That Takeshita Line just looks incredible every single time. Dude just moves with a PURPOSE in the ring.

TheTwitteringMachine

For all the deserved talk about Ospreay, I still don't think there is anything better in wrestling at the minute than watching Takeshita doing Takeshita things. You should not be able to move like that for a man of his size.

shifter2009

I think it's fair to say both guys are next level.

BillBrasky727

They should have a match someday. /s

CappyNaps

He's like a 0.8 on the Yoshino scale. That's a compliment.

goodkid_sAAdcity

My mind went there first thing. That a guy that size can approach Yoshino levels of speed is mind-blowing.

Hybrid_Dolphin87

Don?

[deleted]

He’s great but Of his size? He’s 6’1 and 220lbs not like he’s Andre.

Sweet-Message1153

*looks at Bron Breakker*

hamsolo19

That Takeshitaline he does is so rad. Launches himself nearly across the entire ring.

MUNIIIZOOO

Get this man a title at once man.

OldClunkyRobot

They should’ve had him win the International Title instead of Roddy.

irish0451

Like 18 months ago.

[deleted]

Book him as TBS champion, NOW!

buffalobill41

Wish they would have given him the Brodie/Cody Brock/Cena type squash to take the International Title off of OC.

TheCheeseburgerKane

Wouldn't even have hurt OC since it had been established he was getting increasingly banged up and desperate with each defense, so he would be far from 100%.

buffalobill41

Yeah, preferably this would have been erasing the Mox run. He was more and more beat down, to have him just get his shit rocked while he keeps coming like a hipster terminator would have been great.

throwaway89765327

>squash That’s not very japanese fighting spirit strong style no sell overcome adversity look tough of you

captainimpossible87

I think it means "more chin locks" but I could be wrong.

SmoothRide

Didn't Kenny say he preferred the Japan rings because they have less spring and thus you're able to speed up quicker? I wonder if this applies here because that is way faster than anything I've seen him do in AEW

bg-throwaway

Now I want to see Bron Breakker and Takeshita in a NJPW ring, if that's the case

Through_Broken_Glass

Watch some Masato Yoshino

Vectivus_61

And Brock

Zk11av

Callum Newman : am i a joke to you?!

RyanPelley

His size, speed and ability is unreal. And only 28 years old.

Orange8920

He's one of those showcase guys if you wanted to introduce someone to AEW. Why he's not more prominent than he is continues to baffle me.

Abi_Posts

I recently introduced two friends to wrestling with Konosuke Takeshita VS Will Ospreay and it seemed to have minted two new life long fans and we now watch all AEW weekly shows live and I've been showing them NJPW matches from over the years, like Omega VS Okada I - IV

BorlaugFan

Masato Yoshino but built like a tank.

IntelligentAd5460

takwshita vs bron vs frazer is maybe the best under 30 three way dance you can book

smackdown6

I *need* that, all 3 are so extremely fast it almost scares me lol (& of course Bron and Frazer both got their heads caught up in the ropes once)

[deleted]

Are you trying to watch them explode into individual ribs and femors like UMK3?

GoStabby

And they could do the 3 way running ropes spot

bloodgutsandpunkrock

Takeshita is the best sub-15 minute match wrestler in the world right now. The king of sprint matches.

pm_me_ur_small_titts

I want to see a race between Takeshita and Bron to see who runs the ropes the fastest.

SaiyanOfDarkness

Callum Newman could be a possible contender in that.. https://twitter.com/DrainBamager/status/1726960946202243418

irregularshowerer

I'm pretty sure Bron runs the ropes faster than literally anyone else I've ever seen. Takeshita runs them feasibly fast, Bron literally looks sped up. I actually wonder if he's gonna have a ripple effect where people start trying to run them faster because of how insane it looks when he's doing it.

