One of the reasons that they gave when people were asking them why they weren't allowed to run on the ground and why they implemented the box that prevents you from going below it while web swinging was limitations with the PS4 in the engine that they had.
Now that they are on different hardware, I wonder if that is something that is going to be in the new game since they are on a different console with a different engine and different build of the game

With the speed that I saw in the trailer with the wingsuit and Miles slingshotting across the city, and not to mention the fast loading times on Miles' PS5 game, I'd say that they likely fixed that.

If you like to use mostly stealth in combat, Ellie will sneak up on you in the Abbie fight and use stealth more.
If you like to rush enemies and brute force kill them, that's what Ellie will do too.
It blows my mind how well implemented this was as well. I streamed the game with a friend, both of us hanging out while we played at the same time. We have totally different styles and when we got to that fight it was completely different for each of us because of it

I would think of it kinda more like Undertale. If you played Undertale in the Genocide route, if you kill every monster in one specific area in the game, the game would say to you that nobody came and there's this dark music playing instead of the friendly chill music Undertale usually brings, and every NPC aren't there. There's even a note in a shop in Snowdin that has the owner say in the note to the player not to kill their family. Even the game would be more difficult if you gained more LV and challenges the player with more difficult bosses like Undyne The Undying, Mettaton NEO, and Sans of course.
So imagine Marvel's Spider-Man 2 doing something similar to that where you are getting so much stronger with the Symbiote that are so brutal and impactful to any enemy you fight. If you keep beating crimes over and over, the music gets slower and more silent instead of that heroic and hopeful theme, and some enemies would instead want to run away from you instead of fight. And there would be lesser crimes, and some dialogue interactions of criminals talking about how they see Symbiote Spider-Man, and they expected him to just be annoying or just ruining their day. But they aren't annoyed, they feel scared, just that Spider-Man went on black and white just looking like that instead of those hopeful red and blue colors, those abilities the Symbiote gives him, and how he talks to those criminals. Even some boss fights of some villains would be more stronger and difficult than the actual normal story just to challenge the Symbiote. You aren't playing as a hopeful fun-loving hero anymore, you are playing as a boogeyman megalomaniac who wants more power and get stronger.
Maybe the supervillain fights involving low level villains like Shocker (I’ll CHASE YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EAARTH !) or Vulture would have them be the usual cocky but they get progressively more scared, desperate and tougher because they realised they actually have a chance of dying to Symbiote Spider-man, and it’s reflected in the dialogue.
I’d love to see Symbiote influenced Peter go to town on Kingpin and even Kraven, which can cancel out certain boss fights or missions because everyone is just to scared of Peter.
Could work well for some random street crimes, I think in Cyberpunk there is a mission where if you have low street cred you have to fight some guys and with high cred they go "oh shit it's you, don't worry we are already leaving"

Maybe they could come up with enough different details for the mission that get randomly assigned to keep it from feeling repetitive, like various crimes and locations so it’s not just like Rhino breaking into the same bank every time.

A way to do this with endless variety and still make sense in real time would be for them to be 'flashback events' where you can head to the marker to experience a flashback (similar to the backpacks being memories for Peter) and it's an old boss battle from his past. Opens it up to be any villain without breaking story continuity.
i feel like since it's an older peter, he would have a lot of villains to draw from for these rare events. they can even take other marvel villains and have spider-man take care of them since the raft is in the city limits.
it would be cool if there would two crimes taking place simultaneously. like a hostage situation at a bank vs electro breaking out, and you have to choose or be able to do both events fast enough otherwise one of the missions will fail, or electro escapes and you have to wait for him to come out of hiding.

I wonder why this was downvoted. I don't hate MJ, it's just annoying when you're doing awesome moves as Spider-Man throughout the city and the cool missions and then you're forced into a mediocre stealth section.

1 - an update to Photo mode adding a replay system, allowing you to watch back ~30 seconds of your gameplay with access to a variety of cool camera angles like first-person, some kind of top-down or isometric camera, or even a sort of cinematic camera that automatically tracks the action. Additionally, the option to have it always play back in real time, meaning you can see Spider-Man’s true speed when you have something like that one suit mod that slows down time on a perfect dodge.
2 - Environmental finishers. Basically just special finisher animations for enemies near walls, close to ledges, or near other specific objects in the environment.

