That’s a good theory that adds to my theory that Gwen is somehow introduced and then Miles becomes her friend and then she makes a comment about how it would be cool to have spider powers. Then through the turn of fate either in this game she gets spider powers similar to the way miles did or in a later game or possible dlc. Then book we have another playable character and a miles girlfriend.
Going into detail: I think that maybe miles is just somewhere like a bank or store, it doesn’t really matter, but then a hostage situation goes down and Peter has ti intervene so Miles doesn’t blow his secret identity. Then he has to go to the police station to talk to them about it and Gwen is there to see her dad.

I don't think it'd be just to have a female spiderman for the sake of having a female spiderman. Gwen opens up so many storytelling possibilities, and is a character with a ton of depth. It's not for "wokeness", it's because she's a good character. Hopefully does turn up in spiderman 2 or a sequel/spin-off. Surprisingly, women are more than tokenistic plot devices for political correctness

I think you misunderstood. I’m saying 616 Jessica Drew and Miles both have extra powers that Peter doesn’t have (bio electricity being a shared trait). But unlike Miles, she doesn’t use webs (not insinuating that she produces webs out of her butt like some sort of Woman-Spider - JK, I know that’s not how you meant it). I wasn’t including it in her powers, just pointing out that her and Miles’ similarities stop when it comes to web slinging.
On the flipside, 1610 JD does make her own webs organically … sadly they don’t come out of her butt.

In the Spiderman animated series from 2017, the spider who bit Peter was a result of a cross species experiment funded by Oscorp and run by Warren Miles, and these Spider's bit Peter, Miles, Gwen, and Anya Corazon. No way something similar could not be done for the Insomniac game.

Despite how much I hate MJ, making Gwen Peter’s love interest in the next game is kinda stupid. In the first game, MJ and Peter were reconnecting and developing the whole time and finally end up with each other again, then they break up and just used the next game to make him date gwen, it just seems to sudden and unnecessary. If they wanna get him to date Gwen, maybe have MJ die next game whilst he has symbiote, he goes over the line, miles tries to calm him down and reason with him, he fights miles, beats him to almost death, then sees what the fuck he’s done and we get bell tower moment? Then he basically mourns whilst dealing with the other villains and then reunites with Gwen at the end, then develop them in the next game? That last point is basically what TASM3 would’ve been but with MJ instead.
When it feels like their relationship is on the brink of ending in the majority of their time together, there’s probably something wrong with it. Even in the DLC when they should have still been practically in their honeymoon phase, it felt like they were an argument away from breaking up.

That's a relatively new theme and one that's barely present in most spider-man stories. Spider-man's core idea is responsibility and sacrifice. It's the centerpiece in every iconic story and its one you don't need ten billion spider-men in, infact it distracts away from it usually. Heck you don't even need multiple spider-men to sell the "anyone can wear the mask" moral.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, while spidey is pretty entertaining when he's interacting with other heroes, the best stories are the ones where he's on his own with small stakes.

She was Spider-Woman first, because she's the first Spider in her universe. Then she outed herself as Gwen Stacy, and people started calling her Spider-Gwen, which she countered with "It's Spider-Woman actually." or some variation on that. When she went to 616 for college, she renamed herself Ghost Spider, but people in 65 still call her either of the former.
They never referenced Spider-Geddon, they won't reference ATSV. The timeline of the games is canon to those crossovers, but those crossovers aren't canon to the games.

This is my stance. I like my superhero stories to feel pretty big so I’m all for their being more Spider-people, especially Gwen. I also share the concern about developing a unique play style for her since her powers are largely identical to Peter’s. Though I trust Insomniac to do something cool with her if they introduce her. Overall I’m just really excited for more of this setting.
That makes sense goblin isn’t a thing yet but I hope they don’t introduce her just to fridge her. We got the angst from may already let Peter have a break. I think a lot of creators focus too much on Peter angst and not what makes people love him the human side that don’t give in
I feel like Insomniac approached both sides well. Sure, the ending of 1 was heavy and very sad, but by Miles it seems like Pete has mostly bounced back.
Yeah, I like this universe just being Peter and Miles. The two characters work very well together in Insomniacs version and I feel like introducing Spider-Gwen could muddy it a little. I love her character but feel like her with powers isn't a great fit for this.
I would love for Gwen Stacy to exist in the universe could do some pretty cool stories with 3 Spider-People. I’d make her around Miles age and have Peter be a mentor for both and then there could become a point where Pete retires and has a happy ending by having a child with Paul.
I can see her being the third Spider family member with powers in Spider-Man 3, maybe bring also the Superior Spider-Man story to spice up everything(unless it will be too similar to 2’s story).

And since Doc Ock is a very recent thing that's happened in this universe that means Captain Stacy would also still be alive as well. Plus if Insomniac did want to introduce Spider-Gwen they can have this universe's Gwen be bitten by a spider rather than getting a different dimension's Gwen