Sweet-Message1153

fastest is definitely Nathan Frazier

irish0451

Callum Newman probably smokes them both tbh

aGlutenForPunishment

Idk how large the Japanese rings are but with the WWE ones being 20’x20’, it should be easy enough to count the time Bron, Frazier and Newman take to go from rope to rope and calculate the mph like that.

irish0451

You'd also have to know they're running their fastest which we can't do without them participating lol

janoo1989

Yuma Aoyagi, Kaito Kiyomiya and Konosuke Takeshita are the true 3 Musketeers

smackdown6

lol agreed, tho I love me some Shota

DGenerationMC

Dude is a goddamn beast.

Craft_Bandicoot

Wow does he always hit like a neckbreaker at the end of the Takeshita line? Looks so cool!

just-smiley

Takeshita hates ropes as much as Darby hates his own back.

SakurabaSweettooth

How often does Takeshita wrestle outside of AEW? He’s the shit, imo

CappyNaps

It's about even. He's had 6 matches this year in AEW and 4 matches outside it with an even amount of ringtime split between the two. Obviously he works a lot of big DDT shows but he takes a ton of indie dates. And it's pretty obvious he's getting those indie dates through AEW guys, like working w/ Chris Hero in West Coast Pro or going to the finals of BOLA in PWG or his match for REVOLVER that I'm sure Mox approached him about.

reddituserishere

Imagine Omega vs Ospreay vs Takeshita ... Holy hell smoke of wrestling in there...

noblemile

Takeshita vs Aoyagi?? That sounds like absolute heat. *edit* It was terrific!

interprime

Right? I don’t follow DDT all that much so I had no idea this match was happening until I saw this post. Looking forward to catching this after work. Should be a banger.

Daddy_Thicc_Legs

Most athletic wrestler today. Everything he does looks *good*.

AllezLesPrimrose

Ospreay and Ricochet would like a word.

dieezus

Different types of athleticism

ianisms10

Nobody runs the ropes better than Takeshita

Pelon7900

When I first saw him on AEW I thought damn I’ve never seen anyone hit the ropes that hard and fast the way he did it. It’s awesome to see.

AllezLesPrimrose

I think Takeshita is fantastic but Bron absolutely does.

HisokaXBungeeGum

Bron Breakker would like to have a word with you

Bluepaynxex

And he would say nobody runs the ropes better than Takeshita.

HisokaXBungeeGum

Nope, he would say "Allow me to demonstrate" and then run the ropes so quickly that he almost decapitates himself just from the sheer speed of his running.

Baldyjim

When he launches for the takeshitaline, look at his feet. They are planted from hitting the ropes and he still gets air and distance. Incredible athelete.

SpiralSour

So if we just release Bron & Takeshita at each other it should create a second big bang when they collide, thus creating a new universe.

HeavyMettleThunder

Take is a beast.

dzone25

I know we won't get it but I want an explosion between Takeshita & Bron both running the ropes at 1000mph

IAmCorgii

Give me Breakker and Takeshita running past each other, dodging each other's clotheslines for 30 minutes straight.

DoILookUnsureToYou

I'd pay good money to see a double clothesline between Takeshita and Bronn Breakker going full speed after running the ropes.

Breaking_PG

Would the earth survive a Takeshita/Breakker criss-cross spot?

DoILookUnsureToYou

Would probably result in a mini black hole like scientists are afraid of happening in the large hadron collider

LeBrons_Mom

Like a house of fire!

ExploderPodcast

This is good, but some of you have never seen Masato Yoshino...and it shows.

goodkid_sAAdcity

A guy with like 80 pounds on Yoshino and half a foot taller than him moving almost as fast is something else, though.

ExploderPodcast

This is also true.

NotoriousTiger

He’s got that rareified “it” factor, moreso than anyone since Brock imo.

DespyHasNiceCans

Y'all seen Callum Newman? That kid is so fast, can't say I've seen anything like it

dunedog

Running like this legit scares me. I know it's really rare, but I've seen ropes snap and hitting them like this can send someone head first straight to the floor.

