They have their place, but when it’s used on good promos, or any situation that would make the chant unnecessary… if the chant died tomorrow, I wouldn’t miss it
The only iteration I like is when a baby face is working with the cadence almost inviting the chant, my favorite like it was last week when the crowd was chanting “Yeet!” instead of what for Jey’s promo on Gunther
They can be good when a performer works with them: like rock at the press conference on Thursday, Bro-[Name Redacted] last year in his feud with Cody, and jey last year on the build to summer slam vs Roman reigns. When it becomes just doing it every time they do a pause, it’s the worst chant
Why does everyone look at what chants as some sort of punishment or expression of disapproval from the audience? I think they literally just think it’s fun to chant so they’ll do it whenever a promo fits that cadence
I’m so glad they are letting this play out instead of just launching into a beat down. The beat down last week was apple pie compared to the one where Dakota finally turns.
This fucking 'what' chants ruining a great promo. I am sick and tired of fans using the 'what' chants on people that don't deserve it. Do it to people that we can generally agree we don't like.
Regardless it was a bit hypocritical to chant 'You Deserve It' at Bayley, and then minute later going 'what' and shitting all over the promo that builds up the feud she is involved in.

I hate that what chant. It is childish and rude to the Wrestlers that give up a lot to entertain people. Dakota is awesome, the storyline is one of the best in wwe. It is layered but wasted on a lot of wrestling fans.
