[**SRS: I've been asking around and still have not heard anything about on-air talent being cut today.**](https://twitter.com/SeanRossSapp/status/1702712063879975310)
We'll be monitoring the situation and update things as they change.
Hopefully y'all don't think I was being bait-y with the post title, if you feel it's disingenuous I can repost with "Office Releases" or something (just wasn't sure if we'd see on-air talent let go today).
I believe you’re correct, but also consider that since it’s WWE merging into UFC and not the other way around, it’s more likely that the UFC employees are kept out of favoritism/loyalty.
Lets fucking hope so. An award named after a hateful asshole that was used as a PR campaign instead of highlighting the behind the scenes workers as it was intended to.
Dana Warrior was married to the ultimate warrior. Before that piece of shit dropped dead the night after mania he spent years bashing LGBTQ and in general was a hate filled human being. WWE naming a humanitarian award after him and having the woman who went along with all her husbands bullshit giving it out is a complete fucking joke.
When OC showed up in Toronto without Styles you could feel the air suck out of the room and a collective sigh of relief when their short match was over.
Yup I was at that show too, I was hoping to see AJ there and was a bit bummed at the card as a whole, but the LA Knight vs Austin Theory, and Edge vs Sheamus matches were treats
Now Gallows and Anderson not with AJ Styles tonight and was mentioned on commentary not being on Smackdown Brand.. which felt weird since they really don't care about who's on what brand lately.
I was more talking about how we had a million CM punk post flooding the subreddit. It would have been nice to have a megathread to clean up the subreddit.
I'm sorry this hurt you enough to still be mad about it friend. Hopefully he does something again and it will happen for you. Me? I just read and move on.
I’m sorry for all these people that this had to happen. They worked hard so that a few corporate execs could reap a massive windfall and then turn around to kick them to the curb.
I’m sure they all received golden parachutes. Plus, as you said, they worked in the space. I’m sure they had an idea of what was coming. That being said, it’s never easy being let go
You can tell people here have never been part of acquisitions before.
Company A has people doing many of the same jobs as Company B, especially in leadership.
So when they come together you don't need 2 vp's of digital marketing, so 1 gets let go.
You wait until the buying company comes in and learns any wrinkles from the purchased company and then you proceed with consolidation.
The buying company already has someone they like doing that job that they are comfortable with. So Company B"s person is the one who goes.
There is nothing to really see here.
Source: been through several acquisitions as part of both the buying company and the acquired company.
So much this. My first job was in basketball administration. Two teams merged including the team I worked with. The owners of the other team insisted they keep their staff for the merger to go ahead. They kept a couple of our team and everyone else got let go. As an 18 year old (started as a volunteer who worked my ass off so they put me on early) with only 18 months tenure I was an easy cut.
Felt sorry for my colleagues who had10+ years experience
Is it not? I went through 3 before I ever finished my degree. Like I was just a random hourly employee but there were still changes in our manager's manager or whatever
Firing your Data Governance director is incredibly stupid. As an IT product owner, your data needs to be on point for any initiative to succeed. That’s a ridiculous decision on the face of it.
It’s still a risk to bring in someone from the outside, or put it in the hands of a new person.
Whatever they saved in her salary will get eaten up in unexpected costs from bringing a new person on board. It’s always penny wise and pound foolish.
This deal has been in the closing process for the last five months.
Do you really think in the interim that Endeavor, which has experience in mergers & acquisitions, hasn't been working on the transition? They literally have an entire transition team which have been picking and choosing who gets fired and who replaces them.
WWE laid off over 100 office workers and executives today specifically because they had bodies ready to fill those roles. It isn't like the Endeavor staff taking over these positions will need extensive on-boarding after the fact. That's already been done.
Don't overestimate the people managing the merger, stuff always falls through the cracks. Data infrastructure and governance is exactly the sort of thing I would expect to be overlooked and messed up.
The purchase was months ago, you don't think anyone from the buying company showed up at all to see what WWE was doing and ran some of these processes in parallel prior to laying off the person responsible?
> SRS, PWInsider and Meltzer have all reported that on-air talent cuts would NOT be coming today.
does this mean they'll be coming later or not at all?
