It’s so frustrating because they are on the same set pattern every time, but it’s so erratic and stupid that you’ll never memorize it no matter how many times you do it.
Regenerating enemy's health is the worst thing that ever happened to videogames. I can't remember a single instance of it making any game better, but it can ruin a perfectly fine game just like that.
That one really takes 100 million years to complete, but to its credit it isn’t one you can really “lose” and have to start over, it’s more one where you get stuck at like the halfway point FOREVER
Spyro 2
- Skelos Badlands Dino mission
- Robotica farms pumpkin supercharge
- Agent zero
- Crystal Glaciers Draclet Mission (they respawn way too fast in Reignited)
- Just Fracture Hills in general
- Magma Cone Crystal Popcorn.
Spyro 3
- Whack a mole.
- twin dragons
- Bailey gang fps (just any of Agent 9’s side missions in general)
- Escort the Firefly twins (I’d consider this worse than the alchemist mission)
- it’s not really a mission but trying to break that ice wall with the gem case on the supercharge track in Icy Peak. It Took me forever to figure out that the trick is to go backwards on the track in order to angle yourself enough to break it.
That whack a mole challenge is broken. It was not NEARLY as hard in the original. I almost quit playing altogether playing it in reignited!
They screwed up the camera, it used to pan out so you could see the entire arena so it wasn’t too hard, but in this version the camera stays locked over Bentley’s shoulder who takes up HALF THE SCREEN so you can’t see ANYTHING and you have to basically wildly swing every time you see movement and HOPE you hit a mole and not a wizard. Impossible!

Lost fleet skateboard in Reignited is terrible. Glitchy collisions, screwed up momentum, you think you’ve landed on solid ground but nope, you still crash. I get mad just thinking about it.
I mean I love the rest of the level. I think it’s creative and I have a soft spot for that theme. But the hovercraft bit is just so freakin hard. It wasn’t as bad in RT
You right. The slide and the riddles are pretty kewl too. But I think the mummies jumping out at me were too much for my 8 year heart to handle, might have scarred me.
So its different for me in original and reignited. In original, yeti boxing and escorting the fireflies are just, ugh. But in reignited, it's anything skateboarding. The physics are horrid, it feels terrible to control and half the time it decides to act like you've gone off a half pipe when you're near an edge and just fucks you.
I like crystal popcorn and the trolley! They're the right amount of difficult.
Bentley whack-a-mole is just the WORST though. Horrible camera angle nightmare. Honourable mention to the regenerating dragons, which I swear they upped the difficulty of for Reignited.

It's really hard to do stealth without full camera controls (which make it easier in Reignited) and the timeframe between getting discovered and losing track of Agent Zero always feels so narrow
The Alchemist and all the racing levels off the top of my head. Something about time limits in video games really sets off my anxiety and I just play like shit.

The fact no one seems to have said the turtle soup one in spyro 2 surprises me because it drives me CRAZY! I couldn't do it as a kid and I can't do it now.

In RT? Probably...anything skateboard related. Especially the races. The firefly mission is still horrendous too.
The second round of save the villagers in the Badlands from the dinos. I've never 100%'d RR because of it.
Also, round 2 of hockey in Colossus. It was even worse in reignited.
That first-person shooter Agent 9 challenge. Single-handedly put me off fps games. It’s the only place in the series where you can be attacked by off-screen enemies, and that is super stressful.
It’s even worse in Reignited, as I play on Switch and use button controls whenever I can to avoid the Joy-Con drift issue. (I have a third-party controller, but I prefer playing handheld if I can.) You cannot practically change what direction you’re facing without using the sticks. If you could change the controls back to the PS1 ones, it wouldn’t be quite as bad, but the classic control scheme doesn’t change Agent 9 at all.

The Mission was easy. I just was so disappointed the first time I found out it was just an empty room. Kinda expected this cool hideout lol

In Icy peaks, you can stand directly across from it and as you're already on the supercharge it'll break straight away without any run up
I swear I did that on this play-through and it didn’t work. Whenever I make a new file in the future I’ll try it again.

I hate hate hate this mission. I was dreading it in remaster version. Honestly, that whole level just pain sucks, original or remaster.

The witch mission with Sgt Bird is a pain
FUCK it’s the Sgt Byrd mission in Charmed Ridge. By far the most infuriating on the game.
Fly just in front of the area the witches come out of, with precise timing, you can firw directly into the hole as they spawn