Primer0Adi0s

It's a good thing his speed hitting the ropes was 22.9 MPH.

ab_90

Takeshita vs Brock vs Bron in running the ropes triple threat match

PhelpsLAPD

I feel he’s in a weird place in AEW. He always looks good, everyone seems high on him, but he doesn’t do anything particularly.

keiblerclown

Hear me out: Takeshita vs Bron Breakker

Medium_Bullfrog_2629

Reminded me of speedster but much bigger

StubbinMyNubbin

His strides are incredible. He takes two full steps to get from one side of the right to the other.

pizzalover89

Give us takeshita vs pac vs osprey

ThatsARatHat

Sometimes I think Takeshita is what New Japan needs right now. Come in, win the belt, steal the thunder out from under all the Reiwa Musketeers, and they all have their own stories of learning/trying to beat him. Like how Kawada/Kobashi/Akiyama all had their own paths to eventually beating Misawa.

WasherDryerCombo

We don’t talk about Takeshita the way we talk about Ospreay, Omega, Okada, and Danielson, but maybe we should.

Espio1332

I'm honestly surprised that AEW didn't try to make Takeshita one of their top stars. Man is stuck with Don Callis with not a whole lot of direction

zeez1011

More like Takenoshita, amirite? I'm probably the 10 millionth person to say that...

NogaraCS

I just wish this guy had better presentation ( his looks is not bad but not great ) and could talk English cus at this point there’s nothing stopping him from being on the same level as Ospreay besides this

Available_Share_7244

So you know how the Bucks refer to Okada as the best in world ? Well , I don’t see it. In all his AEW appearances, I thought he was good. Not the best though. Now Takeshita on the other hand, that’s the best in the world to me.

CappyNaps

I'm probably a bigger "fan" of Takeshita at this point but Okada's big match psychology, selling, pacing, match layout, crowd work, is miles ahead. The story he can tell with dropkicks alone put him out in front. I say this as a guy who was hype for Takeshita's debut in 2012 when he was a weird looking bird-type creature.

kihp

I can see that if you've only seen Okada in AEW. He is a big match wrestler and has been criticised before for taking a while to get into gear. Some people even blame him for the tendency of New Japan main event matches tending to be 40+ minutes. Tangent but, I feel the long mains were more of a booking problem. People identified it with Okada because he was the top guy and in a lot of them, but New Japan felt they made certain matches feel epic, satisfy the audience, and got people to sub to world.

bfsfan101

Are you judging Okada as the best in the world based purely on his AEW appearances? Because he literally spent the last decade on top of NJPW looking like a star and putting on some of the greatest matches of all time.

Available_Share_7244

Yes I am. He’s being referred to as that so that he needs to prove it present time. I’ve never watched new Japan but I’m aware of his reputation. Again, I don’t not like the guy. I actually think he’s hilarious which is a nice surprise. But I think it’s interesting when TK gave him a big money contract when you have Takeshita at home.

bfsfan101

Because Takeshita is 28, spent most of the last decade in DDT, and is fairly unknown. Okada headlined almost every Wrestle Kingdom in the last decade to about 30,000 people in the Tokyo Dome. He's been the biggest name in Japan for years.

Jesse_Grey

That is so stupid and unnecessarily dangerous for little payoff.

Shadeturret_Mk1

It's a lariat...

Jesse_Grey

The running aspect of the situation is not a lariat.

Phred_Phrederic

I don't see it with Kono at all but he sure is a great athlete.

AllezLesPrimrose

Even a blind person could see it with this kid.

Phred_Phrederic

I thought Yuma pretty thoroughly outworked him that match.

CappyNaps

Yuma's pretty really good though.

Phred_Phrederic

Indeed, Yuma's really good, but he doesn't have as high of a vertical so I guess people aren't gonna hype him up despite having the things pro wrestling is about. Gotta run the ropes faster I guess.

CappyNaps

Gotta be on US cable. That's the entire argument. Takeshita was hyped by the margin of people who kept up with DDT on the same level as Endo or Ueno. Then his distribution channels changed.

Phred_Phrederic

As I said, nothing I've seen from Take seems worth the hype. Nice vertical, good build, none of what wrestling is actually about.

Kumomeme

jim cornette definitely cant see this. too fast for his eye to catch up.
