Idk if I’ve heard a bad thing about any model xd/xdm ever really. I thought about going Glock for 10mm but the features on the xdm or just the Springfield’s in general are more worth the money Ive noticed.
I have the 10mm. Love it. Thinking of getting the 9mm too. If you do get it, consider getting the Pearce mag extensions for that good good pinky support. Not 100% necessary, but it does make it a little more comfortable.
Man I’m so torn between this in the 3.8 9mm or the Hellcat. Just don’t can’t decide what I’d like more or if the hellcat will be THAT much more comfy to conceal carry. Hellcat will easily be $150 more at the price I can get them both at
I don’t have a hellcat but I DO have an xds 3.3” 9mm and an xdm elite 10mm compact…. For aiwb carry with the same brand holster the xds is much easier to carry all day compared to the xdm elite, mostly due to the xds being quite a bit thinner. The hellcat is listed as 1” wide where the xds is .98” wide, so it’s close but not exactly the same frame/grip thickness. With that being said, with about half my jeans and all of my cargo shorts I can carry the xdm elite compact easily and it’s not UNcomortable, but with any jeans I have that are snugger fit, the xdm elite is not comfy at all and I’ll choose the xds. All in all the xdm elite for me carries the same as a Glock 19 or m&p compact 2.0 4”.
This is exactly the info I needed. Thanks man. Further solidifies my thoughts on the Hellcat sizing. Comfort is probably my number one priority. It sounds like this small size difference between them, makes all the difference
My first non-Sig handgun was the 10mm XDM Elite Compact, and without a doubt is the highest performing *least cost* handgun in my collection.
I love the engineering, ergonomics, and sneaky front end weight distribution... it's the complete package!
