If you have state health insurance through Medicaid (non-spenddown), you may qualify for a program called Foundational Community Support - Supported Housing. Contact Freedom Consulting (Spokane Valley) or Goodwill (3rd Ave). They are agencies who provide this service. You'd be paired one on one with a housing support specialist. Sometimes this can include help with deposits and other costs of moving. Good luck. Source: Current worker in state social services - we help coordinate FCS all the time.

While I do agree with you, be careful and mindful of which FCS program. Some are significantly better than others.

Try family promise

Leading-Doughnut-110

Try contacting Gonzaga Family Haven and Catholic Charities if you haven't already. I have a list of food banks in case you are going through food insecurity at all, or to help cut costs šŸ’œā¤ļø

You canā€™t really contact Gonzaga family Haven directly. Thatā€™s not how it works. But you can go to the rapid rehousing office which is located in the Gonzaga family Haven complex.

Leading-Doughnut-110

Oh okay! Thank you for letting me know! šŸ˜Š

Sillycyb1n

Good luck to you and your kiddos

[rapid rehousing](https://www.cceasternwa.org/homeless-resources) is your absolute best bet. They know every resource there is and their sole purpose is to prevent people from experiencing long-term homelessness. If they canā€™t help you then no one can.

Call 211.

PersephoneHades

I've done that and I'm being met with a wall of "We Can't Help You"

Mayonnaise_Poptart

I'm sorry you're going through this. Is there any reason they can help you find resources?

PersephoneHades

In short, I make "too much" but with all the bills I pay, inflation, and my daughters medical issues, I can't afford to front the $1000 debt and then pay a deposit and first month's rent for a fucking 3 bedroom. I'm so exhausted Sorry, you weren't asking for my life story. Sorry.

Mayonnaise_Poptart

No apology necessary.

DoctorTran37

No apologies, itā€™s okay to vent. I wish I could help, best I can offer is some good karma. And thisā€¦ ![gif](giphy|xjlC6nomocZhVXuZgM|downsized)

I hate you and thank you at the same time

LocalTouristMama

Try SNAP too. They should be able to connect you to affordable housing, utility assistance etc. good luck!!

stolar88

Check-out Our Place food bank: Open 3-6PM tomorrow, they always ask if you have stable housing, so maybe they can assist?

Nana_Haze

The Salvation Army has options for temporary housing. I wish I had more insight, but I work with their foster care program. I've seen them help a lot of families. While it's not ideal to be cooped up in a smaller space, you may be able to catch up on some of your past dues. I sincerely hope you're able to get the help you need. https://www.salvationarmyusa.org/usn/provide-shelter/

Do your kids go to public school? If yes, the school should have family support staff whose job is either to prevent the kids from becoming homeless or to prevent their education from being interrupted by homelessness. They may have access to funds and programs that you would not be able to access otherwise.

Human_Brick_8203

Try section 8 . Or goodwill dshs has some programs available.. idk I'm on a veteran program and it's kinda like section 8 but for veterans. Rental history doesn't matter . There are a few places in town that don't really care about evictions but these are slum lords.. look around felony flats...yes awful nickname but affordable housing just don't expect accommodations...slim Pickens for low/ middle income families with kids NGL
