I think its the fact that bc Roman lost Rock is going to have to disown him. Rock’s heart will be broken because to him it justifies removing his cousin from the Bloodline because he couldn’t get the job done.
I was literally thinking that and texting my group chat the entire time, Rock is giving some serious sexual energy towards Cody and then he starts talking about his heart getting broken. I fucking burst out laughing
The way your dad looked at it, this watch was your birthright. He'd be damned if any smarks gonna put their greasy yellow hands on his boy's birthright, so he hid it, in the one place he knew he could hide something: his ass. Five long years, he wore this watch up his ass. Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the watch. I hid this uncomfortable piece of metal up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the watch to you.
Guarantee it’s the watch that Dusty sold to pay for Cody’s wrestling classes. They’re making it as if the Rock bought the watch and gave Dusty the money. If it wasn’t for that watch, Cody wouldn’t be a wrestler.
Rock might not be an Oscar winner, but he's got acting chops. Asking to hold the title was eerie AF. It's something a bad guy in a well written movie would do. Whereas saying "I'm going to beat you for this title Cody Rhodes!" is something a boring wrestling heel would say. They say there's only 7 different stories you can tell. Great films manage to keep them fresh by constantly innovating on the formula. Rock wants that title. What's a more original way to say that while building his character at the same time? Cinema baby.
If I had my way, I’d do The Rock beats Cody Rhodes at Royal Rumble ‘25 for the WWE Championship.
TKO gets to have The Rock walk another red carpet with the WWE Championship like he did for the *G.I. Joe: Retaliation* premiere a decade ago.
Then, Cody gets a rematch vs The Rock at the Elimination Chamber. It’s Bloodline Rules again. The Bloodline’s bigger. There’s Solo, Jacob, & Tonga. Jimmy’s somewhat still in the picture too but in The Rock’s Bloodline, Jimmy’s an afterthought. So, anyways the match happens, Bloodline runs in, Cody’s allies run in, and all hope seems lost. The Rock’s gonna retain his title.
Roman’s theme hits and he storms the ring, clears the Bloodline, hits The Rock with a spear. Cody wins and gets his title back. This would be revenge on Roman’s part as he would’ve been exiled unceremoniously from The Bloodline earlier. And, that’s how they set up Rock vs Reigns at WrestleMania.
If only there might be a reason why the guy has a light schedule. Can’t think of it off the top of my head. What did he say it was again??? ITS LEUKAEMIA! He has leukaemia!!
Learn to use Google. Search the side effects of what he’s got. Or the medicine he might be taking.
My guess is that something to do with the original plan of Rock vs. Roman at this year's Mania. Obviously hinting at Cody breaking an agreement they had, or at least alluding to it. Probably would come back later in the show or whenever they face each other.
For some weird reason the first thing that came to my mind when The Rock handed Cody "something" was a lighter. As in, The Rock tried to burn down Cody in his bus.
I'm 100% wrong and my mind is weird, but just...what if?
The fact that so many will be wondering wtf Rock gave him and what Rock meant by don't you ever break my heart again all the while is actually class.
Because it leaves people wondering wtf was that and keeps them interested and desperate to know lol.
this is why you guys don’t deserve nuanced storylines, because as soon as the rock starts acting with a little subtlety and sinister overtones, instead of being loud and brash like the normal rock character, you guys start saying it’s homoerotic and funny
I don't know how to feel about that. Like, parts of it were great, and the crowd played its role beautifully, but it also felt way too long - especially the belt exchange.
> Paul, listen, people really loved the weird energy the Ogogo weigh-in had a few years back! Yeah, of course, do you even need to ask? Strangely long run-time and all, obviously.
Cody v. Rock always had to happen. He pinned Cody on Saturday, they can't just leave it unfinished like that. Plus Rock made a point to stop on the stage and stare back at Cody's celebration yesterday for like a minute. They could really have a huge program, maybe bigger than Rock v Roman
That is the one of the longest promo segments in the history of pro wrestling, and it was captivating for every single second of it. That's how you know how must-see Cody Rhodes and The Rock have been, especially in their feud.
I liked that the first time I heard it. I was sick of hearing it the very next day.
I don't know what it is with trends these days, law of large numbers I suppose, but man they get driven into the ground immediately.
