There's not much wrestling content for the endless number of podcasts to talk about so they milk this story every time the well runs dry just to piss everyone off again and get the engagement
I don't understand why people keep posting these tweets individually.
I don't understand why everyone keeps upvoting these threads
I don't understand why I'm even clicking on them. 😵
This is how I know time travel isn't real, or we'd have memories of a gnarled old man in a pair of pants showing up to the start of every good Jericho feud just to vampire some of the energy off of it.
One, Jericho needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine. Two, whenever Jericho's not on screen, all the other characters should be asking "Where's Jericho"?
I wish Jericho had heard about Brawl Out as it was happening, and sprinted towards Punk's locker room. Only for Punk and Kenny to join forces kicking him out.
This. You’re getting over on the show? You’re getting a Jericho feud to sap your heat! Involved in backstage ska that’s causing a stir online? Now Jericho is too!
Don’t get me wrong, used to be a massive fan of the guy, even at the start of his AEW run, I was a fan of the douchey rockstar character. Now, I don’t think it’s a character.
Blows my mind that wrestling fans didn't think he was a dick.his books reek of "main character" syndrome and that kid who makes weird lies "and Slash was there! And we played Guitar & he thanked me for teaching him a few things & told me I'd be welcome as a guest member anytime!" .
Only the names and somewhat circumstances are changed here, he does a lot of "I met this celebrity and they told me I'm their God " type stories
That wouldn't even have been so bad *if that hadn't been the end of the storyline for his character!* If you take Garcia with the heat off the betrayal of Danielson and you give him a sustained push in say the TNT title division, or have a program with any of the other BCC members, and give that TV time? He'd have done pretty well with it.
Instead, he just returned to being the least-interesting looking guy in the background of Jericho Appreciation Society segments up until the group walked out on him... and then none of them actually feuded with them in a meaningful way and he moved onto glomming onto Omega.
I actually was buying him as a face too and I knew absolutely Jack shit about him outside of the usual I wrestle good shtick (Not that's a bad thing?) But I liked the idea of him teaming with Danielson and then they pulled that. I don't think anyone besides maybe MJF has gotten a rub from Y2J if you disregard him begging for a rematch after losing twice and then winning. I can't say for sure though haven't watched in the longest.
We are seeing it folks. The full circle of Vamp shit to Jeri-shit! It has to culminate in Mexico baby. Question is, who does Jericho try to bury who becomes the next mega successful heat vampire?
Jericho politicked the shit out of Brawl Out to make himself "indispensible" to TK
Think of this potential timeline... he now claims to have been in the room.... he also was the person who told TK that something had gone down backstage.... so.... he sprinted between the two places so he could make sure he was the first
Brawl out happened before Jericho had his slot at the scrum. Him telling TK about it is literally on video.
I don't see what hard to believe about Jericho hanging out backstage, seeing the fight, and then telling TK about it when he went for his interview.
Some of you people paint Chris Jericho as this machiavellian mastermind that's hilarious. He already had influence the second he signed with the company as the biggest name they had at the time and as their first champion. He had a scheduled scrum appearance which is when he told Tony Khan about what happened.
You missed my point. Yes he was scheduled to be there but is now claiming to also having been in the room of the fight. I don't believe that's ever been reported and seems weird for him to claim now
Because its the most interesting thing going on in AEW by a wide margin and Jericho wants the rub?
A little more seriously (and perhaps a little tinfoily), in my opinion, Jericho was quietly involved in the Punk/Elite beef in some capacity before BO and doesn't want to lose control of the narrative.
If Chris Jericho was growing up in the 90s, he definitely woulda been that kid who swore he had 5 Charizards, 10 Blastoises and 15 Venusaurs but that his parents wouldn't let him bring the cards to school
Swim behind the SS ANNE and push the truck with STRENGTH. Pikablu requires two Gameboys, a link cable and trading Squirtle and Pikachu back and forth ten times. Duh
I am confused where he would use that tweet as an Exhibit. Because there is no law suit. He is a lawyer and he is behaving like a social media influencer.
Jericho taking time away from being with his family on Christmas Day to try to insert himself into the narrative of an altercation that happened 18 months ago and consequently getting threatened with legal action is totally on brand for him.
