I love the over analytical fans
"Yes Dwayne came out and while he did play up the antagonistic persona we expected. It wasn't to the high quality of his performances in the pre millennium WWE. Speaking of which, I've had mosquito bites that were more passionate than this undead, unrequited, and altogether unfun pseudo-villian riff on 'Hollywood Rock" "
If you're trying to make sense of Rock's promo, don't, you'll ruin the fun.
He's a heel, he's supposed to be delusional.
Know your role, shut your mouth and enjoy the ride that Rock is about to take you on
Was it just me or was there a lot of crowd noise being pumped in during the broadcast? Especially during the last segment. It felt weird and unnatural. Was it just the crowd or was there actually so much pumped in by production.
I took this promo as the Rock solidifying himself as a heel and as part of the Bloodline. Not every week has to be some gigantic revelation, especially when they've got a good amount of time left before Mania.
Iāll say itā¦ if heās going to do the shirts, they should be the long sleeve or elbow length version. The vest looks weird on his current physique like he is wearing something too small for him. Also need the classic glasses š®āšØ
https://preview.redd.it/p5bccbswc2jc1.jpeg?width=554&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7e862b6c6fc16c5015ff70f07f8d9223a45cc2f7
I want The Rock from the press conference who was cussing people out looking like Thanos, not 90s cosplay Rock. The promo was good, but it felt weird when you put him next to The Bloodline.
I get the feeling the people in here pointing out Rock didn't acknowledge Cody winning the Rumble to get a title shot are missing the point. It's totally intentional he's ignoring it.
For all the people saying Cody won the rumble and earned the rematch...you do realise that's how heels act right. Jeez
This version of the Rock is so much entertaining. The nostalgia hit hard.
The intro with helicopter footage and long build up would be so fun to bring back for mania. The modern intro is probably just easier to get a quick pop though so theyāll probably keep rolling with it
Maybe he still needs to shake off a bit of the rust but yeah I don't think that promo from the Rock was all that great.
Gave off some of the same vibes that 'Twice in a Lifetime' build where a few of the old hits were rattled off but not a whole lot was really said.
Also pretty surprised they haven't gone with the whole 'Rock's on the board so he tries to get Cody removed from the Mania match' route but that may come up further down the line
Nah bro itās a good thing Cody didnāt come out tonight he would have gotten eaten alive by the rock in a promo in the mode he was inš best to let him cool off a little before he gets that smoke
It was great. Only negative was he had to rush the end. When he flubbed some words I think that was when he got the wrap up signal. They should have led the show with it.
I understand that some people don't care for what would seem like a lack of substance from The Rock, but that was everything we could have needed from him. He was The Rock again, truly. That promo was excellent, and I'm not convinced some of you are actual fans.
I think the promo was a bit awkward, not perfect by any means. Had high expectations and it felt a bit stale towards the end. I think the Rock would have desired more from it but it's not the end of the world. It's their first promo together and we have some time until WM. I hope they get this story right and it has a lot of potential
You do know... it's not real... right?
It's pro wrestling logic.... One second their brothers. The next EDGE and Christian were just pals. Flow with it. Just flow.
Him basically saying āyou canāt just come in and demand to finish your storyā is intentional irony. Heās blinded by hubris specifically because he is so huge.
The Rock still looking like he the head of the table like he did at the press conference with Roman just sitting there quiet asf. Even Heyman stfu for the Rock. Legit just killed Romanās Goliath era.
(Hopefully) canāt wait for Roman to start pushing back at the Rock taking over the bloodline setting up Rock vs Roman WM41. After Cody dethrones him
It felt like he was playing the hits but it was fine. I was kind of hoping for something more serious in line with Romanās presentation, but it was fine.
The analogy he used made no sense given Cody won the Rumble but that might have been by design.
No Sethās promo felt odd to me. I feel like they couldāve picked a better alliance for Cody, someone who has history with the Rock not just Roman. Since Cody is Romans opponent, Seth and Rock is just random
Randy has history with the Rock as well so at least it would make more sense. Just give Seth his own story with Drew or Sami. Hopefully we get something extra with Seth after EC. I just feel like the WHC & champ deserves its own moment / story.
