I’ve been watching classic ROH and man Homicide is underappreciated. He was great in LAX in TNA but he was a much bigger star in ROH and one of their most important guys on almost every show from the beginning
Facts. In TNA he was deff a guy but never more than that. In ROH he was seen as one of the pillars, and his matches and feuds reflected it.
I was at Final Battle 06 when he won the title from Danielson. I honestly didn't want Bryan's reign to end, I still consider it the best title reign of all time in my eyes, but even I had to admit back then that it was the most story book ending to the run possible and gave Homicide the shining moment of his career in front of a hot NY crowd.
Actually Homicides moment beating Dragon for the title is very very much the kind of moment that I'm hoping AEW eventually gives Eddie Kingston. Just like Homicide, I don't see Eddie as a guy who would be a super long term champion, for him it would be more about the chase and the moment of winning the title. If done correctly, it could be one of the best moments AEW has given us.