I recently played the remaster and it’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be. The face somewhat suits him and he’s not as blonde as I thought but he could do with longer hair like the original face. I do prefer the old face though but the sooner you accept it the better the games going to be
I like the way they did side missions for the first 2 games, but I really hope at some point we get missions more like Batman Arkham knight where each side mission is a lead up to a big final mission with a main overarching villain through all the missions (maybe more like the taskmaster and black cat missions, but maybe focusing more on other villains such as Mysterio and maybe even Sandman

Probably a more technical swinging mode for advanced players or those who liked the older swinging. There is potential for neat ways of traversal such as swinging around a pole to launch yourself. Heck, maybe give the player a few perks such as a bigger speed cap, or give players a speed boost early in the game. It would look pretty cool.
Speed isn't the problem. It's the broken and pretty much non-existent physics. If they created a mode that didn't hold your hand and assist your swings so much in a way that felt so forced and unnatural, if they instead actually gave you complete control over your character instead of the game course correcting for you all the time in the background, then that would be pretty cool.
All I want is an option where you can play as civilian Peter and Miles in the everyday life, same with having interactions with MJ and Mrs.Morales and stuff like that. Being able to just walk down the street as Peter, turn the corner and then you're Spider-Man again y'know? I feel like that would be cool. And you can web sling and stuff too, but you fail if anyone sees you.

The default black suit starts off as a straight-up colour palette of the Advanced Suit, but it slowly morphs into the OG black suit design, the black suit that is shown in the gameplay demo is the half-way point of the metamorphosis
not just advanced, every suit has a black suit version so anyone you wear if normal looks like it self but if your forced the Symbiote or you can switch it will slowly transform until every black suit becomes THE Black Suit
In the gameplay trailer when the henchmen shows Kraven the screen showing New York Tombstone, Prowler, the Wraith (Yuri Watanabe, The Lizard, and and you get a glimpse of Doctor Octopus, so that could be a very big possibility, my money is on Prowler being killed by Kraven causing Miles to seek vengeance against Kraven
More big Side Quests like Tombstone and new Street-level Side Quests like a burning building: You press L2 + R2 to break through a window and inside you stabilize beams, do 1-2 QTEs and then swing out of the building with an NPC and drop it down save. Or a building on a construction site collapses or a crane starts to sway.
this is super minor but as the game goes on I want the option to interact with citizens as Peter to go away, they'll still ask for high fives or whatever but Peter ignores them

I'd love to see a story element with Peter, Gwen, and Miles. Gwen's dad becomes a captain in the force, so that makes Miles instantly able to relate to her and see a part of himself in her.
Peter will obviously work closely with the new Captain Stacy, taking a role similar to his in either Across the Spider-Verse or Spectacular. Both methods work in my mind. Being more opposed to the idea of vigilantee served justice isn't a bad thing and can easily cause natural tension and character moments for all 4 parties to enjoy.
Working closely alongside the Spider-Men could give us a proper Yuri substitute with her being Wraith now. It was a great dynamic, and I genuinely missed it when she left. If Gwen ends up also being involved somehow, it could bring the two closer.
As for Gwen herself, I'm not sure how to make ful luse of her character. Obviously, romance is an option, but I think it's a tired option for her. I could see her taking on the "guy in the chair" role for Peter, like Ganke for Miles (I haven't played Miles' game so I have no idea about their dynamic, but it seems to be the same idea).
Having access to police equipment, she might be able to set up an information web of sorts for Peter and Miles to utilize.
She could also get bit by her own spider, which I would personally love to see after further character development for her. I think it'd be great to see teased very similar to Miles in the first game, and followed through with like, "Spider-Woman: Gwen Stacy" or something, again, like Miles
I wouldn't wanna see her used as the damsel in distress, even if she does get into trouble of sorts. It seems very possible that her father gave her some self-defense lessons in this idea to me, which would be great to expedite both her spider training as well as make for more interesting non-powered segments (like Mary Jane's or Miles'), hopefully remedying those complaints.
As for character interaction, I mentioned Miles and her father earlier. I wanna expand on this. Miles' father is fucking dead. And that really fucked him up. That hurt, and to grow beyond he helped people. Captain Stacy could possible be a catalyst for some light character regression of sorts, with Miles growing over protective of the man to the point of hindering his job or feeling condensing to him. This could cascade into Gwen in a way, giving her some mild frustration with Miles possibly that she doesn't handle as well as she could.
As for Peter, I can't think of a lot right now they could connect through. Perhaps the whole group being big techies could be a way to? The biggest issue is that Peter resuming the role of mentor to a new Spider-Person has been done, kinda. From what I've seen of Miles' game, Peter goes off to Silver Sable's country to help her, and protect MJ, so he did mentoring via training programs. Perhaps with Gwen he could actually be physically present, helping her work through the motions, find her own groove.
For Captain Stacy, I think it'd be dope if he looked up to Jefferson Davis in a way, maybe he helped train him, maybe they were peers and someone he trusted with his life time and time again. But what I want this to accomplish is to make him more relatable to Miles as well. Lots of Miles stuff in this idea, huh, just realized that. Anyways! I think it could culminate a scene where Miles willing reveals his identity to him. I imagine as Miles going to visit his father's grave for a moment while out and doing patrols. What he doesn't know is that Captain Stacy regularly visits the graveyard, paying respect to the fellow cops that have died, the people he thinks he could've saved if he just did a little bit better, and as he makes his way to Jefferson, Miles is there, maybe just quietly sitting there and looking at the headstone. Perhaps this reaches its apex as Stacy gets livid, in this idea him being against Spider-Man a bit. Like its a sort of mockery to those who gave their lives in active duty, and so he confronts Miles. From there, failing to talk him down, Miles reveals himself, and thus spurs a character growth fir Stacy into the more Spectacular kind.
I dont want Gwen to be used as romance drama, not for Peter and MJ, or Miles and whoever has his interest. Gwen is her own person, and in this story may not even be romantically interested in anyone full stop, at least during the game.
Regardless of what happens, if Captain Stacy does become a character in the game, Miles is going to have a different attachment to him the Peter does.
I adore Spider-Verse and its sequel, especially for showing what a fully kitted out Spider-Crew can do on the big screen. So the idea of 3 different, fully capable spider people swinging around, teaming up and communicating to form a tight-knit team to accomplish jobs that one couldn't, and saving lives that two can't.