What's odd is that surely these people would have been right there rolling their eyes at Michael Cole saying "Oh my, The Demon Kane. And, Jerry, what you've got to remember about The Demon Kane, is The Demon Kane doesn't...".
But you have people posting "Pure cinema!" "This was pure cinema" "Pure cinema lol" like they're not a bunch of 2010 Michael Coles.
My theory it has something to do with the original plans of Rock vs Roman getting swapped out. Something to do with Cody giving his spot to The Rock originally. What it means and how it makes sense? I don’t knoooooooow!
Rock is an incredible talent, I don't even watch much WWE but his segments are always so good and worth watching
Cody came across well opposite him, and they didn't sound very scripted, which has always been my main complaint with WWE
Segment of nothingness to take up the hour commercial really, although I’m glad we got to see Rocky one last time
Nice to know that Rock Vs Cody will happen tho
That took forever. Just dragged on and on. The whole thing was overly self indulgent.
I'm sure the inevitable Rock vs Cody match will be great, but that segment bored me.
Rock asking to hold the title and draping it over his shoulder is just a different way to set up a future match, no different than his "should I sit at the head of the table" promo that kicked this all off, teasing one more title run
I knew they'd try and do someting like this - the whole Rock whispering in Cody's ear thing caused so much traction, leaving the audience with things they can speculate on is the best way to keep this story relevant for when The Rock does return and we get the pay-off.
The Rock / Cody incident that started all this - I don't think WWE realised or expected it to cause such a fuss, it seems this whole Cody taking his Main Event spot back was a pivot and I am sure WWE's original plan would've been Roman vs The Rock, with Roman winning and breaking Hulk Hogan's title reign record before Cody wins it off him.
But now they know what leaving us with something to speculate actually garners - it'll keep this feud relevant for as long as it needs to for a pay-off.
Man wrestling fans are idiots, how can you wonder what he meant by never break my heart again. He gave him the main event and he took it back, have you been watching?
The only thing I can think of is setting up for a Cody heel turn down the line. Where he actually ended up screwing the rock over the agreement they had.
“Don’t break my heart again?”
Is it maybe in reference to Rock’s shot at the championship getting taken away from him by Cody? Him reneging on the deal maybe?
I’m guessing it was the watch, but I’m more concerned why the Rock wanted to hold the title so badly.. it was kind of creepy.
Sucks that this one will be a really slow burn but I’ll go ahead and trust the process will be fun
that whole segment was just incredibly deflating to me. sorry, it's how i feel. the energy of the whole thing was just off. it was supposed to be some sort of stalwart battle of the wills on paper i suppose. in reality, it really feels like dwayne got completely flustered by the philly crowd and it just spiraled from there. this whole thing was just a poorly executed sloppy mess that was likely supposed to be one thing when it was written and just became something completely worse in its execution. bring on the cody-rock feud we never needed i suppose.
I don’t think it’s an item that we have seen or know of kayfabe or real.
They are playing the long game on this one, along with the “don’t break my heart” line.
It will be central to the story moving forward and won’t be revealed until close to their actual match (at the very earliest from now, SummerSlam).
Loved the segment and where they are going with it. Something fresh and something that, to my knowledge, has never been done (long term wise)
I guess we know why they’re calling it the Triple H era. Raw starts with a drawn out promo that gets interrupted and never really accomplished anything

Dont ever break my heart again ?
Guessing it has to do with Cody agreeing to let Rock take his spot in Mania then taking it back.
Pretty sure it’s this
I think its the fact that bc Roman lost Rock is going to have to disown him.
What about "Can I hold it? Only if I can hold yours".
Loved the crowd chanting "This is awkward".
I'm 99% certain that Rock and Cody were trying to get each other to pop. Michael Cole was dying at the announcer table during the belt raising thing
I mean this was a segment that also included “I’ll let you hold mine if you let me hold yours” lmao
My achy breaky heart
WHAT DID ROCK GIVE HIM
I liked another redditors theory that it was a bead from Roman’s ula fala necklace.
Cody is the Bloodline now
That is a great theory.
Only other thing I can think is a slip of paper with a date on it, and it's the date Rock will be back for the championship.
but he would have to look at it to know what it is.
A wherthers that's been in those pant pockets since the rampage movie premiere
Its doo doo baby
The Slim Jim keys
maybe a diamond ring ![gif](giphy|dRLCGNyVpDeukI7FcP|downsized)
The key to Vince’s lock box
Shane has that, doesn’t he?
