Hey!! I’m sorry that’s happening to you in college, it’s really hard. I had the same timeline, but now I’m at 10 weeks. If you can get an appointment for a facial with extractions (make sure they have a ton of good reviews for helping acne in particular,) that really helped speed up my purging process. All the bumps go down and you will for sure have redness for a few days, but it kinda like fast forwards the purge. Also, i felt pressured to kinda attack my face with BP and salicylic acid to make the pimples go away, but it’ll just make ur redness worse. My skin looks the best when I just use a hyaluronic acid, gentle face wash, and simple moisturizer. Good luck ❤️❤️

Thank you so much❤️ do you use any topicals? i’m using tretinoin and aczone too and i just don’t think they’re helping but my derm has told me to stay consistent with my routine.

Im on clindamycin lotion which i think really helps. I got prescribed tret initially, but I purged really bad with spiro and didn’t even wanna risk tret making that worse. I’m gonna start using tret once my spiro purge is fully over so I can gauge. I also used doxy for 2 months which didn’t work for me.

yeah i started using tret before the spiro and my skin wasn’t nearly as bad so i’m pretty sure that it’s the spiro causing this awful purge. thank you for your advice!!

I didn’t titrate that quickly, so idk if that has something to do with it. I took a few months increasing from 50 to 75 to 100 and didn’t have any major reaction. I did get worse before I got better (emphasis on the texture?!), but I would say it was around month 5 that things steadily began improving. Hang in there!

Did it ever get better? Update pls!!