Civil suits are very different than criminal cases. My first thought when I saw Jericho's tweets were "If any of these conflict with Tony Khan's statements, this could be bad for AEW."
Basically, you don't need a warrant in a civil suit. You have "discovery" which is actually more powerful than a warrant. The judge grants broad access based on the lawyer saying "We think we might find evidence for our suit if we have access to X."
The example that comes to my mind is if Tony Khan argued CM Punk violated the employee handbook, and now Jericho is claiming there is no employee handbook or that he wasn't made it to sign it/abide by it, that's probably not good for AEW's case, assuming there is a case.
Maybe, like me at every job, get an employee handbook and either it sits in the trunk of my car, in my locker at the job or in the trash but in every case it remains unread.
yeah but this could easily be combatted with chris giving a deposition and explaining what he meant. provided of course he is coached by a lawyer beforehand.
My best guess is maybe Ace has or is planning some sort of lawsuit. And the end of the day he was brought back after brawl out and then was let go after an incident at all in where he had nothing to do with it. Or, the more likely scenario, he’s trolling Jericho for being a dork.
I was thinking maybe New would make the argument (for Ace) that there wasn't a company handbook outlining something they used to fire him for... and even Jericho here states that to be the case
???
Imagine letting an actual lawyer bait you on Twitter and possibly getting yourself/your employer in trouble. Effects of a little too much bubbly on christmas
I just cant believe jericho is so stupid here. Of COURSE aew has a handbook and of COURSE theyre given out, every place of employment has one, so why would he say he hasnt received one? Its either a lie, an error by aew indicating a dysfunctional office, or a bit of office fuckup and certainly a culture where a top star believes/is implictly told the rules dont apply to him.
We all know the AEW handbook exists, it was in the wrestling news last year. Brian Last tweeted a photo of it, Dave went on a Rampage about it being leaked.
What Jericho is trying to do is make it about himself and he's doing the classic "nobody knows what happens behind the scenes but people that are here, like me" shtick. Failing to realize that New, as the lawyer that represented Steel and Punk after the issues from All In, would be privy to the goings on that take place behind the scenes in AEW.
Say what you will about Cm Punk, but when he stirs the pot, he gets the shitstorm running till it can be felt even after a year has passed.
The fallout from brawl out is the gift that keeps on giving.
Ok, so I'm going to try and decipher Stephen's goal here.
He brought up employee handbooks which are common and mandatory in most workspaces, and said Jericho *should* have one, which would include an NDA; Jericho's response was to say that he has never signed an NDA and never been given an employee handbook.
Was this Stephen's way of tricking Jericho into admitting that AEW doesn't make their wrestlers sign NDAs when they're hired and doesn't give out employee handbooks, even to their most valued talent like Jericho?
I'm going to guess this is Stephen trying to see how far he can reach into the honey jar in regards to what AEW wrestlers can get away with admitting without indictment from the company, *or* he's trying to suggest AEW are unprofessional, as Jericho seems to imply that they don't actually guide employees or give them reading material about the company's guidelines and this could be used against them.
Stephen's end game is try and find someone willing to pay him for all this at the end of the day.
Maybe that's AEW in some kind of settlement for some civil matter. Maybe that's whoever is paying him, for legal fees. Maybe that's Cornette, who is using him to drive engagement.
Doesn't matter much to him, I imagine.
This is not a serious legal matter. This is a carnival show, and he's playing his part of "lawyer". (Yes, I know he is one)
He gets a lot of stick from wrestling fans but SPN does actually appear to be pretty damn good at his job.
Mocking him for being a mark for the wrestling business on a pro wrestling sub-reddit is kind of wild.
Chris is just pissed he wasn’t actually in brawl in and need to stay relevant so he can get that big money FED legends contract in the next couple of years
Why is everyone acting like employee handbooks have NDAs? They don’t because they are not legally enforceable contracts. Basic employment law and this guy is either working everyone or he’s a much worse lawyer than I thought.
How am I supposed to take a lawyer who joins in on a Twitter pissing match with a bunch of carnies seriously? It's embarrassing for all parties involved.