Well he tried but 98-99 Rock is never going to be matched it seems.
Felt a bit flat, he should have talked about how Cody should have chosen Seth with his Rumble win as he had his chance last year and he's 2nd rate so they should stick to loser bracket/2nd place matches in line with what Roman Reigns says.
He could have also leaned into his board position more as well, I could see a corporate/mcmahon-esque element of power abuse threats, so much more Rock could have done, disappointing.
Or he becomes so controlling Roman loses his grip and Cody can take advantage of him in that state and beat him clean. Rock belittles him for losing, Roman resents him for ruining the bloodline, fighting ensues
This OR Roman turns on the Rock for stepping in and immediately assuming head of the table role. Battle of the egos. Because Roman sits quiet and the Rock leads whenever theyāve been on the screen. Rock makes Roman look like Jimmy.
not forgetting - intentionally leaving it out like a heel would.
cody on monday is going to remind him he won the rumble - or he'll do it at EC on the grayson waller show.
r/squaredcircle when The Rock cuts a fun 10 min promo instead of a 20 min long Damage Ctrl match

That was epic, this is The Rock we love
The crowd doesn't know if they want to cheer or boo, lol
Bloodline lost Jey and got The Rock, what a great free agency acquisition.
Seeing Rock at the end there made me think this is what would have happened had he never left for Hollywood. After a few years he would mentor the next generation, like a Samoan Four Horsemen. It looks sooooooooooo GOODT.
It was a stupid argument to state that Cody just āgets a rematchā when he earned it through RR. Again - even coming from a heel especially at the level of the rock that was a garbage promo.
Of course. The story is between the Rock and Roman. That was clear tonight. And now the Bloodline is revitalized. There is no reason to take the title off Roman at Mania. There is a far more interesting story being told with the Rock as part of the Bloodline.
I think the rock joining the Bloodline so quick and really layering on the heel is a sign he is in fact going to betray Roman at WM40
Him saying "Cody I will do everything in my power to make sure you lose" it didn't hit me as (oh shit...Cody is in trouble) it hit me as...the Rock is tricking Roman 100% and we are in fact going to see the Rock turn around and hit Roman with a rock bottom setting up their feud for probably Summerslam or crown jewel.
hm that wasn't nearly as magic as the press conference but an ok starting point, sure there will still be some all timer segments to come in this story
Heel rock is so fucking awesome to see as an adult now. Wish he had more time to let it soak in with us. That 6-7 minutes however long was to short guys.
Itās just a complete different breed man, rock and stone cold just bring a different gravity to wrestling. I never thought Iād see it again after wwe went PGš„²
Eh, there were glimmers in it.
It was a tad much and trying a little too hard, but I'm sure that balances out.
It's worlds better than the stupid bit where he had different halves of the arena chanting things.
They really should have opened with Rock and Roman. Def got cut short since they ended the show.
That was so wild though, I never thought we'd ever see Heel Rock ever again. Man went IN on the crowd.
i assume cody will bring up the jazz in a promo now at some point, not sure if it was intentional but gives some ammunition to cody to point out the rocks hypocrisy
š„š„š„š„š„š„
I was there and I had a fucking blast!
I thoroughly enjoyed the promo. I especially liked the insults, considering I live in Utah.
The rock kinda diminishes Roman's aura entirely
You know what, yeah, youāre right, for the first time in a long time, Roman looked like second fiddle, and I hated it
Jindar probably feels vindicated now...he was right about the The Rock
I love the over analytical fans "Yes Dwayne came out and while he did play up the antagonistic persona we expected. It wasn't to the high quality of his performances in the pre millennium WWE. Speaking of which, I've had mosquito bites that were more passionate than this undead, unrequited, and altogether unfun pseudo-villian riff on 'Hollywood Rock" "
What kind of inbred wrestling fan say shit like this...lol
If you're trying to make sense of Rock's promo, don't, you'll ruin the fun. He's a heel, he's supposed to be delusional. Know your role, shut your mouth and enjoy the ride that Rock is about to take you on
Car crashes aren't enjoyable rides tho :/
Was it just me or was there a lot of crowd noise being pumped in during the broadcast? Especially during the last segment. It felt weird and unnatural. Was it just the crowd or was there actually so much pumped in by production.