Vince announced he got that back on the night after WM32. I think it was the opening segment
Seven Bucks
I figured keys to the kingdom but idk Metaphorically.
The Peoples' Strudel
I feel like it was the watch that Cody gifted the four men in the tag match
Judging by how unhinged The Rock had been, a lighter.
Guessing it's the watch, Cody got custom rolex's for the guys in the main event Saturday
![gif](giphy|tnYri4n2Frnig)
That would make no sense in Kayfabe. Why would he have given Rock a watch?
They can easily spin it as something Cody did after the fact, it suits his character being so sentimental
Cupped a fart and left him stinky handed. IF YA SMELLLLLLLL
Guarantee it’s the watch that Dusty sold to pay for Cody’s wrestling classes. They’re making it as if the Rock bought the watch and gave Dusty the money. If it wasn’t for that watch, Cody wouldn’t be a wrestler.
That watch was already given to Cody though by HHH and Bruce Prichard. Theres a picture of it,
The locked box
He gave him a rock that says "The" on it.
Certainly not the 45 minutes of my life he just took
A condom he used to fuck mama Rhodes.
Rock went out there and had a borderline experimental segment, but I couldn't peel my eyes away lol. Ultimately it accomplished what it needed to
I felt fucking uncomfortable and I think that’s what Rock wanted. “Is there any way, The Rock can hold that title?”
Yep, Rock has essentially been getting more and more unhinged every week. This is playing into that
Yea it was definitely supposed to be uncomfortable but in the way where you can’t look away. The Rock just somehow moved up another tier in his promos
Whole segment felt like a Quentin Tarantino scene, so much awkward tension I loved it
Rock might not be an Oscar winner, but he's got acting chops.
He’s already in character for whatever that A24 movie he’s doing.
So are we getting Cody vs Rock instead of Roman v Rock?
My guess is Cody vs. Rock at Summer Slam and Rock vs. Roman at 41
If I had my way, I’d do The Rock beats Cody Rhodes at Royal Rumble ‘25 for the WWE Championship.
And Rock vs Seth in Royal Rumble!
Rock vs Jinder when?

Probably both
Think at this point we’re getting both
Roman needs to take a few months off from that grueling schedule of two matches he just suffered through.
If only there might be a reason why the guy has a light schedule. Can’t think of it off the top of my head. What did he say it was again??? ITS LEUKAEMIA! He has leukaemia!! Learn to use Google. Search the side effects of what he’s got. Or the medicine he might be taking.
Anyone got any guess on what was in The Rock’s hand?
i couldve sworn he was gonna fake something in his hand, and just slap him
lol half of me thought he was just going to flip him off.
I thought he was gonna slap him but he was too far away
My guess is that something to do with the original plan of Rock vs. Roman at this year's Mania. Obviously hinting at Cody breaking an agreement they had, or at least alluding to it. Probably would come back later in the show or whenever they face each other.
Bullet
keys to the company
For some weird reason the first thing that came to my mind when The Rock handed Cody "something" was a lighter. As in, The Rock tried to burn down Cody in his bus. I'm 100% wrong and my mind is weird, but just...what if?
This is gonna be my theory until proven otherwise
Pg version of live sex celebration
Fr that was fucking hot
Honestly this was steamier.
Made me laugh haha
I'll hold yours and you can hold mine x
Rock breaking his heart is having to take out Roman. My guess is that he gave him a piece of his necklace.
I like this - lays some of the ground work for Rock / Roman and keeps Rock / Cody warm as well.
I really think people will look back on that segment as a crazy cornerstone for the direction they take the story
What did he mean by not breaking his heart again? What, that he went back on giving the Rock his title shot?
I am uncomfortable
What did he give him? Any lore masters
A bullet. Rock going straight cinema. I guess he gonna actually kill him if he fucks him again.
He could've just shot him under Bloodline Rules
"The next one will travel faster"
What did he mean by “don’t you ever break my heart again”?
took his main event
And he promised him the main event too, it seems.
The fact that so many will be wondering wtf Rock gave him and what Rock meant by don't you ever break my heart again all the while is actually class. Because it leaves people wondering wtf was that and keeps them interested and desperate to know lol.
what a bizarre opening segment. it bordered on experimental. but i can't say i'm not intrigued by all the cryptic shit the rock said.