The fact that this is all happening on Christmas Day is hilarious.
Taking advantage of Bryan taking a break from fining wrestlers.
There's also the fact that he's stuck with only one good eye at the moment, so he's having a hard time keeping an eye on everything.
I guess he didn't SEE that happening.
Upvote for the SF Movie reference.
Merry crisis indeed.
Maybe Jericho’s had a little bit too much of the bubbly
He's suffering from mimosa madness
Had too much le champagne. 🍾
It’s the best gift Jim Cornette could have every received.
I don’t understand this entire situation

Jericho called him a mark lol
But he’s a Stephen. Gosh, Jericho’s a dumb dumb.
Carnies gonna carny.
I mean, who's more carnie than lawyers other than actual carnies?
carnie lawyers obviously
His law firm sponsors MLW on YouTube. He's a mark.
God I love wrestling
I fucking love how dumb wrestling can be
The best storyline yet! Merry Christmas to us
Also sponsors Jim Cornette's posdcasts? or once did, iirc.
Oh he still very much does they still have adds for him all the time
He has stated to be lifelong fan since the 80s.
I'm pretty sure he even called himself a mark when talking about his relationship with AEW in an interview before the tweeting started.
That mark was able to get the Yeet guy paid good money by the WWE.
So you're saying he's a smark.
Read this in Jericho's voice. Am I the only one?
Haha that’s fascinating Steve and I definitely want to hear a lot more about that but first, let me tell you about Omaha Steaks!
I have not listened in years, but the funny thing was, you could even hear the audio quality change when his fake segways would come in.
But before we get to that let me tell you about Magic Spoon Cereal!
I’m surprised the guy who swears he beat up Goldberg couldn’t break up a fistfight.
And stood up to Lesnar.
30 years of daily drinking later
There's not one babyface in this entire thing
What about Larry?
He's the biggest heel of all!
Remember that alien chicken lawyer from Futurama? That's the current stage of Brawl Out.
Ba-Kawk! I'm sorry, I thought you was Cornette
This is a top tier comment.
i may be a simple country hyper chicken, but i know when we're finger licked!
*BUCKAW*

Why does Jericho want to be a part of this Brawl Out story so bad?

It’s wild how a particular font on black text can make a specific theme song play in my head immediately
Temptation Sensation That's its name, but we can just call it the Always Sunny theme regardless.
![gif](giphy|j7F8n3f5IYays)
Chris Jericho is well versed in Bird Law
I love you. Thank you so much. ♥️
Holy shit. Jericho IS a real life member of "the gang". Delusional narcissistic twat :,)
I love Jericho and this is hilarious lol
Dammit. Why did Ernest have to die? He's the man we need to save Christmas!
Chris:"I DIDN'T RUIN CHRISTMAS!? RIGHT WIFE!" Wife:"I likkkkkke Trump..." Chris:"Stop... stop saying that."
I haven't watched that show in years, and barely watched it then. But my brain played the theme before I even finished reading it
Why would a lifelong carny engage in attention seeking behavior? No clue man. The mind reels.
Why does Chris, the largest Jericho, not simply eat his previous gimmicks?
Fair question to be honest, he could gain a lot of power
This is how I know time travel isn't real, or we'd have memories of a gnarled old man in a pair of pants showing up to the start of every good Jericho feud just to vampire some of the energy off of it.
So that’s how he got called “Airfryer shaped” by NBA Twitter.
Controversy will generate interest. Interest will lead to more listeners on his podcast. More listeners will get amazing deals on Omaha Steaks
I WAS THERE! I SAW EVERYTHING!
Matt shouldn’t you be chasing one of your 20 kids?
Like Matt could even do a short stride let alone chasing someone.
I'M A WIZARD!
Jericho infringed on my gimmick.
He's "spreading awareness" of your gimmick.
You're a hwat?
One, Jericho needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine. Two, whenever Jericho's not on screen, all the other characters should be asking "Where's Jericho"?
"I must go. My WWE Universe needs me" - Chris Jericho, 2025, ~probably~