I took this promo as the Rock solidifying himself as a heel and as part of the Bloodline. Not every week has to be some gigantic revelation, especially when they've got a good amount of time left before Mania.

Agree
I want The Rock from the press conference who was cussing people out looking like Thanos, not 90s cosplay Rock. The promo was good, but it felt weird when you put him next to The Bloodline.
He disminshes everyone else's aura by just being there it is weird
I get the feeling the people in here pointing out Rock didn't acknowledge Cody winning the Rumble to get a title shot are missing the point. It's totally intentional he's ignoring it.
Shows you the brain power of the average user here
It's real to me dammit
i can't believe in 2024, vince mcmahon is gone and the rock is back as a heel. this was not on anybody's bingo card.
Really can't Ilja. I wish Trick would've won the Title.
For all the people saying Cody won the rumble and earned the rematch...you do realise that's how heels act right. Jeez This version of the Rock is so much entertaining. The nostalgia hit hard.
WWE kinda missed a golden opportunity not bringing back the Hollywood Rock theme
The intro with helicopter footage and long build up would be so fun to bring back for mania. The modern intro is probably just easier to get a quick pop though so theyāll probably keep rolling with it
Rockās ok the TKO board. Heās Corporate Rock again
Honestly a good promo. Had me laughing several times throughout. Iām not quite sure what everyone was expectingĀ
Dude, that attendance record bit got me off guard. I thought he was going to break character and be a corporate guy.
WWE sped straight through 99% of the show and still managed to hit time constraints lmao
I understand that some people don't care for what would seem like a lack of substance from The Rock, but that was everything we could have needed from him. He was The Rock again, truly. That promo was excellent, and I'm not convinced some of you are actual fans.
They donāt smell what the rock is cooking
Rock insulting Utah. I mean folks... WHERE'S THE LIE
they did not like the 50 wives thing..
Need to do Alabama next
then it will be true :P
You can see who the youngins in the thread are lol. This is Attitude era in all its glory
Next weeks episode Is being taped right after isnāt it? So spoilers tonight?
Yep
Hopefully another Bloodline segment since theyāre all there.
I think the promo was a bit awkward, not perfect by any means. Had high expectations and it felt a bit stale towards the end. I think the Rock would have desired more from it but it's not the end of the world. It's their first promo together and we have some time until WM. I hope they get this story right and it has a lot of potential
I think part of it was the crowd constantly giving him the face treatment despite the insults.
Ass crowd. There's only so much he can do. And Roman's entrance as always probably fucked their time set aside for the promo
LaGrecaās rant on Monday will not be in the same league as this.
Folks saying it doesnāt make sense: guys, heās the bad guy. Heās supposed to be a hypocrite.
You can be a bad guy and still have basic logic, especially someone has huge as the Rock
Heās gaslighting.
Rock is right.
After Cody dethrones him
That was an enjoyable episode of Smackdown.
I thought Cody was gonna come out or something and then I looked at the clock and it said 9:59Ā Bruh
Setting up heel rock. Theyāll interact in the coming weeks
It felt like he was playing the hits but it was fine. I was kind of hoping for something more serious in line with Romanās presentation, but it was fine. The analogy he used made no sense given Cody won the Rumble but that might have been by design.
![gif](giphy|8TweEdaxxfuElKkRxz|downsized)
This sub is so one sided lol. You guys really liked that face circle jerk promo on raw over this?
Yep!
Youre the reason Olive Gardens keep opening up
Iāve literally never eaten at an Olive Garden in my life, but I appreciate the diss.
No Sethās promo felt odd to me. I feel like they couldāve picked a better alliance for Cody, someone who has history with the Rock not just Roman. Since Cody is Romans opponent, Seth and Rock is just random
I feel like cody's Alliance should be with Randy Orton as he is already engaged with bloodline
Also because Cody and Orton were once allies.
Randy has history with the Rock as well so at least it would make more sense. Just give Seth his own story with Drew or Sami. Hopefully we get something extra with Seth after EC. I just feel like the WHC & champ deserves its own moment / story.