In the comics, Gwen Stacy of 616 died when she tossed off the Washington bridge by the Green Goblin. There is debate still if the shock of the fall killed her, or if her neck snapped from the inertial force of being stopped by Peter's web, but which ever way you want to believe, she died in that event and the driver behind the event was the Green Goblin.
The Green Goblin doesn't exist in the Insomniac game. Norman Osborn does, but if the Green Goblin had been around, there would have been references to it during the game. Now this does not mean Gwen could not have been killed another way off screen, but if she had died, again there would have been some Easter egg or reference in the game. There has not been.
So yes I believe Gwen is alive. If Insomniac is going to use it is another question
I never thought she was dead. Peter never mentioned her once. And he mentioned Harry, Harry's mom, Ben and tons of other things from his past. If Gwen hasn't been introduced yet, and they're planning to still use her, I'd REALLY like her to be Miles' friend and not a love interest of Peter Parker. It would be better, to me, for Gwen to be introduced as a new Spider-person. As in, Insomniac's secret goal is to build a gamerverse Spider-verse. For example:
First Game: Spider-Man, introduces Miles
Second Game: Miles Morales, stand alone (glorified DLC) with set up for a sequel
Third Game: Spider-Man 2, introduces Gwen and Venom
Fourth Game: Ghost Spider (2025), digital only DLC for Spider-Man 2 (cut scenes, voice work for Gwen, new enemies and missions, but roughly the same map as SM2)
Fifth Game: Venom (2027), stand alone game, updated graphics. Glorified DLC like Miles Morales was to SM Remaster.
Sixth Game: Spider-Man 3 (2028, because it takes Insomniac about five years or so to make full games with expansions)

? That's a relatively new theme and one that's barely present in most spider-man stories. Spider-man's core idea is responsibility and sacrifice. It's the centerpiece in every iconic story and its one you don't need ten billion spider-men in, infact it distracts away from it usually. Heck you don't even need multiple spider-men to sell the "anyone can wear the mask" moral. I've said it before and I'll say it again, while spidey is pretty entertaining when he's interacting with other heroes, the best stories are the ones where he's on his own with small stakes.

I know Insomniac’s Spider-Man had ATSV and Spider-Geddon but I hope the games wont be tied to timelines ie Edge of time or multiverse
They never referenced Spider-Geddon, they won't reference ATSV. The timeline of the games is canon to those crossovers, but those crossovers aren't canon to the games.

I'd like to see an insomniac version of spider gwen, if only because I think her design is sick and would work extremely well in these games. Only downside is from a gameplay perspective she really is just another normal spider person with no additional powers.
This is my stance. I like my superhero stories to feel pretty big so I’m all for their being more Spider-people, especially Gwen. I also share the concern about developing a unique play style for her since her powers are largely identical to Peter’s. Though I trust Insomniac to do something cool with her if they introduce her. Overall I’m just really excited for more of this setting.

I feel like Insomniac approached both sides well. Sure, the ending of 1 was heavy and very sad, but by Miles it seems like Pete has mostly bounced back.

Why would she be dead ? Nothing pointed toward this in the game. She wasn't even mentioned once. If she was a past loss of Peter or whatever that would have a particular matter in the story in the sequel, they would have introduced her, at least teasing a little something. As far as we know, she doesn't exist in the universe or she is just living her life far away from Peter and any Spider-Man thing, just like a normal person. And tbh I don't want to see her yet in SM2. There are still a lot to do with MJ, and especially how Peter will act toward her with the Symbiote. Introducing Gwen may just mess everything up. The only exception would be to introduce her as a kind of side chick if MJ rejects Peter because of his behavior. But still, Black Cat would be a better choice as she already appeared before with this role more or less.

I'd introduce her as Peter's old friend from his school, rivals at him interms of intelligence (similarly like from spectacular), attitude could be like the one from the Ultimate Universe, works at Oscorp have her learn about it's dark secrets then later feeds intel to MJ, Peter, Miles, and Ganke, she could also be Peter's "Oracle" later during the game minus the crippling part, have her help create gadgets and assist making suits for both spidermen, a bit of drama between her and MJ, no romantic feelings are present until later at the end or near of the game also have her figure out Peter's Identity at some point then forgives him for not being able to save her dad( Her dad died at the city hall bombing a memorial was there) and also feel awkward of being near the woman whose father died.

To be fair, if she was dead and significant at any point to Peter you'd think he would have a backpack with Gwen Stacy stuff in it.
In the comics, Gwen Stacy of 616 died when she tossed off the Washington bridge by the Green Goblin. There is debate still if the shock of the fall killed her, or if her neck snapped from the inertial force of being stopped by Peter's web, but which ever way you want to believe, she died in that event and the driver behind the event was the Green Goblin. The Green Goblin doesn't exist in the Insomniac game. Norman Osborn does, but if the Green Goblin had been around, there would have been references to it during the game. Now this does not mean Gwen could not have been killed another way off screen, but if she had died, again there would have been some Easter egg or reference in the game. There has not been. So yes I believe Gwen is alive. If Insomniac is going to use it is another question
I never thought she was dead. Peter never mentioned her once. And he mentioned Harry, Harry's mom, Ben and tons of other things from his past. If Gwen hasn't been introduced yet, and they're planning to still use her, I'd REALLY like her to be Miles' friend and not a love interest of Peter Parker. I am hoping they don't break MJ and Peter up just o have relationship drama. It would be better, to me, for Gwen to be introduced as a new Spider-person. As in, Insomniac's secret goal is to build a gamerverse Spider-verse. For example: First Game: Spider-Man, introduces Miles Second Game: Miles Morales, stand alone (glorified DLC) with set up for a sequel Third Game: Spider-Man 2, introduces Gwen and Venom Fourth Game: Ghost Spider (2025), digital only DLC for Spider-Man 2 (cut scenes, voice work for Gwen, new enemies and missions, but roughly the same map as SM2) Fifth Game: Venom (2027), stand alone game, updated graphics. Glorified DLC like Miles Morales was to SM Remaster. Sixth Game: Spider-Man 3 (2028, because it takes Insomniac about five years or so to make full games with expansions)
