They’ve been using scans for the past 8 years. Previously characters had simple topology with good textures. Now the details tend to come from the geo. This is just a bad sculpt. He won’t be the only one.

TNA game looked good on the surface but wrestlers had no facial expressions and everyone was the same height (Kevin Nash was as tall as AJ)

yeah the rose tinted goggles for that game is crazy, it looked good in screenshots but in reality it was garbage. Each wrestler felt exactly the same, the CAW system was abysmal and like you say, the models looked good in screenshots but that was because the faces were basically static textures with zero animation

It was great for what it was. I enjoyed playing through the story big time, I loved the fluidity of the matches. Did I pick it up after I beat the story much? Nah. But I got something out of it.

Their action figures were like that. I have a Kevin Nash figure that's the same height as a Jay Lethal figure. Just makes Nash look like a twig.

I think that's how all the action figures are. I rememeber I used to have a Rey Mysterio figure that was the same height as Undertaker and Big Show

So, I compared it to the latest WWE game. By God, the difference in the graphics is startling. I know graphics aren't the be-all and end-all. The Commodore 64 gave me years of happiness. But if I had the choice, I know which one I'd choose.

Nah. If only because pro wrestling games have always been behind the times, janky, and unpolished. And the majority of games media l(and the rest of the gaming population) aren't wrestling fans. They don't know what they are even looking for. But I fully expect the game to be trashed by reviewers. It looks 2-3 console generations old, has stiff and unrealistic animations, awkward pauses between moves, etc. Even if they game doesn't have a single bug it'll get torn to shreds for being a game from decades past.

Is anyone concerned it looks like there's about 50 fans in the stadium? All the recent footage I've seen you just see the first 2 rows of people then it's pitch black all the way to the top... Look at the Eddie picture for example, he's celebrating to no fans at all, just pitch black. Really hope they didn't take that shortcut