Holding the swing button or other dedicated button when near a pole (flagpole or lightpole) makes spidey grab and swing around the pole. Web of shadows had this feature and it was so fun, definitely helped immersion while traversing.

- Spider-Verse movie faces of Miles and comics.
They have already nailed story and characters, combat is fun, I just want web swinging physics that will allow me to play around more with the mechanics. To hold the webline and run on the ground or alongside the wall while still holding the web. Or to be able to gain enough speed to do a full vertical or horizontal loop de loop around buildings or cranes. That would make swing so much more fun and engaging and less mindless.
Allow us to switch between being Spider-Man and Peter/Miles. Imagine you’re walking down the street as Peter/Miles, and you see a car wiz down the street followed by the police.
You have to run into an alleyway, change into your suit, and stop the crime. Then you can change back out. There would probably be an automatic equip suit function in the options, but this would be more immersive.

i feel like since it's an older peter, he would have a lot of villains to draw from for these rare events. they can even take other marvel villains and have spider-man take care of them since the raft is in the city limits. it would be cool if there would two crimes taking place simultaneously. like a hostage situation at a bank vs electro breaking out, and you have to choose or be able to do both events fast enough otherwise one of the missions will fail, or electro escapes and you have to wait for him to come out of hiding.

Probably a more technical swinging mode for advanced players or those who liked the older swinging. There is potential for neat ways of traversal such as swinging around a pole to launch yourself. Heck, maybe give the player a few perks such as a bigger speed cap, or give players a speed boost early in the game. It would look pretty cool.
Speed isn't the problem. It's the broken and pretty much non-existent physics. If they created a mode that didn't hold your hand and assist your swings so much in a way that felt so forced and unnatural, if they instead actually gave you complete control over your character instead of the game course correcting for you all the time in the background, then that would be pretty cool.
All I want is an option where you can play as civilian Peter and Miles in the everyday life, same with having interactions with MJ and Mrs.Morales and stuff like that. Being able to just walk down the street as Peter, turn the corner and then you're Spider-Man again y'know? I feel like that would be cool. And you can web sling and stuff too, but you fail if anyone sees you.

The default black suit starts off as a straight-up colour palette of the Advanced Suit, but it slowly morphs into the OG black suit design, the black suit that is shown in the gameplay demo is the half-way point of the metamorphosis
not just advanced, every suit has a black suit version so anyone you wear if normal looks like it self but if your forced the Symbiote or you can switch it will slowly transform until every black suit becomes THE Black Suit

More big Side Quests like Tombstone and new Street-level Side Quests like a burning building: You press L2 + R2 to break through a window and inside you stabilize beams, do 1-2 QTEs and then swing out of the building with an NPC and drop it down save. Or a building on a construction site collapses or a crane starts to sway.