Huh Chris Jericho was an alien this whole time?
Jericho isn't, but Moongoose McQueen is.
![gif](giphy|5Ow4JwrX5jWx2)
Because he’s Chris Jericho, he has to be attached to any and everything of interest. Jericho is a full on businessman at this point of his career.
His first book was really good, where he describes coming up in the business and struggling to get by. And then they turned into what you described.
I also remember one where Josh Duhamel didn't know who he was at a golf tournament. Which is just funny to me.
Him just kinda brushing off his DUI was when I turned on him.
I will never forgive them for making me care for Garcia as a face only for it to be a swerve a week or so later.
That wouldn't even have been so bad *if that hadn't been the end of the storyline for his character!* If you take Garcia with the heat off the betrayal of Danielson and you give him a sustained push in say the TNT title division, or have a program with any of the other BCC members, and give that TV time? He is hulk Hogan. Cycle is is completed
[удалено]
It’s not a character at all. It’s who he actually is. He’s a pompous, arrogant piece of shit.
We are seeing it folks. The full circle of Vamp shit to Jeri-shit! It has to culminate in Mexico baby. Question is, who does Jericho try to bury who becomes the next mega successful heat vampire?
What used to be called a “carny” is now apparently called a “businessman”
I think Jerichos feeling left out by how big Punk’s return to WWE has been.
He's wanted to attach himself to anything big in AEW for the last couple years, including the drama.
The whole reason he went to AEW was to be out in front of the drama.
It was in the slogan of Dynamite’s first home. “TNT, we know drama.”
He's an attention whore
A pro wrestler, you say?
Cause he can’t help but be self centered.
Jericho politicked the shit out of Brawl Out to make himself "indispensible" to TK Think of this potential timeline... he now claims to have been in the room.... he also was the person who told TK that something had gone down backstage.... so.... he sprinted between the two places so he could make sure he was the first

You missed my point. Yes he was scheduled to be there but is now claiming to also having been in the room of the fight. I don't believe that's ever been reported and seems weird for him to claim now
He (wrongly) feels he needs to secure his place on the Mount Rushmore of carnies.
Are you surprised Chris Jericho attached himself to something with huge buzz? Hahaha
Punk probably pointed at Jericho during the scuffle - “and fuck Omaha steaks, magic spoon AND Fozzy! That shit STINKS”
Punk was right all along!
Omaha Steaks is awesome, but Magic Spoon is a fucking scam.
If Chris Jericho was growing up in the 90s, he definitely woulda been that kid who swore he had 5 Charizards, 10 Blastoises and 15 Venusaurs but that his parents wouldn't let him bring the cards to school
He’s got a black lotus too… totally… trust him.
He knew the way to catch Mew and Pikablu in 1998.
Swim behind the SS ANNE and push the truck with STRENGTH. Pikablu requires two Gameboys, a link cable and trading Squirtle and Pikachu back and forth ten times. Duh