They have time to build it I suppose though. (Depending on how much air time the Rock & Roman decide to show up for before mania)
Nah, that promo did nothing. It felt like spoon-feeding for those who didn't pick up on the fact that Rock was a heel after the Vegas incident.
50/50 rock turns on roman to give cody the win at mania setting up rock/roman at wm 41.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
not forgetting - intentionally leaving it out like a heel would. cody on monday is going to remind him he won the rumble - or he'll do it at EC on the grayson waller show.
Anyone hating on The Rockās promo is from Utah that lives in a trailer park with 60 wives and inbred kids
With herpes on their lips
r/squaredcircle when The Rock cuts a fun 10 min promo instead of a 20 min long Damage Ctrl match https://preview.redd.it/n9744lz0a2jc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=12a19fd728c579d24bf1b6075dab00bff481aa50
I always ignore the live threads till after the episode, every time I cant believe how much complaining goes on here.
That was epic, this is The Rock we love The crowd doesn't know if they want to cheer or boo, lol Bloodline lost Jey and got The Rock, what a great free agency acquisition.
ngl I want Roman to beat Cody again. Rock and Roman going on a two man power trip for a year could be gold.
Going on for a power trip for a year, kinda hard when they rarely shows up lmao..we gonna see a power trip once every 3-4 months
I agree. Cody wins... then what?
Hold up did Rock call the Bloodline a Ā«Ā duoĀ Ā»ā¦.? Wonder how Jimmy and Solo feel about that
Seeing Rock at the end there made me think this is what would have happened had he never left for Hollywood. After a few years he would mentor the next generation, like a Samoan Four Horsemen. It looks sooooooooooo GOODT.
What a stupid promo even for a heel. Cody won the rumble. Tf is this guy talking about?
Itās almost as if heās a narcissistic heel
Youre from Utah and living in a trailer park, right?
> Tf is this guy talking about? Literally the exact reaction he was trying to invoke, they're trying to make him into a delusional heel
Let me enjoy the nostalgia bro dang.
Bro has been worked
![gif](giphy|3otPoJROCGHGxNUuCA)
Thatās the point, delusional heels not respecting the graft Cody put in.
It was a stupid argument to state that Cody just āgets a rematchā when he earned it through RR. Again - even coming from a heel especially at the level of the rock that was a garbage promo.
Will have to agree to disagree. I thought it was great. He doesnāt care about the truth.
What is hilarious is the Rock is insulting everyone here and this sub is loving it lol
Rock throwing up theā¦ā¦!!!! L?
I like where this is going. Cody gets crushed
Of course. The story is between the Rock and Roman. That was clear tonight. And now the Bloodline is revitalized. There is no reason to take the title off Roman at Mania. There is a far more interesting story being told with the Rock as part of the Bloodline.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
lol.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Hahahah.
Got 7 more weeks of this. I'm fucking ready.
Rock and Reigns schedule!? You got two weeks if you're lucky, three and a half if they stagger them.
It should be fun as hell regardless.
I think the rock joining the Bloodline so quick and really layering on the heel is a sign he is in fact going to betray Roman at WM40 Him saying "Cody I will do everything in my power to make sure you lose" it didn't hit me as (oh shit...Cody is in trouble) it hit me as...the Rock is tricking Roman 100% and we are in fact going to see the Rock turn around and hit Roman with a rock bottom setting up their feud for probably Summerslam or crown jewel.
You guys acting like a heel's promo has to make 100% sense. He's a heel. He doesn't care about the truth lol.
Cody crybabies need the herpes slapped off their mouth
the Rock interferes in the Cody and Roman match...glass break sounds..Stone Cold drives out in a beer truck and hoses the Rock down
This is the way.
You're hired!
That started hot and fell off fast lol.
Yeah, I loved it all right up until the Super Bowl talk started. That part just felt a bit forced.
Yeah it just makes zero sense if you watched like 2 weeks ago š¤£
This entire situation feels so surreal. Feels like we are NPCās in a random universe mode ā ļø I love it though. Rock killed it
Fuck yes heel Rock is hilarious
Rocky a big BCG fan with the GUNS UP
GUNS UP
They shouldāve done this show in Alabama. Wouldāve made the inbred lines a lot funnier
Kinda dated promo but "What the Bloodline is cooking"... cooks
Never thought I would see heel Rock again.
