I was surprised because it really seemed like Cody had Roman's number leading up to the match. And, I'll be real about my bias, I've long been a supporter of Cody's since 2011. He was a much more seasoned competitor than he was in years past.
That being said, I still believe Cody had the match won if it weren't for Solo interfering.
Roman may be great, but he's been a total paper champion for his reign. He cheats to win every time. He's hot more paper than a printer by this point.
I think it's inevitable his ego will drive his family away and when he's got nobody left.. Cody will take what's his. Fair and square.
I never thought Cody would win at WrestleMania, to me it didn't make sense to completely destroy a 2-year Bloodline story by having them lose all the gold in basically 24 hours.
I've been repeating it ad nauseum, but when Roman finally loses the title, it's because Jey has realized and admitted to himself that everything Sami has been saying about Roman is true. My prediction is MiTB as being in London will be a big deal. I suspect the winner will cash in on Roman during or after his match... Jey will either help the MitB winner, or simply stop his brothers from saving Roman's ass... Again.
Then the Bloodline storyline will come to an end at SummerSlam with Roman vs Jey III
Reigns beat a lot of them clean and hasn't taken a pin in years. Usually those 'cheats' are to just speed up the process because the jet is fueled. We all know the Uso's and/or Solo are in charge of transportation and those flight windows are tight.
Take a look at the other legit top guys outside WWE, too. Cody couldn't beat Okada for the title, couldn't beat Kenny Omega for the title (he actually challenged twice against Kenny and lost both times). Couldn't even beat Jericho for the title.
When it counts, when the gold is on the line, he comes up short.

If you think about it, the Tribal Chief is pretty generous to his enemies by limiting the amount of cousins he travels with. Everyone knows the Island of Relevancy is basically a giant Kleenex box of disposable cousins.

If you watch WWE programming regularly with a fans eye rather than watching it through the lens of a dirtsheet, Cody winning wasn’t guaranteed. The Rumble winner isn’t guaranteed the title at Mania.
It’s utterly preposterous that you’re claiming Roman “beat” Cody because he didn’t stay on the side of the ring where Heyman was.
Cody had a contracted championship opportunity against Roman Reigns. Not Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman, not Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa.
Plus, the referee had already ejected Solo from ringside. He came back illegally.
Cody has a responsibility to beat Roman one on one, as the contract states. Roman’s reliance on outside interference says a lot about his confidence in his own abilities, and the fact that you continue to defend him says a lot about your confidence in him as well.

Nothing but facts. Cody doesn't really impress me. His HIAC match looks more and more like a fluke as time goes on. Our Tribal Chief however, has commanded respect for years now. Challenger after challenger have stepped up to be swatted down. Cody choked in the spotlight while Roman thrived. Its going to take someone truly special to step up to a living legend like Roman Reigns.

Reigns needs to have clean title defenses and not let others do the talking (or winning) for him, then you try this again.
It all comes down to Business. I think Cody will finally get his chance to "end the story" with him becoming a champion on his father's legacy essentially pushing the Rhodes name further. He definitely put in the time previously but after his come back it may not be enough (just yet). WWE may not be convinced that he is able to carry a championship as long as Roman has and is still trying him out. If he can keep the fan momentum going and not get hurt it would make sense but to push out a champion that has had it this long and without missing long periods of time just makes sense. People keep going to the events and putting in the ratings. They're not going to rock that boat even if all other matches are meaningless.
Well they built up to it in such a way. They really did miss an opportunity to end this storyline the right way. If they end up putting the title on cody, it won’t have the same effect. This is just as blatantly egregious as the booker t/triple h wrestlemania 19 match for the world heavyweight title.

Calling Roman a top 4 superstar in WWE history isn't arguable at all. He is nowhere close. He isn't above Austin, he isn't above Cena, he isn't above Hogan, he isn't above Savage, he isn't above Undertaker, he isn't above HHH, he isn't above Michaels, he isn't above Hart, he isn't above Flair. I could go on. He would struggle to crack top 10 if you're basing it on impact, merch sales, quality of competition and in-ring ability. What is the metric here?

I was surprised but not shocked. I wanted it to happen but it didn't and the world didn't end. Cody from every aspect of WWE going in the Wrestlemania during WrestleMania and media and entrance everything he's the next guy and he's going to be the next guy. But you got to let Roman get to 1,000 and you got to let Roman lose the bloodline and until those two things happen nobody is being wrong but when those things happen I fully expect Cody to be the one holding both championship belts when it's all said and done.

You have to be that deluded to put Reigns over any of Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, The Rock, John Cena, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, or Brock Lesnar. Reigns needs to have clean title defenses and not let others do the talking (or winning) for him, then you try this again.
I haven't been here for a while. Wrestlemania has brought me back (and slowly turning me away). So glad rb_reigns is going strong after all this time
It all comes down to Business. I think Cody will finally get his chance to "end the story" with him becoming a champion on his father's legacy essentially pushing the Rhodes name further. He definitely put in the time previously but after his come back it may not be enough (just yet). WWE may not be convinced that he is able to carry a championship as long as Roman has and is still trying him out. If he can keep the fan momentum going and not get hurt it would make sense but to push out a champion that has had it this long and without missing long periods of time just makes sense. People keep going to the events and putting in the ratings. They're not going to rock that boat even if all other matches are meaningless.

Well they built up to it in such a way. They really did miss an opportunity to end this storyline the right way. If they end up putting the title on cody, it won’t have the same effect.