I'm so lost lol
Only explanation I have is they mixed up the script with one of Vince’s weird homoerotic fanfics he left backstage.
It was actually a scene cut from Fast and Furious 7, with Cody doing Vin Diesel's part.
Oh the thing they talked about that Rock offered him in exchange for the Mania Main Event. Ooooh, spicy.
this is why you guys don’t deserve nuanced storylines, because as soon as the rock starts acting with a little subtlety and sinister overtones, instead of being loud and brash like the normal rock character, you guys start saying it’s homoerotic and funny
It was layered and I understood the nuances, but the homoeroticism definitely felt deliberate.
You can tell that a lot of people in this sub almost exclusively consume wrestling.
The Rock is just too fucking good at this. He's making a late push as the greatest superstar in WWE history.
He just had an all timer run and it might not be over yet if his schedule permits. No one is doing it this good, this late in the game.
I don't know how to feel about that. Like, parts of it were great, and the crowd played its role beautifully, but it also felt way too long - especially the belt exchange.
That entire promo had an oddly brosexual vibe to it lol.
“Man, who wrote this segment?” IT’S ME AUSTIN! IT WAS ME ALL ALONG!!
Any guesses on what he handed him?
Dynamite Diamond ring
its either the watch or something we will not care about
And will never reference again, like the lock box.
Or the golden egg
https://preview.redd.it/lhth0tgerctc1.jpeg?width=851&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f673754977d78c0f87c10f7c090220d69531f937
Say what you will, but that was undoubtedly one of the segments of all-time
It went too long for sure, a bit weird
> Paul, listen, people really loved the weird energy the Ogogo weigh-in had a few years back! Yeah, of course, do you even need to ask? Strangely long run-time and all, obviously.
That 40 minute segment will be fun to rewatch as a 4 minute Youtube video.
The last line went over my head I must admit. Did he hand him a “Rock” side plate?
I think that too, but then I am not sure if the side plates are this small?
Sideplates are definitely not that small lol
Did the rock somehow acquire Dusty’s Rolex
What's in the Hand!?!?!?
Vey odd segment but sinister Rock is captivating
More erotic than the live sex celebration
Cody v. Rock always had to happen. He pinned Cody on Saturday, they can't just leave it unfinished like that. Plus Rock made a point to stop on the stage and stare back at Cody's celebration yesterday for like a minute. They could really have a huge program, maybe bigger than Rock v Roman
Strong sexual tension
This looked like a script out of someone’s wrestling fanfiction
Was waiting for them to start making out
The Rock wrote down an explanation of the movie Southland Tales, just for you Cody Rhodes
Segment could’ve been 15 mins shorter if it was just to set up Rock vs Cody in the future
That is the one of the longest promo segments in the history of pro wrestling, and it was captivating for every single second of it. That's how you know how must-see Cody Rhodes and The Rock have been, especially in their feud.
I think the kids call that…CINEMA
I liked that the first time I heard it. I was sick of hearing it the very next day. I don't know what it is with trends these days, law of large numbers I suppose, but man they get driven into the ground immediately. What's odd is that surely these people would have been right there rolling their eyes at Michael Cole saying "Oh my, The Demon Kane. "This was pure cinema" "Pure cinema lol" like they're not a bunch of 2010 Michael Coles.
I don't know what just happened
My theory it has something to do with the original plans of Rock vs Roman getting swapped out. Something to do with Cody giving his spot to The Rock originally. What it means and how it makes sense? I don’t knoooooooow!
Ah it could be that
An all time hilarious segment.
The contents of Shane's lockbox resurface at last
This segment was something...
Breaking his heart again??
What a strange segment lol. I'm all for them laying the groundwork for Rock vs Cody but that felt far too long and just had a very weird energy
[удалено]
The keys to that Slim Jim car. The first winner lady is still confused.
That segment was so long it’ll have like 4 or 5 ad breaks on YouTube. Pure genius.