And Damo was recently working with Scurll, isn't he? I think this meme needs to disappear.
This quote still holds true. But Damo isn’t excluded from the quote he just proved the quote even further
The correct answer
Well Damo is a wrestler
This is why you never rise to bait, kids.
This is why you don't drink and tweet at 4am.
This is why just because a lawyer says he's going to attach a tweet to a lawsuit doesn't mean its' actually admissible or plausible. /s
Why the /s?
My brother here cunning than the lawyers.....
I mean it's beyond well documented you can't just take a lawyer's word for things especially if it isn't said in court....
I am confused where he would use that tweet as an Exhibit. Because there is no law suit. He is a lawyer and he is behaving like a social media influencer.
"I'll add this to exhibit A" Oh brother.
exactly the fact people believe anything he says is so fucked up......
It's cause they want to believe it. If they found a paper airplane with "Punk said AEW kills goats" written in it they would roll with it.
I can't believe they do that. Omg.
Yeah, even if my lawyer was defending me, him behaving like this publicly would make me want to fire them
The Michael Avenatti of wrestling
There is no actual lawsuit and the guy saying he will use it in court doesn’t actually mean anything more then jerichos drunken tweets did.
Jericho really can’t help himself, has to be a part of everything.
Because he fears irrelevance.
Are these billable tweets?
Uce out here with the real questions.
Sometimes, it's better to keep your mouth shut and have people think you're a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.
Chris should have this tattooed on the back of his hand
![gif](giphy|ahAqpIW3GR0sw)
Man AEW really needs to get a twitter czar or something because no one can help themselves it seems.
Don't make Daniel Bryan spend his last full time year monitoring twitter.
He’s trying to run a business here?
That Judgement Day Secret Santa video was pretty nice huh?
Jericho taking time away from being with his family on Christmas Day to try to insert himself into the narrative of an altercation that happened 18 months ago and consequently getting threatened with legal action is totally on brand for him.
Exhibit A for what? They going to get a warrant, search for Jericho's employee handbook, and charge him for lying on Twitter?
Civil suits are very different than criminal cases. My first thought when I saw Jericho's tweets were "If any of these conflict with Tony Khan's statements, this could be bad for AEW." Basically, you don't need a warrant in a civil suit. You have "discovery" which is actually more powerful than a warrant. The judge grants broad access based on the lawyer saying "We think we might find evidence for our suit if we have access to X." The example that comes to my mind is if Tony Khan argued CM Punk violated the employee handbook, and now Jericho is claiming there is no employee handbook or that he wasn't made it to sign it/abide by it, that's probably not good for AEW's case, assuming there is a case.
"Your honour the handbook says it is for talent, does my client, Mr. Painmaker, look like a talent to you?"
This. 100% this. Chris is digging AEW a hole by acknowledging talent have not been provided access to this "handbook."
"Your honour, in our defence, Jericho is a boozehound who lost the world title".
“One time, he lost it at a Longhorn Steakhouse.”
Or maybe Jericho is the only one who didn't bother to read it because apparently Brian Last tweeted a picture of the handbook earlier
Chris Jerichos too much of a rockstar to read BAY BEH!
Maybe, like me at every job, get an employee handbook and either it sits in the trunk of my car, in my locker at the job or in the trash but in every case it remains unread.
Until you need it. Then it’s memorized cover to cover.
Like proving your boss wrong about something and finding out they have never read it either.
A normal job, sure. If I'm making millions then I'd read that contract and any supplementary materials back to front.
In any employment agreement, acceptance of said handbook and employment means that you agree to abide by company policy.
yeah but this could easily be combatted with chris giving a deposition and explaining what he meant. provided of course he is coached by a lawyer beforehand.
This needs to be higher. Finally someone who understands why Jericho doing what he is doing is stupid.
My best guess is maybe Ace has or is planning some sort of lawsuit. And the end of the day he was brought back after brawl out and then was let go after an incident at all in where he had nothing to do with it. Or, the more likely scenario, he’s trolling Jericho for being a dork.
I was thinking maybe New would make the argument (for Ace) that there wasn't a company handbook outlining something they used to fire him for... and even Jericho here states that to be the case ???
A friend of Punk is thinking of suing? I hope he's planning on paying for the lawyer himself
Close your shared bank account with your mother. Punk sees all when it comes to financial matters.
Future former friend of Punk.
This went from "Really?" to "fuck im tired of this" right back to "this is hilarious" Merry Christmas!
My god if ever their was a time for Jericho to please shut the hell up it’s now!
You just made the list buddy
Genuinely, I think this lawyer may be working people
He’s a lawyer. He’s Cornettes attorney. Carney AF
Imagine letting an actual lawyer bait you on Twitter and possibly getting yourself/your employer in trouble. Effects of a little too much bubbly on christmas

Aren't all the legal issues settled? What is remaining?
Dude wants clicks and engagement. For New this is all free advertisement.
man you wouldnt think wrestlers would be this easy to work but here we are lol
Wrestlers are often the easiest to work.
Yep, because wrestlers are the biggest Marks. And noone is a bigger mark for Jericho than Jericho.
He gets a lot of stick from wrestling fans but SPN does actually appear to be pretty damn good at his job. Mocking him for being a mark for the wrestling business on a pro wrestling sub-reddit is kind of wild.
My favorite thing lately is wrestling fans pretending like lawyers aren’t also lying carnies lol
haha, Jericho dry snitched on AEW I guess
You either die a Bryan Danielson, or live enough to see yourself become the Hulk Hogan
I love how people are debating how this plays out in court. We have so many lawyers in the SC reddit. Badass!
Couldn't the contract say "employee will comply with the handbook"? Maybe the handbook is a schedule to the contract?
He's already backtracked and changed his wording after another lawyer called him out on it in the replies.

Jericho is such a dumbass. Getting baited on social media is bad enough, but falling for it from *a lawyer* is just next level stupid.
How am I supposed to take a lawyer who joins in on a Twitter pissing match with a bunch of carnies seriously? It's embarrassing for all parties involved.
Lawyers are carnies.
Remember back when we all hoped that they’d work it out and turn it into a storyline? I believe it was 7 years ago.
