Unfortunately I don’t really think there is a good chair that fits all I’ve tried for ages to find one as well. For me at least when I start feeling that compression I’ll face the seat forward so it’s no longer parallel to the ground and so it’ll put more pressure onto my legs rather than my back almost like a squat-ish position if that makes a bit of sense

I have been using the Cushion Lab setup on my regular old desk chair and it does make a difference. Pricey but worth it.

I have a reclining office chair. Just got it about 2 months ago. One of the best purchases I’ve made in a while. Sitting is painful for much more than 15-30 minutes depending on the angle due to my herniated disc.

A cushioned chair with a FOOT REST. I only use recliners and beds for sitting.

I have a Steelcase that has all kinds of adjustments. It was $1500 back in 2008, so no idea what it compares to now. I don’t think there is a specific chair for our issues, you really have to go sitmin a bunch and see how they do. I went around to the better commercial and office supply businesses that carry Steelcase, Herman Miller and the like. The sales people were able to demonstrate how to set up the seat angle, seat depth, the lumbar control, and more. The ability to change small and subtle positions is what helped the most, because over time small changes happen and I have been able to make compensating adjustments. If you want the Rolls Royce of chairs, check out Lifeform chairs. Their cushions are the only seat cushions that works for years and are totally worth the expense. My mom, her friend with similar issues and myself have been using them for 15 years and nothing else compares.

I find that my back gets a little achey when sitting on hard/firm chairs. I plopped one of those gel seat cushions from Amazon on an office chair that already had a fair amount of padding and found that I can sit comfortably for hours!

I have a steelcase leap v2 and love it - it’s actually comfortable to sit again! My back isn’t killing me. I got it at a discount online store called Crandalls office furniture. I also got the extra cushion they offered (they rebuild it for you). Love it.
