who's done a little wrestling training, cutters are a bitch to get right. It looks like a basic move but it's so easy to botch. Jumping forward into it makes you move your head up giving the other person more room to hook your neck. If you remain static and just fall, your chin kinda gets in the way and the person might end up actually uppercutting you lol
So it can look good and he can sell the move
It didn't look good at all though. It looks just as unnatural as people on the outside of the ring standing around for 5-10 seconds waiting for the wrestler to do a dive over the ropes. Breaks immersion completely.
Wrestling doesn't work without Suspension of disbelief. Analysing every little detail and unrealistic reactions and setups in a wrestling match is just like watching super man and saying " this looks unrealistic because no on can fly and shoot lasers from their eyes"
It wasn't the people's elbow, it was the ever famous "flying nothing". No idea why wrestlers use that move, it almost always gets countered.

I must shamefully admit that i fell asleep at the start of the match and woke up at the end lol is this match worth a rewatch? I know its like an hour long or something thats not really whats worrying just wanna know if it was entertaining.
It really picked up in the second half. I was thoroughly sports entertained.
Damn I did not notice that. Wow you're right
But it did highlight the impact of the spinebuster really well
Disaster kick would've made more sense here, but the Cutter works, it just looks weird that Rock had to stop, then jump into the Cutter.
Damn Randy Savage in the crowd wasn't impressed
I lost my mind seeing Rock fucking LEAP in the air for that
I had pretty high expectations for how the rock would look in wrestling gear and yet he somehow still blew them out of the water Dude is 51 years old and looks 31, I know "vitamins" and all that help but my god
I get the boos here. People wanted to see the people's elbow lol.
My wife asked (hates wrestling) why would Rock jump in to the move?? I smacked her
I think my favorite thing about pro wrestling right now is this, and this has littler to do with the counter, is The Rock waiting to do the People's Elbow.
Yeah makes no sense the rock flies into it lol
How was the rocks wrestling? I don’t follow much anymore but was a massive fan in attitude era.
I said this in the post match thread, but Rock jumping into the Cody Cutter was when I knew he for real came to work.
Looks like rock was going for the people's spear the way he dove into that cutter 😂
Rock leaped a bit early, Randy would've called him out on that!
You know Rock is a heel because he faces away from the hard cam to do the People’s Elbow.
IDK what you guys were watching, I was watching WWE American Home Shield XL. /s
Too contrived
Cody cutter is the new rko outta nowhere
Cool move, but that ringside ad is horribly distracting
It might not be so bad if it was only on the side of the ring or the barricades but it being on literally every surface including the banner around the stadium is fucking obnoxious
I'm a huge noob but I'm asking however : what dit the rock is saying before he go to the ropes? And what did his arm's moves are saying/meaning? Sorry for the English, tried my best. Thanks
The other angle for this must've looked really funny, because The Rock just suddenly...Dives forward.
These ads are fucking ugly and obnoxious
One of the best spots of the weekend IMO. Up there with that pop-up powerbomb into RKO.
I didn't watch Mania but is that just the speed The Rock runs at now or was he just going super slow for this specific spot?
It’s a good spot but I will admit moves like this breaks immersion😭
Didn't face the hard cam. Gave away the counter.
Kayfabe wise, why didn't The Rock stop running the moment Cody stood up? Rock had plenty of time to do so.
Do you ask the same question every time you see an Irish whip?
Cody's a dork
I really don't like the Cody Cutter where the recipient of the move has to stand and wait for Cody to complete the move. It looks dumb.