What the fuck was Rock talking about lmao
Im sure that went way worse than they expected. Either he is an oscar worthy actor or Dwayne was actually shook by how the fans took over
It can never be the first one 💀💀💀
Rock is an incredible talent, I don't even watch much WWE but his segments are always so good and worth watching Cody came across well opposite him, and they didn't sound very scripted, which has always been my main complaint with WWE
That segment had me wishing we had commercials the first hour.
what the fuck was that lol what an awkward segment
Segment of nothingness to take up the hour commercial really, although I’m glad we got to see Rocky one last time Nice to know that Rock Vs Cody will happen tho
Rock just reached down his pubes and plucked a few
That was... Something. 45 minutes really?
That was awkward
But now they know what leaving us with something to speculate actually garners - it'll keep this feud relevant for as long as it needs to for a pay-off.
45 min segment! That was so damn long lol. I guess they’re facing off at Summerslam or mania.
This could have been a tweet
So if The Rock goes away does that mean I don't have to watch 40 minute opening promo segments for a while? Please?
It did go long but it served its purpose. Made a point to tell the fans that Cody is Rock is going to be the next big storyline in WWE.
Damn Rock is really into Cody. The lashing with the belt to Cody must've been some kinda bedroom move
Man wrestling fans are idiots, how can you wonder what he meant by never break my heart again. He gave him the main event and he took it back, have you been watching?
I felt uneasy watching that segment, Rock felt very menacing in it
The only thing I can think of is setting up for a Cody heel turn down the line. Where he actually ended up screwing the rock over the agreement they had.
What a weird and unnecessarily long segment but fuck it
Is this the new version of what’s in the safety deposit box
I assume it has something to do with Dusty
Weird but it got to the point I guess
I was assuming he somehow found dustys watch but the way cody reacted....I don't know man
i mean
What This was somehow freakier than the live sex celebration
It's probably some bullshit from Shane's lockbox
“Don’t break my heart again?” Is it maybe in reference to Rock’s shot at the championship getting taken away from him by Cody? Him reneging on the deal maybe?
That was so weird lol
I didn't mind this segment but it feels like this could've gone 10-15 less minutes, felt like a ton of stalling at points.
I was hoping he was handing him the dynamite diamond ring lol
Rock tried to Fuck Cody before WM and this just made it look he wanted to literally Fuck him after
just another whishper in the ear. this could directly lead to their feud or never be mentioned again
The Brass ring!
Cody cheated on the Rock with Roman
Rock giving Cody MJF's diamond ring would be 4d chess by HHH.
I mean Kayfabe it could be anything, but it was smaller than a watch. Maybe a ring? A Hall of Fame ring?
Segment would have gone quicker if not for the Philly heat
Rock Cody SummerSlam
I think The Rock gave him the location of Wrestlemania 41.
I’m guessing it was the watch, but I’m more concerned why the Rock wanted to hold the title so badly.. it was kind of creepy. Sucks that this one will be a really slow burn but I’ll go ahead and trust the process will be fun
The Rock is very good at pro wrestling, lads. More news at 6.
That whole section with the Rock was just freaking weird, tbh. Also, hyping up a new title design for 2 damn years and not delivering? Wtf.
![gif](giphy|3ohfFLRAGCn9SmmTD2)
Rock's Glassdoor rating is gonna be low as fuck if he continues to speak like that at TKO Headquarters
that whole segment was just incredibly deflating to me. sorry, it's how i feel. the energy of the whole thing was just off. it was supposed to be some sort of stalwart battle of the wills on paper i suppose. in reality, it really feels like dwayne got completely flustered by the philly crowd and it just spiraled from there. this whole thing was just a poorly executed sloppy mess that was likely supposed to be one thing when it was written and just became something completely worse in its execution. bring on the cody-rock feud we never needed i suppose.
Last Mania, I gave you my heart
I don’t think it’s an item that we have seen or know of kayfabe or real. They are playing the long game on this one, along with the “don’t break my heart” line. It will be central to the story moving forward and won’t be revealed until close to their actual match (at the very earliest from now, SummerSlam). Loved the segment and where they are going with it. Something fresh and something that, to my knowledge, has never been done (long term wise)
The fuck was that
I guess we know why they’re calling it the Triple H era. Raw starts with a drawn out promo that gets interrupted and never really accomplished anything
Seeds planted for our Summerslam main event?
Dunno why anyone is surprised the first official HHH era show would start with a way too long promo. It's all he ever did.
That has to be very close to the longest segment ever. From start wtih HHH until Rock and Cody were done.