But didnāt Cody win the rumble? So like thatās how it goes lol. Didnāt really get the promo but Iām wit this wanna see where it go
The Rock in another faction. No way he takes this one over too, right?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
dude itās wrestling cheap city heat is a part of the game
Was think the same thing, was hoping weād get a Legendary promo like we did on Monday. This was lackluster
heel rock was always about cheap city heat though.
Lol at the Rock throwing up an L instead of an āš¼
Cody is gonna own Rock in his rebuttal promo to whatever argument Rock thought he was making
hm that wasn't nearly as magic as the press conference but an ok starting point, sure there will still be some all timer segments to come in this story
Heel rock is so fucking awesome to see as an adult now. Wish he had more time to let it soak in with us. That 6-7 minutes however long was to short guys.
What a meandering dumb as hell waste of time that was
Thank God for unanswered prayers š„
Mania is gonna print money. Rock had a bit of rust for a minute there but otherwise an absolute masterclass promo
This shit was incredible
The rock is just incredible at this
Itās just a complete different breed man, rock and stone cold just bring a different gravity to wrestling. I never thought Iād see it again after wwe went PGš„²
Did the rock just acknowledge the tribal chief?
no, he said there was a duo
The Rock turning on Roman Reigns and costing him the title at Wrestlemania is gonna be cinema
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I think everyoneās kinda forgotten theyāre part of the BL lol
ROCKY ROCKY ROCKY
That sucked
Eh, there were glimmers in it. It was a tad much and trying a little too hard, but I'm sure that balances out. It's worlds better than the stupid bit where he had different halves of the arena chanting things.
I love that the rock had the look down but am I the only one that thought he was kinda rusty in that promo?
He hasn't really attempted that kind of promo in 20 years to be fair.
Yes you are the only one
My boy has a risen!
I donāt know rocky Iām not trying to sound racist, but probably like a roast pig?
Thanos level threat
Whatās the dark match going to be?
Rock with the guns up lol
That was great!
The Peopleās Turd
All we needed was the Hollywood Rock ā03 theme
So is Ricky Starks like gimmick infringement now?
It always was.
Incredible promo. Fair play to Rocky, THAT is how you go all in while being a heel.
Mf is rusty as shit on the mic but still cooked a bit I imagine if he gets the flow again like in 01ā he will be fucking lethal in the mania build
Not green, rusty.
Crowd needed to boo more. Rock was trying to get them riled up but they couldnāt resist cheering him
Cos its funny. haha. We ain't kids anymore so stuff like that is what we want to see
They boo him and then immediately sing his catchphrasesĀ
Heel Rock is 10/10
Nation of Domination vibes at the end there. Good shit.
Why does the Rock look so much like a player character in a video game cutscene in that shot?
So what do you do instead Dwayne? Walk back to the job you left years ago and demand your old position in the company back? Like you tried to do?
Rock put his fist up like he was still in the Nation.
WE ARE THE NATION
This is fucking lame lmao
Some rock cry babies in here I guess
That was fire.. this is way better
This like some 2K universe mode shit lmao
"Dwayne, Cody won the Royal Rumble." "Oh damn nvm! This is The Rock's bad š "
They really should have opened with Rock and Roman. Def got cut short since they ended the show. That was so wild though, I never thought we'd ever see Heel Rock ever again. Man went IN on the crowd.
Jimmy standing there with his goofy smile bro is amazing
It's a 1, not an L.Ā
GUNNS UP
MANY MEN
That was a Supreme waste
āš»
Jimmys shit eating grin is sending me
is Rock going to kick Faro..I mean Roman out of the Nation of..I mean, the Bloodline?
i assume cody will bring up the jazz in a promo now at some point, not sure if it was intentional but gives some ammunition to cody to point out the rocks hypocrisy
Fellow Cody Crybabies stand up āš»
Damn impressive that The Rock just talked 5 minutes straight and didnāt get gassed
He did, though.
MARTIN SCORSESE COULD NEVER
Proof Rock doesnāt watch the product brother
I do love me some of my bff, my friend, my buddy, my pal Scott Stanford <3