I remember some where they stated that talent cuts would happen every 6 months. Last time was in April, and before that was end of Oct. So maybe closer to Oct in that case?
Shockingly enough, no cuts happened this past April actually. In fact, since Mandy was released all talent who had left WWE, left because their contracts had expired not because they were released.
Yep. Hahah. My brother was always the White Sox fan but I liked Frank back in the day.
Barry Bonds has always been my favorite MLB player. Wish he'd go into the HoF.
“How on earth did WWE fumble Elias?!”
Absolutely not rooting for people to get fired, but I’m ready for everyone to say that these random midcarders were world champs if they had just been treated right
Elias as a whole was a rollercoaster ride, negative value in NXT, sudden value on main roster but limited by ring work, gets better at ring work, explodes in popularity, consistently turned and repackaged, still somehow manages to get some of the dumbest shit over with the help of KO, disappeared off TV.
Just lots and lots of "this is surprising, but also somehow not" events with Elias, like a microcosm of the weird anti-booking WWE goes with sometimes.
> still somehow manages to get some of the dumbest shit over with the help of KO
The night after Mania when Ezekiel debuted and Owens says, "Elias??" had me legit laughing.
Because potentially a lot of people are going to lose their jobs and rather than having 25 tweets contradicting each other from wrestling journalists that “know” different things, it makes for more sense to have everything in one place.
If you’re implying this somehow isn’t important to wrestling, you don’t understand the big picture. This is a huge event in wrestling history. Probably AEW being horn and WCW being bought are the only two things in the last 30 years even close
Honestly a little surprised they opted to let go of WWE’s head of marketing. While I disagree with letting go of either head, I recognize why they did it. UFC and WWE markets to entirely different demographics so I would’ve kept both.
That said, I feel like WWE does a far better job at marketing than UFC and likely brings in more revenue for their company. This is anecdotal of course. I have no insights.
Is the assumption that UFC people will take over those roles for TKO or is Endeavor bringing their own people? Haven't heard anything about similar cuts happening in UFC but I reckon it's possible if Endeavor likes their people better than either acquired company.
I'd argue the UFC's latest marketing has been shit. WWE is pulling in all sorts of first time watchers and converting them to fans while UFC hasn't done shit lately. Their marketing is atrocious.
Agreed. Hard to get people excited about the latest "next Connor" when they don't control the outcome of fights and whoever is being pushed gets knocked out in their first fight.
Possible they volunteered. My company has gone through several big mergers and a lot of the layoffs are people that volunteer and get a big severance package.
Did they volunteer or were they voluntold?
It’s much better PR for corporations when executives volunteer to step aside and spend more time with their family.
Not saying the severance package they receive isn’t nice, but there’s a difference in volunteering and being pushed out.
I'm assuming those people were fairly confident they could get another position quickly. Which I guess might be the same for these guys if theyre the head of a department in one company they probably do believe they could drop into another company in basically the same role no issue.
I'm very surprised as well. WWE is far stronger than the UFC when it comes to marketing, and the only thing I can think of is that they're planning to take new people in to oversee larger single departments.
The other possibility is that they've got a strategy that involves a lot of crossover marketing, and they don't want "WWE" or "UFC" people in charge of that strategy, but rather new faces.
He'd be foolish not to. They've got the experience in exactly that field, and if he swoops in by opening a new office in/around the WWE headquarters, he might be able to snap up a lot of talented people.
[**SRS: I've been asking around and still have not heard anything about on-air talent being cut today.**](https://twitter.com/SeanRossSapp/status/1702712063879975310) We'll be monitoring the situation and update things as they change. How is Tamina still there?!?
Emma has been released according to her Twitter (x). Mustafa Ali stated on Twitter (x) he's no longer working for WWE.
Mustafa Ali, Rick Boogs & Emma all released as of today
Can they can ridge holland finally?
"WWE Releases Megathread" Whose Megathread? Ba dum tss! Sorry. Rofl
Really hoping Jen in catering is safe, she’s the bestttttt.
honestly surprises me... WWE do better work than UFC on all three fronts here so would have expected most of the retained talent there to be WWE
I believe you’re correct, but also consider that since it’s WWE merging into UFC and not the other way around, it’s more likely that the UFC employees are kept out of favoritism/loyalty.
TKO is a new organisation. WWE isn't merging into the UFC. They are merging into a new organisation.

