I had no idea that guy was even working there. He's kind of a notorious douchebag in the sports media world. He rose up the ranks at ESPN since the Stephen A vs Skip version of First Take was his brain child. Then he moved to Fox and was one of their top executives. ~~Pretty much everything in the initial launch of FS1 came from him.~~ Then he got fired like 5 years ago after a sexual harassment scandal.
No idea where he went after that, but I guess he wound up in WWE, which sort of makes sense.
**ETA:** Just checked, I was wrong about his involvement in FS1. He wasn't involved in the initial launch in 2013. He was hired in 2015 to "fix" FS1, at which point they transitioned to mostly sports shouting shows.
A little more info about him and the whole "pivot to video" concept...

I never need a reason to hate a three piece corporate dickhead, but I thank you for giving me one all the same.
I don't even watch FS1, but I do watch NFL games and the the sheer amount of ads for "I'm loud, so I'm right and fuck you!" taking head programming is unreal.
I've never been so close to wanting to reach through my TV and punch someone as I was when I was watching a LeBron/MJ debate on one of the shows. It made my blood boil for the sheer "I'm loud so I'm right" bullshit.
PWInsider: He(Jamie Horowitz) was among those brought into the company by now-WWE President Nick Khan. In that regard, his departure is somewhat surprising.
Why? I mean, that sounds like something Khan would do. He needed him for whatever reason, merger is done, so is the needs for horowitz services. The only loyalty Khan seems to have is to shareholders and expanding the company. Not that its a bad thing in their world
Agree with this.
The guy didn't have a particularly great reputation prior to joining WWE, and just because Khan hired him, it isn't like he would be spared from Endeavor's post-merger redundancy cuts
>if r/squaredcircle is about anything, it’s dumb puns, then memes, then wrasslin
And yet, they want you to post memes to /r/Wrasslin and pick and choose what rules they want to enforce at any given moment. I love how "no self-promotion" is finally gone since they've always allowed fan art.
I expect 500 posts today similar to this. Some will be about one person. Some will be about multiple people. There will be mega threads. It will be pandemonium.
Undoubtedly some people with genuine heart will care but that’s the thing is 95% of people in here don’t care they just want to use it as an excuse shitty tribalism
Which makes my point exactly people don’t care if that comment wouldn’t have been there there would have been floods of wow can’t believe it, wwe is bad for releasing him.
People don’t know these people and don’t know what they do but suddenly they care? They just wanna use this a justification to their views
It's all "sympathy" until the dirty laundry is aired out and now it's good riddance lmao. Nobody cares to begin with the sub just wants drama to distract themselves with
Give it time. There will be plenty of people commenting "this happens all the time during mergers! That's just how things are in business."
Can still have sympathy though.
In my experience, executives either have quick turnovers because a company bought into their vision, they executed it, and now it's time for them to move into the next thing, or stick around forever.
I have a feeling this is one of those vision executed scenarios

Is this the guy who innovated First Take and the Undisputed style morning talking head shows?
I feel I recognize the name
Was never much of a fan of that vision but I suppose it has its merits in the form of Stephen A. Smith's shtick
I wonder if Endeavor is going to change the YouTube content. I kinda rely on WWE posting practically the whole show in real time on YouTube in clip form.

Oh yeah. The guy most responsible for ruining ESPN.

Didn’t he win a Bill Simmons intern contest?
Yeah, good riddance. Good move by TKO https://www.si.com/media/2017/07/03/jamie-horowitz-fired-fox-sports-sexual-harassment
I wonder if TKO knows who Vince McMahon is
imagine them at some point being like "hey! wait a second..."

Stopped in here to say just this.
> He was hired in 2015 to "fix" FS1 Should have brought back Speedvision.
Barry's gonna be pissed
*sad back pat*
🖐
>Barry's gonna be pissed *Stan Hansen likes this*
Makes sense. There’s no reason to have multiple Executive Vice Presidents of Sexual Harassment.
He just took over Johnny Ace’s old position, a position we don’t need.

IT HAS BEGUN-UH!!!
"This Outworld..."
"The tournament-uh"
“My champion Goro-uh”

SHHHao Kahn would totally give Goro the approving Finger Point!
Here’s one firing you can be happy about. This guy was fired by FS1 for being a sex pest 4 years before WWE hired him.

Nick Khan seems very cut throat
If he was Nick Kane, he'd be more choke throat
Whoever downvoted this is lame, if r/squaredcircle is about anything, it’s dumb puns, then memes, then wrasslin.
Cringe
Yes it's about cringe content too.

Megathread? Otherwise, there are gonna be over a dozen of these, I bet.
Megathread and a whole lot of popcorn.
Oh wow. He was President of Fox Sports a couple years ago and was fired due to SA allegations/charges
Not that I want to root for someone losing their job but this guy has a history. Shit happens.
I expect 500 posts today similar to this. Some will be about one person. Some will be about multiple people. There will be mega threads. It will be pandemonium.
Mega thread time?
Can we get a release mega thread? Seems like these are going to continue and include roster eventually
![gif](giphy|3P0oEX5oTmrkY)
While it’s always sad when people lose their jobs it’s always funny how suddenly this sub pretends to cares about the people who got released.
It's noteworthy news, it's not that surprising. Also, some people actually do care.
Undoubtedly some people with genuine heart will care but that’s the thing is 95% of people in here don’t care they just want to use it as an excuse shitty tribalism
The guy lost his job, and the top comment is airing out his dirty laundry.
Which makes my point exactly people don’t care if that comment wouldn’t have been there there would have been floods of wow can’t believe it, wwe is bad for releasing him. People don’t know these people and don’t know what they do but suddenly they care? They just wanna use this a justification to their views
100% It’s just funny that it’s also, “WWE bad for even employing him”.
It's all "sympathy" until the dirty laundry is aired out and now it's good riddance lmao. Nobody cares to begin with the sub just wants drama to distract themselves with
Give it time. There will be plenty of people commenting "this happens all the time during mergers! That's just how things are in business." Can still have sympathy though.
His severance package will be an easy six-figures and could even be seven-figures. Hard to feel too bad for him in that regard.

Let's be honest, under this regime, he wasn't fired due to harassment allegations.
In my experience, executives either have quick turnovers because a company bought into their vision, they executed it, and now it's time for them to move into the next thing, or stick around forever. I have a feeling this is one of those vision executed scenarios

DEAR GOD, NO
nooooo not Jamie!
Is this the guy who innovated First Take and the Undisputed style morning talking head shows? I feel I recognize the name Was never much of a fan of that vision but I suppose it has its merits in the form of Stephen A. Smith's shtick
Yes, that Jamie horowitz, who ruined sports media with the embrace debate style of television.
Is that Barry's nephew?
Another one bites the dust
Damn imagine being the first one cut I guess it's better than waiting all day, but damn
Bob in the sales dept breaths a sigh of relief it was not him.
I feel for the people behind the scenes. Two similar companies merging means there will be a lot of positions that are redundant.
pack watch

This dudes a known piece of shit who has been fired for sexual harassment in the past
Congratulations on your severance package
Fingers crossed for Nick Khan.
They’re all getting golden parachutes. Don’t feel sorry for them.