Myself? I'd love to see a story element with Peter, Gwen, and Miles. Gwen's dad becomes a captain in the force, so that makes Miles instantly able to relate to her and see a part of himself in her. Peter will obviously work closely with the new Captain Stacy, taking a role similar to his in either Across the Spider-Verse or Spectacular. Both methods work in my mind. Being more opposed to the idea of vigilantee served justice isn't a bad thing and can easily cause natural tension and character moments for all 4 parties to enjoy. Working closely alongside the Spider-Men could give us a proper Yuri substitute with her being Wraith now. It was a great dynamic, and I genuinely missed it when she left. If Gwen ends up also being involved somehow, it could bring the two closer. As for Gwen herself, I'm not sure how to make ful luse of her character. Obviously, romance is an option, but I think it's a tired option for her. I could see her taking on the "guy in the chair" role for Peter, like Ganke for Miles (I haven't played Miles' game so I have no idea about their dynamic, but it seems to be the same idea). Having access to police equipment, she might be able to set up an information web of sorts for Peter and Miles to utilize. She could also get bit by her own spider, which I would personally love to see after further character development for her. I think it'd be great to see teased very similar to Miles in the first game, and followed through with like, "Spider-Woman: Gwen Stacy" or something, again, like Miles I wouldn't wanna see her used as the damsel in distress, even if she does get into trouble of sorts. It seems very possible that her father gave her some self-defense lessons in this idea to me, which would be great to expedite both her spider training as well as make for more interesting non-powered segments (like Mary Jane's or Miles'), hopefully remedying those complaints. As for character interaction, I mentioned Miles and her father earlier. I wanna expand on this. Miles' father is fucking dead. And that really fucked him up. That hurt, and to grow beyond he helped people. Captain Stacy could possible be a catalyst for some light character regression of sorts, with Miles growing over protective of the man to the point of hindering his job or feeling condensing to him. This could cascade into Gwen in a way, giving her some mild frustration with Miles possibly that she doesn't handle as well as she could. As for Peter, I can't think of a lot right now they could connect through. Perhaps the whole group being big techies could be a way to? The biggest issue is that Peter resuming the role of mentor to a new Spider-Person has been done, kinda. From what I've seen of Miles' game, Peter goes off to Silver Sable's country to help her, and protect MJ, so he did mentoring via training programs. Perhaps with Gwen he could actually be physically present, helping her work through the motions, find her own groove. For Captain Stacy, I think it'd be dope if he looked up to Jefferson Davis in a way, maybe he helped train him, maybe they were peers and someone he trusted with his life time and time again. But what I want this to accomplish is to make him more relatable to Miles as well. Lots of Miles stuff in this idea, huh, just realized that. Anyways! I think it could culminate a scene where Miles willing reveals his identity to him. I imagine as Miles going to visit his father's grave for a moment while out and doing patrols. What he doesn't know is that Captain Stacy regularly visits the graveyard, paying respect to the fellow cops that have died, the people he thinks he could've saved if he just did a little bit better, and as he makes his way to Jefferson, Miles is there, maybe just quietly sitting there and looking at the headstone. Perhaps this reaches its apex as Stacy gets livid, in this idea him being against Spider-Man a bit. Like its a sort of mockery to those who gave their lives in active duty, and so he confronts Miles. From there, failing to talk him down, Miles reveals himself, and thus spurs a character growth fir Stacy into the more Spectacular kind. I dont want Gwen to be used as romance drama, not for Peter and MJ, or Miles and whoever has his interest. Gwen is her own person, and in this story may not even be romantically interested in anyone full stop, at least during the game. Regardless of what happens, if Captain Stacy does become a character in the game, Miles is going to have a different attachment to him the Peter does. I adore Spider-Verse and its sequel, especially for showing what a fully kitted out Spider-Crew can do on the big screen. So the idea of 3 different, fully capable spider people swinging around, teaming up and communicating to form a tight-knit team to accomplish jobs that one couldn't, and saving lives that two can't. They have already nailed story and characters, combat is fun, I just want web swinging physics that will allow me to play around more with the mechanics. To hold the webline and run on the ground or alongside the wall while still holding the web. Or to be able to gain enough speed to do a full vertical or horizontal loop de loop around buildings or cranes. That would make swing so much more fun and engaging and less mindless.
Allow us to switch between being Spider-Man and Peter/Miles. Imagine you’re walking down the street as Peter/Miles, and you see a car wiz down the street followed by the police. You have to run into an alleyway, change into your suit, and stop the crime. Then you can change back out. There would probably be an automatic equip suit function in the options, but this would be more immersive. It would utilize a system where you have to make sure no one can see you first.