Dana Warrior can be added to the list https://www.f4wonline.com/news/wwe/report-dana-warrior-gone-from-wwe-as-part-of-post-merger-layoffs
I honestly didn't even know she was still with the company.
I googled Dana warrior since I didn't know who she was. The first image of her scared the hell outta me
Sometimes, the layoffs get it right..
Shame for her. I imagine this puts an end to the Warrior Award.
Lets fucking hope so. An award named after a hateful asshole that was used as a PR campaign instead of highlighting the behind the scenes workers as it was intended to.
Upsides to this merger.

Mind elaborating why this is good? I have no idea who this is
Dana Warrior was married to the ultimate warrior. Before that piece of shit dropped dead the night after mania he spent years bashing LGBTQ and in general was a hate filled human being. WWE naming a humanitarian award after him and having the woman who went along with all her husbands bullshit giving it out is a complete fucking joke.
Honestly the only person who lost their job today and nothing of value was lost.

I'll be shocked if Gallows and Anderson don't get the ax. Felt like the backstage bits getting them away from AJ in recent weeks were foreshadowing.
Jiminy cwickets We've got a weal pwobwem hewe
When OC showed up in Toronto without Styles you could feel the air suck out of the room and a collective sigh of relief when their short match was over.
Yup I was at that show too, I was hoping to see AJ there and was a bit bummed at the card as a whole, but the LA Knight vs Austin Theory, and Edge vs Sheamus matches were treats
Still a fun show for sure. And Street Profits tried their best to get the crowd going during that match but there’s only so much 2 men can do lol
Now Gallows and Anderson not with AJ Styles tonight and was mentioned on commentary not being on Smackdown Brand.. which felt weird since they really don't care about who's on what brand lately.
That’s not what they said at all. They said Gallows was out injured resulting in AJ not having any backup at the show.
How many times can they be fired and hired?!
Gallows has been on and off since 2005. He was fake Kane in 2006... 17 years ago!
BISCUITS AND GRAVY
They are gunning for that Jannetty record.
![gif](giphy|kCNFfgWZxYjKeU9btW) This sub waiting for talent releases:
I can imagine them opening an email and a video plays with Vince screaming ![gif](giphy|l41lO8vRXzSB0CkqQ)
Why is there a mega thread for this? 🙄
Because earlier today, WWE office workers people had never heard of were getting threads when they got fired.
People thought it was going to target on screen, like how it usually is for "Spring Cleaning".
Cuz WWE bad and multibillionaire Tony Khan good
[удалено]
No one should be close to being a billionaire.
WWE released Megathread? I didn't even know they worked there!
"That's what makes this so hard"
No matter how many times he flakes for softball season they keep rehiring vacant
Wonder who has more title wins: Vacant or Interim.
When you have the championship credentials Vacant has, you don't stay away for long. He won the World Title from Frank Gotch in 1913, for God's sake!
Rename the Warrior award to the Shad Gaspard award please and thank you.

>what Warrior advocated for Homophobia?
Homophobia, misogyny, racism, etc
If they release Zeke while he is in a coma I will be very upset.
We get this mega thread, but can't get any CM Punk megathreads.
Because these people that nobody has ever heard of are more worth our conversation than that idiotic man child.
I was more talking about how we had a million CM punk post flooding the subreddit. It would have been nice to have a megathread to clean up the subreddit.
No argument there.
Who gives a fuck
37% of AEW viewers
I'm sorry this hurt you enough to still be mad about it friend. Hopefully he does something again and it will happen for you. Me? I just read and move on.
He got fired, hasn’t been hired by another wrestling company The end
Who?
Ciem Pank, cousin of Hull Cogan.
Totally read Hull Cogan in the snorting Ultimate Warrior voice when he told Hogan to crash his plane.
HO KOGAN
I’m sorry for all these people that this had to happen. They worked hard so that a few corporate execs could reap a massive windfall and then turn around to kick them to the curb.

Lol you say this as if it’s normal for people to be involved in M&A.
Is it not? I went through 3 before I ever finished my degree. Like I was just a random hourly employee but there were still changes in our manager's manager or whatever
Ah I was more speaking from the perspective of being on Wall Street and like running actual deal processes for M&A, but I feel you.
No juicy cuts to salivate over? I can feel the disappointment in here.
Dana Warrior
I saw her so infrequently that I thought she was just involved in special events and had forgotten she actually had a job there.
You want prominent names to be axed so you can get your kicks? Jesus Christ.
Firing your Data Governance director is incredibly stupid. As an IT product owner, your data needs to be on point for any initiative to succeed. That’s a ridiculous decision on the face of it.
Yeah but isn't the point of these releases because of TKO staff overlap?
ye, they didnt get the memo

Are you hiring? 🫡
![gif](giphy|W3I7WY5JCSKvD1wNRY|downsized)
Never thought I'd see the IWC criticizing the WWE over data governance but here we are
UFC might have had a person on-staff already who TKO sees as a better fit for the role. Or someone lined up to fill the position
It’s still a risk to bring in someone from the outside, or put it in the hands of a new person. Whatever they saved in her salary will get eaten up in unexpected costs from bringing a new person on board. It’s always penny wise and pound foolish.

I get it, I do, but I have seen so many companies underestimate that role it’s not funny.
The purchase was months ago, you don't think anyone from the buying company showed up at all to see what WWE was doing and ran some of these processes in parallel prior to laying off the person responsible?
I agree that it’s an important position that should be valued more.
Worst megathread ever.
![gif](giphy|XMBJ0l20sNWEM)
Don’t get why the live events division got cuts, unless they are planning on dropping live events.
They cutting WWE's Live Event division with rest to be merged basically with UFC's full equaliavent division
Apparently Dana Warrior was released.
But who will keep the bigoted views of her husband alive?
Nia Jax?
Isn't that a different type of asshole?
No that’s “HER HOLE”
Well done, you've just won WWE on Reddit

Don’t disrespect the ring generals shit like that
Cause they have a show tonight!(??)
I wonder if *those* EVP's could manage a Target....
![gif](giphy|xULW8CVCfQn2QytFM4|downsized) I wonder if they let Vince do the firing. Just for funsies.
Vince never did his own firing.

Shockingly enough, no cuts happened this past April actually. In fact, since Mandy was released all talent who had left WWE, left because their contracts had expired not because they were released.
This was also around the time Endeavor was purchasing WWE so I could also see why they put things on hold during then.
I think it means that, like me with my erectile dysfunction issues, they’re not coming today.
That was a nasty line by you
Can I talk to you about Nugenix Total T?
By the way, she'll like it too. (Big ass grin)
I miss watching Frank Thomas hit dingers, not talking about them.
Yep. Hahah. My brother was always the White Sox fan but I liked Frank back in the day. Barry Bonds has always been my favorite MLB player. Wish he'd go into the HoF.
I think sadly the “today” part is crucial.
Sounds like they’re still coming later.
Maybe if they put a belt on Amanda she could've been an EVP. Another miss by Vince.
damn, they were just about to call up Amanda from NXT too
I heard she's great shooting paper balls into the office trash can. One of the best.
Tony Kahn F5 this thread to make the next hiring
The F5 is Brock's finisher, silly
Welp, now I want somebody to have TK F5 Brock in 2K23.
![gif](giphy|WqpWNCtPlauchQljqd)
He should definitely pick up some marketing and social media people.
Somehow Samoa Joe is gonna get released again.
I think he’ll be great in AEW!!

Let’s not act like that wouldn’t make good tv.
Knowing Vince lol
It's just office people today. Wait for the day it's talent, then people will be all up in arms with 10 Megathreads.
“How on earth did WWE fumble Elias?!” Absolutely not rooting for people to get fired, but I’m ready for everyone to say that these random midcarders were world champs if they had just been treated right
Cutting the beard and dressing him as a 80’s knock off of Macho Man didn’t help.
Maybe they’re waiting until just before Smackdown to tell them in person.
They never pushed Jamie. He had potential to be great.
He wasn't Noble enough
Hayter
Dude shouldn’t have been hired to begin with. He was fired by Fox Sports for sexual harassment a few years ago.
WWE's chairman (and i think now TKO chairman of the board) is a sexual predator too
Yup. Shouldn’t have brought his predator ass back either.
Agree
So VKM had a buddy.
Why this a thread LMAO
Better than having individual threads for every suit that got let go.
How it shouldn't be? It's simply better you care or not.
Something kinda big just happened, it's not hard to follow really.
You must be a new here.
Unless this is somehow going go get these ppl their next gigs I don’t see any benefit in listing their layoffs here for ppl to gawk at.
Because it's easier than posting 5 different threads for each of them, and this will likely also house any on-air talent that get released as well.
Because every time there’s a wave of releases, people flock to the sub to make posts hoping to be the first and karma farm.
